San Marco Via Pilade Queirolo Reviews
Great location, very tasty seafood and cozy atmosphere
What can I say other than flawless? My daughter Gaia's wedding was made unforgettable by the care, passion, and wonderful location that Max and his staff always manage with great professionalism. Compliments to the chef for the excellent dishes and very fresh fish. We made a great impression on all our guests who ate fish, even those who usually don't particularly like fish. Not to mention the after-dinner party... wonderful... thank you, thank you, and thank you again, Max, Francesca, and all the staff!!!!
The place and staff were perfect: welcoming, helpful, and very professional. Breathtaking views of the beautiful Sestri Levante harbor. The fish was incredibly fresh and the portions were generous. Everything was cooked with great care and love. Max was a wonderful host. Friendly, welcoming, and professional, he was always smiling. If I ever return to Sestri Levante, I'll definitely be back, hopefully soon! Thanks to all the staff.
Charming seafood restaurant with amazing views and an incredible hospitality. Max is the perfect host and we look forward to visiting him again!
Incredible views on a beautiful day it is hard to beat
Fantastic location, friendly staff and good food!
Wonderful food and service
San Marco restaurant is located at the end of the Sestri Levante pier. It was a meeting place for my sweetheart for almost two years, and returning after so many years was truly exciting. However, I'd like to be objective in my assessment of the restaurant and recommend it both for its charming location and for the high-quality seafood, especially the oysters, which owner Roberto imports from France. The portions are more than generous, and in addition to seafood, they also make a delicious thin-crust pizza. The staff is friendly and professional. The wine list is good. Recommended for a romantic dinner.
My wife and I are vegetarians. The owner never blinked an eye and offered many wonderful options cooked without oil. We enjoyed it enough to go back again a few days later with 3 other guests we had from New Zealand that we’re visiting us. Everyone loved the staff the food and of course the wonderful vista
Friendly staff, excellent food, fresh fish, and flavorful dishes. Prices are in line with a seafood restaurant. The place is perhaps a little over-stocked, but I wouldn't call that a negative. This restaurant is popular with locals, not just tourists, especially given its location, which requires a special approach and isn't in a busy area. The waiter was friendly and helpful. We'll definitely be back when we have the chance!
I can agree with the Google ratings (which are also based on customer reviews). A few "adjustments" could be made: price, which is excessive for the food consumed; location, which can certainly be improved and updated; hospitality; the owner is rather grumpy, although fortunately compensated by the courtesy of the wait staff; and the quality of the dishes isn't excellent. Given the waiting times, it would be reasonable to expect, for example, a grilled dish served hot, not lukewarm, on a day when the kitchen wasn't particularly busy. So why 4 stars after all this? Because the place has untapped potential, and hopefully it's not a case of... "those who have bread don't have teeth"!
All in all, it was good. The waiters were a bit old-fashioned and a bit ditzy, and the owner was eccentric, but it didn't bother me! We had a good dinner. The appetizers: shrimp with coconut were excellent, stuffed so-so, and octopus with potatoes were excellent. For our main course, we all had the mixed fried fish, which was also good, accompanied by a bottle of Lumassina. We also had the grilled vegetables, but for €10 they only bring two, and it's not worth it. I also recommend the place for its seaside location, as it's tucked away from the center of Sestri Levante but just a short walk away. There's also free parking.
A beautiful seaside venue, it feels like being on the deck of a ship. Thursday evening aperitif for €20 with a wide variety of dishes. The photos show just the starter buffet, which was later expanded to include oysters, fried anchovies, paella, pizzas, and more. Plus, DJ music and dancing.
Quite enjoyed the lunch today but thought the waiter favoured some customers far more than others. Despite being quiet took some time to get his attention for more drinks and was fobbed off trying to get some
Good location and reasonable food but prices were bumped up by extras which were not ordered but presented to us. A side salad consisting of a bowl of lettuce and a few small tomatoes cost €6, a plate of mixed veg which I thought was included with my main meal cost €9, a very small can of beer cost €6.50! (It’s also the first time I have ever been served with a can at a table in a restaurant). Anyway we left the restaurant with the feeling that we had been ripped off which spoilt an otherwise enjoyable evening.
