Ristorante La Ruota Scalenghe Reviews
Authenticity, simplicity, wonderful memories, and the friendliness of the waiters and owner!!! Sunny, joyful, and generous people. Congratulations, I've known you for over 30 years and nothing has changed!!! A truly beautiful and wholesome evening...just good food, lots of conversation and smiles, nothing of the new reality!!! The good old days rediscovered...well done, and thanks again, Fabrizi.
Even though we live 40 km away, whenever we can organize a lunch or dinner at La Ruota, we always do so with pleasure and enthusiasm. Today we celebrated my son and dad's birthday, a perfect occasion to enjoy an excellent lunch featuring authentic and delicious dishes, generous portions with the option of seconds, homemade and fresh food, impeccable service, and excellent value. Beppe, the owner, is a wonderful person, kind and helpful, and makes you feel at home. We'll return whenever we get the chance.
It's an old place, but we don't make a big deal out of it. (If you want a trendy place, go elsewhere.) The food is good, old-fashioned; it's not refined, it's not stellar, but it's good. We discovered this place thanks to a friend. We were there today and we'll be back this weekend. If you're looking for an old-fashioned experience, I highly recommend it. If you're looking for a sophisticated, chic place, I don't recommend it. What I like most about this place is the service. The staff couldn't be friendlier!!! Today we were served by a really nice guy, he spoke from the heart, he noticed if there were any drinks left on the table and without saying a word, he brought it to you. Well done!!! If you plan on booking overnight, it's pointless; it's always full. You need to book at least a week in advance.
We had a family reunion in October 2025. When we booked, it wasn't mentioned that my partner and I were vegetarian, but despite this, the staff promptly served us an equal number of dishes, but without meat or fish. We were truly impressed. The food was very good and the staff were friendly. We left with full stomachs and in great spirits. It was a wonderful experience.

Food is realy good
What an amazing place to have dinner at! Typical piedmontese cuisine, one of the best if not the one that you can found around Turin. Helpful and smily staff, genuine food, fresh and delicious. Be …
Trattoria like it used to be. The dishes are served on a tray, everything is very good, and the portions are generous. The fritto misto is something special. The atmosphere is vintage but very clean. Friendly staff.
An old-fashioned Piedmontese restaurant, just the way I like it, with a set menu and waitresses moving between tables with large trays. Great for a family lunch, or a thousand-course meal for very little money. A very simple place, unchanged since 50 years ago, but I still like it that way because it reminds me of when I used to come here with my grandparents and all my relatives ☺️
Old school
As I remembered... despite the time, it's still the same restaurant! Of course, you can't expect gourmet dishes, but overall, it's perhaps one of the few restaurants that maintains an affordable menu for everyone, with very home-style cooking. The aesthetics of the dining rooms could be improved a bit... but I understand that if it works... it's fine. The basic Piedmontese mixed fried food isn't bad... they lose a bit on the first courses, which aren't great. The rest is also in line with the price for a complete menu of 5 appetizers, 2 first courses, fried food, and roasted meat... if you want. Desserts too. The house wine is so-so... but I repeat, for 23 euros, it's impossible to improve on the quality of the ingredients.
Nice Piedmontese restaurant
Reservation for a birthday, arriving at 9:30 pm. Once we're seated, they start bringing the food, one course after another, while you're still eating the previous dish. With the appetizers, it's still okay, but with the first course (a reheated and therefore overcooked risotto), having agnolotti with ragù on the same plate isn't nice. The same thing with the fritto misto, and on the same plate without even having time to taste it, the roast with the pale fries, to say the least, is on the table. After pointing this out, they tell us that there's a table of 90 people and they're having trouble, which is understandable, but at this point, if you don't know how to properly serve the other tables, you don't take so many. You can't even forget about asking for second courses, they'll just say, 'Yes, tomorrow.' I've been to this place before, and I was disappointed. It's been going on now because of the reputation it's built over the years. It was a shame, it was a good place.
The dessert speaks for itself from the photo. If you cook the pasta incorrectly, it's raw, just like in the photo. You can also clearly see from the photo that the fries were cooked incorrectly. It's hard to mess up fries and bring them to the table raw. The waitress said they had a large table that they couldn't handle, so we ate in such a hurry that while we were eating the appetizer, the first course arrived, while we were eating the first course, the second course arrived, and while we were eating the second course, the dessert arrived. The waitress insisted on not coming back after we'd finished, but rather putting the new course she brought on our plate. They say good things about it, but it's an old place stuck in the '90s, and the behavior has confirmed that we won't be returning, even if it were the last restaurant in Piedmont. P.S. The photos "speak" for themselves.
