Great food, great wait staff and very nice management. Plus live music!

Lovely Mexican restaurant with great service and although we didn't have a full meal, the margaritas and nachos were delicious! The server was also attentive. My only complaint was that the place was very dusty, lamps n ceilings could use a good scrubbing!

Excellent spot for the 5:30 to 7:30 time slot! Live music is pleasant, appetizer & drink specials... Overall a 4.8 out of 5. Great place.

Stopped in for early Saturday lunch when all the usual brunch spots had lines. Got right in, excellent service and very tasty hot shrimp fajitas! Really enjoyed my dish and left stuffed for the day. Also delicious salsa!

Food an price good. My 2nd visit. The only downside the hallway to restrooms smell of Sewer an the restroom vents an stalls are very dusty. But i was there to eat so..thats only downside. Waitress was very tentative my 2nd time for visit on my moms birthday.

Sabrina is an amazing bartender! She always greets me with a smile and knows my order without me asking. Fara and Jon, the owners, are very attentive and always make sure we are enjoying our time at the restaurant. There is live music, dancing, and plenty of space to hold an event. My personal favorites on the menu are the nachos, flautas, and enchiladas. I’ve become a regular very quickly!

I have passed this place a zillion times...my friend finally pushed me through the door.... THANKS FRIEND... This is our favorite Mexican restaurant in San Antonio tx, hands down. Occasionally we go try “something different” & time again we are disappointed! This restaurant has the best Carne Guisada, fajitas, tortillas and margaritas in town! Trust me, we come here once or twice a week for the last 15 yrs and consistency is key!!! Their grilled veggies are like no other!!! Order the tortillas well done- they won’t disappoint! Actually order some to go and freeeze them!

Just popped on for Happy Hour this was one of.the best $4 Jack Daniels and Coke I've ever been poured.Go visit Samantha she's a great bartender. The chips and salsa were tasty.

First time ever here and it was kind of quiet for a Saturday evening. The food was really good and so were the margaritas. I tried the top shelf Margarita and it was just awesome. Then I tried the lime Margarita and it was just as good. What was even better was the lime margaritas were about $5.50 because happy hour lasted till 7pm on Saturdays.

The food is amazing. Big portions. The food quality is excellent. Francisco is a professional waiter! I asked for no rice he suggested grilled veggies... AMAZING! I don't like sweet potatoes and I ate every bite. We weren't sure about certain cocktails, Francisco brought us a "taste".! We had 1 1/2 each. Both times we've been here, Francisco was our waiter. What co a great overall experience . The service and the quality remind me of the good old days ! Thank you!! Please, try this place.

Great restaurant! Homemade tortillas and great chips and salsa! All the food were a good portion size and tasted great!

The queso flameado is spectacular! I highly recommend starting with that. I was surprised that they didn't have tacos de carne asada but I was happy to make my own with the fajitas. The tip shelf margarita didn't disappoint either. Great place to take the family for a good Mexican dinner.

First of all, the environment inside the restaurant is great. Food is good, you will be greeted with chips and salsa. We ordered Chicken Fajita, Shrimp Fajita and both were delicious. Server was very polite and helping. We used a Groupon coupon. One thing to note that don't tip on reduced amount if you use a Groupon. :-)

I always keep coming back to this place with great food and excellent drinks at the bar I highly recommend it, chips and salsa always on point, shrimp Matamoros with a creamy cilantro dipping sauce are the best one of my favorites here!!!

The most fantastic atmosphere ever seen ! We have a good time there! Also great music, fresh food (tortillas) but something very kind that I saw it was the musician welcoming one by one of the guest. Honestly I want to come back forever !

Food here is great! Lots of Tex-Mex flavoring and tortillas are fresh! They have a DJ and dance floor after 7pm on the weekends so it's a funny place to bring the family and let loose.

Everything was great, I’m not a rice guy but this rice was rich with flavor and beans seemed fresh, margaritas were good, but most of all our server was excellent, what a server should be like, great customer service.

Great food and very friendly service. Our waitress, Olga, treated us very good. She was quick on her feet to help and very nice. I had the chocolate ganache cake at it tasted great!

I enjoyed this place. The food almost got a perfect score. I think they would get it with a better salsa roja. Too tomato sauce taste for me - owners should do a salsa fresca and dont be afraid of some extra heat. They had live misic and evidently a good place for dancing. A plus for those of you who enjoy a little boot scootin' to a little salsa dancing. I even heard the Tango. The drinks are pretty good. No short pours here.

We had a great dinner at this restaurant, our waitress Dulce was very nice and always coming to Ask if we needed anything, she was also very sweet with my children and giving us good advice on what to get to eat for the reason it was our first time their she recommended good drinks and delicious food! Atmosphere was calm as we went on a Sunday. We are from Houston, TX and will say when come back to San Antonio, TX we will come back and eat here!!

Salsa had good heat to it but not very big chunks. The enchiladas or excellent and the rice and beans really hit the spot. I didn't have room for dessert but the samples looked amazingly delicious, next time...

We got together with some friends to enjoy dinner, music (by dj), food and drinks. This is the 1st time we visit, one friend reserved; not sure if it's usually required but got tables close to the dance area and dj. The service was great, the food was delicious, and we enjoyed the atmosphere with music and drinks.

Always a wonderful spot for a drink, dinner, music, or all three! Sabrina handles the bar like the professional she is, and the chefs and cooks can prepare the best.food around. It’s a must stop anytime we’re close by.

We were cruising down Highway 10 and, based on the reviews, decided this was our spot for a quiet meal and a bit of relaxation. The food? Absolutely delicious. But apparently, "quiet" wasn't on the menu for a Saturday night. We walked into a full-blown multi-birthday bash, mostly featuring a lively crowd of seniors. Think loud music, live singing, and even dancing! It certainly was an interesting experience – just not the chill dinner we'd envisioned.

We had beef & chicken fajitas, Spanish rice, refried beans, guacamole & pico de gallo. We had a wonderful time. We are definitely coming back real soon to try the shrimp tacos. We had a great time here. The chips and salsa are amazing. I’m usually not a fan of soupy salsa, but the taste more than made up for it. The staff was very welcoming and attentive. We had the spinach quesadilla and the pollo Acapulco, which were awesome. Great job all around.

I came in here because it was the closest thing to walk to from Discount Tires… THANK GOD I DID!!!! I had the most delicious soup, salsas and chips! Queso was great, chips were hot, and salsa was decent. Shrimp with bacon was on point.

First time here having drinks and food. Live entertainment was good but a little loud for my taste. It was hard to have a conversation with people at the table.

I'm always trying out new restaurants in the area. Decided to try this place. The waiter was very friendly and attentive at first. The chips and salsa were very good. I ordered the quesadilla which was packed with flavor and popping with melted cheese. One of the best quesadillas I've ever had. I think the server went on break towards the end of my visit. But overall satisfied with everything.

Very tasty seafood enchiladas here. The sauce was in several dishes and everyone loved it.

I've only been here a couple of times, but the food has always been outstanding, live entertainment on the weekends creates a great atmosphere, not to mention very attentive service throughout the entire meal.

Drink prices aren’t on the menu, the food seems a bit over priced. Your orders come with chips and salsa which is nice. There was no wait. Fresh tortillas were a plus.

I really enjoyed the chicken-stuffed Chile Relleno! Chips and salsa were excellent! I feel like I should have received more crispy jalapenos for the price, but they were tasty.

Great customer service, our Waiter Kaiden gave me and my family outstanding service and took care of all our needs . He was very professional, attentive, and polite . My plate "the Matamoros special"was good but not great. My wife had the "Matamoros salmon "and said it was delicious. Everyone else enjoyed their meals as well. The sopapillas were very good and everyone loved them. My wife said the strawberry Margaritas and the chamango margarita were delicious. Presentation was great as were the chips and salsas.

There seems to be a shocking dearth of real tex-mex food restaurants around the UTSA area. Matamoros had solid food. The veggie fajitas were fantastic and the beef fajitas were excellent. Chile con queso was outstanding! Chips were fresh and the salsa tasty. The enchiladas verdes were very flavorful, but had no spicy heat to them, which I missed. The refried beans and Mexican rice were decent, and the pinto beans were meh. Live music was playing and set a fun atmosphere, and the service was excellent.

Very good food! I got the Asada steak and it was perfect! Beans were a little burnt but the salsa and great flour tortillas made up for it! I think the asada steak was way better than their fajitas (the chicken is better than their beef btw)! We will be returning and next time I will save room for their fried ice cream as it is one of my favorite desserts and you really don't find may restaurants offering it.

We really wanted a spot in the area with drinks .we came in and the music and dancing was about to start around ,8:30 pm on a Friday. I ordered a michelada and some beef nachos. The food took a while but it was nice to have time to chat. Yes it was a bit loud but we enjoyed the entertainment. Everyone was happy with their selection of drinks and food. We would go back for some Saturday night dancing. Overall the place is clean, spacious and an extensive menu for food and drinks.

Sorry usually it's great but this time the fajitas were cold and not good. Got the boarder plate. Was not happy with the food. My kids plate was great. Will be coming back and hopefully it will be better. Came back. Food was hot this time but all the beans were burnt/ahumados. The waiter stuck his finger in the salsa accidentally.... didn't get us a new one.

We were seated near bar in a both. I felt the server would not accept NO for no alcohol. I won't go back on that alone. Food was good. She made me feel uneasy. No need.

Had the macho nachos. Saw on Google maps menu, for a full order $7.99 told them and they told me sorry they will talk to Google maps about the price issue. I don't mean to be a dick but I felt rip off cause of the quantity of chips. In my opinion those nachos are good but not worth $10.99. I Could of made them better for that price. It should stay firm $7.99 only cause u only get 10 chips on your plate. I'll just go to chachos nachos and get the king Kong nachos they are pretty much the same price.

We waited for a few minutes for someone to acknowledge that we were waiting. The bartender went to an employee taking a break and said you have a customer. The waitstaff was superb. The food quality was an unfortunate afterthought. Just not great.

The food was good but not for the price and having only one refill on a flavor tea?? Service so so, the truly only thing great about it was the live music. Oh and do not share a plate or have them split that is an extra charge. They are charging like they are a high end restaurant which they are not 3* is generous.

Was visiting from Houston and saw tiktoks that made this place look amazing. Mexican martini was amazing, food was mid the chips were stale. Need to invest in sprucing up the place you can tell it use to be a chinese restaurant previously. Worth trying once

Many people said they have been here, they hyped it up, so for our Anniversary, my husband and I went to celebrate a nice dinner and hoping to dance some real Salsa music, but to our surprise and disappointment, it was a two man band, not the band we were expecting, it was not Salsa music, just some thrown in regular Spanish, old classic from 70s, n every one where we were seated n now asked if it was ok, it was so disappointing. At least the food was okay. Place has the potential to be all that with live music and a bigger dance floor, rather than 20 inches of "dancing plate".

3.5 Stars! Some things are good but not great, others need improvement. Chips and salsa, Matamoros soup, appetizer sampler were good. The fried bacon wrapped shrimp are great. The Fiesta Platter fajitas need work. The meat is not cooked medium as described. It came out well done and dried out. Sent it back. They brought out more well done meat 😱 sent that back. They finally got it on 3rd try. Francisco our waiter was great! Worked hard at getting the kitchen to do it right as described. Medium beef is not well done. Weekends have live bands.

Our sever (tall girl with blonde hair) was great. Frozen margaritas were not frozen. Very watery. Food was terrible. Chicken fajitas very very dry and bland. Been a few times hoping it would improve but it hasn’t. This is Last time we will go.

Some of the most basic & blandest enchiladas I've ever had in my life. Terrible. Fancy place with nice atmosphere but soulless food. Basically, it's like Mama Margie's with a facelift lift which isn't a compliment.

If you like bland food, you’ll like this place. We had to put so much salt and pepper on our food just to eat it. From the chips, rice, beans, enchiladas, chicken…every single thing had little to no flavor. Service was pretty good though-, which is why has 2 stars instead of 1.

Came to give this place a try. The food is very basic, not very flavorful for a Mexican restaurant. The rice was plain, no flavor, and kind of mushy. The beans were very plain. If you're looking for authentic Mexican food, this place isn't it. The drinks were ok pretty strong.

In town so stopped here to eat as we had never been here. Maybe 4 others in restaurant. Service was so so, I mean we had to ask for refills as they was just so busy with 2 other tables with just 2 people at them. Food was horrible. I had jalapeño chicken enchiladas and as u can see I tore up trying to eat something but yuck! Just no! Would not return nor recommend

Appetizer never came out because waitress forgot to order it, 2nd drink order took a long time because the waitress forgot to put in order. Waitress tried to take out plates 2 times before we were finished. After we were finished, it took a while to get the check. The service was so bad, it lowered my opinion on the restaurant experience.

Food is not Mexican. Everything is bland and tastes like it's out of a can. Staff is sweet and attentive but it does not make up for the food... The food is no good. Photos are for a bean and cheese tostada and a chicken tostada? Why is the cheese melted? Thanks.... But no thanks.
