Opiniones de Warude Brooklyn
Warude is one of my favorite restaurants in Brooklyn, the food is absolutely amazing, fresh and delicious. The place is very casual with a very friendly crew. I highly recommend it.
Loveeee this place . Plan to try everything off the menu honestly . Very tasty, clean and healthy options . I hope they expand bc they are really doing their thing . So far tried the Warude curry bowl with shrimp and salmon bowl with scrambled eggs on side . Those are must try selections ! 10/10. Tacos I tried were the fried fish and fried chicken. Tacos are good. The entrees are big hitters tho . Staff is nice .
I felt compelled to write a review for this place because of the lunch I enjoyed there. This restaurant was beyond my expectations. The chicken was crispy and fresh, the fish was flaky and the curry was top-notch. From portion to presentation the meal was honestly one of the best lunches I’ve ever had in my 13 years in NYC. The restaurant was very inclusive and inviting and the genre-blending of the menu is something that more restaurants can learn from. I can’t wait to go back, do yourself a favor and go there for lunch now or tomorrow.
SO AMAZING! Tacos AND rice bowls??? Literally best combo of food ever. Great outdoor space. Chicken teriyaki was the best I’ve ever had. Not floppy and sweet, just right, and they use an actual chicken instead of gross pieces. The fish tacos were amazing too. 1000000% will be returning regularly. I live in Manhattan and will be traveling often.
SPEEDY DELIVERY W/ THE PROPER ORDER! SUPER SATISFIED!
Japanese Plate is very special and tasty!!! especially miso soup, haven’t had miso soup with so many stuffs in it for a loooooooooong time. They have potato seaweed eggplant tofu carrot( which tastes surprisingly good) and a lot of ingredients i didn’t pay attention to lool and the teriyaki chicken is good as well. crispy skin which i love. large portion like any other US restaurant, but not that salty which is good. With really nice vibe and fun selection of music (which doesn’t feel like i’m having Japanese plate.) Glad i walked in :)
This place is da bomb!!! One of my favorites in Brooklyn. I think I like the codfish and curry brown rice the best; that's my that's my go to dish. Wish they had more seating options. My girlfriend likes everything she's eaten there too. Great restaurant!!!
Unexpected Delight❣ Eclectic menu and music makes this a real treat. Grilled salmon taco was EVERYTHING. The vegan ramen left me speechless because I didn't want to stop eating. The "spirits" include varying beers wine & SAKE, coffee and tea. There's leamondes and other bevs in the cooler.
Foood is sooooo good. Service is good. Had the Japanese plate with salmon and also ordered chicken taco. Ppl next to us had ramen that smelt amazing!! They definitely don’t skimp you on food. Very reasonably priced and both styles of food they had were great. They also have a seating area that is covered. (Visiting from bmore)
Food was fresh chicken was nicely charred and tender. It was enough for at least 2 . I had the chicken teriyaki bowl with cabbage brown rice and avocado on top. I’d get it again.
The best Katsu Curry that I’ve ever had.
The best. THE! BEST! We eat here (in or takeout – order DIRECTLY!) about once every two weeks. The Japanese food is amazing (favorites: curry, salmon bowl). The tacos are fantastic (favorites: all of them). The food is always ready so fast, whether for delivery or pick-up or eating in. Super pleasant place to be, with very friendly owners and staff.
Love this spot + amazing customer service <33333 It was super exciting for me to find this restaurant because I have some dietary restrictions and eating out can get a lil old. So far I've only had their miso salmon bowls just because they're so good! Also, I had a small issue with my order at one point- not only were they polite but they went above and beyond customer service wise. Will definitely keep frequenting this spot! Thank you guys :)
I love this place so much. I never expected to love an asian fusion place but this has become one of my go-tos. They do fusion right! The vibes are always so good in the shop and their delivery is also super quick. The shrimp curry is amazing and it’s amazing to be able to get natto in bed stuy!
This place is consistently delicious. Both locations are on point, don’t sleep on Warude
Really great place. Nachos had good cheese and the green salsa is the best salsa in any place in NY. The curry was authentic and homey. Chicken was amazing. Definitely a place worth traveling to, definitely worth trying a few things
Very delicious. I came here with my heart set on ordering tacos from looking at the menu online. Couldn’t resist the Warude Ramen. I’m a seaweed & cabbage junkie. It’s pay first, but they do accept cards, & you tip immediately. You won’t be disappointed; be generous when you can be. Very kind staff & the menu really seems to get me. Sometimes you just have a mismatch hankering for nachos AND edamame. I’ll be back.
Some of my fondest breakfast memories are at in this place. Warude defies time and place: warm homemade tortillas inspired by a Lebanese chef, 1970s Brazilian music, and Japanese curries right in BedStuy. One of the best places to watch the World Cup every four years. Even the echo when they announce the orders is done to perfection… number thirty-ty twowowowo. I hope it stays alive in my memory forever
Incredible, quick food. Ramen is only served during the winter so I went with one of their bowls - chicken teryaki, scrambled egg, brown rice. The string hanging is from the scrambled eggs, not hair! Immense amount of flavor and the miso soup was incredible. Exactly what I was looking for on a cold and rainy day in Brooklyn. You won’t be disappointed.
I wanted to eat something good and something quick as I had just landed after a terribly long flight. And boy was Warude a good choice! The staff was incredibly kind and funny! The music was playing when I sat down to eat my food and I felt comforted by both. The ramen and dumplings were just what I needed. Warm and tasty. And I was happy I could drink some umeshu in this weather! Also bonus point for me is I heard songs in my own native language at some point and from bands I know personally back in my country, Mauritius. That made me feel happy and like home was just around the corner. Will definitely go back!
Clearly a hidden gem for me! Split my time btwn Crown Heights & Da Stuy and actually never paid attention to this spot. Will NOT make that mistake again! Great, quick service and even better fresh food! Love my Kale/Brussel Salad! 👏 I'll Be Back 👍🏾. . . . 8/19/23, I've been back and combined with TAMA Street Festival, Warude is the center of Awesomeness Culture Fusion for food and Souls! Now they've opened one in Crown Heights on Sterling! Its on like popcorn!
Love this place!! My daughter and I ate here on a weekend stay in Bed-Stuy. I had delicious tacos and she had a Japanese curry bowl. Have you ever had a yam taco? Go to Warude to get one. The chicken mole was excellent too. My daughter said the curry bowl was the best thing she has ever eaten.
Ordered fried tofu and what arrived was the blandest, soggiest tofu sitting in some kind of questionable gelatinous sauce. Way over priced to be inedible. Update: Based on the restaurant’s response to my review and the fact that I was probably just a cranky hangry mess last night I’m updating my review. Still wasn’t particularly satisfied with my food but they go above and beyond customer service wise. I’m sure the food is delicious dine in…take out orders are always tricky. Thanks warude for resolving this with me. Wishing you the very best!
It's a bit challenging to categorize this place: Mexican? Asian? Regardless, the tacos and the tortilla soup were excellent. Ingredients were fresh and the seasoning was very good.
The chicken mole breakfast taco is one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. I used to live in the neighborhood and get it all the time! I live in MA now and when I was in town this weekend I went out of my way to get to Warude to get the taco. Absolutely amazing. Be sure to put some of the green and red sauces on it too. Thank you Warude! 💓🤩
Honestly everything I’ve ever had here has been phenomenal, but I get chicken mole breakfast tacos from them as often as I can justify it. Oh and the chicken skin tacos? Unreal. Love this place.
Taking a walk and spotted this place. It was very busy with plenty people sitting and eating seems like a popular spot. Love the atmosphere seating outside and some inside. The food was really good and also the drinks. We got cod and salmon tacos plus the cod dip. Well worth it and affordable. Will be back!
Didn't feel like cooking today. Wanted something good for me and the chicken teriyaki bowl I ordered was just the thing. Very good.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Warude is one of those spots you don’t forget after your first visit. The Asian fusion tacos are on another level—fresh, bold flavors with just the right amount of spice. You can tell they really care about quality because every bite feels balanced and made with thought. The mix of crunchy and soft textures makes the tacos super satisfying. The vibe inside is chill and modern, and the staff were welcoming and quick with recommendations. It feels like a place you can grab a casual bite with friends but also enjoy something unique you don’t find everywhere. Warude definitely makes tacos exciting again, and I’d come back everything on Thompkins
One of my (and my sister’s) fav go-to spots. The Warude curry and salmon rice bowls are so good. Nachos too!! Always comforting and I love that they have options for when I want something more comforting and fried vs. something healthier and easier to digest / anti-inflammatory. The people working at the counter are always SO nice and good vibes. They fit into Bed-Stuy in that you can tell they respect the customer base, and Bed-Stuy’s diverse community. That’s beyond important in a city that gets gentrified and loses its personality more and more these days — this is a shop that actually respects culture and diversity, which I can intuitively feel as a POC who was born and raised in Brooklyn. Great, great establishment, whether ordering pick-up, eating in, or getting delivery. Oh, and I like that there’s usually music playing on a tv in the restaurant! Sometimes drumming, and I read the owner is a musician who has studied Jamaican music, so that’s cool!
I fell in love with this place. I do not know, maybe I was born under a lucky star. When I came I heard a company praising their delicious tacos. Then I smelled the lime flavour. It made my mouth full of water. We took ramens and fantastic homemade nachos. They got me. Everything was outstanding. I came back to leave more tips.
Delicious - we had the salmon bowl with scrambled eggs and the chicken curry bowl. Both were filling and generously portioned. Nice selection of local Brooklyn teas, some craft soda, sake and lager selection. Has a bathroom too for customers only. Definitely would go back and try the tacos!
I love this spot! A great place to casually eat or quickly pick up food from! The service is always amazing and the food is super solid. My gotos are the basic breakfast tacos (soooo good), the shrimp taco, the guac and chips, the chicken katsu curry :) a great spot with great prices for solid food! Also the matcha is quite good :)
I don't think anyone could have anything bad to say about Warude- my partner and I eat the chicken mole breakfast taco & regular breakfast taco like ~4x a month. I love the chicken tortilla soup. Best Matcha on the block. Everything else is yum too. Service is always A++. Thank you Warude!!!
These tacos were so good!!! The corn tortillas were soft, warm, and tasted freshly made. Nothing was spicy, just flavorful and super fresh. My bf got the cod and fried chicken tacos, and we both loved them. I’m not even a fish girl but the cod taco totally changed my mind. It was light, crispy, and perfectly seasoned. The fried chicken was crunchy, tender, and full of flavor. 🌮💛 I’m Mexican and these are absolutely taco approved 🙂↕️
They've really expanded the menu since I visited last year! I noticed there are more soups that use vegetable stock, and there are fish and shrimp options for the curry, as well as plain vegetable. Maybe I just didn't notice before? I always get the kale salad and miso salmon, but I wanted to try something new too. I ordered the vegetable dumpling soup to go, and it was thoughtfully packaged to minimize spills. I decided to drink a bit anyways just to make sure nothing would spill on my drive home, but it was so tasty that I decided to finish it right then and there! The service was great too! The staff was really kind to me even when I made a silly mistake while ordering AND picking up my order. I know work can be hectic, so it's nice that they were still so patient with me. Thanks!
A never fail, always delicious, and feel good meal and/or snack. To top it off, everyone who works there is so kind, courteous, and thoughtful. Kiddo loves their beans and rice and it’s so wholesome that we get it weekly for him. The guacamole and chips are also a weekly.
Love Warude! Fusion Japanese food always hits a specific craving. On a cute block in BedStuy this is a great spot for lunch or dinner, especially when the weather is nice. Staff is phenomenal, hardly any wait time, and always playing good music. I really love the interesting and unique flavors has to offer — from the flavor palettes to building out a bowl. The serving sizes are GENEROUS! (Though my sides have often been a bit bland compared to the main, so sometimes the heaps of lightly seasoned brown rice aren’t enough to contextualize the delicious miso salmon.) I would note that indoor seating is limited so I definitely recommend sitting outside. On slower days, there should be no wait for a table. But at busier times, the restaurant is completely full with no luck of getting a table. Thankfully, their to go service bodes well when picnicking in nearby Herbert von King Park.
Stopped by while walking down Tompkins Ave in search of good breakfast and coffee. I was surprised to see their breakfast tacos on the menu. Let me tell you they did NOT disappoint. Added avocado. They’re a good size I was full with one. The variety of homemade salsas (verde was my fav) I would literally buy if they bottled, they were the icing on the cake! We will be returning.
Partner and I went this weekend and it was some of the most delicious tacos we have ever had. We really recommend the salmon and fried chicken tacos! We had our dog with us so the outside seating was a giant plus :) partner said the atmosphere inside was amazing and that he’d really like to go back! We ordered it to go and they thought ahead and separated the taco filling from the tortilla to prevent them from getting soggy- so genius. Thank you!
I was quite surprised with how delicious the food was. From the look outside of the restaurant, I was not sure what to expect but once went inside, the place was fun and hip. I liked the Japanese curry rice bowl a lot. The tacos looked colorful and interesting. Next time, I’ll try more tacos for sure. Definitely give this place a try!
Went here for an impromptu lunch with a friend. Was planning to get some bites but ended up eating meals because we were super hungry. I got the Shrimp Curry which was great with its consistency, flavor-wise, and texture yet it has no super strong taste which was a good point at least for me. My friend got the Crispy Fried Chicken Taco and Vegetable Gyoza. I did try one of the gyozas and loved the sauce and the chili sauce (we're from Indonesia so we've been missing this kind of super spicy sauce!). The place was cute and compact, we got an outdoor seat without waiting even for a minute. The staffs were friendly and helpful !! Recommended to try a hip place around Brooklyn.
We live in the same street, gave it a chance tonight. We will go again for sure for the curry, their specialty. The chicken is crunchy and tender, and we really appreciate most of the ingredients are organic. The serving of rice and sauce is generous. Will not order ramen again tho.
Great music, good vibe, staple foods. Warude offers an eclectic food menu- a mix of tacos and Japanese inspired foods, and a pairing of drinks that match the mood. The food is simple, but solid. The atmosphere is quintessential Brooklyn, and the staff is always welcoming.
First of all, the colors are so intriguing. The tastes are so on brand with the presentation. A large bowl with a lot of food and tastes that balances and works well with each other. The drinks were so nice and warm! Not too sweet and tasted exactly to my expectation with your wide choice of leche! I don't like it sweet so order with honey if you need. I was a bit confused whether to go with the Japanese or the Taco options. With the teas it made it easy to decide on the Japanese options. I only give 4 stars because they still use menus wrapped in film instead of an online barcode. It is all self service. And on the sweet and sour was just a bit too saucy for me. But my woman loves it saucy so it worked out!
This place has so much vibe. Love it! Most of the food is really fantastic and definitely worth a taste. Staff is always incredibly nice and again...the vibe, the atmosphere, the people... So good! My only beef with this place is the price against the portion size. 3 tacos can easily coast ya close to $13-15, a grain bowl almost $17-20. That not only makes it a really hard place to agree with given the neighborhood and area it's trying to please - sure BedStuy's all the rage, but... No... It seems slightly unfair that tacos and bowls these sizes ring in at those prices. It makes you reconsider options on BedFord Ave and Franklin Ave. Take $1-3 of the prices and this place would be off the hook! No doubt about it!
Today Warude opened up its doors in Bed-Stuy for a soft open. The atmosphere feels perfect for summer and I’m excited for when they begin serving tacos. For now it’s just bowls, soup and salad. I got the Eggplant bowl. It has simple ingredients and a mild flavor. While it isn’t anything to go out of your way for, it’s great to have a low cost healthy option in the neighborhood. Hopefully in the future they’ll put out some shichimi (Japanese chili flakes) or furikake (seasoned seaweed flakes) to boost the flavors a bit.
Salmon tacos for the win! What an interesting spot and fusion of Japanese and Mexican food. The ambiance gave me food truck vibes with random trinkets adorned throughout the inside space. It gives real indoor-outdoor dining which is good in times of COVID. The food was good, although my rice was a tad cold, the salmon tacos are a must!
I come here often enough and the food is always good. I like the fried chicken tacos and recently tried the salmon bowl. Loved it.
I ordered the salmon miso via takeout. The food was good but the 4 stars is because I couldn’t really taste the miso which is my main reason for ordering it. I love miso. It came with brown rice and kale. I will order again and try something different. I’ve passed by this place before so next time I’ll eat in so I can experience the atmosphere.
Good neighborhood joint serving classic Japanese food and also tacos. A fusion that may seem questionable, however, it does the job right and is more of a 2-in-1 shop instead of fusion. The chicken teriyaki had very tender chicken and nicely flavored vegetable hiding underneath over a bed of brown rice. It was good! The chicken curry tasted like a classic curry with perfectly fried panko chicken. I kinda wish it had some vegetables with it, however. This isn’t a place to go out of your way for, but great for locals in the neighborhood wanting a quick bite or a place to have some sake on a Thursday night. I will be coming back to this place on the occasion of having a long day at work and not really wanting to cook. Good food!
An interesting fusion kitchen, a mix of Mexican, Japanese, Indian... I love all these cuisines so good news for me. We ordered food for pick-up and it in fact was ready for when it was promised. Everything is nicely packed mostly in compostable boxes. All dishes tasted very good (the taco wasn’t the best I’ve ever had but it was decent) and the portions are generous. Highly recommended.
I want to like this place more but I have some old man complaints about it that kinda temper the experience though. First I'll say, the ingredients taste fresh and everything seems to be done from scratch, big ups. It's the only spot in the neighborhood to get this kind of quality Japanese and fusion grub, which is cool. The vibe of the place though, while bright and sorta fun, feels a bit chaotic and haphazard. The weird tv in the corner above the play area playing like an old dirt bike race or whatever. The dirty menus on the tables. The handwritten signs above the register take a long time to decipher. Nothing's very clear or organized, so it makes you feel like a bit of a dope when you go up and try to figure out what they have, and what you want. I ordered a special from a handwritten sign by the register and they weren't sure if they had the sashimi to produce it. They did in the end, but like, if you've got a sign for a special, you should know that you've got the goods. The tacos came out carefully crafted and tasty but pricey. Almost $6 for a single fish taco? Of which you'd want 3. Kinda wild. The prices feel a bit much. Good hot sauces are available to add if you like. Staff were nice, but again it all feels a bit makeshift, and then you sit down and just stare into the giant coolers that they have full of all their product, right out in the open where you're eating. It's weird. I'll still visit, because I'm nearby and it can scratch an itch. Want to try the bowls, but the vibe is never satisfactory-it feels like a pop up. Or maybe I'm just an old soul 30 year old. Or maybe I just need to take out.
Unfortunately, the tacos here a quite bland despite all the bells and whistles. The menu is pretty limited and I haven’t found anything too exciting after multiple trips. Even the hot sauce lacks spice. Other guests are mostly local yuppies with dogs.
Fish with my curry was poor quality, like it had been frozen and thawed multiple times. Also threw in some Katsu chicken, pretty random. Also not the best quality Katsu I’ve ever had.
This place is one of my favorites in the neighborhood for a well-priced lunch so I take no pleasure in leaving such a low review. However, I walked in yesterday to place an order and when I grabbed a menu at the counter I noticed a roach running up the menu toward my hand! It was the worst. I left immediately. I hope you guys call an exterminator and get that taken care of because the food really is good. I just don’t want to share it with roaches.
A solid 2. Fish was fishy and tasted old, breakfast taco badly wrapped, spilled and ruined new bra and shirt. Please pay for cleaning lol. Very disappointing. Chaotic, badly laid out space. Sweet workers and good iced latte, but not good enough to make up for all the other issues.
Been coming here for a while in a pinch when I want to switch up my breakfast, since it is one of the few places around that have breakfast. The orange sauce makes the tacos taste a little better, otherwise they are just ok. But since they just started making the tacos 1/2 size for the same price, this might be my last time. Then again, they have the advantage of being one of the only places around… :( I bought 1 taco (well really 1/2) and the only size coffee they offer (med) and it cost me close to $20. If you’ve got money to burn, this is the place for you.
Not really understanding the great reviews, but maybe they just aren’t good for takeout. I got delivery and I thought since I was close it would be fine but the taco was nasty. Pretty sure the pineapple in the salmon taco was canned did not taste fresh at all idk. The cabbage slaw was good but the only enjoyable thing. They tried to pack the taco so that the juice didn’t leak onto the shell which i appreciate but I just didn’t enjoy the shell. Just tasted like nothing (salt???? Plz) and better texture can be achieved with store bought corn tortillas. The salmon was also so dry and unseasoned. A fusion place??? With no seasoning!?? Why. The nachos were…... Idk if they were old chips but I also got the tortilla soup and those tortilla strips, which i’m assuming came from the same dough, were much brighter in color and crispier and delicious! The nacho chips were stale, chewy, cardboardy. The toppings were sad. Like just put it on the side if this is what we’re doing. The sour cream didn’t even make the journey. There was a very thin covering of toppings and quite a few layers of chips. Just didn’t make sense to me and I did not enjoy. But best for last, the tortilla soup! Very good minus the chicken, sadly another dry protein. A little sad the best thing is the soup because I almost didn’t get it and I would’ve had nothing to eat.
I’ve given them several chances but everything I’ve had here is completely flavorless. Lots of room for improvement - just use more seasoning and sauces!
