I got the Iced Butterscotch Latte at Better Buzz. I loved this location in La Jolla! It’s very spacious, open, and has plenty of seats inside/outside. Although could get busy, the service is still great. I recommend getting coffee here and walking down to the beach to enjoy some great views!

Absolutely amazing staff. The sandwich melts in your mouth — easily one of the best I’ve ever had. And the latte? Insanely good. Hands down my favorite spot in San Diego.❤️‍🔥

I love their banana bread. I went in today and the barista was very nice and suggested the vanilla bean latte. It was the perfect amount of sweetness for me. Their team was so nice and the banana bread was amazing! Will come back. Also they did amazing during the parade!!

Cashier was so nice and attentive!!! The place was lively and friendly. Excellent service and we were given our coffee and food quickly. Will definitely be coming back!

Had a great service experience! Great feta avocado toast. Fresh, zesty and an explosion of flavor. But especially grateful for the help I recieved from one of the cashiers, Esther. Her lovely smile and generous advice really made the wait worth it. This store is lucky to have someone like her.

Food was amazing, got the happy hour sliders and the loaded fries, and drinks were good too! Service was excellent and they always checked in on us which was a plus and all the food tasted from scratch and homemade which tasted more authentic and delicious, highly recommend

EDIT: Ate here again 2 times last week(2023). Still the best bbq...probably the best I have had in California or in any resturant to date. Friendly staff as usual. Do yourself a favor and try the BBQ chopped brisket over the homemade Mac and cheese. Best BBQ I have ever had at a restaurant. Seriously! Portions are huge (my brisket platter would have fed 3-4 people). Friendly and happy staff, even during a rush while being understaffed. Definitely a must whenever we visit LA Jolla. (2022)

We were in the area on a weekday so finding parking was fine. We found this restaurant on Google Maps and wanted to try it. It turned out to be a pretty good BBQ restaurant. There's plenty of seats and tables. We felt welcome in this restaurant. Everything we ordered was good: French fries, salad, ribs, beef shank. We will definitely come back.

Blink and you’ll miss it. This yummy hidden treasure is a few steps down from the sidewalk right on Prospect Street in La Jolla. We had a little of EVERYTHING….chicken, ribs, chopped brisket, sweet potato w/ melted brown sugar, broccoli and the kind of double baked mac-n-cheese you could only dream about. Friendly staff. Burgers are really big. My father in law got the one with an onion ring on it and loved it. We sat on the patio of what looks like an office building. It doesn't have any views but the food is worth it. Onion rings are gigantic. And the fried okra was crispy perfection.

I was craving for BBQ beef rib and this place was close by and didn't have high hope for their BBQ because usually place like this are blah blah. But boy, was I wrong. I only order the 3 beef ribs n nothing else. Sauce was good, n meat is soft n tender n came off the bone. Will go back. It in la Jolla so you can burn the calories off by walking. Will go n try other items when I'm there.

My first time in La Jolla location... we enjoyed everything we ordered, good price, very fresh vegetables, excellent customer service, nice place, generous porcion, best wings we have had in California since July that we moved from east coast. Easy to to thru menu, ask for their specials .. We will be back!

Delicious barbecue joint with happy hour deals on beer! Had their Bubba combo and two kids meals for the boys. Boys were more than filled by their kids meals and the pulled pork and brisket were very tasty

Mac and cheese was surprisingly good Burger was tasty though a little large to fit in your mouth. Service lacked a little. No “ Hi, hello, welcome in,” but they may just be used to PB college customers. Good Greek salad. Pulled chicken sliders were okay, a bit dry. A bit pricy for nothing to come with fries.

Seems like a good place to get together with friends! They had pool, pingpong, and shuffle board from what I could see. Decent amount of TVs to catch the game or fight too. I had the brisket sandwich and onion rings to eat. That sandwich was decent. Very tender, but nothing too amazing. Overall it seems like a pretty nice spot. I would definitely come back.

Would come back solely for the beef rib. Fork tender and perfectly seasoned. The brisket was a bit lean for my liking. Kids liked the corn, Mac and cheese and coleslaw (but sweet for me).

We love this BBQ place near La Jolla Cove Beach area. The food is 🔥 and the server was exceptional. We got the Bubba combo that comes with 3 meats (pulled pork, chopped brisket and baby back ribs) a side and cornbread. The meats were so moist and flavorful. Their BBq sauce was sweet and tangy. We'll definitely come back again.

Amazing ribs! Tender, fall off the bone good. The sauce is excellent. We had the ribs and brisket. I can't wait to go back and try the chicken and pork. We'll definitely be ordering the ribs again. The service was very friendly and nice. Even though it's order at the counter and seat yourself we felt like we were waited on. They had a wing Wednesday special. It's buffalo only, I wish they would do the wings with their BBQ sauce or fry rub.

Honestly overhyped. The coffee itself was super mid. The location isn’t even that close to the beach. Can definitely get better coffee with less of a line/wait time elsewhere.

My first time trying a Better Buzz. The location is great. But oh wow the coffee is horrible. Perhaps if you get flavored drinks or some of their special drinks they will be alright. However, if you just like good coffee don’t bother. I’m considering just throwing mine out.

Great customer service they were so kind, but they did mess up my order. I got a nitro cold brew and thought it tasted off but it was my first time at better buzz. So recently went to another better buzz in mission valley and ordered a nitro cold brew again just to give it another chance. The mission valley better buzz was great, nothing wrong with it at all. I realize now that the La Jolla better buzz just gave me a regular cold brew. I am happy I tried better buzz again though it was just this location they made a mistake on since.

We had two açaí bowls and two flat whites. Unfortunately, the açaí was completely frozen, so we could not eat it for the first 25 minutes, and the flavor of the mixture was not so tasty. The flat white tasted more like a latte, and when I mentioned that it had too much milk, the barista seemed offended and started explaining that a flat white is simply without foam but has the same amount of milk. For a barista, it was quite surprising not to know the proper milk-to-coffee ratio for a flat white, and his reaction toward a customer was rather unprofessional. On a positive note, the girl working next to him was very kind and understanding and kindly made me a new one with less milk. The atmosphere is nice, and the café is conveniently located in the city center, very close to the sea.

Worst BBQ I have ever had. The brisket had no flavor, very bland and tasted like something that never touched a smoker or BBQ. We waited for an hour for the food, and only one meal initially came out. We watched one of our family members eat while we still waited. She and I both ordered garlic mashed potatoes for our side. They were apparently out and the waitress asked what she wanted to substitute her mashed potatoes for, which she said fries. I was in the bathroom at the time and was not asked about my desired substitute. I was given fries too when my food finally came. I would have preferred something else so that should not be an assumption that everyone would want fries as the side. There are likely better BBQ places in San Diego, but don’t go here for BBQ. If you want drinks and a sports bar, then this place is fine.

Sorely disappointed in the food. Reviews were positive so I thought I'd give it a try. The brisket looked and tasted like it came from a microwave. I've never seen brisket that color before. The beef rib was decent- it at least appeared freshly barbequed. Coleslaw was mediocre and likely was just combining a bunch of bagged cabbage and jarred dressing without any uniqueness or home-made qualities. Bouncer was cool. Server was friendly. Seems like a cool bar but don't go there for the barbecue.

The sauced beef ribs were extremely salty. The unsauced ribs were the dryest ribs we've ever had. It was dryer than beef jerky. We couldn't finish it because it was terrible.

Don’t waste your time with Bubba’s Smokehouse BBQ (inside Society). Google says they’re open until 11pm on Sundays, and their own website confirms the same—but nowhere does it mention that their kitchen closes earlier. I showed up at 9:50pm, clearly well before the posted closing time, only to be told at the door that they were already closed. I came for the restaurant, not the bar, so that excuse doesn’t hold up. If your kitchen shuts down earlier, post it clearly everywhere. Super frustrating and misleading. Maybe I dodged a bullet when it comes to the food and service—guess I’ll never know, because I’m not giving this place a second chance. Late-night eaters, don’t bother.

We ordered delivery for my husbands birthday. We’re a 6 minute drive, figured it would survive. Two kids meals; they were pulled meat mini sandwiches and were so dry the kids wouldn’t eat them. The fries in all 3 meals were so stale and completely inedible. The garden burger was a nice option for a vegetarian except I had to pull chunks of meat off of it (defeats the purpose, ya know). The birthday boys meal was missing completely and we had to call. Luckily the Uber driver was so kind and drive back to get the last meal. Unfortunately when it arrived the sausage was burnt, the brisket was half fat, and the meat had no sauce and was again, you guessed it, dry. We had really high hopes and we’re supremely disappointed in the result. Not the celebratory meal we were hoping for.
