My girlfriend and I have been here twice now and the food is incredible. We went today and the woman gave us a delicious piece of cake for free. Highly recommend.

Absolutely delicious!!! Highly recommend visiting Shorty”s for a taste of the Caribbean! The service was fast, friendly and knowledgeable of the products being sold. The restaurant was clean and the food was phenomenal! Best doubles in NY!!

Shorty's Roti Shop is a a community STAPLE! The food is made with so much love. Their doubles have a very special place in my heart. Marisa, the owner, is a wonderful individual with a big heart. She welcomes customers with a warm smile and a genuine sense of humor. This place is a true gem.

classic place to eat west Indian food on the island. Great service, authentic Caribbean staff and Caribbean attitude, I recommend doubles and polouri with tamarind sauce and spicy, roti with any curried meat. ting grapefruit soda and don't forget a patty with some cocobread.

Loved it. It's great that a place like this exists on Staten Island. Their doubles were great, just the right amount of kick. Their shrimp roti was very aromatic. My loved the boneless chicken curry roti. The macaroni pie was good, but not part of their highlight reel.

The owner is very nice. The food is always fresh and I love that I can call ahead. Every time I stop by the mother is always having me try new things- she’s so sweet! lol! It’s such a nice little neighborhood spot that’s perfectly priced for my budget.

So glad I found this spot. Can't believe they been here 25 years and I just find out now. Went this morning for some doubles and aloo pies. Doubles were bangin. Best I had in a long time. Marissa was working there and was so nice. I can't wait to go again and again and try the whole menu.

The woman I dealt with was very friendly and respectful. The doubles hit the spot my craving was definitely satisfied. However the last two times I passed by while in the area they were closed not sure of the reason why hence the 4 stars.

I ordered a chicken roti from this place because it had my trini flag on it. This place disappointed me so much it was the worst roti I ever had.I don’t see any curry in this roti,I had 1 bite and had to throw it away. In addition, the customer service was terrible, the lady at the front was very rude. I will never go there again and I certainly do not recommend it. Not even tamarind sauce could save this food. Just terrible🤢

This place is so unprofessional. Just look at how the owner tries and degrade their customers for giving an honest opinion about your business. The service is abysmal, the hours don’t really exist they open and close whenever they feel like it. That’s not how you should run a business so instead of wasting time trying to respond to me and this review, do better because the other Caribbean restaurants around are taking all your customers one by one…

This place just needs to close at this point. The hours are definitely wrong and I noticed they are now on DoorDash lol like WHYYYY. Save your time and money not to mention FOUR DOLLARS FOR A DOUBLE and a DOLLAR EXTRA FOR TAMARIND OR PEPPER . SERIOUSLY LIKE SERIOUSLY. Thats like McDonalds trying to charge you a dollar for ketchup on your burger it’s just ridiculous at this point. For this establishment to been here for sometime now and overcharge and do they’re local customers how they do is truly sad.

I tried shorty but the curry roti was nasty it was tasteless. Shorty Roti shop was a hit back in the days. The seasoning was off completely. Maybe you guys change the cook I am not sure. I hope you get back to what it use to be like back in the days. Sorry from 1 to 10 I give you (1). The service was good

Service, food, the place it self TRASH!!! I absolutely disappointed that they had the audacity to call this "authentic Trini Cuisine ". Food was old like no on purchased all day, just nasty. The lady is half pleasant who serves you, but don't ask any questions, or the tongue lashing comes out IMMEDIATELY!! I ate the disrespect, paid my money, but could not eat the food!!🤮🤮🤮.I spent about 70 bucks for 3 roti, and 3 drinks, I tried to look past their dingy dreary atmosphere, and still show patronage, but i wish I had turned around and walked out like my first mind had told me. NEVER AGAIN!! I love my people, and try support at every chance I get, but I wish I had read a few reviews first, those people were right! And the she replies to every negative comment, as if she was right! This woman and her small business is laughable. Eat here at your own risk!!

I am only here to comment on the service. I am a Brooklynite with West Indian parents. So I was happy to see this restaurant when I moved to Staten Island over 18 years ago. But I have to say that I am angered and disappointed every time I step foot in this restaurant. The service is horrible. I ended up walking out the last time I went in to buy roti skins because I was ignored and the yelled at for tapping on the glass to get service. Today at approximately 1:20 on Diwali, I was told they have no roti skins and the response was like I was bothering her for asking what time they would have it available. This is my last time stepping foot in this restaurant and I am on the way home to make my own roti skins. #Neversoendmoney&be mistreated.

Terrible Experience at Shorty's Roti Shop Look closely at the stars... they are either 1 or 5—something wrong here. I had the most disappointing experience at Shorty's Roti Shop. The food was absolutely spoiled, likely because it had been sitting out for too long. Even the roti skin wasn’t fresh—it tasted old and stale. The curry was beyond awful; it had such a horrible smell, almost like feces. I couldn't believe they were serving this to customers. When I politely asked for a refund, I was told that once I left the store, I couldn’t get a refund or even credit for a future visit when the food might be fresh. This is unacceptable. If you're a fellow West Indian looking for a good meal, buy at your own risk. I definitely won’t be going back. Response to owner: Your response is disappointing and untruthful. No real Trinidadian eats a roti in a container to stay—it's simply not our culture. You also verified my purchase, so these events absolutely did occur. Trying to twist the story only makes your response look worse; denying the incident entirely might have been a better choice. Also.... Threatening over a roti? That’s not extortion—I’m a Trini, not a dumb Trini."

Service was ok, food was terrible. Ordered the jerk chicken, it was more like stew chicken with too much gravy and the chicken inside was still bloody, no flavor just spicy had to throw it away after 2 bites. And it's $20 for a small order with no sides. Ordered a curry goat roti, had no flavor and too much bones. The doubles were ok. First and last time buying from here.

Went to buy some currence roll for my coworkers today.....unfortunately it was not as good as they have made it before in the past, I am not too sure if the ingredients were not properly used or the ingredients were changed, it had an unusually weird taste to it and my coworkers really didn't approve of it as much. However the food they make still comes out the best as well as their friendly service. Today: 6/20/20 star rating has dropped down by 3 because of unprofessional customer service the young lady has performed today.
