Tasty Donuts San Diego Reviews
Was surprised to find such good donuts here but they were all super moist and tasted great. The cronuts have a nice crispy crust with a really nice flaky inside, so good. My only nitpick would be that the glaze and icings are a bit too sweet for me. Overall, really great affordable donuts. Will be going back for sure.
Always impressed by the donuts here. When I bring them in to work I get coworkers asking me where they're from. Don't let the hole-in-the-wall appearance of this place fool you - some of the best donuts in San Diego. And the folks there are really nice as well.

I “ accidentally “ tried these donuts. Someone brought them to a potluck. Was the best donut I’ve ever had. And I’m a pastry chef. SERIOUSLY GOOD. *EDITED TO ADD: I HAVE DREAMT ABOUT THESE DONUTS. Like they’re so good I’m CRAVING another one in my sleep. Try them out today, I promise, You will NOT be disappointed!!
Best donuts in town. No question. The croissants and croissant donuts are phenomenal, too. Friendly lady behind the counter. Don't sleep on Tasty Donuts!
So this donut spot serves iced caramel macchiato. Their ice is made of frozen coffee. As your "ice" melts your drink doesn't get gross. I love that. The cheese danish is really good. The place looked very clean. Definitely a gem in Tierra Santa.
Literally the best donuts I've ever had. I stop by every time I visit SD and it's one of the highlights of my trips!
Really great donuts! Some of the best my wife and I have found anywhere in southern California or Colorado. The staff is really friendly here too!
Service is exceptional and family oriented. It is a very comfortable business, with the best donuts in town. Every time I try another donut spot I am always disappointed, tasty donuts is the best place to go!
Best doughnuts and coffee!! All my kids loved them. The coffee tasted great and was fresh and hot. The service was excellent and the lady behind the counter was extremely nice and attentive. This place will be our family’s new doughnut spot. I definitely recommend everyone to try!
One of the best donut shops in San Diego. While their variety can sometimes be depleted, their quality and freshness is rarely matched. Today my donuts were still warm when I reached home. Go early for the largest selection.
Tasty provided the donuts for my daughter's wedding five years ago. They were a huge hit and not a single one was left of 15 dozen. They just provided 6 dozen for her baby shower and once again, they were a hit. Give them a week if you need a big order and you won't be disappointed.
Wow I came here 2 days ago and the woman behind the counter was very nice. Not only is the iced coffee really good but also the donuts and the croissant with ham and cheese. Also I was very surprised at the ice coffee actually had “iced coffee” in it. You don’t see that everywhere. I’ll definitely be coming back here. Oh and that blueberry donut was 🔥😈
This was my first time stopping at Tasty Donuts. I had been craving a donut for weeks. I got an apple fritter and a glazed blueberry old fashioned. Like I said, I had been craving a donut - ONE. And I left with two. And I swiftly ate half of each, in my car, as I drove home. To say they were delicious is a tremendous understatement. The apple fritter was moist, chewy, and the perfect amount of sweetness. So yummy! The blueberry old fashioned was moist and dense all at the same time, glazed just right - not too much, and not too sparse - and it was delicately sweetened, which was ideal. One of the things I loved about both treats is the just right amount of sweetness. It wasn't overly sweet where one experiences cavities on the first bot, but it also was not bland. I nursed the remains for two days after. I kept them well wrapped to retain as much freshness as I could. And the total for both was only $3 and change! I was pleasantly surprised. I will return. I don't eat donuts very often, but when the craving hits again, I will most assuredly revisit Tasty Donuts. I was quite pleased. Enjoy your visit... and heck, splurge on two. You're welcome. ♡

If I had a chance to try their peanut butter-filled (oh yes, I said PEANUT BUTTER) doughnut, I would have added another star. That was my stupidity. They take some real pride in their craft. The apple fritter was as close to my idea of perfection as possible, and the bear claw was flawless. From the size, to the fry, the cinnamon underneath the dough, and the right amount of good-quality apple filling. Next time I call ahead!
They have cronuts and cronut holes (too sweet for my taste, some family members like it though) but the butter croissant was spot on. If I wasn't easting breakfast at home, and if this was on the way I would probably eat their croissant more often.
Hole in the wall donut shop is actually pretty good. Don't get coffee. I asked for two packs of sugar, and the coffee came back so sweet, I threw it in the garbage. Just donuts here! Starbucks next door has terrible baristas. Just drive to Mission Valley for your coffee.

The donuts here are fine. The service is fine. The only issue I have with this place is the lady's attitude who works there. She doesn't crack a smile, she doesn't say a word and she's down right cold. The man who works here is actually quite friendly. It's that lady who makes me not want to go here. There are so many other donut places in the area so, unfortunately, I'll have to drive an extra 2-3 min driving to get a smile and a donut in the morning.
I don’t understand the hype of this place. They have decent donuts the cake donuts are crispy and soft inside. The raised donuts are soft but honestly a little too soft for me. The issue I have is with the glaze on all the donuts it’s way too sweet and the flavors barely come through. I’m a huge Mary’s donuts fan in Santee. I was hoping this place would be better or just as good and it’s just not.

Seriously, the lady behind the counter makes no effort to connect with her customers.she's typically on her phone yacking away while she's trying to help you. Donuts are very dark which is an indication of old oil. A single donut Is 1.60. And she charges fifty cents to use a credit card. Sunny's donuts is my favorite and the people are delightful.

Went in early. Asked how long until the raspberry filled donuts were ready, he said 20 minutes. I waited outside. 36 minutes later, after asking politely a couple more times, and buying a cold, not fresh baked apple strudel in the meantime, that immediately made me decide to walk over to Vons and get some fresh fruit instead! No bueno!
