Martuni's San Francisco Reviews
Such a cool venue just minutes walking from Hayes Valley. Includes an intimate event space behind the bar and among the many happening the decades long monthly Literary Speakeasy is a highlight. And make sure to order a martini.
It's super dark in this place! Drinks were good. I had a couple varieties of lemon Drop. Google made me rate the food, but I saw no food or food menu, so that's for the drinks. My only beef was the lighting. There's mood lighting, then There's, I'm going to trip on something lighting. Turn it up a tad- we aren't all that ugly!
Cute spot. I hadn't seen here in years, and its as charming as ever. Drinks were great and the service was excellent. I went on a Wednesday night and was able to sit in the piano room with the live music and karaoke like vibe. Excellent singers showing up, and good vibes. I'd definitely be back. Theres 2 rooms, so if the music is too much, the bar area can be more chill.
Known for their martinis and open mic night, this spot has a great reputation. I went on an open mic night and it did not disappoint. A few people from Broadway-type shows were there on their night off, and I got to enjoy some incredible live singing. The place was packed but full of great energy. Even though there were pros performing, the vibe was welcoming and open to anyone who wanted to get up and give it a try.
One of my favorite places to get a drink in SF! We must go there at least once when we visit. The spicy pineapple martini hits the spot. Love the dark ambiance and the staff are super friendly and helpful.
A fun, unique, and magical experience. Went twice on my last trip to SF and it was truly the highlight of my visit. Although it’s open mic karaoke, I often felt I was front row to a musical! The piano playing is fantastic and the singers who go up are high caliber. Careful - the martini glasses are large and strong!
What a delight! Had been a few years since I've been here, the drinks are as big as ever and the entertainment was amazing. I love that they have piano players. I also love that the customers who got up to sing were fantastic. Was completely blown away when our server took the mic and completely owned her set. Fun tim had by all... and the drinks are large sized 😀
4 Super fun piano bar - "regular" people will request songs and literally go up to karaoke (but generally they are not actually regular ppl; they prob belonged in their college acapella back in the day). The section outside the piano area gives slightly ratchet haha but it's fine - it's a normal going out bar with great energy and vibes. Bring a date if you know them (generally not recommended for 1st/2nd bc how will you talk? Maybe you don't need to)
Went for a drink after dinner. The place was Hella dark you couldn't read the drink menu. We also went on Halloween the place was busy but not packed we had a party of 3 we went for a table at the end of the bar that had 2 chairs with it so we had to get another chair. We rotated the chair from the bar area to the table. That's how close it was and got yelled at by the server that we couldn't take chairs from the bar. Not an excuse me or pardon me but YOU CANT TAKE CHAIRS FROM THE BAR. Customer service needs a little work... probably not returning there ever again.
We had a really disappointing experience at Martuni’s tonight. The atmosphere and music are usually fun, but the service we received completely ruined the evening. Our waitress was extremely rude from the start. We politely ordered our drinks and were patient, but when we later tried to order another round she responded with a very sassy attitude, telling us that she was the only one serving the entire back room and basically refusing to take our order. We understood she might have been busy, so we waited while watching her serve all the other tables. About 30 minutes later, we tried again to ask for drinks. Instead of helping us, she snapped back with a sarcastic “I know!” and shrugged it off like we were bothering her with our request. The attitude was completely unnecessary, especially since we had been nothing but polite the entire time. After being dismissed twice and waiting a long time without service, we asked her to just close us out and left. Unfortunately, the experience was so unpleasant that we ended up leaving zero tip. Good service deserves good tips, but being repeatedly treated with disrespect does not. It’s really unfortunate because the bar itself has a great vibe, but the way we were treated tonight made it a place I wouldn’t want to return to. Our recommendation to the management is to train the staff. Service is what people remember of your business more so than anything else. We like Martuni's but do believe this waitress is ruining the business reputation.
