I Capitelli Sarzana Reviews
I've been to Ristorante Capitelli in Sarzana several times, and every experience has been excellent. I've tried the meat, seafood, and seasonal menus: all truly excellent, with carefully crafted dishes, quality ingredients, and well-balanced flavors. The prices are absolutely fair, commensurate with the level of cuisine and the overall experience: they're not high, but simply fair for what's on offer. Frankly, I struggle to understand some of the reviews or low ratings; probably not everyone understands what it means to dine at a high-end restaurant, where quality, technique, and research are paramount. For me, it remains a trusted source of inspiration in Sarzana, a place I always gladly return to and recommend without hesitation.
Having arrived well past 2:00 PM, the four of us chose two appetizers: porcini mushroom salad with Grana Padano and culatello with aged Parmesan, both exceptional ingredients. Next came two risottos with red shrimp, a risotto with porcini mushrooms, and a tortello, all perfect. To finish, a fillet flambéed at the table (old school but still fascinating). The staff were professional. The bill was adequate for the quality of the food.
If you're passing by, stop by. The food is delicious, the dishes are well-prepared, the atmosphere is wonderful. Fried porcini mushrooms, Ligurian-style rabbit, potato cake with porcini fondue, slow-cooked suckling pig, mango and rum sorbets—what can I say, everything is delicious. Thanks again, guys.
On the cobbled streets of Sarzana, in the historic center, a very charming and welcoming place. Young but very knowledgeable staff. I was really impressed by the imperial fillet prepared right at your table. Interesting dishes, with bold combinations that work great. Congratulations, guys!!!
Renovated restaurant with more seating inside. We're loyal to this restaurant because if you're looking for top-notch quality, you'll find it here! Excellent fish, unique dishes, and divine truffles! If you're looking for a mouth-watering dessert, try the creamy chestnut and persimmon cream. So delicious!!!!!!!!! The owners are unique and the girls are top-notch.
Food with a story behind, starting from the production of the raw ingredient. That is what makes a whole difference regarding Italian cuisine. The Capitelli Is a good example of this. All in the marvellous background of a beautiful ancient town worth a good walking visit. Thank you!!
Nice place, quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Excellent food and wine. Price is appropriate for the location.
A good restaurant, with a pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff. There were a few glitches in the table setting and a few imprecisions in the execution of the dishes, but they were still good. The prices were a bit high. Only two starters and a glass of wine with coffee were included, but it was a good rating.
We had lunch outside on a quaint little street in Sarzana, a quiet area away from traffic. The staff were welcoming, and the owner was very courteous and accommodating to every request. The dishes were excellent, from fish to meat, and even vegetarians were not disappointed. The wine list was worthy of the menu. In short, we'll definitely return to try other dishes.
Good meals, good service, fine quality fish and selected wines, not inexpensive.
Very chic restaurant with super trained staff, food with small portions and a slightly high price. If you want to save money or have a large meal, I would not recommend it. Central location.
As soon as we arrived, we were escorted to the upstairs dining room. During service, we also noticed a hair on the edge of one of the plates, which we politely asked to be replaced. We ordered seafood dishes, which turned out to be prepared with frozen products. The tagliolini with lobster, in particular, were poorly combined and disappointing, as were the other dishes. Furthermore, there were six of us instead of seven due to an unexpected event, and as soon as we were seated, we were rudely reminded that this would create table management issues. The comment, accompanied by the suggestion that "those outside the industry wouldn't understand," was inappropriate and embarrassing. In conclusion, an unsatisfactory experience, mediocre quality, and high prices.
The prices are incredibly high and completely out of proportion to the quality of the offerings. The tagliolini with white truffle were delicious, costing €40, but that's understandable. The raw fish was only half-delicious, the shellfish "aged" and the Venere rice tasted like it was in the fridge. Then I paid €30 for two side dishes: €15 for a very ordinary mix of sautéed vegetables and another €15 for a mixed salad that I assure you was straight from the bag, with inedible Styrofoam tomatoes (how can you do that?!?). Oh, please. It's a joke. It's not my first time dining here, and my previous experiences have been similar.
