This was probably the best burger I have ever had. I got the manly lunch special which was $15. The sweet potato fries are amazing. They are perfectly cooked and they are some brown sugar to them... sooo good!!. Can’t wait to have it again in SF. I highly recommend this place. 2 lunch specials was like $33.xx after tax.

The impossible burger was the second best vegetarian burger I've ever had - in the world, and I wish I'd gotten it vegan (without the cheese) because it didn't even need it flavor wise. I could tell it wasn't meat, but only barely. The onion rings are crispy and tasty, but a little oilier than they technically needed to be for a tempura batter. No stars off for that though. Service was fast, friendly and professional. If you like a certain sauce from the trio they bring out, just ask for more of it - they were very accommodating.

I'm normally not a big smash burger fan, but these were fantastic. They were juicy, well seasoned, and a great deal. I had the New Boss Box at the server's recommendation. Flavor combos were not my usual choices for a burger but a pleasant surprise. The fries were good, but a bit heavy on the heat for my tastes. Sauced were a good complement. Both of my drinks packed a punch, but that was only noticed after enjoying the great mix of flavors. Definitely would try more of their menu next time I'm in town.

Come for happy hour! I just ordered the burgers on happy hour and fries. It’s an easy spot for a group to walk in, quality food. Not big portions but matches the price.

First off, we had a friend who has a severe nut allergy. We notified our waiter at the beginning, and they accommodated, which was awesome! Second, we ordered the fry platter, which is on the online menu but not on the physical menu, and that was probably the best value for our party of five (came out to $5 from each of us), being able to sample all the flavors (best one was the chili cheese). If you like truffle oil, you'll like the truffle fries and truffle ketchup (personally, not a fan). Third, I had Sam's Crispy Chicken Sandwich. It was ok. Probably should've ordered the Nashville for a little bit more of a kick, but it filled the belly. My friends had the sunrise burgers and they also said they were ok (nothing mind blowing). Overall, the fry platter was the best and would go again just for some chili cheese and pastrami fries. If I was gonna order a burger, I would go to In-N-Out. The service, though, was awesome, being checked on regularly!

First time trying Umami burger. I’ve always seen it when exploring the Santa Monica area and decided to give it a shot. Incredible burger. The cheesy potato tots were amazing. Really couldn’t have been happier with the taste. If you check this place out you should definitely try the truffle burger. (4/5 because the sweet potato fries didn’t stand up with the rest of the food.)

I have been reading some of the recent reviews for Umami and I must say that I am shocked! I started ordering takeout from Umami during Covid and I have never been disappointed. I love the aesthetic of their take out boxes. Everything has arrived to me on time and in great condition. I order the Original Impossible Burger every time and it is possibly my favorite veggie burger! It comes with 2 Impossible Patties, miso-mustard, vegan cheese, pickles, lettuce, tomatoes, and classic sauce. It pairs great with their thin fries or truffle fries! They also have delicious sauces that you can order for fun things to dip your fries in. I will say, we ordered the cheesy potato tots the last time and they were HORRIBLE. Do not waste your money on these. I thought it would be like a cheese filled tator tot (similar to a mozzarella stick or something), but it was like a mixture of potato and cheese that was fried. They were cold and I couldn't eat more than one they were that bad. Don't waste the $7.50 on this side. The thin fries or truffle fries are MUCH better. I am saddened by the horrible reviews in the last few months. I hope that Umami can figure things out and continue providing the delicious burgers that I love!

The umami is special cuz it has crispy Parmesan and mushroom!! It’s the flavour you won’t get to try in other store!! My friend like it but I think it’s a bit greasy after finishing the entire burger. Love their buffalo yuzu lemon yogurt sauce on the cauliflower sauce! Very unique 😋

A good option for a modern take on burgers. Service was fast and friendly, and was accommodating. We ordered a variety of menu options, all came out quickly with fresh ingredients. Fries were a bit of a let down and came out luke warm and a bit chewy.

Very trendy, conveniently located in a beautiful Santa Monica area, with lots of outside dining space. The burger creations and ingredients are innovative, tasty and fresh - as is their beer selection. That being said, it is very pricey. Not only for that area, but in general - you can get better, quicker and cheaper burgers at many other places around here. They may not look as fancy, but they will satisfy the craving for a good, tasty burger just as much. If you have the money to spend, the time to wait and the craving for something more sophisticated, Umami Burger may be right for you.
