Dr. Bird’s is always a pleasure to visit. The food is always delicious, and my personal favorite is the spinach patty. Everything I’ve tried has been great. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. I highly recommend it.
Dr.Birds been a favorite and only go to for authentic food since I was a kid going with my dad to the barber shop on E.Delavan when they had a location across from a barber shop. The recipe is still the same and I’m 31 now the young gentleman at the front is very professional and respectful coherent and a great help for his relative the owner is mild tone with blessed hands the patties are authentic fresh flaky soft and perfect bite I went two days in a row! The atmosphere is peaceful calm and inviting i am forever a patron of Dr.Birds I love the oxtails the steak and curry chicken I definitely have to try the goat and the carrot cake is so moist too! Wait time is reasonable everything is made to order no rushed food just love and patience you can tell in the taste! Overall this restaurant is dear to my heart and I’m proud to support!
Great food. A bit of a wait time. One suggestion is to ditch those paper boxes. By the time I got home the boxes were falling apart and sticking together.

Always loved the food here, I stopped in for curry chicken patty and it was so hot & delicious!! The man working was nice, he was cooking & also handling the front so I didn’t mind waiting a minute, I got to look at drinks & find out about new menu items. Always recommend this place! 👍 Lots of desserts to try and I love they even have vegan items with jackfruit, can’t wait to go back and try that!!
AUTHENTIC CARRIBEAN FOOD!! Old Rasta in the back throwing down… and cooking it up FRESH. Great find off Main and Highgate. They were very helpful in deciding what to eat. Curried tofu, plantains, veggies, and a spinach & veggie patty. Well worth the wait and worth every penny.

Having been an almost regular for years then moving away from the area, I had not been here for some time. First, I am over joyed they are still here. Second, it is as good today as my memories of it before. The aroma as you enter the door is not only inviting but prepares you for the meal ahead. Such a delicious meal it will be indeed. Doesn't matter what you finally decided on having, it will be wonderful and well prepared. You can taste the pride and joy that goes into the preparations of the food. Perfectly seasoned and simply divine. I was a little upset there was no planteen in this meal, because they are very delicious as well and pair perfectly. But even that wasn't going to change my review. Go, eat here. Order a chicken patty, or Coco bread as well. And don't forget to leave a tip. You don't want to travel all the way back after you eat it to do it then. Believe me, I've actually done this in the past the food is just that good. Thank you for having us tonight, I will never forget how great the food you create here is and will always be a customer. Not waiting years to return again, days at most. Loved it, the kind of delicious that will have you eat it all even well past the point of being full.
The day was 11/6/2019 As a Rastafarian in buffalo it is difficult to find a place that serves quality vegetarian holistic food. While on our way to daemon college to present a National Financial Literacy Campaign to the students and faculty. We decided to Dine-In at Doctor Bird on Main Street. I asked if they had Ital and clerk went to check (the Jamaican In me could already predict the answer: “we no have dat” when going to a Jamaican Resturant the next opportunity is what you rly want because if they say yes they have it consider yourself very fortunate! The food so good it always sell out) The gentleman returned with the Cheff and proceeded to explain that the answer was No. Wise person said “No = Next Opportunity”. The Cheff provided a great opportunity for me to try something I have not eaten in over a decade. He offered to cook up a Vegetable Rundown dinner, without hesitation I accepted. As I waited I ordered 2 vegetable patty and coco bread as appetizer. My colleague who had outside food ask to taste the veggie patty! She was shocked at how amazing it taste, she rated it better than that of Golden Krust in NYC. Once my dinner arrived everyone in store said it looked amazing, my business partner again tried some of my meal and jokingly stated “wow that’s a nice portion, what did you say you need help finishing it” I laughed and shared some with her after she taste the food she was astonished at how flavorful the food really is. Now she wants to return back and order what I had. The overal day was amazing thanks to the chef and great service! We plan on returning Saturday to get the Jamaican national dish ackee and salt fish! To the chef & Crew Thank you Vegetable Rundown on point!
My daughter and I had the chicken curry dinners that came with rice beans and cabbage it was so delicious! That we went back the next day for more curry chicken dinner and added the jerk chicken dinner to try too😋So we highly recommend Dr. Birds. We are foodies 💁🏽♀️ The service was good👍🏽so we are grateful to have found another food spot to go to😉 Not to mention black owned🙅🏽♀️
First time ordering, and it was not disappointing. The Curry Goat was great. It was cooked to perfection, and the flavor was on point. The Curry Chicken tasted great, just the right amount of curry, only white meat no bones. Both dishes were well seasoned, tasted great, the potion was sufficient and came with one side each.
Food is delicious. Servings are extremely small. I will not come again, unless I get an adult serving.
Food is good but you will wait. The service is slow and I mean extremely slow. Regardless if you're the only one in there or if there is a line be prepared to wait. Waited 20 minutes for a beef patty that was already cooked i just asked for cheese. If you have someplace to go don't stop here or you're be late. If you have time to kill go here and your taste buds will thank you.
I’m originally from downstate Long Island, Queens, Brooklyn, the Bronx. People talked about Dr. Bird here. Every time I call to place an order they never have it. Wait times are crazy. And the customer service is not really that good. By any means am I trying to rip down a business but they must get uncomfortable. They just seem too comfortable right now because of the area they’re in. This establishment would not last down State. Once again, I’m not knocking them or trying to discourage anybody from going, but they need to change.
I use to love there Jamaica beef patties.I do not know what they did to them but the filling is disgusting.It like wet jellied filling,i don't even see the beef.why did they have to change it.i will not be going back anymore.even the other food is not as good either.please go back to what yall was doing before,even if we have to pay a little more for better ingredients
The food is tasty, true to Jamaican flavors. Yet, they could improve consistency with their schedule. Sometimes closed unexpectedly, which can be frustrating. Some menu items run out, disappointing. A more reliable schedule and better stock management would make dining better.
There's like a half spoon of cabbage I asked for extra gravy on the rice as you can see bone dry and this is what I paid $14 and some change for a medium curry goat which is actually a small never again
Always skimp on everything. Orders a side of rice and peas…can’t even fill up the plastic container with rice. Always on the skimp except for their prices. Last of my money they gonna see.
The food is tasty but seriously a rip off I got curry and oxtail combo there were 3 very little oxtails very very small and a cup full of curry for $27 that is so bad customer service I called and complained they said bring it back
3DAYS IN A ROW. Every time I call this female says hold and never comes back! Listen if you’re not going to take pick up orders at all remove them from your service . This place has missed out on cash due to the ignorance. I actually recommended them for my company and we tried to contact them! Embarrassing I will never support this business. I will go to the Caribbean experience instead!
This place is a joke to anyone who has tried authentic Jamaican food in the past. Not to mention their paltry kids meal size portions. Thank God there’s a tree blocking their store sign, so most people don’t notice it when driving past it. Don’t mistake their Jerk Chicken as being authentic Jerk. They bring shame to Jamaican food and couldn’t win any contests with their recipe. No thyme, pepper, ginger, or authentic herb was used in the chicken. You can probably get better jerk chicken inside a Mexican restaurant. Avoid at all costs. It’s not Jerk, it’s a joke.
The food was delicious BUT I barely got any !! I got ox tails cabbage n rice. The box wasn't even half full. I got a fork n a half of cabbage not even two bites smh And barely NO meat for $21 dollars that's ridiculous! I understand food prices have gone up so they charge more but I didn't even get full I had to make something else to eat too. A big tease cuz the food was real good im very disappointed!
