Osha Thai San Francisco Reviews
Great food. Not just the usual pad thai and other noodle dishes, but a wide variety of unique dishes. My eggplant was cooked to perfection. They also have a nice selection of mocktails in addition to regular alcoholic drinks.
I’ve been to Osha Thai in San Francisco multiple times with friends, family, and colleagues, and it’s consistently a great experience! The food is always delicious, with vibrant flavors that keep us coming back. The ambiance is warm and inviting, perfect for any occasion, and the service is consistently attentive and friendly. Whether it’s a casual meal with friends or a special family gathering, Osha Thai never disappoints. Highly recommend for anyone looking for quality Thai food in the city!
This place is very near to the end of Market Street and close to the Embarcadero BART station. We were there on a weekend. Also, it is a very short walk from the Ferry Building. The food was great. Since I am vegetarian I tried a vegetarian version of pumpkin yellow curry. Whereas my wife tried pad Thai with shrimp 🦐. Both of the dishes were great. The service was fast. They were able to bring items quickly. They have maintained a very high level of cleanliness. In case you are going on any busy day, I would recommend to get a reservation. They also have an outdoor seating area. I would recommend trying those especially when the weather is good.
What a find! This restaurant is conveniently located next to the Hyatt hotel and the Ferry building. It’s often very busy and booked so making a reservation might be necessary. The atmosphere is lively and vibrant because of the amount of people, and the service is great. Very friendly. The menu is expansive and has all the favorites for a Thai restaurant. Going here with friends or coworkers is a must!
Love the ambience it’s so pretty and the staff is very nice. We got in early for dinner so it was kinda empty but woaah in half hour the place was lovely and waiters running around. Food was great we had Drunken noodles - 5/5 Ginger Chicken 3.5/5 Basil spicy chicken & rice - 4/5 Fried calamari - 4/5 Chicken Satay - 5/5 Roti - 5/5 Cocktails from Happy hour - 1/5
Beautiful Thai restaurant close to the Ferry Building. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The menu was extensive with lots of options and they have a nice selection of house cocktails. My husband had the Tiger Tear steak and I had the pork belly. Both were very tasty and had lots of flavor.
The absolute best Thai Restaurant in the Bay Area in my personal opinion! I loved their indoor decor, with a lot of beautiful pink flowers, and a very vibrant set of decorations! Their tables were comfy and cozy, and after a long morning of exploring San Francisco. Their staff was also really nice, and seated us at a very fast pace! They kept refilling our waters, and asking if we wanted anything else! For their food options I feel like they had a great variety ranging from popular items such as Pad Thai to Green Curry, all tasted super delicious. I especially enjoyed their beef fried rice, and their Beef Thai Curry! A great place, with a reasonable price! However, if you are looking for their hot sauce, it is a bit on the mild side. As their hot sauce tasted a lot sweeter compared to spicy, but I feel like it depends completely on the person. Hope this helped!
From the appetizers to the desserts, presentation is amazing, food is tasty and service is excellent. The Thai tea lava cake with Thai tea ice cream was my favorite dessert, the volcano beef was my favorite entree and the angel wings were bomb for appetizers! All in all, a little pricey but food is excellent!
I like the atmosphere and the service of the staff. Great food experience except for the Fried Calamari it was not good and i think its a frozen calamari. But i love the papaya salad it was perfect and the hot vegetable tofu with shiitake mushroom was delicious. Its my 2nd time here and will comeback next time ❤️🙂
Been at Osha thai several times, it’s located in an immaculate location with picturesque views of the Ferry Building and the bay beyond. The restaurant is in the ground level of Embarcadero adjacent to Hyatt. Portion size are huge and my khao soi was as expected, the chicken was slightly chewy to my liking. An average dinning experience overall, decent quality food.
The large dining space feels festive, and around Christmas there were plenty of holiday decorations. All the tables were packed when we came in for a Tuesday afternoon lunch. A few of the things I wasn't as keen on -- lettuce wrap chicken was flavored heavily with lemongrass and fish sauce, so it could use a little bit more sweet or citrus notes. The dishes were also on the pricier side. Most dishes with a heavy sauce component felt just a tad on the sweet side, even for fusion Thai food. Still, the food is really tasty and there's a ton of unique dishes to choose from besides the classic pineapple fried rice and pad thai. I'd recommend trying the lamb chops, smoked duck, and paella, which can probably serve 3-4! Everything is also presented pretty much exactly it they appear on the menu.
Came here for lunch on a Saturday at 12PM since that's when they open and I was surprised to see that there were a lot of other people also there that had reservations. I don't think the reservations were necessary because there was plenty of seating, but it could be worth making a reservation if you're looking to sit outside. As a party of 3, we were able to get patio seating without much of a wait, we just had to wait for them to finish setting up the patio. The food was actually really good. I didn't have high hopes for the place, but all of the food was pretty good. We ordered the papaya salad, pumpkin curry, Osha's Tom Yum Noodles Soup, and the Khao Soi beef short ribs. To my surprise the pumpkin curry had some spice to it. I’d return to try other items off their menu!
We had dinner at Osha Thai last night, and the food was genuinely good. Everything was flavorful, the pork belly was well seasoned, and the panang curry had a nice twist — the kaffir lime added a bright, aromatic touch we all liked. Unfortunately, the service didn’t match the quality of the food. First, we were brought the wrong panang curry, which they replaced. Then our Tom Yum noodles arrived as Tom Yum soup, and when we pointed it out, the waitress was defensive and tried to make it seem like we ordered incorrectly. They eventually corrected it, but it didn’t feel great. On top of that, one of our dishes was taken away while we were still using the sauce — no check-in, no “are you finished?” I still tipped well because I didn’t want the staff to lose out over these mistakes, but there wasn’t even a thank you. Overall, delicious food, but the service needs improvement. If they tighten that up, this place could be excellent.
A charming little Thai spot with a cozy ambiance. The Thai iced tea was excellent--perfectly balanced in flavor and sweetness. However, the curry fell a bit short for me--bland and lacking the depth of flavor I've had elsewhere. While the experience was decent, it didn't leave a lasting impression, so I probably wouldn't return.
