Tupelo San Francisco Reviews
Come for the music, stay for the company and then go home! Or make friends and family. Just, ya know... Don't sleep there. Teague and his crew have lives to live, too ... Ok? This place has everything. And great kitchen (and bathroom) sinks. 🪄
So nice place My favourite bar about 3 years already
Best Christmas. White elephant so fun lacey passes out too many jelloshots.. she was like jelloclaus
Get a spot at the bar ask for Fitz and it’s a great time. Visiting from Boston, came here because Google Maps has it advertised as a jazz club (my thing), and it is not a jazz club. However, Monday nights is a jam session with local musicians and it turns into a fun blues/funk atmosphere.
Chicken and waffles were amazing. They’re a hit or miss in the wild due to breading, chicken quality and waffle quality but Tupelo does it so well. Chicken is juicy and breaded light and crispy, waffles aren’t too heavy but have a great crisp to fluffy ratio. 10/10
Always a fun time on Tuesdays, Kareoke while the DJ play a slew of instruments. DJ.Purple can make anyone sound good lol
Great local stop with good bartenders. Excited that they now play the Saints game on Sunday! Too check them out!
This place was a highlight of my visit to San Francisco. You have to go to the Dj karaoke 🎤 night! That guy is phenomenal! Helping you with saxophone solos and smoke displays. But if your song sucks he will skip you. He will eventually let you up. But if the vibe is good you will have to wait for a poorly preformed song. But his right hand woman was incredible 😲. Please go here and give the excellent bartenders a shout out. And tip this God of a Dj any loose money you have. A great time was had by all. I didn't pick what they thought was a good song and I got skipped. But when I got on I destroyed the place. Thanks for the memories. If you have read this far thank you. You have been great I have been Mike C!!!
Monday night live band was very fun, great musicians. Spiral Mike and Sophie Powers made it great. The camaron empanadas were tasty for bar food. Wings and tots smelled good. I'll drop in when there's a chance to catch some live music again.
Tues night is a vibe. Saxophone karaokie with a really fun crowd! This place had it all: good singers, bad singers and solid dive bar accentse. Bartenders were fast and funny. Only thing: Wine is okay but not great 😌
Went here on a Tuesday night and had a GREAT time! I love dancing and karaoke, and they combine both for a rather enjoyable club karaoke experience on Tuesday nights! DJ Purple is one of the best in the Bay Area! Drinks are moderately priced and the bartenders are nice. Great dance vibe too! Definitely coming back!
Good atmosphere, nice staff, okay-ish prices.
The Karaoke Tuesday Night is amazing. We had a lots of fun. Unfortunately, the prices for drinks are a bit too high in my opinion. Food prices are pretty low but we didn’t try the food. Would definitely recommend the Bar
Visited Tupelo's to hear some live music from The Hired Guns. It was a Saturday night, near capacity at 10:00 like most venues around Grant and Green. Great performance from the band, with the owner appearing as a special guest. He shreds on the harmonica. Wish we would have arrived a bit earlier when the kitchen was still open, didn't get a chance to try the food. Place is clean and well lit. Friendly staff. Will definitely come again for another sbow.
Most of the people who work there are cool but was spoken to by one rude bartender lady telling me to get out and dogs aren’t allowed I explained they are service dogs but preceded to tell me to leave and was really nasty on New Year’s Day. I would avoid this place if you want good vibes..
We had a promising start at this bar, thanks to a friendly bartender who made conversation and even let us sample some beers. Unfortunately, when her shift ended and another bartender took over, the experience went downhill fast. He wouldn’t make eye contact, which made ordering a challenge. When we finally got his attention and tried to order food, he listened to my friend’s order and then just walked away without even asking me what I wanted. When the food arrived, one of us got sauce, while the other didn’t. When we asked for the missing sauce, he simply told us the kitchen was closed. I’ve never encountered such an unfriendly bartender. It really seemed like he didn’t want to be there at all. Maybe he should find a job he actually enjoys. If you see a bartender with light skin, a beard, and glasses—run, don’t walk.
Upon arriving with the intention of joining a gathering with my coworkers, I was denied entry by the security individual despite presenting my valid CA mobile driver's license (mDL) as proof of identification. Despite being of legal drinking age, I was informed by the security personnel that entry was denied due to the lack of a physical ID, citing a supposed legal requirement As a resident of California, I am aware that mobile driver's licenses are legally recognized forms of identification in our state, and there is no requirement for a physical ID to enter a licensed establishment. This misinformation resulted in not only a disappointing experience for me but also caused me to miss out on a valuable opportunity to socialize and connect with my coworkers. Avoid!
