A hidden gem. Just arriving was a beautiful walk in, the atmosphere is low lit, floral, and warm. The lady at the front was very polite and quick to help us, asking if there was an occasion too (3rd anniversary). She sat us in a booth and already we had a sub-server helping us with our choice of water. The menu had great variety, and a wine menu of it's own. We ordered the 16 oz Sirloin (medium), Lobster Mac & Cheese, Swordfish Dip, and the Painkiller drink. All of which arrived quickly and were delicious. Our servers: Patient; as our first time here we took a while to decide what we wanted. Attentive; they even noticed our candle blew out and quickly lit it again. Personable; when we had questions regarding items on the menu we got great explanations. I am very excited for my next visit here ❤️
I enjoyed a peaceful happy hour on New Year's Day. The whole hotel was quiet - a welcome feature while traveling home after the holidays. The food and drinks were wonderful and the drinks especially were huge! My only complaint is that I'm going to want to come here every time I passing through Houston.
Booked dinner for 2 for my bday … Wednesday night, not crowded, great service and attention. Each dish had a “spin” … like “smoked guacamole”, “broccolini with macha sauce bits” We had the Churrasco … a complication of delicious meats carved table side” Great food, great drinks, great atmosphere!
Hands down my new favorite resturant in Houston. Coming out the elevator the dining room and bar area was beautiful. Lighting was perfect, the ascetic of the resturant was sexy, the large ceiling to floor windows gave an amazing view of downtown, and the background music wasn't too loud. All of the staff was very attentive and polite. The wine selection was great, you could tell they took time and thought into the selection. Not sure about you but I really dislike an overwhelming 10 page wine selection that some resturants have. The craft drinks all looked lively and refreshing as well as the mocktails. Starters: Sweet corn empanadas were cute and small. The empanadas them self looked perfectly fried and full of stuffing. The dish taste as good as it looked. The empanada was soft but still a little crunchy, and the sweet corn was creamy. The balance of the salty from the empanada and the sweet of the corn and cream went perfect together. Octopus Anticucho was a definite wow. Octopus is so easy to mess up but this was cooked perfectly. The miso panca sauce, ají rice foam, peas, and chili chimichurri definitely paired great with the octopus. The sauce and foam was tangy but not overpowering, creamy, and a little kick from the chili. Main Course: Bone-In Beef Rib Al Carbon.. beef ribs are hard to cook. They either come out too dry, or too greasy. No...this was great. Still served on the bone but cut into little sections so that you can make lettuce wraps out of it. The pickled onion and peppers added a perfect acidity to the wrap that accentuated the flavor of the beef even more. Deserts: Lake Bonba The show with this desert was cute. Its a chocolate half sphere with 3 different ice creams, berry crumble, and brownie with vanilla & berry sauce drizzled on top. The brownie was the most moist, dense, chocolaty brownie I've ever had. The shell it self was awesome, and few times I just used the shell pieces as a spoon to scoop everything into one bite. Yellow Corn cake Presentation was beautiful. Honestly not my favorite of the deserts we had as Im a chocolate person but super cute presentation. Black sesame cream puff Oh my lord I would come here just for this and coffee. Each bite was just a fluffy chocolate cloud that melted in your mouth.
Thanksgiving brunch was awesome! Impressive spread and presentation at all the food stations- sushi, seafood, pasta, omelette, traditional Thanksgiving, salad, waffles, rolls/pastries/muffins, dessert, special holiday cocktails. We had a very large party and Toro Toro was able to accommodate one large, long table for all of us to sit together, in the perfect location to be able to have family conversations without raising our voices (other tables were located closer to the buffet and therefore noisier but still great for convo). The service was perfect, all were attentive and able to accommodate our many drink requests. The decor was festive with live music, comfortable and there was plenty of room to navigate even during peak dining time (12noon). We actually had 10:30am reservation which was absolutely the best time. Apologies there are no photos...we were too busy eating...but trust me it was delicious. We will definitely be back! Thank you Toro Toro!
If you’re looking for a great spot for business meetings, birthday celebrations, or happy hour, this place is a must-visit! Located on the 3rd floor of the Four Seasons, it offers fantastic service, a beautiful atmosphere, and a lively vibe. The staff is incredibly attentive, making your experience even better. I had the chance to try their sushi, and it was outstanding—every piece was fresh and delicious. We also sampled some appetizers like the tacos and empanadas, which definitely didn’t disappoint. And if you’re into margaritas, theirs are top-notch! Overall, I loved the energy here—from the ambiance to the friendly staff, it’s the perfect place to enjoy a great time. Highly recommend!
Went here to celebrate our 16 year anniversary. It's inside the hotel so we had to Valet. Note, the restaurant will validate. With the validation from the restaurant we still had to pay 6 or 7 dollars. I think that was a mandatory tip. The restaurant is beautifuly decorated. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. We were well take care of all night. We started with octopus. My husband had bourbon and I had a couple smoked old fashions. They were wonderful. The octopus was cooked perfectly. We got the tomahawk for our main dish to share with the parmesan truffle fries. The fries were crispy, the tomahawk was sexy and cooked perfectly. We ended the night with a chocolate tart and complimentary champagne. It was a wonderful experience. I loved every minute of it, best anniversary ever!
A wonderful experience at Toro Toro. We ordered the filet mignon medium rare and my son said it’s the best steak he’s ever tasted. We also loved the lobster mac and cheese! My cocktail arrived in a glass bottled and was poured into the glass. Our server (I wish I could recall his name) was the most astute and professional server ever. He was on point and showed interest in my son’s basketball team. We also enjoyed breakfast here. The host staff was so friendly both times. I cannot say enough good things about this place!
Went here on a Sunday evening for a galentine's dinner. The food and service were amazing! We had such a great experience trying a variety of dishes. Everything was delicious! My favorites were the smoked Guacamole, Peruvian Ceviche, and the Angry Scorpion Roll. The hospitality was on another level! Everyone was very nice and attentive.
One of a kind place. The antelope was the star of the show! I had no idea how much I actually would enjoy it. They have a great cocktail selection too! We celebrated our anniversary here and it was close and intimate. Our server did seem like he was in a rush at all times but that was okay. We also enjoyed our complimentary glass of wine.
1) octopus starter (8-10) was well cooked. I personally enjoyed tasting the meat and the potatoes on their own, since to me the sweetness of the potatoes took from the very nice flavor of the meat. 2) bison tartare (8.5-10) ( probably should be labeled as bison carpaccio) great flavor and a bit of heat. A Must try, if you like cold raw cuts. 3) truffles fries were nice (7-10). Very soft truffle flavor. 4) Peruvian ceviche was very refreshing (7-10) —— service was very professional.
Went here for an anniversary dinner. The restaurant is located inside of the Four Seasons hotel, so you have to valet if you're not staying there. The restaurant is located on the second floor and it's an open concept style that is awesomely decorated. The seating can feel intimate despite the setting. The staff is friendly and professional. The food is lightly seasoned. I prefer bursting with flavor, so be prepared for that. The salmon was ok, nothing special. The lobster Mac and cheese was decent. The asparagus was good and the fries were average. I don't think the price justifies the quality of the food but the atmosphere might justify it. I probably won't be back for dinner but might return for drinks.
I went with my family for New Year's. We saw them on social media and were excited because the menu listed Peruvian ceviche, lomo saltado, and other dishes. I'm from Peru, and our food is ranked among the top 5 in the world. Unfortunately, the ceviche didn't have our traditional seasoning, and the lomo saltado was nothing like it. I think if they want to do something different, they shouldn't call it lomo saltado, as someone trying it for the first time would get the wrong idea about our cooking. I liked the atmosphere, and the service was very good. What we liked most was the dessert, the "bomba." I don't think we would go back.
Beautiful space & stellar service, but the kitchen fell short — especially for a high-end steakhouse. I’d heard nothing but raves about Toro Toro, and the space itself is stunning. Our evening began on a high note: our server was exceptional—attentive, kind, and quick to address any concerns. Highlights • Cocktails: The Tamarindo and the Piña Mezcalita were both excellent—well-balanced and beautifully presented. • Starters: We enjoyed the Jamón Ibérico with pan con tomate, and the truffle fries paired with aji tartar and cotija were a favorite. Where it fell apart As a party of three, we chose the ToroToro Churrasco platter (based on our server’s recommendation) along with lobster mac & cheese and grilled asparagus. • The lobster mac arrived first and immediately looked dry. Sadly, it tasted just as bad—cold, bland, and the lobster was rubbery. • The grilled asparagus had good flavor but was also served cold. • The churrasco was beautifully presented and cooked to a perfect medium, but every single cut of meat was cold. Our server did his best to recover the experience, offering a replacement side (we chose the truffle fries again, which came out hot and delicious)after only bringing up that we did not care for the lobster mac, but the damage was done. Bottom line For a restaurant of this caliber—especially one positioning itself as a high-end steakhouse—serving cold mains and poorly executed sides is simply not acceptable. At this price point, consistency and execution are non-negotiable. While we hope this was just an off night, Toro Toro didn’t live up to the many glowing recommendations we received. We’re not writing it off entirely, but it left us hesitant to return anytime soon.
