Stopped in for a quick lunch. Ordering on the kiosk was a new experience, so if any order error would be the user. Liked the feature no one rushing me to make my order paid and received our drink tickets. Scanned and got our drinks. Food turn around was great. We did stop at a busy time. The food was fresh and hot. Overall, it was a great experience.

Amazing food, and atmosphere, the service is great and super fast and they give you anything you want when you ask for it with no hesitation, every burger is good no matter what combination, just be careful it's a little pricey but if u have the money for it it would be money well spent... But don't go overboard.

Steak and shake Locared on lamar between hwy360 and ballpark First the workers were extremely friendly. I ordered the #15 and the burger was delicios isubstituted the cole and drink and got and extra large fry. Price was just over 4 dollars. Called the 4 for 4 menue. I have always heard it was expensive the but i think they are now the cheapest of all. Go get sum yumyum

"Elana" is Spectacular as a hostess. She should be running this establishment. Garlic Burger keeps Vampires away. Fries are always consistent & good. Best Shakes according to Zagat.

I have been in the store many times and I can honestly say that the cook the brother is cold and his food is to perfection at this location he shows love and all his food that he makes so that alone is a plus he's very personable and does not mind indulging and conversation I really appreciate that I know that my ratings are all over the place so let me explain the food at this particular Steak and Shake is absolutely amazing right off of 360 next to Six Flags however I was very disappointed last night the young lady took my order she is so sweet every single time she's very soft spoken and she's very respectful however once I got to the window I have forgot that I needed to add a side order of cheese and her manager told me that I had to literally go all the way back around so order 30 Cent cheese once I made it back around the window guess what it was five cars so I had to wait before I got my food that I had already placed and wait for the five cars to go by thankfully it was really fast once I made it to the window I asked to speak with the manager because I wanted to understand why I could not place the order of cheese and the window and the manager said to me they're not allowed to because the register won't allow them however like I said this is not my first time going so I have made that mistake before and no one ever gives me problems but that's just my opinion I didn't really appreciate that part but overall I'm still giving the five star

This location no longer has a drive-thru. You must go inside to pickup or carry-out. You do not order with a person. You must order online, through the app, or at one of the kiosks in my pics. The food is still good and it was made relatively quickly. The people working the night I went we're all very helpful and respectful. They even gave us extra onion rings because we had to wait a little longer than expected for our food. We didn't ask, they just gave them to us. The inside was dinghy and a little dirty but it was near the end of the day.

This particular location has self-serve ordering kiosks. It is very easy to use and understand. I got the BBQ Western Burger. Good quality and flavor. Onion rings were extra greasy and a bit over cooked. Kit Kat Shake was awesome. Paid a little over $15 with no tip included. I think for the quality of the onion rings alone, that should've dropped the price at least $5. Overall, I would return to this location again. May have just been time to change the oil they use for frying.

Food was good. It sucks that it has gone fully automated as far as ordering. An older couple walked in after me and walked out when they couldn't figure out the kiosk. Then it asked if I wanted to leave a tip although they don't do anything for you other than cook the food. You order on your own and go back up to the counter when the food is ready.

Been too long since our last visit. We guess the business model changed. Orders are via computer kiosk now. The scan bar receipts to self serve fountain drinks are not intuitive and required several scans/swipes under laser before staff helped. Food was tasty but service felt less personal. Milk shakes are the bomb.

It's Steak 'n Shake, so of course the food is great, and the staff were friendly. My only complaint is that it does not smell clean when walking in. The kitchen was definitely clean (I looked), but we could tell the dining area is not being kept up as well as when they were a full-service location. I think it needs a deep cleaning (floors, tables, and windows) so it can be presentable for those choosing to eat in.

The Bacon and Chesse Steak burger was okay and the Kit Kat Shake was average as well. Nothing really special to me. The service was kind of slow and there were unoccupied kids just playing around on the booth.

I’m going to be honest. The burger’s were seasoned the fries were pretty decent and you don’t have to pay for your cups ether. You can choose whatever size you want. But you have to have a QR code thing to scan before you can get a drink. You can only get 3 refills. (But listen I went in there to eat and you can get however many refills you want with the sweet tea) it’s worth your money to go there but the service there is straight Dudu. Hope this helped

Usually service and food here is great but we came here tonight and ate inside and while I was eating I saw two giant water bug/cockroaches, one crawled over my feet while eating and I was able to stomp to kill the other one. I had told the person up front about it to let them know there was another around and to let his manager know. He was also concerned and let her know but I overheard her tell him “I’m too busy and I don’t care” so since she doesn’t care I have attached a picture of the one I killed.

Not a great location. It was busy, service didn’t take too long, fries were hot but burger was cold. There was no salt on the burger either so it just wasn’t good and disappointing for what I expected. Manager was helping move things along which was nice to see. Oh and there is an unmistakable smell of curry on the napkins and other single serve items for whatever reason. Something seems off about that.

Overall, everything taste-wise was good. The burger was very tasty, as well as the chili cheese fries. The reason for not giving a 5 star review, is that we had ordered milkshakes with our meals, and had to ask 3 times where they were at, after we got our food, only to be told, "they're on the way.". They weren't even busy at the time. By the time we finally did get the milkshakes, both of our meals were gone. Food was great, but would've been better had we actually gotten everything together.

This location is gonna go downhill if they continue with the manager that they have at the night shift. The lady with Light brown dreadlocks. Her attitude is terrible. I watched her throw away two different meals. I ordered my food and I sat in the drive-through for 20 minutes waiting for my food . I saw her throw one meal away and I asked her if she just threw a meal away and she said yes I threw the meal away because it was given to the wrong person and it was probably your meal so I waited another 10 minutes without double checking, she gave me another meal and it was fresh fries ,fresh everything and then she asked me. Did you order a single I said no I did not order a single I ordered a double . So she took/snatched the bag from me again and she threw it in the trash so I had to wait again for another meal this time. My burger was fresh. My fries were cold in my cheese cup with cold she didn’t say I apologize for your way. I’m sorry or anything. She just handed my bag and close the window with an attitude ! If she is going to continue to act like that she should not be in customer service at all. You might need to get you a new Night Shift manager! She threw two perfectly good and hot meals away, only to give me food that had been sitting there!

Big fans of Steak ‘n Shake from our years living in Las Vegas, but living in Houston now and Portland before that, it’s been years since we’ve had an opportunity to enjoy an experience. Visiting the area for a couple days we were so excited and so disappointed! We can start with the ordering kiosk, I do understand this helps with profitability but it kills the personal experience and I was not expecting that. I miss having the seasoning in jars at the table and the jars of peppers were also missing. I did find some packets of fry seasoning. The scan ticket for a soda was a new experience as well and extremely confusing, it honestly felt like I (the customer) was not trusted at all. The restaurant was clean and I appreciate that but it was very sterile feeling. The folks behind the counter were all nice and helpful when they weren’t talking amongst themselves. The entire experience felt like it was meant to minimize direct contact with the customer. I hope Steak ‘n Shake can turn this around before they become another failed chain.

In store- kiosk order only, no person for customer service... the cooks cook, the shake person calls out on the microphone for shakes... the soda machine is there for you to operate, sometimes only after finding out that you need to scan your receipt in order to activate it... the carry out/dine-in person calls out on the mic for those orders... and they all stay behind the counter, depending on the day or time, overworked & unconcerned unless you wait at the mic to catch one of them for a question or assistance. The food is decent and somewhat overpriced.

My boyfriend and I decided to eat in. The food was awesome, but the tables were dirty, and nobody cleaned them between customers. It's Covid-19 still... clean the tables!!!!

Food was decent but I'd say it was bad service if there was any. Ordered from a kiosk, listened for my order to be yelled from an intercom, for my food and scanned my ticket to get my drink. And scanned for any refills after. If you have to control the drink station because of people stealing drinks maybe don't let those people in or remove access to it.... Not the experience I remember. There was people working, I saw them in the back. Just no customer service to be seen. Been coming to this location for years but that will probably be my last visit.

Very crowded after Rangers games. Expect a long wait to be seated and then get your food served. When the food does come, you’ll most likely get a dry, boring steak burger. The one bright spot was the vanilla milkshake.

Giving an extra star only because of several previous great experiences. I got my order via UE. It was cold but I wouldn’t blame you for that. However, both fry containers were less than half full. I did not add onions because I hate raw onions. There were onions on my burger. How does this happen when I have to add the fixings? Dinner is ruined. $40 wasted.

Last time I took my family here was before the pandemic. In those days this place had a full wait staff and a menu that was full of awesome selections. I recall my tip would usually be at least as much as the cost of the food or more and was well worth it. Those days are gone apparently, as I guess their corporate decision to go with a Kiosk to run everything is costing them all the business they used to have. Even though we stayed and ordered with the Kiosk, they still managed to get the order wrong. I had to ask for help when the soda machine wouldn't work even when I scanned the barcode. The tables were dirty and my wife had to use hand disinfectant to clean ours off. The food was not as good as it used to be either. My wife told me to never take her here again, and she's never done that before. We watched several families walk in and immediately walk out when they saw the Kiosks. I think the only way they will save this restaurant is to hire back their old staff and dump those Kiosks into the Hunter Ferrell landfill.

I used to love Steak ‘n Shake however times have really changed. The food is cold and flavorless. I went for the Garlic Butter Burger. The Garlic Butter was cold and lacked salt very badly. They put so much of it on the burger that it squeezed out all over the fries and made them worse than they already were. Cold, soggy fries are the worst. I also had the classic double cheeseburger. Cold buns that were toasted washed if time . Cold meat patties that wouldn’t even melt the cheese. Terrible. The onion rings were cooked ok but had tons of thick batter that tasted like pancake batter. The only saving grace was the Banana Milk Shake. It was very good. The new business model of ordering from a kiosk, making you get up to fill your own drinks and retrieve your food then asking for a tip is frustrating. Needless to say I won’t be back.

Went in about 10:15 at night; wasn't busy. Asked if they could modify a milkshake for me, was told that they could and still messed it up. It took 20 minutes to get the milkshakes. Went on Halloween to get free shakes for kids. Waited in drive thru about 18 mins. Not too bad. Only thing was my Frisco Melt had 2 small McDonalds size patties and it’s supposed to be a double . They were so small they didn’t fit the bread so it looked like 1 patty. Not worth $8. Girls enjoyed their food and shakes. Also employee at window had a dirty apron on and no hairnet yet the other one had one on but didn’t have all her hair in it. The window looked like it hadn’t been wiped down or cleaned all day, Very dirty looking. Despite this we might go back, just not soon.

We were not impressed with this location. Three of our orders were wrong and they didn't fix it and weren't very nice about it, one of our meals didn't come out with the other food because they forgot , fries were stale, bathrooms were gross, the ketchup pump barely works, employees were not very helpful, we felt like for the money (because there are so many extra charges) it was totally not worth it. My love and I don’t come here often, and for good reason. But I keep getting drawn back here and regret it. We were here last night and I got a garlic steak burger and fries. We thought it was weird how quickly the food was prepared and ready. I’d rather have a well done burger other than what I had last night. I woke up sick. Focus on getting the food cooked right, more than getting it out to customers quicker otherwise, people will be writing reviews like this and you may be sued for poor quality.

Supervisor on shift hung the phone up in my face at 7:05pm when I called to file a complaint. My food was half cooked and small portions. I asked for upper management information and she refused to give me her name or the company information to contact because of how her attitude was towards me. Two strikes and they're out. We used to enjoy going here, but the management and employee culture has hit rock bottom. They won't acknowledge their customers. If they miss something on your order, you can literally stand at the counter for 10 minutes without them asking if you need something. I had not been to a Steak ‘n Shake in a few years. I was surprised to see this restaurant mostly empty when I walked in. Steak ‘n Shake has always been busy every time I have ever visited one. I quickly found out why. No longer a hostess to seat you at a table and give you menus. You’re greeted by kiosk screens, which were the only way to order your food. You get to stand there fumbling through the stupid screens trying to figure out what you want. Not a good experience. We were ordering as a group, so I went over to the self serve soda machine to get my soda while the rest of my party ordered. The soda machine would not dispense soda. I got someone’s attention in the kitchen to let them know the machine was not working. They would not talk to me and yelled back for someone else to come out. I repeated that the soda machine was not dispensing soda. She said I had to scan a QR code from a receipt to get the machine to dispense. Ridiculous. So I waited another 10 minutes for the rest of my party to finish ordering so I could get a QR code to dispense soda. We then picked a table (they were almost all available). I found out the staff no longer even brings the food out to you anymore. They mumble something that’s supposed to be a name into a microphone and you have to go collect it yourself. Someone in my party thought the mumbling was our name. It wasn’t. They didn’t realize and collected someone else’s food and brought it back to our table. We all realized it wasn’t ours quickly and had to take it back up for the right person to collect. We finally got our food. My Frisco Melt, which used to be my favorite years ago, was pathetic. Bread was not properly fried and still soft on the outside. The cheese was not melted and still cold in spots. There was barely any sauce on the sandwich. This was not the food I remember getting when I frequented Steak ‘n Shake. The portion of fries was also ridiculously small in comparison to what you used to get. Even the Dr Pepper from the soda machine was lacking in syrup and tasted more like seltzer than Dr Pepper. Overall this was a terrible experience. If this is what this restaurant is now, I will not be going back. Apparently I’m not the only one who feels this way given the mostly empty restaurant.

No employee and customer interaction everything is on the kiosk. To get your soda you need to scan your receit in order to fill your cup and there was nobody there to explain that. Employee was actually rude when I told her the machine wasn't working. Definitely not the same anymore. Rather go to McDonald's or Burger King

You order on a kiosk which is fine, had to clean our own table because every table was disgustingly dirty, no paper towels in the restrooms and no napkins. Trash was over flowing. Worst experience I ever had

It took soooo long for my food to come and when I got it it was cold as hell , they didnt even tell us why it took so long seeing they gave us old ass food!!!! The taco salad is NOTHING of what I expected, this is the WORST steak and shake ive been to. Complete trash!!

They couldnt figure out a simple kids meal the last time. Ive tried this location 3 separate times. Ive had 3 separate bad experiences...

They charged me a full drink price for 2 glasses of tap water. I know it was full price because I paid the same amount for my tea. I did get food, so it wasn't like I came through and only asked for water. I didn't discover it until after I left the drive thru and they don't answer the phone, it rang for 15 minutes before I hung up. Paying over $5 for 2 glasses of tap water is ridiculous.

You MUST place orders on a kiosk screen - there's no provision for human service. Instead of taking you to the menu, the screen begins with some questions. I was hungry. I didn't feel like going through the various questions. There was no menu posted and nobody to actually take my order. I guess I won't be going to Steak & Shake again. It's okay, there are a LOT of other restaurant choices that care about their customers enough to take their order.

Greasy terrible food that tastes good in the moment, but is certainly not part of a balanced diet. Service is terrible. Why have we become so anti-social? Where did the waiters and waitresses go? Self-order kiosk? The dystopian american future is already here.

12:30 service is extremely subpar. Very long wait, shake machine was down, impolite staff that make me feel like I'm being an inconvenience to them, and the Frisco Melt I ordered only had one very burnt patty on it. This location never has polite staff and only has decent food during food during the day shift. Buyer beware.

Never been to Steak N Shake, my kids and I been wanting to try it, biggest mistake ever!!!! Will never eat here again!!! Half filled fry cartons, waited in drive thru 15 mins and fry's were cold how does that happen, can't taste the Oreo or Reese's in the milkshake, my burger was so greasy and nasty I thru it away!!! I would never refer my worst enemy to eat here!!! My 6 year said his burger has no flavor it taste like ketchup and mustard only, wilted old lettuce!!!

I love this place, but the night crew got our whole order wrong. He told us we couldn’t add ranch to our order at the window, didn’t give us a receipt so we could tell the name on it or get my points, gave us 2 plain burgers with cheese only when I order a number 5 garlic burger and a kids burger no cheese, we ordered a specialty shake and got a plain one. And the icing on the cake was when we went back through the drive thru to tell them this wasn’t our order they just looked at us, locked the window and pretended we weren’t there. I would not have cared about any of this if they just remade a burger with no cheese. I honestly just want my money back because I was ripped off and this order will not get eaten. What a waste.

The food is good but the service is not very good because you have to order from a tablet and the people working there pretty much ignore you besides that's good hamburger

Seemed under staffed with nobody to take care of the dining room. Machine was out of ice, no lids, straws etc. food was cold. The picture is of the rubberized cheese sauce.

No more wait staff. Instead of being seated and waited on, you stand in line for a kiosk. Then when your food is ready, you have to walk up to the corner. And then when you check out at the kiosk, they want a freaking tip!!! No thanks, I will not be back.

Revised portion at the bottom. 3yrs ago-I really wish I could give this place no stars. We used to come here pretty regularly, simply because it was a nice treat for the kids. Over the last 2 years we have been maybe 6 times and every time is worse than the time before. Today it took us over an hour, after being seated, to get our food. The place they sat us had a big pile of stuff on the floor, like they were sweeping but forgot to pick it up. We all stepped around it and then our waitress looked down, noticed it was there, and proceeded to walk through it the entire time we were there. I had to use a baby wipe to clean the tables because there was ketchup all over and apparently they didn't notice all the red left over on the white table. We had to search tables for a ketchup bottle that had ketchup in it and the bottles were caked with grease and food from previous diners. My son had something stuck on the inside of his glass that they expected him to drink out of, would have been one thing for them not to have seen but the cup was clear and he had sprite so it was very easy to see the red thing stuck to the side. Through all of this they didn't even get the order correct and then when I asked for the cheese for burger the waitress tried to argue with me, their mini burgers are bun and meat and I had to take it apart to show it didn't have the cheese I asked for that she had charged us for. Revised today-Shared original review 3yrs ago and came back again today 2-19-20. Waitress was nice, burger came out and the meat was smooshed to the thickness of construction paper, also had to send it back twice to get them to add the salsa to it when they told our waitress that the meat is supposed to be thin. I'm not arguing that the meat it usually thin but paper thin is not actually a thing. Pics from most recent trip.

Ordered through Grubhub, seemed simple but they forgot one of my drinks, no lettuce on my burgers when that was my only topping on them, ordered large cheese fries but looks nothing like the picture and came with no cheese whatsoever, didn't even bother to fill the CUP with fries. No napkins or silverware when there is an option for adding silverware and napkins. And the small fries that come with the combos look like the same amount as my LARGE "cheese" fries. Trash restaurant.

Honestly worst place ever, next time I well prefer to go to McDonald's than come here again. They got my order wrong, they took one hour for my food, my food was super cold, and to top it off the place was dirty.

Online order takes longer than drive thru. Took 30 minutes. You need to do better

Trash and have the ratings they do for a reason. I ordered delivery and they forgot both shakes and a whole order of fries. Pay $30 for food to get not even the entire order. Then I try to get a refund and of course I have to go through Uber for their mess up to not be given my money back. Will never order from here AGAIN.
