Besos Staten Island Reviews
Beso!!!!! Tapas on Staten Island absolutely delivers. Honestly, just about everything on the menu is a must-try—they really did their thing here. Even on a packed Saturday night, the service was solid and never felt rushed. What really stands out is how comfortable and enjoyable the dining experience is—you actually get to relax and enjoy your food, which isn’t always the case when a place is busy. This spot truly needs no introduction, but if you haven’t been yet, don’t walk… run. It’s a fantastic dining experience for groups of all sizes and one of those places you’ll want to come back to again and again.
We went to Beso Thursday night to more or less beat the weekend crowds. I dont know what's taken us so long to go back to this gem! We got there around 6:20 and sat at the bar. Mark, the bartender informed us that we had a few minutes left to grab the Happy hour specials. Even though we were set on get the prefixe menu, we couldn't resist the Happy hour appetizers. The lamb chops were done to perfection. The enchildas were plentiful and tasty. We still ordered the prefixe as we like to enjoy the food the next day gor lunch or dinner. I'm doing thinking of the clams and chorizo! The broth was beyond amazing! The Limon chicken was not your basic boring chicken. It was tender and tasty, off the hook! From start to finish everything was A+. Mark was fabulous, the food was hot and served quickly. We will not be hesitating the next time we go out... we're going back to Beso!
Went with a group of friends I hadn’t seen in years. The restaurant was EXTREMELY accommodating. That alone made it five stars for me. Then the food was amazing and the service was great. Would highly recommend.
Haven't been to Beso in over 10 years and it did not disappoint! The food was absolutely amazing I can not think of one bad thing we ate. Their Tapas for menu was perfect and came with so much food. Can't wait to go back which will be very soon.
I’ve been to Beso in Staten Island several times, and I went again yesterday before a show at St. George Theatre. From making the reservation to the amazing food, service, and overall experience, everything was great once again. I was with a group of 8, and our waitress, Christy, was amazing—she took everyone’s food orders quickly, made sure we had everything we needed, and stayed on top of drink refills all night. Even though it was a very busy night, the food came out in a timely manner and everything tasted very fresh and delicious. I will definitely be going again and would highly recommend Beso to others.
Came in cold and hungry. Had a long day out in NYC with our kids and we found what we were looking for. Food was DELICIOUS, came quickly and great service. Would 100% recommend
Yesterday we had dinner at this beautiful restaurant, and I’m still thinking about it… Everything from the cozy atmosphere to the impeccable flavors was simply perfect. A special thank you to Laura for her warmth, attention, and wonderful recommendations. And to the chefs for creating dishes that were not only delicious but truly a feast for the eyes. If you’re in New York, make sure to visit this gem — it’s honestly one of the city’s finest 🤍
We tried the steak and empanada. For its flavor and freshness, this is a restaurant we'll return to regularly. The olive oil and olives served before the meal were some of the most delicious snacks I've had in a year. The service, by the way, is 5 out of 5. You feel right at home. It's a pleasant atmosphere where you can chat without rushing.
We decided to celebrate some career milestones at this upscale restaurant. Although it exceeded our expectations, it was an absolutely fantastic experience. The food was delectable, and the drinks were equally impressive. The service was prompt, and they even took pictures to commemorate our achievements. New York City is known for its high prices, so be prepared for a bit of a splurge.
Love Beso. The restaurant is spacious and has multiple rooms all decorated nicely. Their outdoor area is large, quiet and peaceful. The food is always delicious as well as the drinks. Occasionally the service is slow, sometimes the waiters will disappear for a good 20 minutes. Parking is tough. Be prepared to have zero phone reception so go with people you enjoy talking to. Love coming here.
Beso is an absolute gem! Cozy atmosphere, incredible food, and top-notch service. The tapas and entrees were bursting with flavor—every dish we ordered was devoured. The lamb chops were a standout: perfectly cooked, tender, and juicy. Drinks were strong, delicious, and expertly made. The waitstaff really made the experience special—friendly, patient, and always attentive without being overbearing. Can’t wait to come back!
Get the premium sangria pitcher- you won't be disappointed! We didn't try an entrees but a variety of tapas. Chicken empanadas could have have been a bit more flavorfull, the chorizo with bread was delicious and the pulled pork tapa with guac on top was amazing! They bring your bread to dip in olive oil- so good!
You are always guaranteed a good meal at Beso in St. George. They have an incredible selection of tapas in addition to a large dinner menu. Last night we had lamb chops (which I can never resist), chorizo, calamari, and Pan y Puerco (shredded pork topped with cheese and avocado pico de gallo), along with a bottle of Rioja. The restaurant is still beautifully decorated for the holidays and the service is top-notch, especially their manager - she’s a gem!
I had a great experience at Beso on Bay Street in Staten Island. We came to celebrate my aunt's birthday, and everything from the food to the service made it a really enjoyable night. Our waiter, Juan, was excellent – attentive and friendly without being overbearing. We started with calamari, lamb chops, and short rib egg rolls for appetizers. All were fresh, well-seasoned, and cooked just right. For the main course, I had the seafood avocado, and my aunt ordered the same. My cousin went with the paella de beso, my mom had the beef medallion, and the birthday girl enjoyed the Veal Serrano. Everyone was happy with their dishes – the food came out at the right temperature, and the flavors were spot on. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff helped make the evening feel special without too much fuss. I appreciate that the menu offers some customization, which makes it easy for everyone to find something they’ll like. Overall, it was a great spot for a celebration, and I’d definitely recommend it. Five stars from me, and I’m looking forward to coming back!
First off what an amazing place. The mother's day menu was a well thought out plan. Delicious also. I love the fact that I have a peanut allergy and I was okay to eat there. We were treated like family. The decor of this restaurant is to die for. Go there but make a reservation first so you can ensure you will get a chance to enjoy the greatness in store. Have fun!
Stopped in with some family we were visiting on the island. The aroma as we entered made me drool. The wait staff were friendly and very accommodating. We got a wonderful appetizer that was unique and tasty. The sangria is also tasty. We asked for red and white mix and it tastes really good. The meals are huge! Two people can eat one plate. Be prepared to come home full! The place itself is wonderfully decorated and they even have a back room that is almost outside seating. We will be back for sure!
Use to go to the old location all the time a few years ago. Haven’t been in years. Finally went back in February for my best friends birthday and was so happy to taste and see that the food is still just as good as it was years ago. This location is way bigger and so nice. The atmosphere is perfect. We went on a very slow weeknight but can imagine that on the weekends this place is very popular and busy. Loved every single dish and drink that we had.

I went to Besos Restaurant with a few relatives we had a previous reservation and the front desk lady guide us to our table on time. The food was delicious. My only complaint is the waitress got overwhelmed with a few customer tables on the day we visited and forgot our requested of more bread, we were waiting to ask somebody for a coke refill and also they didn't bring us steak knife only butter knife, the staff needs to improve of being more attentive to their customer's and ask how's everything and if you need something else.
We chose this place because it was close to the theater, and we didn't have a reservation. I highly recommend that you take the time to reserve a table. We were lucky since it was during a weekday. The hostess and waiter were friendly and attentive. My only negative point was when I asked if the dessert size was average or large. Our server hesitated to answer. I love the food and ambiance, and lastly, the price was not bad at all for 2 people, one cocktail, with tip 130.
This is a cute place with a decent amount of tables and a bar area. Parking on the street was hard to find. There is a fall menu but they didn’t print it out, you have to go online. They have two single bathrooms and one was out of order for most of the night so I had to wait for like 20 min to use the bathroom. Food was very good, most of what we ordered i liked a lot. In general prices a little bit more expensive than I thought they should be. Also our second round of drinks took 35 minutes to get to us. Apparently the bartender was on a break. Which is fine, they should take breaks but I’m surprised there was no one else that can make the drinks when the bartender is on a break at peak time on a Friday night. We were 4 people, ordered 6 tapas, one entree and two desserts to share and 2 rounds of drinks. It all came out to about 150 a couple. My favorite was the chorizo tapas. It was warm chorizo with cheese and sauce served hot. Very good. We got a cheese plate too but the chorizo on that plate was soft and powdery textured and cold. I also didn’t like the cheese on that plate or the other meats. But I did like the big green grapes. The meatballs on the special menu were very good, soft and flavorful. The chicken empanadas were my favorite. Normal sized empanada, about $4.50 each. Super crispy and flavorful. Moist and delicious. Some pieces of the chicken were chewy but most were really good. The short rib entree was cooked perfectly. Super soft and tender. A bit too salty. Piled high, good portion and also a big serving of pasta with it. Drinks were standout. I like the salted caramel espresso martini the best. So smooth and rich in flavor. Really tasted like salted caramel. Also the pumpkin spice martini was delicious. It was light and smooth and creamy all at the same time, and the fall spices were not over powering. For the salted caramel espresso martini when we ordered the second round we noticed the chunk of caramel garnish was left off. They said they ran out but later brought us a couple of pieces. The cannoli dip dessert was super big and great to share. The dip wasn’t too sweet but it was a bit too whipped for me and lacked a rich marscapone cheese flavor which I usually expect from cannoli cream. We left stuffed! I don’t know if I would come back again. But we definitely enjoyed our double date night!
I was there for Mother’s Day. The food was amazing and the service was great. The crew were okay but they didn’t look genuinely happy for some reason. I enjoyed the food and the music. The bathroom was clean. They did what they could, after all it was a busy day. I wish the server would smile more , even under pressure. That would make me feel more comfortable and welcomed.

The food was good and we have eaten there multiple times . However last night, when stopping by for food and drinks after work, while seated waiting for food , the waitress dropped something directly next to our table and apologized multiple times. I actually thought she dropped water and told her it’s ok. She never mentioned she dropped oil and when I got home I noticed my boots were destroyed and basically garbage at this point. Since she knew she dropped oil on my leather boots she should have mentioned it and since it’s dark inside it’s hard to see. I usually don’t write reviews but this was very unsettling
The newer place is beautiful. Haven't had a dinner there since they moved to 70 bay street, I have only ordered lunch 2x. The first time was ok so I decided nearly a year later to try a lunch option …

Food is overrated and just passable. The staff is not courtness and disrespectful. The prices are outrageous definitely not worth it.
We stopped in for Happy hour after visiting the outlets as we have several times in the past Sat at the bar that had a decent crowd Asked the bartender if Happy hour was only at the bar and was told Yes so we bellied up and ordered a fee glasses of wine Just Pinot Grigio nothing fancy but was surprised when the bill came and The wine was full price I asked the bartender to correct the bill and she informed me that the wine I ordered was not part of the “select” wines on the happy hour menu Should she not had informed us of this when we asked about the happy hour seating and ordered? I would have just ordered the bottle instead of glasses She did offer the managers phone number but even that I found ridiculous Bartender was a new young female This is where experience matters
I have to be honest with you I’ve been going there for years. The happy hour was very consistent. Today I went and I spoke to bartender about happy hour menu. I proceeded to sit at the bar for happy hour. I asked for the check, and I notice she charged me full price for the white wine. I asked her about it she told me that the wine I order was not on happy hour. I then told her we spoke about it. All she did was apologize. It was very unacceptable. I will not go back.
