Moonshine Beach San Diego Reviews
Moonshine Beach is a fun place to hang out. There are three areas: an indoor lounge with karaoke, a huge dance floor, and an outdoor area with TVs and outdoor games. Usually there is a cover charge (usually $10) and long lines late at night and on weekends. Free cover with college ID on Fridays, but must show it at the door. The bar/club is more of a country kick than the others. Free food, though the selection is limited. Not sure if the cover was worth it (usually I come to dance). I though it was a little too crowded. There's no capacity there; it was to the point where I was constantly being bumped and shoved around. It was almost like a hard rock concert. The play similar music to other clubs. They play anything from country to dubstep remixes of popular songs. I enjoyed it more out of the tight crowd, where I could actually move. Five 🌟s for the great vibes.
Had the absolute best time ever there this weekend.. My favorite part was this amazing guy named Charlie singing Gigolo On the karaoke side!!! Definitely will come back to visit. It was absolutely the best time in San Diego. The atmosphere was electric…the service was outstanding and we felt so welcome to just have a great time
Great bar for dancing on Tuesdays! Come Sunday football season, it’s a huge niners bar. Would recommend any team to come watch, it’s a great fun environment
This is by far my favorite bar in San Diego! There’s hardly ever a line to get in, there are multiple bars scattered throughout so you’re not waiting long periods of time to order, and the dance floor is HUGE. Hannah is my absolute favorite, she is always so welcoming and is the first to lend a helping hand! This is the best line dancing bar in San Diego and you should absolutely check it out!
Moonshine Beach is hands down one of my favorite spots to come and dance! The energy is always amazing, and the atmosphere makes it so easy to let loose and have fun. Hannah Bergman is always there too, I think she might live there cause that woman is there every time. She makes the whole experience even better and makes me excited to come back every time!
Moonshine Beach is my favorite place to go line dancing! The music is awesome, the staff is so friendly and very accommodating! Hannah the entertainment manager is the best and always makes occasions (like my birthday) extra special!
Moonshine will always be one of my favorite concerts venues. You can get right up front to just about any of them. Hannah is the best around and most accommodating!
I have ate, drank, and danced at this bar for 7 years. They have great food, friendly staff, and wonderful entertainment throughout the week. Hannah Bergman is also one of my favorite staff as she worked there since its been open and has always made me feel welcome and helped me learn the dances they do there.
Hannah, the honeys, and all bar staff make me feel so special each and every time I go in to dance. It is always a good time and I laugh a ton when I go in. If you want a good time, go to Moonshine Beach. Security also makes me feel so safe when I am dancing. If there is a problem, they have my back.
This is by far my favorite bar in PB! The team is so welcoming and friendly. I love Tuesday line dancing nights and the weekend DJs go crazy! Hannah always makes me feel like a part of the Moonshine family and answers my many questions about the calendar events.
It was my first time at Moonshine Beach Bar, where I attended a Theo Katzman event after a friend invited me. The venue is cozy, clean, and offers plenty of activities even when there isn’t an event. We were fortunate to find parking right across the street. They have some great happy hour deals.
What a time to be alive. Great bar, great DJ, great way to spend an evening. Danced until like 1am and then was dead tired after being there for 3 hours. Arrived around 10pm and was a $10/pp cover which wasn’t bad at all given the DJ and the amount of time we spent dancing in the crowd. Great for large groups and friends
Nobody got mad at me or made fun of me for my horrible line dancing skills! It was my first time and I tried to get it, but the dances are actually pretty complicated and very fast paced. Not to mention literally every song has a different dance so that makes it entertaining. They also give you food tokens when you pay the $10 to enter. How cool is that?! You get two for Free: burrito, quesadilla, hot dog, chips. Nothing crazy good but they totally don’t have to do that but they do! Our party had a great time and we will be back for sure!
Top 5 Coolest SD venues to go and perform at!! I haven't been to Nashville yet, but I feel like I have now. Moonshine Beach in Pacific Beach was incredible. Every inch of the place made me feel more country. Let's start with the games. Outside is a big open patio with 2 bars and tables to eat or drink at. They have the biggest and best selection of FREE games to play I've ever witnessed. My band and I played them all!!! ( Of course I won most of them 😆) They have cornhole, ping pong, giant connect four, foosball, and more. Inside they have a few paid games too, which we also had a blast with. They even have a mechanical Bull!!!! Next up the FOOD!! Ya, they nailed it here. Just look at the pics. I got the vegetarian option of course which was the fried and smoked Portobello mushroom burger stuffed with mozzarella (DAYUM!!), the guys got a variety of brisket french fry nachos, pulled pork sandwhich, and roast beef sub. Everyone was more than pleased with their meal! There was alot of other tempting options on the menu like jalapeno poppers, salads, flatbread pizzas and more. I'm big on customer service, especially when I perform at a venue. The security team was similar to an NFL defensive line, so don't come here looking for trouble. They guys were all cool tho with no ego or power trippin. The bartenders were on it! Fast and accurate service, with a smile. I have a girlfriend so I didn't notice if they were attractive or not... you'll just have to see for yourself. The sound and lighting team/stage crew were top notch! Which brings me to the venue as a whole for live music. This place was AWESOME to play at. The stage was huge, and they had a riser on the stage for the drummer (me). The light show was epic, and they even had a nice Yamaha house kit which is always a treat. (This means I didn't have to haul my gear). Behind us was a huge screen with our bands name in light's, and of course they sealed the deal with fog! The dancefloor fits a couple hundred people, and sits underneath a skull and disco ball. There is a bar in the stage room and plenty of seating to watch the show from too. The green room was better than most with its own bathroom and couches for pre/after show prep. (This is the backstage area for bands). The vibe of Moonshine was great. It is a legit country bar that is expanding its horizens to being a bit more versitle. I will definatly be going back, and will also happily play the venue again. The last thing I always like to address is parking. Not too shabby! I found several spots right away. Most are 2 hour spots until 6pm, so thats good for evenings. There are lots as well, and neighborhood spots a block over. If you are going to drink, please take an uber or lyft, or bike. There are plenty in this area 🤙
Full and lively bar! Great for line dances and some partner dancing. The staff does a good job of keeping the energy up.
I just want for the 49ers watch party and unless you get there early youre not getting a table at all. There wasn't much seating so.... I left. Paid $21 for 2 regular cans of beer also.
We got tickets to see William Green Clark, a country rock band with guest star country singer Erin Kinsey through Vettix. Note that this venue is standing room only except for a few tables. We got lucky, and another couple offered to share their table. We got the double smashed cheeseburger with fries to share and plain crispy wings served with celery & carrot sticks accompanied by ranch and buffalo sauce. Good portions. Reasonably priced. We had a round of drinks followed by water. The food came up promptly, and once done, it was cleared off quickly. So much so that my water was swiped when I turned my back! The bands were decent, but perhaps an addition of a soundboard could control the acoustics. Once the concert let out, it was confusing as to where the exit was. Two doors were guarded, pushing the flow of people towards the other exit, which was being used as an entrance only. It might have been intentional to persuade the crowd to stay and play some of the games or get additional beverages. Either way, it worked, and we got sidetracked by their dollar menu stand, which featured $1 hot dogs, $1 chips, and $5 mini pizzas. This place is in Pacific Beach (PB), so plan ahead for parking can be at a premium. Expect to pay for parking or have to walk a few blocks. Overall, we had fun, but this is a primarily 20-something crowd, so likely this will not be a return spot unless another good concert opportunity comes up!
They let my minor step daughter in there tonight. She doesn’t have a fake id. this is unacceptable. And i will be reporting ur establishment. She stayed til closing time.
We were looking forward to our first line dancing experience, but unfortunately we never made it inside. The security staff member at the door was deliberately dismissive and disrespectful, and it set a tone that made it impossible to feel welcomed or safe. It was disappointing to be treated this way. A good security guard is professional and supports creating a positive experience for guests while keeping boundaries he has to uphold. Based on other reviews, it seems we are not the only ones who have had a negative encounter at the entrance. This kind of treatment doesn’t reflect well on the venue and kept us from ever stepping inside.
