Casa Cacao Tijuana Reviews
This place is a hidden treasure in Downtown Tijuana. At first you may think it's a just a small coffee shop but once you are in, you get to see how the layout opens up to a very cute decorated eating area. The service was great, the owner had a staff issue but still managed to accommodate us (a family of 10). Food was amazing!!! Almost every single one of us ordered something different, and everything was delicious!
Delicious spot. It’s run by a husband and wife and they make all the food and drink. The hir cacao is a must try. They also made us enchiladas and tamales with mole. Everything was so tasty. They also made a kids plate for my son with tamales, cheese quesadilla and rice with corn without any spice on it. He loved everything (and he’s not really into cheese much, but ate a lot of his quesadilla). You can also shop around the place for little trinkets, including the pots and molinillos to make the cacao. All the while, the music and atmosphere of the place is very welcoming and calm. Very different from the outside. If you’re in the area, highly recommend you go. We ended up buying 4 huge tubs of cacao paste to go 🥰
The food is made by a couple and it’s a taste of HEAVEN. The woman is so sweet and makes everything with so much love. It’s like I’m in her home, and the man is very nice to chat with. Also lots of beautiful hats, jewelry, etc handpicked and designed by them. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
An amazing experience. A well taken care off homey, husband and wife restaurant. Every time we have been there the service and food has been expectacular. The drinks are so delicious the waiter well give you his recommendations based on what you like. The place itself is so unique, really appealing to the curious eye.
The food here is AMAZINGGGG. This restaurant is a must if you’re ever in the TJ area! The customer service here is incredible as well! The owners are the kindest and most genuine people I have ever met. Anything with mole is a must have. This place is soooo underrated I don’t understand how this place is not famous!
The kindness of these women is unmatched ! Really, you must go. For them and for their truly delicious cocoa creations. They even accept venmo if you are out of pesos, very convenient. Popular area so it's easy to find. Good prices ! Especially for the quality. They also sell souvenirs and full meals, not just drinks. Although it is worth going for the drinks alone. Fresh baked goods as well. I'll be back next time I find myself in Tijuana
An amazing place for a classic chocolate (read in Spanish please). Great menu with delicious food, amazing assortment of folk art for sale, and the nicest owners/hosts. You’re definitely in for a wonderful treat if you stop by. It’s a little piece of beautiful Oaxaca right in reach.
Delicious food from Oaxaca. Menu is limited but the mole and chocolate milk (hot or cold) is amazing! My breakfast place of choice when I’m here. The service is great too! Server knows English well and they are all very welcoming.
Charming little place. You wouldn’t know from the outside… try the hot chocolate with chili. Food was nice, the mole was great.
We enjoyed this little hideaway place! The owner's (I think?) English was very good, and we were able to ask for recommendations for a drink. He suggested a cold chocolate drink - the premium. We got one with no sugar, and our friend got one that was sweetened. We really enjoyed the one with no sugar, but then of course after we tried our friend's and then went back to ours, it didn't taste so good anymore hahaha. The atmosphere was nice with it's little decorations, but we went at a time when it was very empty except for one guy who was a super regular. We weren't aware that the place sold actual meal foods, but I see from other reviews that apparently they do. The drink menu was quite overwhelming. I'd like to try this place again sometime but ask for more recommendations.
Generational family owned restaurant specializing in Mole. Totally worth the trip if you're in Tijuana.
