We stopped in on the way through town and this place did not disappoint. The service was fantastic and the food was phenomenal. Don't skip out on the Mexican spicy Latte. Thank you for having us!
AMAZING 5 Stars!!! – A Truly Special Experience at Santa Fe Café I don’t usually leave reviews, but I had to share what an amazing experience my sons and I had at Santa Fe Café in Calabasas. I came in with my two sons and our dog, and from the moment we arrived, we were welcomed like family. Victor, the owner, is absolutely incredible. He went above and beyond to make us feel at home. He made sure we were comfortable, checked in on us personally, and treated us with such kindness—it honestly felt like we were guests in his own home. That kind of hospitality is so rare, and it meant the world to us. He said we reminded him of when his kids were little and misses those days. And the food? Wow. This is hands down the best Mexican food I’ve ever had in my life. Every bite was full of flavor and clearly made with love. You can taste the care and tradition in each dish, and everything was so fresh and delicious. The whole experience was just warm, welcoming, and full of joy. My boys were happy, our dog was treated like part of the crew, and I left full of happiness (and my stomach too!). Thank you, Victor, for creating such a special place. We will absolutely be back, again and again. Santa Fe Café truly feels like home. -Chris
My picky kids and I love Santa Fe Café. It’s one of those true hole-in-the-wall spots that somehow ended up in Agoura/Calabasas like it got lost on its way to East LA—and I mean that in the best way possible. This place is the definition of a mom-and-pop joint. Victor (the owner) and his wife aren’t just running a restaurant—they’re living their passion. You’ll feel it the second you walk in… and again when you leave on a first-name basis. The vibe is old-school and unapologetically nostalgic. The food? Legit Mexican. No trendy fusion nonsense, just real-deal comfort food that actually tastes like someone’s abuelita made it. The chilaquiles are a must, and surprisingly, the kids menu is solid enough to keep even my food critics-in-training happy. Bonus: They throw a great Cinco de Mayo party with live mariachi—good times, zero pretension. Parking is always easy (a miracle in LA county), and your food comes out hot and fast, just how it should be. Hidden gem status: confirmed. Big shoutout to Victor for keeping it real.
Great nostalgic restaurant with great food. This place has been around since 1992 and I hadn’t been since the late 1990’s. I went back in June of 2024 so it was a nice travel back in time for me. Great grande chicken burrito with more chicken than you get in a popular chain burrito 🌯 place. Chips good too made fresh. Cute decor with indoor/outdoor seating, free iced water, and a discount for using cash. Skip the chain Mexican food places and try it.

Crazy idea initially but parmesan on the tortilla for tacos is AMAZING. Salsa are the best. Been going there for years now and we love it.
Excellent food for a reasonable price. The fish tacos with jalapeño sauce were delicious! Super friendly staff.
Terrific local place for quality Mexican food. Fresh ingredients and friendly service. Pam has owned this place a long time and has really instilled a tradition of quality in all of her employees. Very friendly service too! Go in for a great breakfast burrito. If they have the ingredients, they will definitely "make it your way". My favorite is a pretty healthy breakfast burrito: Egg whites, black beans, cabbage, onions, cilantro and avocado. The owner Pam should call this the Steve Burrito! Or the Esteban Burrito. Either way, do yourself and visit this great local restaurant. To make it even better, you can get the best coffee in the area 30 feet away at Cafe Ole! Cheers!
Really low-key, lovely place with good beverages, an array of pastries, and a friendly barista! It's a great place to study, do some work, or visit with friends before or after doing a hike on the nearby trail.
Love this place. The food is always good, and the service is friendly.
Delicious freshly made food. The Breakfast tacos of chorizo and eggs are wonderful. You have a variety of sauces, chopped onion, cilantro to add to your liking. Won't Dissappoint.. Also their lunch menu is equally as good. Second time there and will definitely go back.
These are my favorite tacos and salsas of all time made by truly caring and genuinely kind people, Victor and Maria. The salsas are homemade and fresh and the tacos with the parmesan dusted corn tortillas are completely unique and incredible. I have tried almost everything on the menu and I have never been disappointed. Victor, Maria and their family are amazingly friendly and make supporting this local business even better than their homemade amazing food. I love Santa Fe Cafe! Thank you for keeping everything tasting amazing!
This place never disappoints. Been coming here since they opened in the early '90s. Huevos Ranchero is lit! Tacos are amazing. You just can't go wrong with this place.
I ordered take-out and it was ready within 15 minutes. Excellent, fresh ingredients in my Vegetarian Burrito. They included some chips and verde salsa, too. Will visit again!
This place has been here for more than 30 years. The guy in here was an absolute chiller. Food was good, service was good.
We were next door doing laundry and decided to walk over for a few tacos while we waited. Boy was that the right choice! The tacos are really good. They are not super fancy but definitely a must have. I got the steak tacos and the meat was good quality, not all gristle or fat like some taco places do. The shell was covered in a yummy Parmesan coating. It was very unique and good. Definitely recommend the tacos.
Food was delicious. Had the fish burrito & a blackened shrimp taco. The fish burrito was solid but the blackened shrimp taco was definitely the highlight of my meal. The way it was prepared and seasoned was phenomenal and I’d definitely recommend to give this place a shot if you’re in Calabasas. The prices are fair given the area. They also were open on Christmas Day which definitely saved my stomach when I was super hungry after a long day in Malibu.

I ordered the "famous chicken tacos". Not impressed. The tortilla used was a lousy, weird texture. Not sure if it's because I got it to go or something else is wrong with it. The chicken itself was...... mediocre. If you're used to some of the Mexican tacos over the hill in LA, you'll be profoundly disappointed eating these. Unfamiliar with the rest of their menu. Hesitant to go back due to my first experience being so poor. Hate to give an independent small business an unflattering review, but they absolutely need to do better.

I was driving from LA to Santa Ynez and needed something quick. I ordered a breakfast burrito which was described as having hash browns, onions, bell pepper, cheese and sour cream. I received a burrito with no seasoning, no bell pepper and no onion. There were no hash browns, just huge chunks of mushy potatoes also without seasoning. I ordered it without cheese but I was still expecting the bell pepper and onion as described on the menu. $14.14 after tip for potatoes and eggs in a tortilla. I also ordered a drip coffee that was cold. Such a waste of $20. So disappointed.
Two businesses in one place. The coffee place was perfect, good coffee and very nice waiter! The restaurant was BAD. No smiles from the waiter, no serving, the food was terrible and the diet coke tasted like chlorine! The forks and knives are made of plastic, but are so cheap that they are impossible to Eat with!
