Good afternoon lovely people! I’m new resident of Spring tx,. Last night entered this place for the first time, ordered a soft shredded chicken taco and omg let me tell you’ll, I absolutely love their salsa verde, salsa roja 😋😋 and chips . muy rico todo! Complements to whom prepared the salsa Que rico🙌🙌❤️ you gotta try it!! 💯
By far the best around. We came here shortly after moving to Texas and immediately fell in love with the food. Not one thing stands out because it was all so good ( over multiple visits lol) Leticia serves my whole family and knows exactly what we like. If she’s working, ask for her. You won’t regret it. I’ve eaten at the bar a few times and the drinks are always delicious. If you’ve never had margaritas, try the flight. The flavors are good, but be warned, they’re sneaky. It’s a big open seating area and the conversation can carry so don’t expect peace and quiet most of the time HOWEVER it’s not obnoxious or uncomfortable by any stretch. Protip: Chapachanga, fajita chicken, extra sauce.
Food is great, very consistant. I eat here once or twice a year. Good margaritas as well. Staff was very friendly. Salsas are great. Its a little more pricey compared to other local tex-mex, but its worth it once in a while.

This is HANDS DOWN best Mexican Food in all of Houston! Not only is the food 10/10 Every Visit, it's the greeting you get when one is just dining alone wanting to just get away for the moment. I can't say enough about this place. It's fantastic for large parties, but escapable enough for loners like me lol! I love it! Top Knotch Service, PHENOMENAL FOOD EVERY time! Today I was greeted by the lovilest lady who just let me go to sit where I wanted and said you just find where you like, I'll follow! Always the best experience. I've brought my daughters and friends and experience never disappoints. Come 1, or come all! would rate 11stars if could! Gracias El Chapparo!
Very yummy food. Excellent customer service everyone is so friendly and the prices are reasonable! Great first experience. Definitely will be back! Our waitress Maria H. was great she went beyond to make our experience excellent.

Parking here is limited. If there’s a wait, you can seat at the bar til your table is ready. Their Serrano margarita was surprisingly delicious! I also got the signature Rita, it was equally as delicious. I ordered the 1/2 rack of baby back ribs. The sauce in the ribs was very good. Flour tortillas tasted fresh and homemade. Their chicken fajitas were very tender and juicy. I highly recommend this restaurant!
Food was delicious and service was great, but the drinks were weak. Hopefully next time they are stronger. Order the guacamole appetizer, it's worth it. (Tampico dinner)

This is my new favorite Tex-Mex place in the NW Houston area!! We used to love going to Los Cucos, but they aren’t as good as they used to be. Pappasito’s raised their prices and now doesn’t seem as worth it. We came here to El Chaparro and were blown away by the service, food quality, and just overall experience. The nachos were awesome, the chips and salsa were also amazing, and our waiter was super friendly and helpful. We’ll be coming back here every time we visit Houston!
Had a great evening dinner with my family. Orders ranged from puffy tacos, tamales, chicken enchiladas and, yes, even breakfast of Huevos Rancheros. Thanks to El Chaparral Mexican Restaurant on Gosling just east of Kuykendahl. The chips were crispy and salsas we're good and not to spicy. Thanks for a great dinner. We'll be back!!!
Great service, great vibes, and just good, fresh tasting food. We'll seasoned, no need to add more. Has become one of my go to places. Lunch specials for the cheap folks..lol..overall a great bargain for the quality you receive
I’ve been coming here for about a year now. This place has been pretty consistently good. It’s one of the best places for stuffed avocado and their margaritas are pretty good. The salsa is also good, so in my case they check all the boxes on a good Mexican restaurant in Houston.
Building was nice and spacious. Prefer other spots for fajitas.
Ambiance: Local Mexican restaurant with an indoor/outdoor area - we sat on the patio because the lights & decor were quite festive! Loved the stuffed & fried avocado! Great portion sizes for the price. Service was fast & good. Parking onsite - definitely a spot that gets crowded on a Saturday night. We enjoyed the chips & house salsas. Sangria Rita was huge and a good price. I would recommend El Chaparro if you are in the Spring area and wanting Tex-Mex!
Great place for top shelf margaritas. The staff is always attentive and kind. This place is a staple when I visit Houston. We tend to go sleepy-time after......too much food & yummy margaritas!
We’ve always enjoyed visiting for Friday night margaritas, or just coming in for a casual Saturday meal. A great place to bring the kids. Food is a little on the salty side depending on what you get, but the prices are reasonable.
Really cool place... Friendly waitress.. Prices aren't bad. Out door seating is really nice. Food itself was pretty good.
Service at the location is great. They are attentive and helpful. The atmosphere is like other mexican resturants, mexican vibe. Many seats inside, outside and a bar. The food it good. Many options on the menu and several options mexican food and american food for the kids.
BIG CHANGES. Apparently the New Owner is LOWERING QUALITY AND RAISING PRICES i order to recoup cost to purchase. We were DONE last month. Price increases EXCESSIVE. FOOD Quality/Flavor gone. Service, so-so. BUT, my son and family came in and wanted El Chap. (Been going there since the steak house failed) A screw up on the BUG order, only 1 small thing of beans(charro soup - few beans) small guac, and pico. For 5 FIVE DINNERS ? Hugely OVERPRICED
I don’t like to give negative reviews, however this place is a rip off! They can do better for these prices. Meat in crispy taco was mush, been sitting on heat/holding pan too long. Beans were sour. Although, the chips and salsa are some of my favorite in the area. Service is always pretty good. If you’re going to serve sub par food, then lower your prices. It actually made me sick because it was not very fresh.
It should not cost over $50 for two people to eat such cheap food. There was no gourmet made food in the plates served. El Chaparro had a forever client in me until my last meal. Three faj beef enchiladas for $20 and a plate of faj chicken nachos for another $20. Another over $7 for tea and a soda. The food was bland for the price and not made very well. This same meal is served for half this cost at other places. The tipping is expected at 20% or higher for service that visits your table just a couple of times. I will not return due to the heavy pricing.
