Zzan San Francisco Reviews
If you travel san francisco don't forget this restaurant, very close to the union station. Delicious food we ordered spicy pork BBQ, soft TCFU and veggies fry dumplings. Very simple and cozy place.
This place is amazing. From the second I opened the takeout bag, I could smell the seafood pancake and sweet kalbi. The seafood pancake was so crispy and full of toppings. The kalbi was fall of the bone. I'm salivating thinking about the meal I had again. The tofu soup was also good but the japchae was overcooked. There is a slight wait but I think it is worth it.
I am visiting from NYC and I just ordered some food as minute meal through Uber Eats before I return back. I never expected this to be one of the best things I’ve ever eaten, and that’s coming from someone who frequents Ktown in NYC. I got the creamy rice cakes and cheese sticks. Absolutely the best meal I’ve had in SF. Food came so warm and tasted amazing. Extremely lucky to have tried this place right before leaving, and just goes to show how they value their quality as the food was perfect even as late as 12 AM. Didn’t even get to take pictures because the food was devoured so quickly! Must visit for sure!
Had a good time eating and drinking here. The beef short Rib was tender full of flavor and had a nice grill marks for that little char. Spicy pork wasn't overpowering good flavor. Cold noodle with kimchi hit the spot for me but if I want to be nitpicking flavor wasn't as delicious as the other dishes. And not to many side dishes like other Korean restaurant I've been to. The side of kimchi was so good. Overall I was happy and the food came out quickly.
Went here after watching a show in the area. A small quaint place that is open till late. The servers were really nice and friendly. We got kinchi fried rice with chicken and spicy sauce boneless fried chicken. The spicy sauce was more sweet and less spicy and I wish it were the other way around but overall food was decent.
I thought that the barbecue bulgogi was excellent. I've been to many Korean places and this is one of the best. The spicy pork barbecue has been described by Koreans as the same as in Korea. I must agree with them. Service was very fast and friendly. Location is ideal. They do a lot of takeout I believe. Try it I think you will be happy.
Found ZZAN off of yelp and it was good for a late night option. Two of us ordered: takyoyaki $8, not very good, would avoid dolsot bibimbap $17 pork tofu soup with ramen $18, not much pork fried chicken $24 soda $2.50 Overall, flavors were good. Wish their tofu soup had more meat. Staff was friendly. Street parking only.
Located in San Francisco’s Lower Nob Hill, ZZAN offers a mix of traditional and modern Korean dishes. Here’s what stood out during my visit: Cold Noodle Soup: The cold noodle soup is a refreshing choice, especially during warmer weather. The generous portion of noodles combined with kimchi creates a satisfying and tangy flavor. It’s a must-try for those seeking a cooling dish. Beef Soft Tofu Soup: While the cold noodle soup stole the show, the beef soft tofu soup didn’t disappoint either. The broth lacked a strong fragrance, but the flavor was decent. It’s a comforting option, although it doesn’t stand out as much as the cold noodle soup. Broth fragrance could be improved.
The vibe was quite nice as a Korean pub but it's quite noisy. The food was good, although not the best. I had a better bibimbap in LA. The taste was quite bland but still taste better than "ok". My food was quite slow. My tablemate almost finished the meal but I haven't got my bibimbap.
I’ve been to this restaurant many times, both dining in and ordering takeout, and the food has always been delicious. The staff are generally friendly and provide good service, which is why I keep coming back. However, I’d like to share a couple of concerns from my recent experiences. The last time I dined in, I left a cash tip, but I was not given a receipt to review or sign. Later, I realized that an additional 18% tip had been added to my order, even though I had already tipped in cash. This time, I called in an order for pickup. I ordered fried chicken and specifically requested the sauce on the side, along with the regular spicy pork BBQ. Unfortunately, the order I received was not prepared as requested. Overall, the food is great and the staff are kind, but I hope the restaurant can be more careful with order accuracy and billing details in the future.
This is a solid Korean spot with very typical Korean flavors—nothing mind-blowing, but everything tasted good and hit the spot. One big plus is that they’re open late, which makes this a great option if you’re having a late-night craving and don’t want fast food. For that alone, it’s a pretty reliable choice. That said, the service was just okay. The female server we had came across a bit cold and slightly mean, not very warm or welcoming. That said… I guess that’s kind of a thing with some Korean restaurants, so it wasn’t totally shocking—just don’t expect overly friendly service. Also worth noting: the location isn’t the safest, as it’s in a rougher part of SF. Parking is street-only, so I’d recommend coming with others and being mindful, especially at night. Overall, a good late-night Korean food option if you know what to expect and plan accordingly.
Nice little restaurant with quick service. Perfect for satisfying your hunger fast. The food we had was good enough for that purpose – more on the fast-food side than fine dining, but tasty if you want something quick. The boneless chicken was “okay” but a large portion, and the rest we tried was also fine. Generous portions overall.
“I have been eating at Korean restaurants for nearly five years, but I have never experienced food and service this bad anywhere else. Even for a Korean restaurant, the service was extremely poor, which was very disappointing. There is a serious need for improvement in both the food quality and customer service.”
Only reason i even gave them a 2 star rating for the atmosphere was due to it being a peaceful hangout location. The individuals working there are extremely rude, unprofessional and unproductive. You can ask them for suggestions or even questions about your dish and it’s seems that it’s a problem. The employees demeanors and approach need to be worked on A LOt. I’m here in SFO for a business trip and recommended this location to my company for a party of 15 and i will definitely be withdrawing the suggestion because of how rude the woman employees are in there. The negligence and incompetent responses and attitude are not necessary.
I went here because of the great reviews, but it didn’t meet expectations. The beef brisket soup was the only good dish. The bibimbap was bland, and the rice was mushy and slightly brown. The fried boneless chicken was soggy, greasy, and tasted like old oil. The soy garlic sauce was watery and sour. We couldn’t bring ourselves to finish the meal because it was that bad. Service was also non-existent. Overall, except for the soup, the experience was not great. Won't be back.
