Los Pericos Willis Reviews
Excellent tex mex. Salsa is a tid bit runny. Good food overall!
This place is very nice! I enjoyed my dinner here! All the food was very tasty, and enjoyable. I will have to come back again. 5
We were so impressed with this restaurant! All of our food was delicious, the wait staff was so wonderful, the bathrooms were clean, and everything was great! We went with a group of six and everybody loved their meal. The tacos al pastor were some of the best I’ve ever had, and the Charro beans (and rice) were delicious. Super reasonable prices as well. We will be back every chance we get!
I just LOVE this place! Great food, friendly service and a total chill atmosphere. BUT, the reason that I am writing this review is to describe just how over the top this place really is. On Monday morning, I couldn't find a scarf in my home that I have had for 17 years. I frantically checked my house before I went to work. I couldn't find it anywhere. This was a very special scarf and one that I gifted myself on my 40th birthday, a gray, cashmere Louis Vuitton. My colleagues and I decided to go to Los Pericos for happy hour that night and of course, my colleagues had heard me ask everyone at work if they had seen my scarf and saw the big frown I had been wearing all day. About an hour after sitting at the bar, a man who works at the restaurant walked up to me to ask me if I was missing a scarf. My face beamed with joy and my colleagues couldn't believe this after hearing about this damn scarf all day. Luis, walks away and returns to the bar with my scarf, neatly folded. He assured me that if I ever forget something at Los Pericos, no matter how valuable it is, it will be returned. Phenomenal story. And a huge thanks to Luis! You really made my Monday!!
For us, this is our hands down "go to" restaurant in town. Always on point. Good service, good food, awesome drinks. One of the original places is town and still giving great food and service.
My son brought me here for my birthday dinner. The staff members were welcoming and cheerful. We were seated quickly and the server brought out chips and salsa and the drinks we ordered. I asked for the beef steak tacos. The food was hot, flavorful, and prepared quickly. We had a great time.
Every time we come here the staff welcomes us at the door and holds the door open for us. Everyone smiles and greets us with a huge hello and a "how are you doing my friend!!" It feels very welcoming. My wife is disabled so the gesture of holding the door open is very much appreciated. The food is delicious. The Margaritas are strong and the service is awesome. We really enjoy our date nights here. Thank you for the amazing service.
Every single time I come in here (about 1 times a month, think about that) I get excellent service! You can tell there is more than one cook, BUT the food is always good. Never any issues with the food. The Pastor tacos are one of the best plates as far as tacos go! The question is amazing and the salsa is unique AND freaking delicious! Now... the real reason for the review. The drinks here are the best in willis! Margaritas all the ways, ranch water, and some specialties make this place unique and a go to these days. I got food, drinks and desert on a Friday in less than 45 min! Give them a try if you haven't! Been here for years!
First time here, we were seated quickly. Someone brought chips and salsa out and took our drink orders. I got the Italian Rita and man that was good. They kept our drinks filled which is always a plus. Friendly staff, they really did go above and beyond for us. I ordered the Carne Guisada and my wife got the Diablo Chicken. My wife's dish tasted pretty good, I didn't think it was too spicy. My Guisada was perfect, tender meat great flavor. I look forward to going back and recommend if you've never been, you may want to try it out.
We have heard of this place since we moved out here and for one reason or another hadn't tried it. That is unfortunate. The chips and salsa are great, the margaritas were good (I had the top shelf but may try one of the many other options next time. My family loved their meals. Its there new favorite Mexican restaurant.

The service is excellent but the 3 tacos 🌮 i got had more lettuce than meat. Other than that plenty of chips and salsa. 4.6 stars 🌟 if they had that option
The food was very good very reasonably priced compared to other Mexican restaurants in today's economy. I have no complaints at all I highly recommend it. The only negative I saw was that there was no specials on margaritas and the lunch specials were not much less money than dinner but overall the price is still are not bad.
Apparently don't know what is in their food. I've been asking if they use monosodium glutamate (MSG) and they don't respond. So apparently they use it in their food to increase the shelf life. \n\nLi…

The quesodillas were good. The rice and taco al carbon were meh.
Overall: An inexpensive restaurant experience for a family or group. We received friendly, timely service which delivered lackluster meals. Although the experience was pleasant, the food was not worth our time. We are not likely to repeat a visit. Recommended Food: - Complementary chips and salsa: The chips were moderately thin and crisp, which for me was the right texture and crunch for chips. The salsa tasted fresh with red onion and cilantro, which I appreciated, and carried a mild heat. - Queso appetizer: The cheese was not overly hot, and held a wonderful dipping consistency for a long while. The sort where it is liquid enough to allow a chip to be covered, and upon extraction, the cheese solidified enough so as not to drip. It left a positive impression. - Beef flautas: I sampled a bit of a beef flauta, and found the shredded beef flavored and well-prepared. I could imagine myself ordering this item, although I expect the rice and beans were lackluster sides based on how long it stayed on our party's plates. Not Recommended Food: - Beef Taco, Beef Chalupa, Cheese Puff Combination Plate: I ordered this for under $9. The portions were fair for the price. The cheese puff was a fluted, colored tortilla chip filled with a ladle of queso. The photo looked like it was a cheese stuffed ball of some sort, so this was disappointing. The guacamole side looked like two tablespoons. I did not care for the ground beef taco or chalupa, which was the main parts of my meal. I was hopeful that it would offer an authentic taco experience, but it reminded me of a plated Taco Bell order, except I would have actually preferred the taste of the Taco Bell ground beef taco and beef chalupa, which was a disappointment. I'll try the taco truck parked outside of the Willis Supermarket next time. - Montgomery Plate: Presented on a sizzling cast iron skillet, with grilled chicken and bacon wrapped shrimp as the stars. Unfortunately, nothing was stellar about this dish. The bacon was moderately thick and not as inviting as bacon can be. Nothing stood out in terms of flavor, and for $19, though hardy portion-sized, this was a waste of an order. Ambiance: Colorful, tropical and parrot-themed entryway and large double doors provides an impressive experience of transitioning from Highway 75 near the Willis Supermarket into a place of well-appointed color. It was a busy Sunday with wonderful late February weather, a welcome reprieve from the rainy and near freezing temperatures of the beginning of that weekend. Service: We were seated by the receptionist, who led us to the large dining area opposite the bar. The inside was louder than we enjoy for late lunch, and thankfully secured a table in almost-empty outdoor seating area, instead. Our drink and appetizer orders were taken by a courteous female waiter. After delivering our drinks, chips, salsa, and appetizer order, she informed us our server would take our order. Our male server arrived and also courteously took our orders, brought us extra chips as requested, provided our check, take out containers, and cleared our table of dishes in a timely manner. There was limited personal interaction with either of the servers, but they were efficient and made our dining experience smooth with reasonable wait times between interactions. Facilities: The restroom is located near the front door/front exit, and apparently was in high demand as a patron proclaimed there was "a line for the single bathroom in the place." None of our party used the restroom facilities here.
The service is great but there are many Mexicans restaurants down the road for me to score it higher.
I went here for the first time. It's a small local place that has some pretty decent food. My first red flag was that they don't serve draft beer and I am a big draft beer fan, especially with Me…

Service was good except when they brought the bill. He tried to hurry me so I wouldn't see the bill so I went ahead and gave him my card. When I got it back after he already run my card. We had one drink at 3.25 and 2 waters. I got charged for 2 drinks and 1 water. That is not the first time this has happened to us there so I was watching. I have been supporting then since the day they opened but now I'm done. They are not the only mexican restaurant around now. I love their food.
We started resting here back when they only had 4 o5 tables. Was our favorite place to eat. On a Saturday evening in 9/2025 and was so disappointed. First off the waitress spoke only a little English. Had to repeat requests. My food was barely warm. The chips were cold. The enchilada sauce tasted mostly like tomato sauce. First time ever japened.
My girlfriend and I stopped by, after a family visit, for dinner. They immediately sat us and were very sweet. Our waiter was nice as were the others that helped since it was close to closing time. I ordered the chimichanga and my girlfriend orders the beef fajitas for one. The salsa was delicious. Unfortunately the beef fajitas were too chewy with quite a bit of gristle. Very hard to chew. My chimichanga had raw meat, I ate the tortilla that wrapped it. I was disappointed, I really wanted to like this place because I knew my residents would like the deco. I am glad I tested the restaurant first and didn't bring a bus load of seniors! They would have threw a fit...loudly , lol maybe if you don't get fajitas, ground beef and probably chicken it may be good.
The service is HORRIBLE every time. Today we sat there and waited no one acknowledged us nothing we left and won't be back

Decided to give this place another shot ! Got my order wrong multiple times told me he was gonna bring me what I ordered and never did ! If you want great Mexican food head over to rancho grande cheaper/ better customer service and they listen to customers they don’t just nod there head and say yes ! I spoke in Spanish and still didn’t get what I asked for .. Brought my tab asap but never received the stuff I ordered ! If you’re a senior citizen becarful and double check your receipts bc they will charge you still! got charged for food they never bright to me … very dissatisfied, and I love me some Mexican food !!! This one just not it for me at least !
Uncooked veggies. Who wants a uncooked green bell pepper? Beef like jerky. Sausage was a spam like hotdog. $25 really disappointed. It takes a lot to be nasty mexican food. Good salsa but by far the worst mexican food in Willis.
