Red's Donuts Seaside Reviews
Came here a few mornings ago to satisfy my donut craving. They have a decent sized selection of all your "older" favorite donuts like Old Fashions to more of your newer favorites. The prices are decent and the service was helpful, friendly and professional. They also serve cold drinks and hot coffee. There is a small, "clean" area to sit and dine in if you desire to as well. Donut craving definitely satisfied!
Delicious Donuts. Miss being near Reds, live in Salinas now, but stop by when in Seaside and Reds is open. Was always my go-to place for the best Donuts ever when I lived and worked in Del Rey Oaks.
Best Fresh donuts I have had in Years. The apple fritters and cream filled are Amazing, as are ALL! Very reasonable prices as well. The service and their kindness is also the Best. If you are a donut connoisseur, you will not be disappointed!
This is a strange, but friendly establishment. The whole time we were there, regulars were behind the counter grabbing their own plates and serving their own coffee. We felt like we were in a home kitchen. The donuts were delicious, service was great, and the atmosphere was wholly unique. We had a great time.
Juan, staff everyone was friendly and kind tasty donuts. My child was so happy she had the coconut donut and hot chocolate. Classic clown portrait paintings, stools with bar area made it feel like a local neighborhood experience.
Best donuts in the Monterey Bay area! Wednesday and Thursday they have a discount on a half-fancy/half-regular mixed dozen. Don't wait though, when they're gone, they're gone! We love tha apple fritters, custard-filled bars, and raspberry jelly filled donuts.
Always a staple when I come home to visit. The donuts have always been consistent. Grew up with a family who would buy dozens specifically from Red’s, so of course I had to take my son when we visited last time in October 2018!
Simply the best donut spot around. Great selection and great prices. There’s always a line when I get there and a line when I leave so they have to be doing something right.
The Red's Donuts in Seaside is my ultimate go to! Rosa is just the sweetest and so personable. I always leave with a smile they are just so friendly and cheerful, even in the early mornings when I pick up donuts!
Absolute best donuts in the area. I try to stop in whenever I'm working near by.
They have the best old fashioned donuts ever! Open early enough for me to snag on my way to work. I also really like that you can pre-order and pre-pay that way all you need to do is swing by and grab your bag!
Hard to beat Red’s.
Ermagerd! My one true weakness 😟. Donuts fresh lathered in glaze. Best on the peninsula. Better than the Monterey location. Better than what I’ve had out of town. Glaze is their specialty 👌🏾 Deals on Monday/Tuesday. Often stays open past ‘official’ close time until they’re sold out, or just wonna go home. Hardly ever past 5 though. Maybe call ahead to be sure during this window?
Amazing doughnuts! Great old-time bakery atmosphere! I loved going when it first opened on a Saturday morning! Everyone always loved getting Reds doughnuts when they visited us. Highly recommended.
Best donuts in town! The donuts they make are large and they are cheap too at 99¢ a piece! It's also a bit more accessible than the Downtown location in my opinion. Highly recommended!
Swung by here for a donut while in Monterey. It was busy and looked like a local favorite. The donuts and coffee were fabulous. Fresh and tasty. Staff was busy but helpful and assisting when needed. Parking can get a little tight.
The donuts here are absolutely delicious, and they sell fast, so get there as early as you can. We got a few different ones to try out (maple frosted (both custard filled and not), raspberry filled, lemon filled, buttermilk, and a sugar donut), and aside from the Buttermilk, I loved them all. The raspberry filled was the best raspberry filled I've had in years. I'll definitely go back for that one (and maple frosted just because I've always loved maple donuts).
I stopped here to buy my kid a filled raspberry doughnut and walked out with an apple fritter for myself. These doughnuts are huge! They're a bit messy but SO good! Glad there is a parking lot out back. There were quite a few people inside but we were served quickly.
Love the raised donuts! Fluffy and soft ❤️❤️. Lovely and nice staff too 😍
Was sick as a dog from the flu and was craving donuts. So ubereat a cinnamon donut and a glazed twist. Then I noticed they had a bagel sandwich too, so ordered a turkey avocado. It had so many layers of deliciousness, the bagel was crispy on the outside soft on the inside and literally cured me! I ate the donuts too fast to even get a photo, but they were so fresh, soft and the perfect amount of sweetness. Make sure you stop by Red's if you want the real deal!
The donuts are so good but also try the bagals everything is delicious at Reds.
Best donut shop!! Donuts were fresh and delicious.. Also staff was so friendly. I love this place. ^_^
An absolute classic. Variety of great donuts and the breakfast bagel is a must.
The staff are very nice! Also, there was a great selection of donuts! Thank you! --Andrea

Really tasty and fresh! We got a few of the “old fashioned” in different flavors, and they were perfect. We also got one of their glazed cinnamon rolls, which my husband said was excellent.
These donuts are so-o-o-o good. The lemon-filled is exquisite! The glazed buttermilk runs a close second. They are just so expensive (like everything else). As a child growing up in Los Angeles, the Helms bakery truck drove through the neighborhoods, and we got 3 cookies for a dime...and I think donuts were a nickel. Those were the days!
More than donuts. They have bagel breakfast sandwiches which are very affordable compared to Monterey. Limited seating, but very efficient cooks so can handle plenty of takeout orders.
One of my favorite stops every time I come to visit!
Bomb Donuts. You’d think there just donuts, but are they really? I live in an area where ‘good’ donuts are almost nonexistent. Recently traveled 1000 miles to visit family and said we were looking forward to hitting a good donut shop while in Ca. We were instantly referred to REDS. Absolutely excellent!! Definitely going back because I enjoy a good donut. Thanks Reds.!!

I love Reds donuts. My favorite are the apple fritters. The last few times I bought them I noticed very little if not any apples in the fritters. Usually get six apple fritters at a time. It was a little embarrassing that my guests didn’t find any apples in them either.
Donuts are good! I like the Dozen for $5 on Mondays and Tuesdays. Only thing is that the place is very small it gets crowded, if you park in front the parking is too small and people just leave their cars there to "quickly" get donuts blocking you.
It was great 👍 I would give it 5 stars if they had a wider variety of doughnut 🍩 flavors right before they close they will be sold out or have a few flavors left
Great donuts and good prices. Coffee and donuts. Yes please. I would give them a 5 if they were open longer and had a bigger selection. Great taste
Red's has great donuts! The twist is my favorite but I don't care for the old fashioned donut it's too crunchy and not enough of a "cake" feel. But otherwise I've enjoyed their donuts. Service is quick and friendly.

I know, I know...everyone says this is a MUST DO when visiting Cali. But, honestly, I'd pass on it. I love a good Donut (apple fritter actually), but I felt like these were too greasy and I left feeling sticky. The dine-in crowd was interesting though!
Do not favor their donuts. Just don't care for the taste. In my opinion, better choices are Marina Donuts in Marina, CA and Monterey Donuts near Fremont & Casanova St intersection. But, that's my opinion. Enjoy.
Just a basic donut place. Nothing fancy. It was just okay at best.
No, the emperor is not wearing any clothes, these Donuts are nothing special. About like safeway. Same big bag of cheap industrial donut mix that everywhere else uses. The staff is really hit or miss whether they'll be friendly or rude. Several times this month I had breakfast here, departed with a dozen and it was great. My new favorite. This morning they were pathetic, angry attitude from the lady behind the counter... literally eyerolling and sneering. I just left. No more money for you, Red's Donuts.

The most unfriendly bakery I’ve ever been to. The donuts were not any better than a typical grocery store donut. The staff was very rude. We were treated very poorly.
The spanish lady in front with bangs is so rude and rushing me and tell me in my face that i was so slow picking the dozen and it’s not even a minute, honestly I just came. It ruined my day. I want to call the manager but no one picking it up.
Came here on 11/25 and my family and I were served soggy and wet donuts. They were really disappointing and we ended ip tossing them.
The customer service is really bad and if u ask for a bagel she will just shove the jelly and cream cheese into a bag and hand it to you instead of making it like they do most of the time and the jelly is also really hard and not good.the donuts are good but the rest is horrible.
I was waiting in line behind a few white gentlemen waiting to buy doughnuts. The lady behind the counter helps out a white people then stops before she helps me and makes me wait 10 min for the other employee to clock into work I was so embarrassed. Be aware colored folks.
Very bad service 3 times in a row. We wanted to like them because the donuts are great, but I can’t support an establishment that treats you like trash every time. The majority of the customers are Hispanic which is completely normal and fine, but it is not fine to give preferential treatment to Hispanic customers that sneak up to the front of the line. The last 3 times I’ve gone I’ve been standing in line out the door just to see someone who walked up after me get taken care of before me. I can’t stomach to give this place another cent after my experiences with them
We stopped here on a road trip and paid $19 for a dozen of disappointing donuts 🍩. Service was decent; little old lady running it alone. Donuts are absolutely 💯 TERRIBLE. They tasted like 3 day old dry, dense bread with glaze on top. I spit it out , figured it wasn't worth the calories.
The donuts are good, when they have them. I'm here at 9:20am and once again they're out of the most basic donuts. No regular chocolate. No regular glaze. No chocolate bars. Honestly it's mind numbing. This is an every day thing and nothing has been done about it after many years of business. Today I had to settle on two glaze twists to finish out my dozen because THEY WERE OUT OF EVERYTHING. And the lady has the nerve to try and charge me an extra 2 dollars for taking something I didn't even really want. I complained and got the regular deal. But the whole thing is absurd. My wife loves this place. Just don't think I can continue giving them my business with such poor service. You can't be a donut shop without regular chocolate and regular glaze donuts. Get a hold of yourselves. You would make more money. That's what a business is about, isn't it? Not here I guess.
