Had an amazing experience for the joint celebration of my mom and I's birthday. Our chef was fun and put on a great show. The overall ambiance of this place is friendly, enjoyable and you actually can have a conversation with your table without screaming over music ++++ great food and desserts! We enjoyed the matcha creme brulee for our dessert (pictured). Everything was delicious and we all had a great time ! Will definitely be coming back :)
First time here and we will def be craving this place. Everything we ordered is was delicious... Update: i went back on 2/12/26.. The food was delicious, awesome Happy hour menu and prices but my purpose for this update is to give a shout out to our waitress Mayleen. Great service, Thank you for being so attentive.
This habachi restaurant is amazing! We arrived on Saturday around 7 pm, and although it was busy, we were seated promptly. This restaurant is located on the 2nd floor in Dadeland Mall and has plenty of free parking available. The inside of the restaurant is broken up into several different rooms, allowing for a feeling of privacy if needed. They have a vast selection of food, from habachi to sushi and more. Also, the selection of sake and drinks doesn't disappoint. Once seated, we had the best server, Javi, who was super friendly and attentive. The cook was also super nice and put on a show for us. We started with sake bombs and cocktails, which were all amazing. Followed by the delicious food, which was perfectly cooked. The restaurant has lots of cool artifacts on display, available for taking pictures. The restaurant also has a bar area in the back if you want to hang out for drinks. I'd recommend this restaurant to anyone coming on a date or with a group. Also, if you're into cigars, they also have a great selection by the bar area available for sale. This restaurant is a 10!
Place is nice inside Dadeland Mall. We had a great time with the presentation. The food is good and fresh. Good service. We celebrated our Tia’s 86th birthday. We had a wonderful time. Thank you. We will return.
Very good food at a reasonable price. The fact that you are in front of the chef watching how he majestically cook your food is the strongest points of this restaurant. Also the attention in there is very good, the waiters ask you how is the food, and they always refill your glass as soon as you drank all your drink. This isn't the cheapest place you can't eat, but the quality of the food is very worth it.
Recently had dinner at @aokigrill which is a contemporary Japanese steakhouse with hibachi meals cooked tabletop, a nice sushi menu and full bar. Pictured above are some Bao Buns or Gua bao, also known as pork belly buns, which is a popular street food in Taiwan. Visited this restaurant for the teppanyaki. Teppanyaki is a style of Japanese cuisine, and is derived from the words 'teppan' (iron plate) and 'yaki' (grilled, boiled, or pan-fried). So, it literally means 'grilling on an iron plate'. The dishes cooked using an iron plate include meat, seafood, and noodles. The food was delicious and very filling. Slide to see some of my views while watching my dinner being prepared and a look inside the restaurant. ⛩🔥 🍚 🧅 🥩 🍗 ➡️Follow me on Instagram @letstraveleatrepeat ⬅️
Aoki Teppanyaki and Izakaya has become a beloved spot for my family, and it’s easy to see why we keep returning. My son's recent birthday celebration there was just another reminder of why we love this place so much. The combination of exceptional food, top-notch service, and a warm, inviting atmosphere makes it a standout among Miami’s dining options. **Food:** The food at Aoki Teppanyaki and Izakaya is consistently outstanding, which is one of the main reasons we keep coming back. The teppanyaki experience is always a hit, especially for special occasions like birthdays. The chefs are not only highly skilled in their craft but also bring an element of fun and entertainment to the table, making it a memorable experience for everyone, especially the kids. Every dish, from the tender steak to the succulent shrimp, is cooked to perfection with that signature teppanyaki flair. The ingredients are fresh, and the flavors are well-balanced, ensuring that every bite is as delicious as the last. Beyond teppanyaki, the Izakaya menu offers a wide variety of traditional Japanese dishes, each prepared with the same level of care and attention to detail. The sushi is always fresh, and the rolls are creatively crafted, offering both classic and innovative options that never disappoint. **Service:** The service at Aoki is another reason we’re such big fans. The staff is always welcoming, attentive, and genuinely invested in ensuring that you have a great dining experience. For my son's birthday, they went above and beyond to make him feel special, which added a personal touch that we truly appreciated. The servers are knowledgeable about the menu and are always happy to make recommendations or accommodate any special requests. They work seamlessly with the chefs to ensure that everything runs smoothly, making sure that each course is timed perfectly and that no detail is overlooked. **Atmosphere:** The atmosphere at Aoki is both lively and comfortable, making it a great spot for any occasion. The teppanyaki tables create a sense of communal dining, which is perfect for gatherings and celebrations. The décor is modern yet warm, with subtle Japanese touches that add to the authenticity of the experience. Even when the restaurant is busy, it never feels overcrowded or noisy, allowing you to enjoy your meal and the company of your friends and family. **Overall Experience:** Aoki Teppanyaki and Izakaya has become a staple in our dining rotation, and for good reason. It’s the kind of place that feels like a home away from home, where you know you’ll always be treated well and leave satisfied. Whether it’s for a special occasion like a birthday or just a regular night out, Aoki consistently delivers a dining experience that is both enjoyable and memorable. I can’t recommend it highly enough for anyone looking for a great meal and a great time in Miami. This is the kind of place that turns a simple dinner into a cherished memory, and I’m already looking forward to our next visit. If you haven’t been to Aoki Teppanyaki and Izakaya yet, do yourself a favor and make a reservation. You won’t be disappointed!
Amazing service every time.I recently had the pleasure of experiencing the vibrant ambiance and delectable cuisine at Aoki in Miami. The impeccable service and warm hospitality provided by the attentive staff truly enhanced my dining experience. The menu offered a delightful array of flavors and expertly crafted dishes that left me impressed. Aoki undoubtedly stands out as a must-visit destination for anyone seeking an extraordinary culinary adventure.
The food is not the only thing that keeps you coming back! From the delicious combination of the rice, veggies, and 2 choices of protein with any sauce( it is especially good with teriyaki) and yum yum sauce which makes your mouth water even thinking about it. I also was convinced into trying the bao buns. I am not exaggerating when i say it is one of the best things i have ever put in my mouth! This experience has definitely raised my expectation to any hibachi place! Aside from the very yummy food, the service was friendly and went above and beyond to make it a very memorable and great experience. I will definitely be coming back and recommend everyone to give it a try!
6 stars, services excellent. The waiter and cook that we had this night were awesome! They did a really good job. The food was delicious, we had chicken, filet mignon, ny steak and everything was perfect. For dessert, tempura icecream, super yummy. Price, is worth it. It is not expensive, nor cheap. I consoder the price to be reasonable. We really enjoyed our dinner. Totally recommended and we will definitely come back!
I recently went to Dadeland to order a wedding gift, which ended up taking much longer than expected. Instead of wandering aimlessly around the mall, I found a great spot to grab a bite to eat—and I made the right choice. The service was excellent and welcoming, and the two Old Fashioneds I had were perfect. The waitress was funny and gave great recommendations from the menu. If you ever find yourself stuck in the mall and enjoy sushi, this is definitely the place to go
Aoki is one of my favorite places in Miami. The food is amazing and the drinks are incredible. What I love the most is the Bar and the wide selection of whiskey they have. The bartenders like Amy, Francis and Fabian are super friendly and make the best cocktails. They have my favorite Bourbon called Blanton's a very rare find. Highly recommend it.;
Omg what a gem!! Lari is outstandingly welcoming and Nana had a very good conversation with me about Japan that I will now search to go visit!! They both are a true ray of sunshine shine I so much needed today for a Sunday. You must ask about the Ginger Ale please give yourself that treat! You will come back and thank me!! Hahaha
I wanted to visit this place a long time ago and OMG. It was AMAZING, this place was over my expectations, the serve Yessica was very nice and she helped us to get the most delicious from the menu. Our chef Luis is the BEEEEEST, he’s very funny and very enjoyable. He made us laugh a loooot with all his funny ideas to describe what he was doing. The food was really espectacular, I really loved this restaurant. 100% recommended. The restaurant is pretty lovely by the way :)
Location, atmosphere and Japanese food options and amenities within location highly recommended, not 100 % pleased with what I order, doesn’t mean that I will not comeback. And it does not mean that it wasn’t good. Japanese food it’s my personal favorite, I’ve enjoyed and participate this cuisine domestic in several US cities and overseas, so my personal standards are really highly (personal opinion). Menu offers several options. Thank you for the time.
Richard, our server was excellent, in service and communication skills. He told us about the rewards program which we signed up and used. We received a free desert to die for. Told me about a special Aoki Bourbon blend which we tried and loved. Best bourbon ever.
Great food and presentation. I took the family for Mother's day and it was reasonably busy but we still received good service from the attentive staff. We sat outside to avoid the line and were immediately seated and attended. Getting the food didn't take long considering the place was almost completely packed from the holiday effect. Being seated inside ensures an up close performance by the chef as he cooks your food directly in front of you. Highly recommended.
Javier was an excellent server, has great communication skills and went above and beyond to make sure our experience was great. Robert was our cook and the best cook I have ever interacted with at any hibachi restaurant. He was comedic, carried the conversation naturally through the whole dinner and even recommended how to cook and eat our steak which was a great suggestion. Overall definitely would recommend Aoki over any hibachi restaurant out there
During our visit to Aoki Teppanyaki and Izakaya, we were thoroughly impressed by the lively atmosphere and the skillful performance of the teppanyaki chefs. The service was attentive, and the staff made sure we were comfortable throughout the meal. The food was delicious, especially the perfectly cooked steak and fresh seafood. The combination of flavors in the izakaya dishes was spot on, and the presentation was excellent. It was a memorable dining experience that we would highly recommend for anyone looking for a mix of entertainment and top-notch Japanese cuisine.
Aoki hosted my twin daughter’s 12th birthday. I got 5 restaurants similar to this and Aoki’s service in planning and just the overall experience was above anyone else. They customized our party and menu at no additional cost, the staff was great. The food was sooo good that all of our picky eater children devoured the food.
Aoki offers a fantastic dining experience, highlighted by exceptional service from Daniel. He is attentive to details, agreeable, accommodating, and incredibly friendly, making our visit memorable. The food was excellent—we had the Wagyu, scallops, and shrimp, all cooked to perfection, with deliciously prepared veggies on the side. Highly recommended!
Another banger from this place, get the coconut shrimp roll I’ve been getting it for years and I just went back after not being there for a while and it was amazing. My friend loved it and she’s planning on going back w her bf. However I got this plate that had beef and rice and it was mid and my friends shrimp noodles were mid. The started salad was actually so good and I’m not into starter salads. They have amazing food but some of it just isn’t worth eating. Stick to the roll and anything not on happy hour!
Came to dinner with my Grandparents. My Abuelo is in a wheel chair and they made adjustments to seat him comfortably. Our Chef Robert was very entertaining, fun to talk to, and made a great dinner and time for us. I highly recommend coming! We had a great time.
The place was very nice and the atmosphere was sparkling. The food was very good, the presentation was on point. Their whiskey selection was large, which included japanese whiskey. There is a patio area as well as in-resturant seating and seating out on the mall area. The servers were diligently and speedy with all the orders. Overall experience was grand a must go when in Miami Dade area.
I absolutely love this place. Great atmosphere and amazing service from the staff. Arturo was a great chef made food perfectly and had a few new tricks we haven’t seen before. Highly recommended Aoki!
The food and drinks are amazing! Even for the kiddos! Im a frequent customer and I'm never disappointed.
We had an amazing experience! Chef Leo really made my 4 year old son's first hibachi experience really special & memorable. He not only prepared a delicious dinner for us, he demonstrated amazing flair and technique. I highly recommend dining at Aoki and I definitely, recommend requesting Chef Leo. You will be guaranteed an incredible, unforgettable experience!
Wonderful service, delicious food, and a unique, almost nostalgic, appearance. We didn't feel there was a long wait time between ordering and having our meal served. We felt very welcomed coming in, and didn't feel uncomfortable during our stay. I really enjoyed the overall visual presentation of the restaurant. We'll definitely come back.
From start to finish everything about my experience at Aoki was amazing. The entrance of the restaurant is very welcoming. The staff were very attentive and courteous. My favorite part was definitely the drinks. They were all very tasty and very beautifully prepared. I decide to try different items on the menu Donburi bowls, Dumplings and sushi and not one thing disappointed the leftovers stood no chance. I would highly recommend this restaurant. It was a wonderful experience. The seating choices are plentiful whether you’re doing hibachi or sitting out on the outdoor patio. It’s a very picture of place to go. You won’t regret it.
We had a wonderful date night at Aoki, and our experience was made even better by our server, Daniel. He was attentive, friendly, and had excellent knowledge of the menu. Daniel made sure our evening was special, from the perfectly timed courses to his thoughtful recommendations. We left feeling well taken care of and look forward to our next visit!
This place should have 5 stars, what is wrong with you people!!! Seriously this was the best sushi Ive had in Miami. The spicy tuna was exquisite. Very fresh and flavorful! Luckily it wasn’t too spicy so it was perfect for me. My waitress Elizabeth was super nice, very knowledgeable about the menu and always had a big smile on her face. She also got me ice cream on my birthday and they sang happy bday to me! It was so sweet! Highly recommend this place!!! It was great :)
One of the bests Asian restaurants in Miami, the happy hour is amazing if you love sushi, nigiri and raw fish in general, the regular menu is also amazing, the sushi rolls are delicious, definitely coming back
Excellent experience at Aoki-Dadeland today! Our server was Mailyn. She was attentive, professional, friendly, and sweet. We will definitely come back to Aoki in the near future.
My husband and I loved our food! We got the tuna sashimi, coconut shrimp roll, and the steak fried rice! We loved the service, especially from Javi who was super attentive and friendly!
The food is very fresh. I love the tuna tataki salad. The sauce they add is amazing.
Love this place!! Aoki is a Japanese restaurant that serves hibachi, izakaya, sushi, and more. The atmosphere is very refined and zen, the customer service is exceptional, and the food is genuinely delicious and fairly priced. Their lunch specials are phenomenal as well. Also, big shout out to Brandon (server)— every time I’ve come in, he’s been incredibly attentive and welcoming, not only to his tables but to all customers and team members around him. He really adds to the overall great experience. Definitely recommend trying the hibachi and if you love ginger dressing this is one of the best dressings I've ever had.
I don't understand why this restaurant has a 3.9. I caught happy hour just before 8:00 p.m. They have a fabulous happy hour menu. I ordered tuna tataki, salmon rolls and their wings, everything was delicious. I sat in the back bar where it was quiet and comfortable and Rudy was amazing.
My sister and I chose this place based on a review that they were able to accomodate gluten allergies. With that said, I figured that my choices would be limited. However, when we spoke to Rudy (bartender and server) about the GF options, he assured me that he would speak to the chef and see what they could arrange. I appreciated how kind and patient he was with us. Somehow, they were able to make every happy hour item we chose gluten-free. Every item was delicious and fresh. The sushi was served with GF soy sauce! It's worth checking out if you're gluten sensitive and/or allergic. They don't have a designated fryer, so that is worth noting. My allergy isn't impacted by that (and we didn't really order deep fried items) but I know some can be. Definitely get their home-made ginger ale, it's so good!
Loved it. Great good and service. Highly recommend. They should mention that they have "Hibachi" on their website and other advertising. We had no clue until we saw the grills when we arrived. I don't know, maybe Teppa.... or Izaka... might mean Hibachi, but it doesn't mean much to us non-Japanese speakers... Anyway... we had really good food, but not the Hibachi. Maybe next time.
I visited Aoki for my aunt's birthday dinner. At first impression the restaurant looked nice and inviting, but I kept my skepticism, as anyone rightly should in the competitive upscale dining market of Miami. I ordered the steak shrimp hibachi dinner combo and a couple of sakes which came out to about $90. Everything was delicious. Standouts were the steak and veggies. The fried rice could have been a little better. The cooks are friendly, some more engaging than others. Clean bathroom and clean aesthetic all around. Overall, a great experience but no strong feelings either way. Nothing hooked me and it was fine for a birthday dinner to try out. I would consider returning and suggesting to others.
Not so good: Not a lot of chicken options, mainly a red meat restaurant. Pricey. Using coupons is complicated. Salad bar is very limited. Silverware was not very clean. Pros: They do have a baby changing table in the ladies room. Kids prices are good. Desserts are very tasty. They have a brunch special pricing on Sunday's.
Aoki Teppanyaki in Dadeland Mall is a great spot for a casual dining experience. Their happy hour menu and cocktail selection offer good variety, making it a perfect place to unwind. The beef dumplings and sushi rolls are flavorful and well-prepared, and both the teriyaki steak and steak poke were deliciously satisfying. It's an enjoyable spot with quality food and a relaxed atmosphere.
I like this place a lot. Gets packed but nothing too bad. The food is really good and has different variety. The prices aren't too bad either. I had a bottle of preseco, 3 appetizers and 2 meals. Everything was under 100. Would recommend to all. Especially here in Miami this is a better version of samurai. Without the whole waiting in line for 2 hours thing.
I recommend reservations if possible as it is hibachi it takes a bit longer. We started with the God of fire roll, this was spicy but a flavorful spicey. We all did the special, wagu steak twin lobster tails. This also came with the house salad (not a fan of ginger dressing so it was ok), veggies and fried rice. The steak and lobster were definitely worth the price it was delicious and a good amount of food. I had to take some home. The old fashioned was super smooth and way too easy to drink. The Tokyo Sour was also refreshing and delicious. Unfortunately we had no room for dessert, but don't fear I will most assuredly go back and make it to dessert next time.
I love eating here! The food is delicious, and the show is usually great. It's hit or miss with the waiters though, sometimes they're great, and sometimes they're not around. Most of the time the chef's are awesome, but I've had two different times where there wasn't really a show and it was underwhelming. Overall I do recommend the restaurant and choosing the hibachi option.
We found the food and drinks to be top notch! Unfortunately, service was very bad. Servers were slow. Never checked in to see how things were going or if we needed anything... but we could always see them huddled up and talking amongst each other instead of being attentive to their tables. I guess since they automatically add 18% gratuity to the bill, they think they don't need to work for it.
It was my first visit and I thought the place looked reminiscant of my recent trip to Japan. The menu had lots of options and various options for seating. We decided to sit at the sushi counter as it was still early in the day and it was a quiet area. I ordered the sushi plate and shrimp tempura which were both delicious. Our only issue were the small flies around the sushi prep area.
Aoki is definitely my favorite restaurant for many reasons. The food is amazing, your food is made right in front of your eyes (which is very entertaining to watch it being made) and the experience is always fun and consistent. The one thing I don't like about Aoki (this includes benihana & samurai since they're the same thing) is the wait for your chef to arrive at your table. It usually takes about 30-60 minutes and then another 20 minutes for your food to be made. Other than that, it is an amazing restaurant.
The cook was great but the server was not attentive. Had to ask for water/soda multiple times. They also have a great salad that is not listed on the menu.
The food came out quickly and was tasty. We enjoyed our gyozas, spicy tuna rolls and bowls. Our waitress was kind and attentive. I haven't tried the hibachi so i can't speak to that but the restaurant was full and flipping tables consistently. Overall a decent place for a meal during a shopping day.
The food isn't bad at all, but the drinks leave something to be desired; they definitely need to improve their Negroni. I've been there twice and ordered several drinks, which are expensive for the quality they offer.
I enjoyed Aoki Teppanyaki. It's not the best restaurant I've been to, but it's not the worst either. They had a great selection of Happy Hour drinks and Happy Hour sushi rolls. (See pictures below) The service was good and the restaurant look was cute. It was definitely a solid spot, but didn't stand out to me in anyway. Positively or negatively.
Located within the Dadeland Mall, this Japanese restaurant offers standard Japanese fair at a slightly higher price. Sushi or meals can be ordered at the table or a hibachi grill. The sushi is reasonable size but I recommend sharing with someone so you can order different kinds and have some of each. The dinners (not hibachi) "from the kitchen" are smaller and come with white rice and a small order of veggies. The teriyaki salmon was flavorful, but the white rice was just standard. The spare ribs are a fair portion and pretty good. The wings are on the hotter side so unless you like "hot", be prepared. The berry lemonade is too sweet and slightly sour. Service is slow and they are quick to drop off and move. Overall if you are looking for slightly smaller portions than a hibachi restaurant, the food is pretty good and worth a second try.
Me and my wife went to this restaurant looking to try something different. The place didn’t disappoint! However I gave a 3 star review due to the service. They were a little bit disorganized. We waited more that 20 to gets all the beverage of the table to served, we were only 8 people, and the chef took almost 40 minutes to get to our table. Now, here is where everything came back on track again, Pierre was an excellent chef, made us all laugh, he is excellent with children and the food was magnificent. The sizes are huge! We took home the leftover and next day, the food was even better! If you give are not demanding with the food quality/ service ratio, you will like this place. I recommend the Scallops entree!
I went to celebrate my birthday and an other family members. Food very delicious. Service very poor. They gave ice cream to the birthday boy but not me. I recommend Bennehanna. Superior restaurant. I will not comeback.
Went for Hibachi ( Teppanyaki) and had a large party. The food was a bit bland and the our server was not the most attentive. However the front of house was very helpful I called days prior to coordinate the dinner party and was pleased.
Wait for service/food took forever. Broken baby chair that was sticky that we had to get for ourselves. Drinks were good. Poor quality service.
It's my second time there, my friend swears by the place, but we had to wait abit before a chef actually came to cook, and we were served drinks once while constantly trying to get the waitresses attention. She did come eventually, at the end of the meal. I'm not sure about my friend, but the portions were small. I had the steak and shrimp, and it was just three shrimps and the stank was chopped up obviously, but looking at the pictures of others steak shrimp and rice mine was noticeably smaller. My rice was barely to the rim. It was good, and I hadn't eaten all day while doing heavy exercise so I was just happy to get something in my belly. I would probably go back with my friend if she wanted, but I'd prefer a benihana or saito's on my own. The food is actually worth the price and the show is good.
I like to go to Aoki for the chirashi donburi which is super good. This time I wanted to treat me the omakase menu … I wish I didn’t. I had to wait over 20’ to receive an overgrown handroll, then 40’ later a mini poke, 2 tiny sashimis 5’ afterwards, then 2 tiny rolls 6’ later and it took 90 minutes for the girl to make them …they offered me a dessert to compensate for the wait, nice gesture. The waiter did the max but the sushi person (not a chef) was overloaded and we were only 3 clients around the bar. I will comeback for the donburi BUT not for the omakase which has nothing to do with an omakase menu, very expensive for the little food received. Very disappointed and I feel robbed.
Food was good. Our chef, Javie was 5 star. The wait for our food was incredibly long. Why I am giving a 2 star review? The bathrooms were disgusting. When I pay close to 100 for a meal, including drinks, I expect a clean bathroom. The bathrooms have not had a proper cleaning in a long time. Absolutely disgusting!! The baby changing table…no words.
We paid a visit to Oiko this past weekend as we saw it the weekend prior when visiting another restaurant close by. We arrived a little before 7 PM. We sat right away, looked at the menu and started with some appetizers. The gentleman that came to our table was indeed very nice, I have to say. When he brought the appetizers we placed the order for the main course. Time passed and neither the gentleman or the the main meal showed up. We had to ask what the update was on our food. Someone else brought the food out to us and at that, we had to ask for more water, and utensils which were never put on the table along with some extra napkins. It was me and my spouse and our table looked as if more people had eaten because not a single plate was retrieved from the table. I am giving 2 stars because the food was good. The service, I was not happy with at all.
I won’t give it a 1 star because the food is good but the hostess, Elise, really made it an unpleasant first impression. She asked if we wanted a regular table or hibachi but I’m hard of hearing so I asked her to repeat herself question and she rolled her eyes, said something to her coworker, turned back to me and repeated. I said regular table. She turns back to her coworker and whispers something else, then asks me bar or table; I say table. She takes us over, doesn’t even say anything else just points to two tables (I guess to pick?) then walks away. We waited about 10 minutes in this empty restaurant for the waiter to finally come up to us. Food is good. Otherwise, not a friendly atmosphere.
One of the Worst Dining Experiences I’ve Ever Had – Completely Unacceptable If I could give zero stars, I would. I came to this teppanyaki restaurant expecting an enjoyable evening — instead, I left frustrated, disappointed, and honestly shocked by the level of disregard shown by the staff. We waited 1 hour and 20 minutes at the table before any chef even came to cook for us. Not one staff member approached our table to offer an explanation, an update, or even a simple apology. We were completely ignored as if our time and presence meant absolutely nothing. This wasn’t a busy night. There was no visible chaos. Just pure lack of organization, communication, and basic customer service. How can a restaurant operate this way and still expect returning customers? What’s worse is that not a single person — manager or otherwise — tried to make it right. No apology, no gesture, nothing. Just silence and indifference. Restaurants like this rely on experience, not just food, and this was a complete failure on all fronts. I sincerely hope management reads this and takes action, because this was beyond unacceptable. Do better. Much, much better.
Hostess was unfriendly, refused to let my wife, 2yr son, and me to sit down at a table because one other person in our party was not present and in a store checking out, even tho the restaurant was completely empty at 11:30am. Waitress was in a rush for some reason got only half our order before we had to flag her down to get the rest of our order, forgot to bring drink, I guess that what’s happens when they don’t need to work for their tip since they add 18% tip to your bill anyways. Do not recommend.
Wow. I have never had a worse experience. The waiter was extremely inattentive. We had to ask for refills, then when he never came back, had to ask him again for refills. Had to literally get up and walk around the restaurant to find someone to get us our check. Found our server, he goes back behind the bar and never comes back. I get up to go searching for him again and he’s texting and not working. Go up to him and he says “how can I help you” UMMMM our check!!!! My drink was trash and the food was adequate at best. It was $70 for 2 people to eat. So disappointed.
Terrible pick-up experience!!! I ordered two chicken Katsu Donburi with soup and salad. There was only chicken and rice; no soup, salad, vegetables, or soft egg. I did not receive half of my order!! DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!
Terrible experience! From the moment we arrived and dealt with the "host" who seemed like he didn't want to be there, things only got worse. The restaurant is beautiful, and I was hoping for a great time. Our server had a hard time not only speaking English (she was Latin ... so am I so relax) but she didn't fully understand English either. She had a really difficult time taking our drink orders, even though the restaurant has a full bar. My son ordered a mixed drink (after she came back and told us they didn't have the drink we ordered first), and she brought him a glass of pineapple juice and a separate shot of tequila ... he had to mix his own drink. Once we got our drinks 20 minutes later, we never saw her again until she brought the bill. We ran out of water and other drinks and she was nowhere to be found. The chef was a nice guy. By his own admission, he liked to cook in silence. Part of the allure of these types of restaurants is the "show" the chef puts on while he cooks. Our chef wasn't into it. A couple of tables over there was a chef screaming "Hialeah!", and squeezing a rubber chicken, so I don't know what's going on at this place. Overall, terrible service, good food, way too expensive for what you get!!! Do not recommend, and I will not be returning!👎
My waitress came 2 times around and never saw her again. Also we asked for a split bill and it was not calculated correctly . The manager was hearing what was going on and did not come over or the table because we were speaking Spanish to the waitresses which is a sign of racism !!! I will not for back to this restaurant again.
We had a negative experience with our cook. He had a bad attitude, perhaps a bad day. The experience lasted a whole 10 minutes. He cooked fast, the zucchini was hard and undercooked, he cooked the steak wrong (we asked for well done 3 times) - which is ok, but when I asked if he could cook it longer, he actually got upset. It was uncomfortable. There was no show. No onion volcano, no shrimp trick, nothing. Which is a shame because we brought our toddler for the first time for the show. We came as a celebration for my mom's cancer remission, and it was everything but a celebration. We asked for the manager 4 times. I asked several people, and he never came. I am a reasonable person, but the fact that the manager never came really says a lot about the restaurant and their management. I will NOT be coming back. And I will not recommend it to anyone. Because we are celebrating my moms remission, I asked for the check, not for the dessert we had hoped for. Over all a terrible experience.
Tonight was my first time going and definitely the last. First a lady working with the hostess said she was going to get us a table and never came back. We waited a loooong time and finally I got tired and asked someone else to help us get a table and he did after a little while. It was a table for 2 and the restaurant wasn’t even full. All this time and the hostess is seating playing with her phone looking like she hated everything and everyone. Then the waitress was completely clueless about everything. She couldn’t answer any questions about the menu or the drinks and didn’t even try to find out. Pretty much all she would say was I don’t know. It was shocking. You would think the staff would be familiar or at least have an idea of the food served. 0 knowledge and what’s worse 0 effort. And to top it all off the restaurant automatically includes an 18% gratuity on the bill. The food was also mediocre. Never coming back and definitely do not recommend this place.
I eat there all the time but today was a disaster. The cook was oblivious about what to do. He served one side of the table and ignore the other side (us). When we asked why we did not get our food he said he did not get the order from the server. We ate last and the damage control was mediocre. The manager who was there today never showed up to apologize. The cook blamed the server. No one took accountability and they showed up with a manager’s discount on the bill. I recommend they train their staff, most importantly versify the order at the begining so that everyone on the table feels included.
The service was completely terrible. Our waitress put in the wrong order. She did not apologize or not even letting us know when the new food order will be out. Another waitress took over the table and it seems like she had an attitude as well. Not once did she check on my table throughout the night. I actually had go get up a few times to ask for things. We also order dessert, which I thought should have been compensated for the long wait and the lack of customer service. It’s unfortunate cause I would have been a returning customer if the service was decent.
The service was awful, our server Maria Fernanda was rude and careless.
Very sad experience tonight for my daughter’s 15th birthday. The Chef greeted us at our table after quite a long wait. He unfortunately didn’t have much of a personality and barely interacted with us. After dinner was served and the Chef excused himself, the server did not appear until I had to go find her. She came back to partially clean the table and I asked her for desert. She left the table dirty and eventually came back with desert for my daughter, which consisted of a tempura brownie and ice cream that was still sealed in a plastic wrap. I made the waitress aware who quickly removed it. At this point I just asked for the check to so we could leave after spending two hours there. Terrible service and unfortunately a terrible birthday experience for my daughter. With all the restaurants closing in Dadeland, I am very surprised they let service lapse this way.
Our waitress was very nice, then she disappeared! The "waiter" assigned said she was on a break. The fish was frozen at least TWO TIMES. AT LEAST. I left half of it on the plate. They gave me a 20% discount, so it was $ 44.00 instead of $ 55.00 FOR UNFRESH FOOD. STILL OVER $ 210.OO for CRAPPY FOOD AND TERRIBLE SERVICE. NOT EVER GOING BACK THERE. SO MR OWNER SAVE YOUR BS FOR SOMEBODY ELSE. Btw, this was my third time here, the two before were great. ALSO, THE BLACK LATEX GLOVES THE SERVICE PEOPLE WEAR, REMIND ME OG GARBAGE COLLECTORS, NOT FOOD HANDLING PEOPLE. BESIDES, THEY ARE CONTAMINATING INSTRUMENTS.
I ordered the wagyu sliders and they came burnt!!! They look like the sliders from highschool. Completely disrespectful. And the sushi was terrible quality. And please don’t even think about getting the wings. So beyond disappointed. Too overpriced for the quality of the food here.
This used to be my favorite place to eat and my most recent visit will definitely be my last unfortunately. The hostess wearing the name tag Carla was incredibly unfriendly, never once smiling nor bothering to look at me. I was not given a choice of where I wanted to be seated, which is not an issue, just abnormal to all my previous lunch time visits. Past asking me “how many” she never said a word to me including when she sat me and I said thank you, I was met with more silence. The server was ok but also not overly friendly nor attentive. Our cups of water were dirty and had grime floating in the bottoms of both glasses and the sushi rolls in the bento box were made of under cooked rice making the rolls crunchy and extremely unpleasant. Perhaps good service is no longer a priority here as there is an automatic 18% gratuity included in the bill.
No recomendable.
