Loaded cod tacos, 4 for $18 which ain't bad for around here. Wine is paired to menu items on the menu for you, easy peasy. Staff was efficient and nice, while coping with the HSU graduation crowd. Has outdoor dining, one of the most beautiful views in Eureka.

It is great place . It is situated on the waterfront . It is fine dining .We split the spicey seafood bowl . It comes with clam chowder or organic salad. The clam chowder was pure perfection. I got the lavender lemonade with an edible flower. That was by far the most delicious lemonade I had . The seafood bowl came Dungeness crab, clams, shrimp with corn , new potatoes and organic salad. There was also bread to dip in the broth.The staff was friendly and prompt. I would highly recommend this restaurant. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I was working in Eureka for 2 weeks, I was looking for good oysters this place did not disappoint at all. The service was great and the food was amazing I went back here 3 times before I went back home. I highly recommend this place I can't wait to come back.

I'm glad I gave this place another chance. Their service and food has improved from when I first tried them years ago during the grand opening. The fish and chips where really delicious, the batter was light and crispy, fish tasted fresh. The clam chowder was delicious as well. The fish tacos where just ok, I wouldn't order it again.

I really enjoyed my dinner at Jack’s. The staff were working hard and provided great service. I had fish tacos and my husband had the fish and chips. Both were delicious. We enjoyed the view of the bay and drinks while we waited for our food. I recommend Jack’s!

Great food and great view! This is a popular place so be prepared to wait 20 to 30 min. The staff is friendly and the food comes out quickly. This is an easy walk from downtown and a great view of the ocean. I really enjoyed the fish and chips.

Can’t believe it! Amazing fresh seafood. No wait, amazing service. Freshest and best Kumamoto Oysters I’ve ever had. The local wild caught fresh Steel Head Trout - $19 with soup or salad- CRAZY GOOD. Note: Being an East Coaster it’s hard to say but this Cali NE Clam chowder is special.

Had lunch Sept. 26, 2023. Food was great service was really good, especially considering how service is these days. We took our dog and sat outside and watched the boats come in. I had a combo of shrimp and fish. Best shrimp I’ve had in years. Wife had scallops, said they were really good, but a little on the small side. I’ll eat there again for sure!

I absolutely recommend this restaurant. The shrimp is to die for. Possibly the best shrimp I've ever had. The clam chowder w/sourdough and herb butter was delicious.. The Clam strips were tender and fresh. The spicy coleslaw was spicy/sweet. That's saying a lot because I've had a lot of shrimp. The staff was fun and fast at the job. We were surprised at the speed at which we were served. Now this place us so popular you do on occasion have to wait to be seated, but it's completely worth it. Don't hesitate to eat here if given the chance. Wow just delicious. I promise. As you can see in the photos it's very appealing.

fantastic. the ahi tuna salad was wonderful; the pineapple was very sweet, everything was fresh, and the tuna was incredible. perfectly seared with delicious sesame. the cup of clam chowder was lovely as well(though i always want more clams.) my friends got the crab cakes sandwich and the calamari and chips. the crab cakes were good, the calamari was amazing. the sauces served with the calamari were both fantastic. we're absolutely coming back.

Great food & friendly helpful staff! FISH & CHIPS most excellent local COD & delightful coleslaw with wonderful fresh cut home fries that are guaranteed to be enjoyable! Gosh wish I could be around here more often (just driving thru) as I'd like to try other items even though many are a bit more tourist priced. Lucky for me I was craving "best" fish & chips around and JACK'S DELIVERED one of the best I've ever had!

The clam chowder here was awesome! I had a garden salad with the house vinaigrette and Brazilian Stew. Everything was very good. The service was great. The food was very fresh. Highly recommend!!!

We had the grilled steelhead and halibut fish & chips...came with greens salad, yummy chowder and bread. We also had the deep fried mushrooms...loved the light, crispy batter. Everything was delicious, served promptly and very friendly servers. Prices comparable to other places of this caliber...$25-30 per person plus a little more for drinks and appetizers.

Absolutely LOVE this restaurant! Fresh seafood perfectly prepared and delicious! Friendly service, too! While eating here we watched a trawler offload several hundred pounds of live crabs just behind Jack's. Can't get much fresher than that. Photos & video below. They do have a large separate room for large parties, two guest bathrooms as well as highchairs and booster seats for the kiddos. Oh, and a well stocked bar for the grown-ups. In the steps-away free parking lot there are two ChargePoint Level 2 chargers. Cost varies by time of day. Highly recommend Jack's!

The service was excellent, the clam chowder was good and had large clams, but the shrimp fettuccine was absolutely amazing! The shrimp was cooked to absolute perfection with great flavor, and the sauce was filled with creamy, garlicy goodness.

First of all, the restaurant was clean and it smelled good. The atmosphere was comfortable and clean. The waitress was awesome! She was prompt and courteous, and she was very knowledgeable. The food was awesome! If you like oysters, they had some delicious oysters that were baked and / or prepared in the half shell. They had delicious flavors. Although a little spendy. It's pretty much the going price everywhere. Everything on the menu sounded absolutely delicious. It made it a little difficult to decide. We ordered fish and chips meal with jumbo shrimp and halibut. But they did give you the choice to order Cod instead of halibut. They had a wonderful selection of soups. We had a miso mushroom soup, and my niece had the clam chowder. She was very happy with that also. The oyster appetizers were delicious. I want to go back there soon and I want to get the lump crab sandwich! The food, service and location were all great. Our waitress was super nice and made great recommendations. The ahi salad was good but the sauce could’ve been more flavorful and thicker. Clam chowder was fine. Cioppino was delicious and had a nice kick to it with a generous amount of flavorful seafood. Drinks were just ok. Over all highly recommend this place.

I had the shrimp poboy 1/2 sandwich with a cup of clam chowder and it was so good and affordable. Three good and drinks were all very good. We had the steelhead and alfredo. I do wish they gave you an option to pick your own sides. My alfredo said it came with miso soup or salad and i wasn't offered either.

I do not write reviews that often but this one I have to. If you ever tried fish and chips from other places, I STRONGLY recommend try fish and chips from this place. Normally I do NOT like fish and chips because the fried fish are not that great; like using frozen fish ? My thoughts on fish and chips completely changed once you try this place. It is so yummy, crunchy, and so fresh.... You have to try this place. PS. Kids love calamari sticks!

Husband and I stayed at Eureka two nights before visiting Redwoods National Park. We knew it was Valentines night so we went for an early dinner at 4pm. Had a wonderful time! Food was fresh and hot (temperature wise). Waitresses were nice and friendly. We ate fresh raw oysters (they came with fresh fish roe on top!), ahi tuna salad, clam chowder, steam mussels in tomato broth and ciopinno (mixed seafood in red sauce that comes w bread). All very fresh, taste just perfectly blended. Chowder was hot and creamy with fresh clams. They usually take reservations but not allowed during Valentines Day. With Covid, outdoor seating only. By the time we finished, more couples showed up and needed to wait patiently. Worth the wait!

If you come here, I would recommend looking at the board for the fresh catches of the day. We had the fresh grilled cod and halibut fish tacos, which were delicious!!

We loved Jacks Seafood! My daughter has celiac disease and they were fairly knowledgeable about what she could/couldn’t have, and they were definitely accommodating. They do have a shared fryer, so the chips and guacamole are a no go for celiacs. We tried shrimp and fish tacos, and the clam chowder. All of them were 10/10. The chips and guac and were amazing too

First time trying this place. Really enjoyed being there. Our server was awesome, very helpful in decision-making. Food was really good. Shrimp Po boy was delicious but could’ve stood to have a little more shrimp. Pricewise pretty good value for the money. We would go back.

The view is really nice, especially if you can snag a seat outside and the clam chowder and fish tacos were tasty and fresh. The staff were friendly. Still, good flavors and fun spot to sit and watch the water. Would come back if I’m in the mood for seafood.

Nice menu, some traditional seafood dish & some more authentic. Prompt service and good food with large portions. The outdoor seating is very nice over looking the harbor.

We've come out twice over the summer and it hits all the right notes down to the great location with lots to see and a clean bathroom.

Phenomenal food, fantastic service and a beautiful ocean view! What more could you want? My husband and I are visiting for the weekend so we decided to stop here for lunch. We ordered a bowl of the clam chowder and the crab cakes to start. Both were delicious! Hubby had the tuna melt & I ordered the Baja Fish Tacos - spectacular. The service was even better! So attentive & friendly. To wet the whistle, Hubby enjoyed a couple O’Douls and I had a yummy lemonade that wasn’t too sweet, just the way I like it! If you’re in the area, this place is a must try. 10/10 wish I would’ve taken more pictures of the fabulous food!

Food outstanding! We had calamari and fish tacos. The two sauces for calamari were outstanding and calamari was very lightly breaded. PERFECT TASTE! Fish tacos had lots of fish, crispy corn tortillas tasted homemade and stuffed full of fish and vegetables. Very good food and highly recommend. Fast and friendly service too! Only thing disappointing was we sat by windows to watch water and windows were filthy. If traveling through area, would definitely eat here again!

Got in very quick and my server was very nice. I ordered the Halibut, with rice and vegetables. It was very delicious! The portions were a little small for the price, but that is to be expected in a touristy place right on the ocean front, right? I also ordered the Clam Chowder for an extra 2.00. It was very good, but I have never seen such a small bowl of chowder. It was maybe 3 oz. Oh well maybe they were doing me a favor since the doc says I need to lose weight. I loved the atmosphere, watching the people get on and off the bay tours that run throughout the day.

Wow! Everything was so delicious I couldn’t stop eating. We ordered clam chowder, scallops, steamer clams and shrimp tacos - and every dish was absolutely amazing. The clam chowder was the best I’ve ever had! I only wish we were staying longer in the city so we could come back.

2 waitresses managed the restaurant they deserve kudos for doing it all. Wished the outside would have been available it was a beautiful evening. Those in our party thought the clam chowder was better than another local place we had already eaten at. The crab cakes could have more crab, less filling, and maybe a bit thicker and more brown than black, but flavor was great. Clams with linguine was different in a broth vs a creamy sauce. Grilled halibut was great. Halibut and chips were so so. The Halibut was a little thick and needed to be thinner and cooked a bit more for a good crunch and making it less soggy on the inside. Chips, aka steak fries, were great. The coleslaw needed more flavor and less mayo. Drinks were not very sweet if you like citrus, then they would suite you well. Windows to bay could use a wash. Restaurant overall was much smaller than it appeared from outside. Seafood, though, was fresh.

Jacks is a good place. We visited at the end of May and I bet its busy in the full on summer months. Location is great with a nice view of the bay. Dining area is pleasant with large windows and wait staff are very nice and fast. I had Fish and Chips ($18) and my wife had Fish Tacos ($18 for 4) The Tacos were really good. Fish and chips good also but not as good as Tacos. The Clam Chowder ($7) is good but its less traditional recipe, it more soup like and blended. had great taste, different texture. The other seafood looked amazing but we have bot eaten it yet. Overall good place. 👍🏻

Absolutely amazing food and service. My family and I had a wonderful time. I would highly recommend this restaurant! Brittany was excellent, she was attentive, fast, accommodating, and so incredibly sweet. To start we had a beautifully fresh salad, creamy clam chowder, and savory mushroom miso soup. For an entree I would definitely recommend the seafood Alfredo; with shrimp, crab, and scallops, the crab Mac and cheese, the grilled steelhead trout, and the combo fish and chips. Everything was sooo good, the vegetables were so fresh and so was the seafood (you could even watch the boats come in to bring fresh seafood). After all the wonderful food we had a decadent tiramisu, and a silky chocolate mousse. I cannot recommend this place enough!

I had the cipppino and it was excellent. The clam chowder was very good as a starter. Wait staff were very good. Nice view of the water. Others at the table had grilled Halibut, fish tacos and the Poboy sandwich. Everyone enjoyed all the meals. Price was very good. I would go again.

The Alfredo and clam chowder was superb! It was pretty busy but service was good. The seafood boil was pretty bland but had a good kick to it.

I didn’t enjoy my crab cake sandwich—it had a bitter taste that threw it off. On the bright side, my wife enjoyed her calamari, and my daughter loved her fish and chips. I found the calamari to be just average, but the fish was excellent. Unfortunately, the service was underwhelming.

We were for lunch. The crane is fresh and tasty, fish sandwich is terrific. Even better, the clam chowder was discounted as we ordered Dungeness crab - we didn’t know this until receiving the bill

Halibut burger was delicious here!! Service was also fun and friendly! And even with socially distancing outdoor dining! There were actually alot of tables open! Maybe it helps to have squares and line them up by rows and grids!

The clam chowder and mushroom miso were tasty. The clam chowder is the best I’ve tried locally. The shrimp tacos were tasty but oversalted/overseasoned. The waitstaff was friendly and answered questions.

This place has a great location/views. We got there before the dinner crowd and got a table with a window view (their was a transient outside gathering his belongings). We ordered oysters, clam chowder and crab sandwich. All were delicious. I do wish the crab sandwich was a little bigger. The clam chowder was on the lighter thick side and had a subtle sweetness - was it the slices of carrots? Dunno - it was damn good!

Nice restaurant situated on the Harbor. Clam chowder was a bit playing and could have used seasoning. The large crab salad was very good.

Decent little place. Some prices felt high while others felt about right. The food was good and tasted fresh. We had 4 clam-based dishes. Only a single clam tasted gritty. 99% of them were cleaned properly.

Beautiful place, great service, recommend the crab sandwich. However, the Fish & chips, clam chowder, fish tacos, and the kids menu items were to diner quality and taste. Fettuccine alfredo was also pretty good. Coconut shrimp and fries (chips) over cooked.

Solid seafood place. Food is good and so is the service. I would say the price is pretty standard for a place like this. The location is nice right next to where the Madekat launches their boat tours, so a great place to do a tour and then get a bite to eat. I got the shrimp po boy and they were able to deep fry the shrimp for me!

We are just visiting the area looking for great seafood. Tried Jack's. Every Thursday through the summer there is a concert series so parking can be a challenge. There's a big public lot, we were able to find a spot. We loved the clam chowder. My fettuccine Alfredo with crab meat was good. Hubby's poboy shrimp sandwich was a little spicy for his taste.

We were able to get an outside table and the atmosphere was perfect. Watching boats come in and out was a lot of fun and the weather was perfect. The food was mediocre at best. Salads looked good, but the soup was just OK. Butter that came with the bread was good but the bread was plain. Calamari had very little flavor and was chewy. The sauces that came with it were unusual. We weren't given any salt and pepper so we found it for ourselves on a nearby cart. We had shrimp and grilled fish tacos both were good, but dry and the sauce that was served with them was just salsa. We also had Alfredo and it was watery. Like a noodle and milk soup. The 5 scallops included in the scallop dish were the best thing we had. Service was slow and we had to keep requesting drink refills. Overall, food is just OK, but priced too high, service is slow and atmosphere outside was great!

We were looking for a seafood place and we found it. It was exactly what you'd expect in a seaside town during tourist season. The food was good but a couple things could be better. The sauce for the plates of pasta my kids and my husband got were watery. One of my kids doesn't eat fish/ seafood so I would have liked a couple more non-fish items. I think I saw 2 that weren't salad. I really enjoyed the scallops and the garlic butter for the bread was so, so good. I would suggest bread for the table for every table so you really spotlight that! The atmosphere was nice and we happened to come during sunset. Seemed really pricey so maybe better for a night out than dinner with the family

I searched for the best calamari in the area, and Jack's came into my feed. After reading a few reviews, I opted to explore the hype. Yes, the calamari tastes fresh. The first time, the calamari was cold. I asked the server if the calamari was made in "batches"... sadly, the answer was yes. She quickly took the dish back and brought me a fresh hot plate. The serving doesn't match the price, and it's flavorless. The raw kumamoto oysters were perfection and made up for the flop from the calamari. For calamari fans, I recommend to continue searching.

Food was pretty good, surroundings great. However, everybody got their meal, I had to wait for just my sandwich another 10 minutes because they were "busy". Not really...

The clam chowder was ok, but not enough clam. The bread is not toasted, but the butter is yummy. The ice tea was watered down , and the brownies for dessert were super hard. The service was nice however, and their is a bay view.

Only one out of our party of 5 was happy with their meal. While portions were good, there was an overall lack of flavor. We will not be back.

I'm from the bay so I don't know if my standard is just different, but for the price they charge, it needs a lot of improvement. Clam chowder was amazing, bread was almost stale and had no density to save it, it would be better if they just did oyster crackers. The grilled oysters were just bland, the raw was good but I got almost an entire oyster that was mostly broken shell so they need to clean them a little better before putting the toppings. The pasta and scallops were fine just under seasoned, easy fix on their part. Service and space were nice, I think our server was nice and took care of us just fine.

They are under staffed so be prepared to be patient but the ones who are there are definitely working hard. The food was decent, the chowder was better than I thought it would be after reading some of the reviews. I think a decent amount of items were probably cooked from frozen. Gratuity is added to the bill for parties of 6 plus people and/ or if your bill adds up to at least 200$.

We got stuck behind a large tour group of 40 so our service was a pretty slow. That said, the crab cakes were underwhelming and the halibut and chips were oily. The fried calamari was a standout as were the scallops. Our server was really great and friendly but because of the aforementioned group, wasn't able to give us the attention we needed. More like 3.5 husband ordered fish n chips. He said it could have used more salt. We shared the fried mushrooms which were perfect. The clam chowder was good it was warm . The place wasn’t very busy so we were able to sit right up at the bar. We waited about 5 minutes for anyone to acknowledge we were there. We ordered drinks, crab melt with fries, fish and chips. There were two different groups trying to either get drinks or shots up at the bar before heading out on a boat tour and were refused service bc there was a wait. Cool place but everything else was just average.

To start service was TRASH lady paid zero attention to me or family seemed clue less. My family had ordered a clam soup had zero clams only vegetables... and some potatoes. I ordered halibut hamburger it was good no issues. Ranch sauce was good too. I was told from other family I came with some bread that came with the meal was pretty cold not warm which made it chewy. Mainly tho service sucked.

The food was amazing!! The cocktails? Trash! The food is amazing when I was there. The bartender kept telling us how amazing his drinks were, only for them to be the most garbage cocktails. He literally said "I dont mean to toot my own horn but I make amazing drinks" only for me to receive the most garbage cocktails I have ever tasted. As a customer I could have made my own drink that was actually worth the money we paid for it

Had the pleasure of having Journey be our waitress. I wanted to have a 1/2 dozen oysters, ut they were out. So I started out with clam chowder, wish there were more clams. For my entree I had the spicy seafood bowl with medium spice. The shrimp were cooked perfectly, the muscles were well cooked, unfortunately the crab was overcooked. The corn was undercooked. The potatoes were okay. I also had a cocktail that I can't quite remember the name it was fog something. It was made with bourbon, and it was quite good. I might have had a second one had Journey come around to ask.

Overprice, most dishes are subpar . Only one dish is worth ordering that is of value . Fish and chips Do not order halibut burger: there's only two small pieces of fish in there, the rest is stack with lettuce and tomato and poor quality tatar sauce. The fries that comes with it is drier than Joe Biden's dad joke. Lastly, they are short staff and it leads to terrible sanitation display. The Asian lady that serve everyone wear a gloves. It is clean for her but her gloves carries bacteria that she touches everything and she grabs cups and foods and bring it to everyone spreading it Overall: avoid the drinks and other foods, just get fish and chips to avoid disappointment

The food, which was not good, was better than the service. My husband ordered the scallops which arrived cold. I ordered the fettuccine with onions & tomatoes (an option per the menu). We were seated on the patio alongside 3 other tables of people, our food was served & the wait staff completely disappeared. My husband walked inside to try to get the bill & could find no one. I ended up calling the restaurant and asking the person to please bring the check. Our waiter came out with the check & I mentioned that his scallops were cold and that there were no tomatoes or onions on the pasta and his response was, “yeah, sometimes they put it on so I never asked.” We were never offered beverages as ours went dry, no, “would you like pepper or parm on your pasta,” etc… We had dinner at a sea food restaurant, downtown, the next evening and it was spectacular.

Service was ok. Food was not the best. Better sea food restaurants nearby. Has outdoor seating,

1. Food was not as good as I expected. It was a seafood restaurant but my clam liguini was more of a pasta bowl and small serving of clams. (The clams were on the top so it was looking like it had more clams). 2. We were welcomed with flies (this was indoor seating). 3. It is noticable that our server was over worked as he had the whole section in our corner. 4. Worst, the Asian lady brought out our food and served it in the next seating. She didnt wait to confirm it with the costumer. The guy called her back to say they never ordered the linguine. They did order the fish/calamari so she left the plate to them but they got the plate with spicy coleslaw and my husband got the nonspicy. (He ordered the spicy). The Asian lady took back the liguini and then came back later to serve it to us. I wasnt sure if it was touched but I didnt want to return it as I wasnt sure if I am going to win the battle and I was really hungry. Do not recommend this place.

We set for 45 minutes before we got our drinks....our appetizer came basically the same time as our food did... Had to ask for the clam chowder that we ordered... After sitting for 30 minutes before anyone came to our table...The food was okay the drinks were better....

Their seafood alfredo has been excellent before but yesterday evening on our anniversary it was packed and took 45 minutes to get food. Clam chowder was cold. When seafood Alfredo arrived it looked picture perfect but was thin and tasted like milk with raw garlic and onion in it. No cheese blend at all. The scallops and shrimp I added for $10 were good. Was starving and ate it, and when told waitress, they asked if I wanted something else and I didn’t. I just wanted Alfredo. Completely let down. And had to pay $33 for it plus tip. Waitress said they thought it was just because it was busy. Sad that the best Alfredo (used to be made from scratch at Jacks with several different cheeses) I’ve had anywhere in the world is not consistently offered at Jacks. Will not return.

Its funny how the service and atmosphere can sometimes predetermine how you will feel about the food and how it tastes. Came on a Wednesday night around 6:15pm. It was a full house with 2 servers and a bartender who took tables as well. Long wait, sat down, wasn’t greeted for almost 20 minutes. She took our full order after greeting us. Our server was nice enough but running around like crazy. Took another 45 mins to get our food and by that time, I just knew we wouldn’t enjoy it as much as we should’ve/could’ve. I got the ciopinno and it was 6/10- my husband got the steak and he said 5/10 though he did like it was juicy, he said it wasn’t anything more than a normal steak. Glad we tried it but wouldn’t go back. They need more wait staff- i felt bad to give this rating cause I know how it is sometimes but for spending what we did, we just expected more.

I have never been to a restaurant and had both the waiter and manager lie to me. Instead of apologizing about the poor service and not bringing my food out, they became defensive and even yelled at us. I realize that the restaurant was busy, but come on, at least be honest with your customers. The waiter didn't come to check on us to see that my food had never arrived until everyone else at the table was done eating. By that time, I just wanted to leave, so I told him I didn't want my dinner. What did he do? He had the kitchen make it anyway, then acted like he did us a favor by comping my meal. Then, they had the nerve after not providing service of charging us a 20% gratuity for a service of 6 when only 5 had dinner. He sure didn't earn any of it. Worst restaurant experience ever.

Being crab season I took my girl there for crab cocktail, I should have refused the cocktail because it wasn't a crab cocktail it was a lot of lettuce and very little meat, I don't even think it was crab, I've eaten in eureka for 45 years and have never had such terrible food, for your own good don't ever spend your money there it SUCKS.

I rarely leave bad reviews, but I feel compelled to warn others about my experience here. From the moment we walked in, the staff was unbelievably rude — it felt like we were an inconvenience just for showing up. Our server barely acknowledged us, acted annoyed when we asked simple questions about the menu, and didn’t check on our table once after dropping off the food. Speaking of the food… it was just as disappointing. Everything tasted bland and overcooked, like it had been sitting out for hours. My dish was barely warm and the meat was dry and rubbery. The sides were soggy and flavorless, and my friend’s meal was so salty it was inedible. When we politely mentioned this, the server just shrugged and walked away. There are plenty of other places in town that actually care about good food and treating customers with respect. I’d strongly recommend going literally anywhere else before wasting your time.
