Las Comadres Santa Maria Reviews
I loved the place! I've lived many years in El Salvador and visited many places across the us and this is most I've ever felt like home! The ambient was great, the food tasted just like salvadorean food and the people are nice! I found my new favorite restaurant!!
This was the first time eating Salvadorian food so can't comment on how authentic the taste was but I really liked the taste. New thing for me were the papusas which are the stuffed bread with cheese beans and if desired meat. The ensalada drink was very nice too (reminded me of indian drink aam-panna, sweet and tangy drink made from mango and mint leaves. They had apple pieces in it too.)
Stopped by this salvadorian restaurant on the way home. Didn't get pictures of our pupusas plate just because we gobbled it up super fast. It was just that good! Had their revueltas pupusas, tamal and platanos. Yummmm!!! Looked like it was a pretty popular place for the locals. Staff were really nice when taking our order. Pupusas take a while to make when they're fresh. These were not pre-made frozen! Super good!
Food was absolutely delicious. Had the Tipico Salavadoreno plate. The meat was tender, juicy and flavourful. The hand made tortillas were fresh and tasty. Highly recommend.
Salvadorean Here ✋️ The food was AMAZING I've been living in the US for 2 years now and I missed salvadorean food so much. This place literally made my heart so happy 🥺 We tried pupusas, sopa de res, and yuca Frita con chicharrones, and everything tasted like home ❤️ I'm definitely becoming a frequent customer 🤣
I drove from Santa Barbara for these pupusas and I am not disappointed! The food was amazing and the service was too! We got here close to closing and the staff checked on us at least six times. 10/10 recommend
Friendly service, good pupusas, tamales, and licuados. The Tipico Salvadoreno was really nice as well. Reasonable prices and quality food. The manager even changed the channel from Telenovelas to kids programming so we could have a nice quiet meal.
The pupusas are fantastic here. Never had them before but absolutely will go back and bring more people. You get quite a lot of food for the money so the value for your dollar is way up there. The people working here are very accommodating and nice. The menu is in English and quite large but not too much on it. The friend plantains are so tasty don't miss those. On my way out I let them know the food was very delicious and they kindly thanked me for my business and said they hope I come back A+ place and locals definitely seem to frequent this place as well. Don't miss out on Las Comadres
This place is amazing and worth drive whenever I am visiting my family in Paso Robles. The pupusas and rice are amazing!! Love this place!!!

This place is phenomenal The pupusas were excellent, the pre meal chips and salsa had exceptional salsa, and the tamale that also came along with combination number 1 was perfect. Lovely ladies providing great service, if you've never tried a pupusa this is the place to start or if you're already a pupusa lover, even better!
Definitely the best pupusas in town prepared by the sweetest people! We've been coming here for years & are never disappointed. My favorite is the #2 combo...2 pupusas with everything, creamy refried black beans & simple yet delicious rice. My husband always gets the plantanos fritas with sour cream & beans. The owner is precious & will greet you with a big smile full of genuine happiness when you come in. Her kind disposition makes the experience even more special...please support this amazing, local business when in the area!
Super friendly and courteous staff, food was excellent! Worthy the trip from Palmdale, CA.
This Salvadorian restutant was recommended by a friend, and OMG, THE food was AAMAZING !!! I've only had realll good puposasa once, and most are decent, but these pupusasa were the best I've ever had ! Now when traveling from Bakerfield to Pismo Beach. I will forever start coming here. I also ordered the " TIPICO SALVADOREN̈O plate, and the flavors were sooo enriching ! I was honestly surprised. We arrived when they opened on a Saturday, and with in 30 mins, this place started to get packed. That says a lot about a place. So I would definitly recommend this place for SOMETHIJG DIFFERENT AND Delicious!!! Thank you !!!
Amazing food and priced reasonably! My favorite place in Santa Maria. My daughter loves their take on tamales and horchata😍
This place right here is A MUST. Very good pupusas and dishes. I mainly go for the popusas i would recommend the #3 on the menu. 5 strong stars
The pupusas here are out of this world! ALL of the agua frescas are a must try. Awesome customer service as well. I'll definitely be coming back :)

Food is good but a bit pricey and the pupusas are greasy so watch out lol. They don't give enough of the pickled vegetables for the 2 big pupusas you get but other than that the food is good. I liked their rice the best it has good flavor to it. The beans are to soupy and runny almost like they put them in a blender.
The cheese and bean stuffed pupusas are amazing. This time I tried the fried yucca, tasted like the best French fries ever. The tamales were different, but excellent. My only complaint is they don't have anything spicy.
It is a typical Salvadorian restaurant food. It is authentic as you can make it. There are the tapestry pictures depicting life in El Salvador. There are other newer pictures depicting people as well. Food is varied. Pupusas are ok. Had the plátanos but they were not ripe-a bit on the green side making the plátanos not appealing. You should taste the sweetness of the plátanos mix with the crema and pureed beans. But not this time. They do not serve water. They sell you Kirkland water instead. Something not so welcoming, but it's their business.
