Opiniones de Lichee Nut Brooklyn
Always excellent. Daily Lunch specials...served quickly when want nice sit down meal & have less than an hour to eat & get back to work, not rushed, decent portion for lunch, reasonably priced options. More relaxing on less crowded days/times. Background music, clean facilities. Take out also good option. Convenient location on Montague St, short walk from Kings Supreme Civil & Surrogate Courts, & various subway & bus stops; need to be able to maneuver steps (about 7-8 wide steps with rails) descending to restaurant entrance.
My 1st time tasting Suop Dumplings (Pork and Crab) and they were amazing. We were also very satisfied with the Pepper and Salt Chicken and Shrimp Fried Rice.. Check them out, you’ll love it.
For over 45 years this place has had exceptional food and service. We drive 30 minutes to enjoy the best Chinese food in Brooklyn. Portions are generous and quality shows with every dish. Definitely a must try if you’re in the area or not
It was great, our server checked on us! Efficient time it took to make our food, and good prices, definitely go during the lunch happy hour. I know I sound like a bot, but seriously, this place is great… definitely recommend!!
Today we had the chicken and broccoli, beef and broccoli lunch specials and pork buns. The food portions were incredibly generous. Everything is very tasty and very fresh quality. The staff is always very accommodating, friendly and generous with their helpful service. This is a sit down restaurant that has that old time flavor without trying, the atmosphere is wonderful. You get a ton of bang for your buck. We highly recommend coming here, you won’t be disappointed. Five Stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
I love Lichee Nut! Always enjoy lunch specials. Tonight we came for dinner, good portions and leftovers. We had General Tso’s with string beans instead of broccoli and brown rice. Also shared pork dumplings, egg roll, and scallion pancakes. Delicious, hit the spot. Waitstaff are warm and attentive as well. Place is very clean. They’ve been open 45 years! There’s a reason! A staple for sure.
Great food! I come here for their orange shrimp w/brown rice meal or mango shrimp w/egg friend rice, and it never fails!! So delicious! I like how they have various vegetables options such as bok choy to add as a side. They're service is immaculate. As soon as your seated, they set your table up with utensils and a pot of hot tea!! They're attentive to details and always naturally pleasant.
One of the best dining experiences I've had in the entire NYC metropolitan area. I just saw this place from the street, thought to give it a go, and was shocked. The feeling I got from my experience here was hard to describe. It was almost like stepping back to this fabled pre-9/11 time which I've heard of. When America in general was a lot more generous. For a sit-down meal for 1 person, I went for the lunch special. Ordered General Tso's chicken. I paid $12 cash for the entire meal, tip included. It was shockingly good value and more than that, the first "cheap" meal I've had in the entire area in a place where even fast food will cost around the same price. The offerings feel very generous, and therefore uniquely luxurious. Free tea, wonton strips with sauce, and a fortune cookie at the end. My lunch special even came with a choice of a soup or iced tea! Food is great and importantly, I actually felt full after eating. Service is blazingly fast. The waiters are polite. My only complaint is they are a bit too eager to get you out the door as fast as possible. Despite this minor imperfection though, I highly recommend this place.
I would give this restaurant more than five stars if I could! I love Chinese food, but I love quality Chinese food even more. And this place has it. The chicken served in the dishes here is actual white meat, no knuckles or elbows. Perfectly plated and seasoned to a "T". You can enjoy extra spice if you are inclined but the sauces and flavors are all enhanced with a loving touch from the kitchen. Large portions and very reasonable prices set on spiffy Montague Avenue earns this place my number one go-to Chinese restaurant in New York.
Excellent place. Not your run-of-the-mill Chinese restaurant. This one has lots of unique dishes that you will not find at most other Chinese restaurants. I got one of the specials of the day, lion's mane mushroom with black fungus (a.k.a. Wood Ear mushroom) and snow peas, and I even asked them to add fried tofu to it even though it was not a part of the dish and they were cool with it. Absolutely delicious, highly recommended.
This is a really nice, clean, and delicious little spot. My husband and I walked in randomly on a Saturday night and we absolutely loved it. The gentleman and woman working were incredibly friendly and provided excellent service. They did not mind that I requested some customizations to my dish, and when we asked for our food to be extra spicy, they brought over a generous dish of chili spice oil which was really considerate instead of assuming what spice level we could handle. The food was great as leftovers the next day as well. Definitely a nice neighborhood restaurant to eat at! Planning to return :)
I was underwhelmed by my dish as it was very oily and I could only eat half. The garlic sauce was also very sweet. My husband liked his dish but agreed the lo mein was oily. I would probably try this place one more time and get plain rice and a different vegetarian dish. Service was fast. Food was ok.
I stopped by Lichee Nut on a whim before a concert and was pleasantly surprised. I was in quite a rush, but the staff was incredibly kind and helpful, making sure I was taken care of quickly. The food came out fast, which I really appreciated under the circumstances. I only had time to try the shrimp dumplings before boxing up the rest to go. The dumplings were tasty, and I’m definitely looking forward to coming back when I have more time to enjoy the full experience and eat everything while it’s hot! All in all, a solid first impression, and I’ll be back soon (without the time crunch next time!).
This restaurant was another one of my very on version of taste of chinese cuisine in Brooklyn while on a visit this past week. First of all, I don’t think that my server understood me. I decided on the lunch menu because I didn’t want to purchase something and get disappointed. I decided on the shrimp and broccoli but I wanted fried rice with it. I loved the shrimp and broccoli but when I tried the rice, I was like what is this to myself. I thought to myself maybe I’m missing something, so I tried it again, I said to myself no, this is something I can not eat. I did pick around the rice and eat the shrimp and broccoli which was very tasty. Everyone has an opinion and different tastes buds and I get that. Maybe someone else may love it.
I had stopped going to that restaurant for about a year because the food was not up to standard. I figured that they may have gotten a different chef or chefs and returned yesterday to order jumbo shrimp in a mango sauce (a special for over $20.00) When I returned home and opened it up, I saw only yellow, no veggies as promised, but slices of mango with no taste whatsoever. I ate a few of the shrimp and they were tough. I threw the bulk of the food away. I called the restaurant to voice my displeasure, and asked them to take it off the menu. It is, by far, the worst dish that I have ever eaten. I told them that I needed a refund and was told to return the food. I did not have the heart to remove it from the bin.
5 people in the place and they took a long time to take our orders. Fried Rice was kind of puffy and taste like it was a day old, tso chicken was a bit hard and the sauce was like gunky. We have not been to this place for like 6 yrs since my wife works from home and we live in staten island. It so happens we were in bklyn and thought it would be nice to have chinese in a familiar place so we went since we liked the food in the past. We'll I don't think I'll be going back again.
