The Caprice Tiburon Reviews
I can't even lie this place is great! Good ambience and vibe. Only thing bad, maybe, was they had no music playing. We had a 5:30 reservation and that was early because we were one of the first couples there. But once the night started going it got really busy. I'm sure it was a full house. We had a seat on the side next to the windows in the corner. Make sure you get that one because it is the best view in the house. The view! Probably one of the best views in the bay to be honest. As you can see from our pictures you could see the Golden gate bridge and downtown San Francisco really well. At night the bridge lights up and it gives this real old nostalgia feeling while you're eating your food. Speaking of the food it was good we started with the tuna carpacio... FIRE🔥! Then we had the Caesar salad and it was really good. I had a ribeye that was a little thin to my liking but I can see it being a cut that other people would eat. It was really good, but they had to it back because it was overcooked. Then the second time they brought it back, it was undercooked but that was a easy fix from there. I eat my steaks medium nothing more nothing less lol. Definitely worth the money. My wife had a New York strip and it was better than my ribeye. Overall this is a really good place for a date night and I recommend it!
Wednesday is the perfect night to go! Although we had reservations the crowd was pleasant. Food and service were amazing! Only thing more spectacular is the views!!!! Will be there again soon!
I have visited this place many times, and every visit feels outstanding. The staff is warm, attentive, and always makes you feel welcome. The seafood dish I tried was remarkable, rich in flavor and served in a large portion. Their menu offers great variety, so everyone can find something they enjoy. I will surely return and share my positive experience with others!
The Caprice has been home to the most incredible views for decades. In addition to some restaurant regulars are the old-school, starched white shirt/black pants-clad waitstaff who are always friendly. Lots of great seafood choices and salads on the menu. I wish they had French fries to accompany a few of their dishes, though their potato purée is lovely. It tends to be an older crowd of diners in general. Watching the ferry and a scoop of pelicans skim the water are always incredible to see out the window, and the evening view is also sweet with the twinkling lights of the city.
Really enjoyed the ambiance, food and service here. Made reservations through Google maps / Resy and we actually got there a lot earlier than expected. They were able to take us early for dinner. Enjoyed the bread, baked oysters, Brussels sprouts, rib eye, scallops and chocolate cake. Everything was delicious and very fresh. Parking is tricky so valeted across the street. Will be back again soon!!
3rd time here, but first visit in 5 years. Fantastic location/view. Steak/ pork chop excellent flavor and prep. Service was excellent. Prices 50 per entre. Deserts a mere 6$- bargain! Shouldn't charge $4 for bread. Still, highly recommended.
What a beautiful place for a special occasion. On the water in the heart of downtown Tiburon, when the weather is stunning, this is the place to be. Surrounded by windows and a view of the Golden Gate Bridge, it’s dinner and a view. The staff is friendly, attentive, and there to lend any recommendations. The cocktails are delicious, so definitely try at the bartender’s skills. For the food, you cannot go wrong. The shrimp cocktail has five large pieces with tons of sauce. The Caesar salad is substantial and flavorful with its pesto twist. The Maine lobster tail was large and decadent, the kitchen accommodating more vegetables instead of the mixed potatoes it came with. The sea bass was an absolute favorite- the paprika sun-dried tomato butter, potatoes & zucchini mash…amazing. And for those who are fans of abalone, this is the place to get it. Beautifully executed. We didn’t have enough room left for dessert, but I know we would have loved them all had we. Great meal and experience, I look forward to the next time we get to come back.
Great atmosphere, delicious food, and excellent service! The portions were a bit small for the price, but everything else was wonderful. Sean was super friendly and provided amazing service.
We’ve been here several times already and it’s always been fantastic. The service is excellent, and both the servers and the bar staff are super friendly. The branzino is absolutely spectacular and comes in a very generous portion. They also have a wide and varied menu with options for every taste. We’ll definitely keep coming back and recommending this place!
Truly an exceptional dining experience. While visiting from Manhattan, I found this restaurant to surpass many of the steakhouses back home, in both flavor and ambiance. The Caprice’s waterfront location in Tiburon offers panoramic views of Angel Island, the San Francisco skyline, the Golden Gate Bridge, and the shimmering city lights. The setting is peaceful, romantic, and beautifully maintained — a perfect escape from the bustle of the city. Started with the smoked salmon avocado crisps, which were fresh, light, and well balanced. The wharf crab salad was also excellent.. so fresh, clean flavors and beautifully presented. The petit filet mignon arrived perfectly cooked, tender and flavorful. It leaned a bit salty for my personal taste, but still delivered excellent quality. Service was warm and attentive throughout, with Sean providing thoughtful recommendations and a relaxed, professional presence. This is a quiet, elevated spot for anyone seeking refined food, top-tier views, and a memorable evening along the Bay.
We recently celebrated my wife’s birthday at this amazing spot, and it was a fantastic experience. The food was delicious, the service was impeccable, and the view was breathtaking. The calm atmosphere, enhanced by the soothing sounds of a saxophone, made the evening even more special. We tried abalone for the first time and found it to be quite good. Although we can’t compare it to other experiences, we would definitely recommend it. The lobster and mussels were also outstanding. Overall, it was a memorable evening, and we highly recommend this restaurant for any special occasion.
Nice place with a view. First time eating abalone and was pleasantly surprised. The clams were tasty. The branzino was moist and delicious. The parking situation is bad as there is only a small public parking lot. You are probably better off taking an Uber.
Great remodeled Tiburón classic. We were there in late 90s - early 2000s last, and it was wonderful to see that our old favorite hasn't lost its charm, and retained an airy, clean look and beautiful views. Our server was friendly and attentive, and the food was top notch. We also felt very welcome from the moment we walked in, which means a lot. Thank you for the great experience, we enjoyed a rare lunch date while our lovely kid was away. Oh, and their cheesecake was possibly the best we've had, and we have had a lot, in various places in different countries. Highly recommend for a special treat.
Visited the restaurant with the whole family on my birthday. Very romantic. The ocean view is amazing! The place is perfect for a good mood. The dishes are delicious. Impressive waiter! Excellent table service. Cocktails are good. I recommend.🇺🇦🇺🇸
Great service, amazing views of SF, Golden Gate Bridge and angel island, and most importantly great food with good service and reasonable price. My friend got a huge ribeye steak which tasted great. I had sea bass also tasted great. The vegetables were overdone and some burnet to be honest, that’s why it gets a four ⭐️
This place was spectacular and worth every dollar. The Brussels sprouts were a bit too lemony, but are still good nonetheless. The steak was really good, but what made it great were the drinks! Make sure to get reservations and good luck finding parking (unless you do valet) 😂. xo
This time we came driving but for sure our next visit will be coming from SF in one of the Ferry boats to enjoy even more. Great place for groups, intimate evening or any ocassion. Food was on the spot, service by far one of the best we ever had. I trully recommend this place with flying Stars.

I was impressed with how the chef cooked the Shrimps, so tender! Not every restaurant can cook shrimps well. And the shrimps were fresh.
My family & tried this place out because we tried out their panettone at the Stinking Rose Restaurant that is at Fishermans Wharf. So glad my family & I decided to come to this restaurant! Service is superb. You will enjoy the sights of the bay if you sit next to the window, the waiter recommended to come next time before sunset because you will get some breathtaking views! The food was excellent & their dessert are all great!
It’s the location! I would just go back over and over again for the wonderful dining experience complemented by gorgeous views and friendly service. Sunday afternoon wasn’t that busy and we were lucky enough to pick our own table. Food was mediocre and cocktails were ok. Spicy mussels definitely lacked that kick and veg sandwich was just too hard. I wish they had more bread options(softer side) for sandwich. Cheese cake had quite a bite. Prices are on the higher side but for those views and service, I would say totally worth it!

Love this place. Fabulous wine and cocktails. The 007 Vesper is a favorite and the steak was perfect. Lovely space and gorgeous view! Only four star for atmosphere given the interior windows could use cleaning. Not awesome to pay $50+ for dinner and have bunch of finger/face smudge on it. Nonetheless hope to be back soon. Really nice to have free valet
I was celebrating a friend’s birthday there and while food and atmosphere were good, the service was not. The waiter was rude, never looked at you, threw the dessert menu on the table like throwing scraps at dogs, never took the menu away, poured wine without asking when I didn’t want any. Just plain rude and poor service. I would not come back and hope management address this so other happy celebrations are ruined.

The worst service ever, the server never came to our table to look for us, I have to request everything to different servers. He was rude. They only care for the regular customers and you can see the difference between that or maybe they discriminate. We have our anniversary dinner here and have a bad experience in this place. Food is ok. The only thing that is amazing is the view and the atmosphere. Amazing view.
