Joey's San Antonio Reviews
A neighborhood staple that happens to have amazing pizza. Aside from the parking, this place is fantastic. Don’t be high maintenance and you’ll have a great time.
Comfortable but small inside.Great spot for 2 to grab drinks n food. Had cocktails causethe 1st one was tasty. The patio area open local sounds with the busy street. When closing my tab I got a smell of there Pizza.I need to go back and try.
In house dough and sauce on their pizza. Delicious!!!!!! Cannot beat the beautiful hospitality from Nate and Kat at the bar and on food service! I recommend coming here ANY day of the week but especially on a Monday if you wanna get in on a pool table or a dart board before the night crowds.
Reese was amazing. She was our waitress in the very beginning and when we first walked in she was quick to grab our drinks and made sure they were full and make sure we had everything we needed at the same time. She got us our food which was also delicious. We asked her about the pool tables and she explained how the rules went - eight dollars an hour for a table, even though she was super busy and I noticed she had a lot of tables, but she made sure we felt prioritized. She made sure that we were happy and had what we wanted. My husband and I haven’t had a date night in a few years (Kuz of kiddos) but after organizing a babysitter, we came here and were blown away by the service. Every date night we might have, we will be coming back here and asking for Reese again 10 out of 10 would recommend to everybody. Thank you Reese!! Made our light that much better and brought my husband and I that much closer ❤️❤️❤️
Really like this place, always good music, cool people, and great pizza! They have full-size tables and there are usually a bunch of people Friday night. Definitely give this place a try. The only complaint I have is the bathroom…they desperately need to upgrade that, it’s terrible.
Joeys joeys joeys. How do I love thee? Let me count the ways. You’re there when I need you and you don’t beg for me when I don’t. Your servers and barkeeps keep my cup filled for days. Been going for 2 decades and not much has changed, new staff, new pool felt, but the urinal won’t age. Going to joeys on a Saturday night means not only drinking but also yours friends will be in sight. Not sure why I tried to rhyme this, maybe I’m just bored. Anyhow. Check out Joeys, they have pizza and beer and pool and darts and shuffle board and patio fans.
Great weeknight vibes! We visited on a Tuesday and loved the music. The atmosphere felt very safe and welcoming for a girls' night out. Plenty of tables available and a really fun, nostalgic playlist. We’ll be back!
Customers are a little creepy and staff is off putting if your are using the pool tables, no accomodation but bar tender was nice and othe patrons seem well enough
Went on a Saturday evening, had seen this place when looking for a place to eat and have fun. Bartender was great, drinks were cheap! But we couldn't play pool or shuffle board, only darts were available. So hot and humid inside had to go outside, and we didn't bother to order food even though we were starving. Disappointed in the experience. Not sure if I'll return. Don't think it's a good idea to have people working on game room on the day after Valentine's Day, since people go out all weekend.
I do like this place and they have good food and the staff is always wonderful. The reason I give this place two stars is because the owner treats his staff terribly. I gave the atmosphere one star because the ceiling fans have been busted for since I've been going there for about 7 years and they don't do any cleaning of the bar so there's just dust everywhere all over the high areas. The bathroom is always in terrible condition with hardly any amenities. Good luck if you ever get soap or toilet paper.
Joeys was and is a go to for a quick beer. However, I did a u turn out the door now that i have to pay 15 bucks for minimum 2 hour parking, pass. I went to Hi-tones instead.
Super cheap owners- they never update or maintain anything. Pool cues are basically scrap wood at this point. Holes in the floor are never repaired, people always tripping. Bathrooms are a disaster. Tables and chairs are falling apart. They’re literally too tight to buy CHALK. Every last chalk is chewed up and used all the way to the paper. Asked the server for a drink with no coconut - she brings out a coconut drink. We ask for replacement of a non coconut drink, which she brought. Then we get charged for the original coconut drink AND the new drink! Manager wouldn’t take it off the bill! We didn’t even drink it. They wanted the server to give us her tip to cover the drink, really?? Just cheap lowlife owners and management. It gets worse: evidently a poor girl got murdered in the parking lot & the owners make the staff take down any of the fliers looking for information to track down her murderer. Just classless people. Can’t support these owners.
Completely understand staffed. Service at the bar is horrible. They do not acknowledge someone asking for a drink. Had to take a table to get someone to help. Food took forever to come out. They were busy but lots of people came in and walked out because they couldn’t get service. I wouldn’t recommend. The st Mary’s strip is always busy so they should know to be prepared but they aren’t.
Terrible service. Literally gave me half a glass of water when I asked for water. I’m not sure I didn’t get someone else’s left overs. Also changed he channel on a game we’d been watching all evening when UTSA finally scored. We missed it. They couldn’t leave it on for the last 30 seconds????
Came to watch the atm vs UTSA game and because some folks from Louisiana wanted to watch that game, even though we’d been there all along and watching the Texas games, and ordering food and drinks, they changed the channel.
They will charge you $100 fee for parking in their lot for less than 5 minutes to pickup to go food. Horrible people.
