Great atmosphere, super fast service. Prices are awesome. Waitresses are always attentive. Food is delish. Arrive early to find parking. There is a wait line during lunch and dinner but you'll be seated pretty quickly.
The best gorditas I have ever had! 10/10 would highly recommend. The staff is super nice and friendly too.
I love this place, the food is delicious, the service is super good, it's a shame that our favorite girl Joha can't serve us anymore because she's now a cashier. It's good that they chose longer hours.
best flautas in town sopes and gorditas I know is a Torreon style but please add a guacamole sauce on your menu as a side order for all my people from Monterrey Mexico who like antojitos with guacamole sauce too thanks
By far the best gorditas I’ve ever had!! I got to try the mole, picadillo, bean and cheese, and chicharrón prensado. Service is really quick too didn’t have to wait long for my food. Will definitely recommend this place to friends.
I went for the first time Saturday for lunch. It reminded me of home and the restaurants in Monterrey where I frequented. I orded 2 flautas and 2 gorditas de chicharron prensado and I started with the beef flautas that were enormous and I had to take home the gorditas for dinner ( Woe is me!). I will definitely return.
This was my 1st time here and definitely different. Had some gorditas that were just delicious and savory. I was able to enjoy coffee made in an actual clay pot "cafe de hoya" and was spiced with a hint of cinnamon. This hit the spot on a cold day. Waiters were very consistent and this place was busy. Overall great experience.
First time coming here. the gorditas were sooo good! Definitely will be back next time I'm in town.
I recently visited GMT#2 to pick up food and they welcomed me and offered a table right away, I appreciate when people show up to work with a great attitude:) however my order was to go, and I was impressed with how they packed the flautas!!! Wow! My 30 min. drive was totally worth it, the food was delicious! I highly recommend this place !
So much fun and so delicious. The best Gorditas I’ve had either side of the border. It is always packed, really packed with people waiting for tables.
Delicious food. I got Sopes and my wife got Gorditas. Both were really good.
The best gorditas in San Antonio. I couldn’t believe how much they tasted to the gorditas I’ve had in mexico 🇲🇽… if your looking for good authentic Mexican gorditas, this is the place!! This is not a Tex mex restaurant which is exactly what I try to avoid when in Tx.
Ok ok I've never tried gorditas de harina, ummm so tasty.
This place is great. I was raised in Torreón for most of my life so I know what Gorditas mean to people from Torreón. If you’re looking for gorditas that closely resemble those from Torreón, this is the place to go.
The best gorditas in town, even better than the original gorditas in Torreon Mexico!
Excellent service! The restaurant is clean and cute and the food is served hot and delicious! I had the Gordita with Rojas and queso and a sope with Tinga all the way. I could not finish it all. So good 😋
Perla gave us very good customer service and was attentive.
Delicious! Best Mole Sope ever! Tastes homemade. Gordita a la plancha was really good too. The meats are so tender and flavorful. No wonder why this place was packed. Thought it might take a while because it was so busy but we got our food super quick. Can’t wait to go back.
Love this place. Usually super busy at lunch but we'll worth it. Flavors are so good. Glad we found this place amd frequent it often
Wow amazing not even my moms Gorditas taste this great! Definitely come if you haven’t tried it. I had it for the first time a couple weeks ago. Once I tried it I was hooked , came twice in a week I believe.
The absolute best gorditas in San Antonio. Chicharon prensado is amazing, picadillo is fantastic. Honestly there isn't a bad filling. Service is fast and very friendly. Cafe de olla is always hot and fresh.
The food was delicious. The chicharrón prensado and bean/cheese were good on the flour gorditas. Street parking available but watch signs on the side streets. People come and go fast. Pace yourself because the gorditas are big.
First time there and it was awesome! Huge selection of gorgitas to choose from. Very friendly staff. Definitely going back.
Great service great atmosphere, great great food. But they charge you for take home boxes, they charge you for the cups, they charge you for the sour cream, they charge you for basically everything you ask for. The coffee I believe is unlimited so you can get free refills. Very good! But the upcharge on items you get free in other places like a take out box, is wild. Your bill will definitely be adding up. So ask how much it is for each thing you need more of because they don't tell you beforehand and you'll be finding out after you get your check. Over all everyone enjoyed their food and no one complained. I personally loved the food.
We did take out here last weekend after seeing Gorditas Mi Torreón on a segment of Texas Eats Tv show. We ordered several types of the Gorditas to include the Tinga Maiz (Shredded Chicken and Shredded Beef), Asada Maiz and Deshebrada Maiz. All of the food was well seasoned and very tasty. We will definitely return again and would certainly recommend this place. Looking forward to trying more Gorditas and the Flautas next time we come here.
Tell me why this place has a 1 page menu but a 5 star food variety. ! The best Gorditas hands down. But..... can I say 1 thing. The Gorditas have no toppings so you gotta really like the item you choose. For example, the chicken tinga is awesome but maybe just a tad bit of lettuce or sourceam would have given it that extra flare. I give this place an A+++ just ask for stuff to be put on your gorditas. Even if they charge you, I think it'll be worth it. Make your own menu. Oh and 1 more suggestion, please have iced tea during lunch. Cmon no ice tea at lunch. Lol that's my only complaint
Love their chicharon gorditas with cheese.... yep
This place is a GEM 💎 Food is delicious, hard to find good gorditas, the menu is really simple and easy to choose, service is ok, but my complaint is the people who sing and do karaoke, I was not able to hear the conversation I was having with my family, if this place is already loud, adding people singing is not the best thing to have, I rather to hear a clown making jokes or somebody doing stand up comedy.
The best gorditas in town! Ever since I moved from California I’ve been hunting local spots for Mexican food and this spot hits that soft spot. The harina gorditas taste always so fresh and never disappoint. Our favorite go to fillings are tinga, chicharrón prensado, choriqueso, requesón (cottage cheese), and papas verdes with potatoes. Overall 10/10, especially the customer service !
Definitely recommend this restaurant for gorditas the best Like grandma used to make them on the grill and not fried The staff is friendly. The restaurant is very busy, but it's worth it
Lemonade 100% Gorditas 100% Flautas 100% Service is always good, you have to wait for perfection though, handmade is handmade after all. There is a reason this place is packed every Saturday morning. If youre vegetarian and GF, get the Rajas con Queso en maiz, son SABROSISIMOS. Cross contamination possible.
On the recommendation of an orderly @ University Hospital, we came to the South Flores location. Our party of 3 each had 2 Gorditas. We tried the tinga, deshebrada & picadillo Gorditas de maíz al carbón. So delicious & generously filled! The cafe de olla is the best I’ve ever had! Our server was Cynthia. She was patient with our questions and so very sweet! Cynthia was very attentive & kept checking on us. This location has an awesome “hole in the wall” vibe! It is small & cozy, but service is fast. Parking is very tight but there was an attendant to help. Being from the 956, this reminds me of home! Come hungry! You will love it!!
Really upset. I ordered 4 gorditas to go, off the online ordering, I put a check in all 4 boxes for Al Carbon. Drove 200 miles home, so excited to get home and eat the charcoal grilled poblano n queso gorditas and all 4 are plancha! Not wat I ordered, there still good if course. But I specifically ordered charcoal grilled, they are so much better. Now Im 200 miles away and just discovered they gave me wrong items. So.....if you order to go, make sure you check wat they give you before you leave. It sucks getting 200 miles away, and finding out you got given wat you did not order.
Very friendly upon entering. Menus are on the table. We went with a Mexican Coke to have with our Gorditas. We ordered a variety of fillings; potatoes and green sauce, chicken chipotle, and bean and cheese (for the kids). A few others as well. We tasted each others. Next time, I will go with my Gordita on the grill. I mean I loved the corn and flour how they were too. The crunch added to it when on the grill. It was full of flavor each one, and glad we stopped in. Highly recommend this place! Fairly cheap for the amount you get.
I stopped in for breakfast and tried the picadillo sope and the carne con chile puerco gordita. Everything is made fresh to order, and you can taste it; the masa, the fillings, and even the salsas feel truly homemade. The sope came out perfectly crisp with plenty of toppings, and the gordita was hearty, well-filled, and held together beautifully. The pork in chile was packed with flavor and reminded me of being back in Mexico. Portions are generous, and the table salsas are fresh, balanced, and worth trying on everything. I also really appreciated the service; the waitress and I swapped our limited English and Spanish to make the order work, and it turned into a sweet, friendly moment. My only regret is ordering a regular coffee out of habit instead of their café de olla. I’ll know better next time. If you’re looking for a real, authentic Mexican breakfast, this spot is definitely worth it.
Came here on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. It was busy and most tables full, but was immediately seated and greeted. Very simple menu of primarily Gorditas, Sopes, and Flautas with the same meats for any of them. An order is only 1, so you can mix and match however you want. Ordered 3, but 2 was probably plenty. Service was extremely fast and friendly. Food arrived within 10 minutes of ordering and tasted great. Will come back again for my next mix and match of dishes and flavors.

The name says it all ... "Gorditas Mi Torreon" !!! The Gorditas are excellent, with many options; chicharron, mole, picadillo, choriqueso, requeson, and marequesting, One dish I saw in many tables was... Flautas, served with plenty of good looking things. I didn't try it, but it looks good and people often request it. There are Sopes, also looking tasty. But I concentrated on the Gorditas. I recommend Gorditas Mi Torreon. They have good waitresses, with prompt attention and service. There are also many who order Food To Go. I plan to go back many times ! Enjoy !!!
Wow, what a delicious spot for gorditas. We were down the street for the 4th weekend and knew we had to check this place out due to it looking busy every time we passed by! Our order was to go so quickly made our way to the register to order. It was busy and full of people but never felt chaotic. We ordered 20 gorditas de picadillo, carne con chile, nopal y queso, and 2 soles de chorizo. The gorditas were great! Fantastic flavors and stuffed to the max. They were overflowing with meat, hot, and the masa was in point. My two sopes were the beesssttt! Sope shell was fried to perfection, the crunch was excellent, the toppings were phenomenal and their salsas were absolutely delicious! 10000% will be back when in San Antonio.
The cirn gorditas n fillings were outstanding! Very delicious, flavorful. Piping hot! I had 3 and husband had 4. Check out the menu, very simple, not much entrees to chose from. Parking has the potential to be difficult, few parking spaces. Prices reasonable considering the amount of filling in the gorditas. Next time, I will try the sopes and at least 1 flour gordita with a new filling.
Great service, amazing food. Very mexican delicious food. Once there start with an agua Fresca. Lime, Horchata, Hibiscus (Jamaica). Then start with some deshebrada flautas ( expert tip) ask for some crema and queso fresco for your flautas. It will take them to a whole different level. Pour so.e spicy red salsa on top and you will be in Food heaven. If your stomach allows get a char broiled corn gordita any flavor you fancy and enjoy. The service is great, the food is amazing. Parking is a challenge. It so good we will have to go twice a week.
These regional gorditas from Torreon are pretty delicious . I had the Tinga gorditas. The Cafe de olla was very good. I never had it before. Basically it's coffee with cinnamon , star anise and sugar. This is a new restaurant in the area , and they are a little slower in getting the food out. They also prefer cash , but they do have a debit/credit card machine. The menu is somewhat limited to gorditas , sopes and flautas. They don't serve any other food here besides that ,and the menu is strictly in Spanish. I'm not sure if anyone on staff spoke English..The parking is a tight squeeze . Nonetheless, the food was excellent.
Pretty good gorditas. The coffee is really good, fresh, flavored with piloncillo and cinnamon, served in a clay jarrito. The carne and chile gorditas are tremendous. Si pican lol. The waitress was very helpful, and she suggested we order right away as they were in a rush and she helped us get out food quickly.
These gorditas are a great filling size for the price. They have many options for the whole family and now they have a flautas plate They have sodas and gas frescas and Mexican coke, you can also order sopes instead of gorditas. Sopes means the food is set on top of the gorditas instead of inside. The only downfall is the size of the parking lot, it's a hot mess! But we had a great server for our table of 6+.
Saw this place on Instagram and the food looked good so we decided to check it out. Be advised that you will be ignored when you walk in the front door unless you “sign in” with the server who’s “keeping track” of the waitlist. This person will not approach you. As far as the food is concerned, it was ok. The food came out quickly and was pretty tasty, but it wasn’t worth all the fuss of having to deal with the place being overcrowded with no seating system. If it came down to this place or something comparable, I’d go with the alternative. The gorditas are big and they are filled almost to the brim with whatever you order. We got choriqueso, poblano con queso, huevo con salsa verde, picadillo, and chicharrón. They were all good. The meat was well seasoned and tender. However, it was nothing like I was expecting considering the wait and the really bad parking situation outside.
They are solid gorditas. so big that I ordered 3 but only needed 2. the puerca en chili was great
I LOVE their Cafe de Olla but recently they have made a change I'm not happy with. They have changed the to go cups they use. I would get a 32 oz coffee in a foam cup but now the largest foam cup available is like a 16 oz. The larger size is plastic and melts with the heat of the coffee. Yes I can buy two 16 oz cups but walking around with a cup in each had just isn't doable. It is so much easier to carry coffee in one hand.
A friend who really likes this place brought me here. First visit, and I enjoyed it. I don't know a lot about gorditas and sopes, but I thought mine were quite good, both on maiz tostada. The sope de mole was great. Gordita de chicharron prensado was fine, but I would try a different one next time. Liked both sauces they had at the table. Service was very good, but it wasn't very busy when we were there. I plan on coming back and trying various things. Flautas look tempting.
Food: The gorditas “al carbon” are made authentic and fresh. They have a smoked flavor, if you don’t like the smoked flavor you can do “a la plancha”. The poblano and cheese gordita was amazing. The flautas are a must try, the flautas took me back to Mexico with their flavor and fresh crunch (I prefer them without the pork skin topping). Service: Amazing fast service overall, servers are very attentive in a very busy atmosphere. Atmosphere: It is a little tight for families greater than 4. There will be a long wait especially on a weekend. Casual atmosphere and welcoming.
Great place for your breakfast or just a quick bite. I didn't have a great service, but my tacos were delicious.
**Gorditas Mi Torreon: Exceptional Flautas with Room for Improvement** Gorditas Mi Torreon is a popular Mexican restaurant known for its delectable flautas. Upon visiting the establishment, I was immediately impressed by the aroma of freshly cooked tortillas and the inviting atmosphere. **Phenomenal Flautas** The flautas, the restaurant's signature dish, lived up to their reputation. The crispy corn tortillas were filled with tender and flavorful meat, perfectly seasoned and bursting with flavor. Each bite was a symphony of textures, with the crunchy exterior giving way to the soft and savory filling. **Good, Not Great Staff** While the flautas were exceptional, the service left room for improvement. The staff, although friendly, seemed somewhat disorganized and overwhelmed at times. Orders took a bit longer than expected to arrive, and there were a few mix-ups with the bill. **Other Menu Items** In addition to the flautas, I also tried the gorditas, which were equally delicious. The handmade tortillas were filled with a variety of fillings, including barbacoa, carnitas, and rajas con crema. Each gordita was a generous portion, loaded with flavor and satisfyingly filling. **Ambiance and Location** The restaurant has a casual and inviting ambiance, with vibrant colors and traditional Mexican decor. It's located in a convenient area, making it easy to access. **Conclusion** Overall, Gorditas Mi Torreon is a great choice for anyone craving authentic Mexican cuisine, particularly their phenomenal flautas. While the service could use some improvement, the exceptional food more than makes up for it. If you're looking for a satisfying and flavorful dining experience, I highly recommend giving Gorditas Mi Torreon a try.
Everything was great EXCEPT… they were going to charge me extra for more lemon 🫢 and as you can see in the ticket they automatically charge you extra for a to go cup. But this is the cup they serve the drink in 🤷🏼♀️ I mean I didn’t ask for a to go cup. They automatically serve you in a to go cup, and they also charge you for it. 🤔
Food is good but the cashier have a long hair and moving around the food line so it makes me feel like some hair going to the food she needs to get a hair clip 🤔 like the server's. La cajera deve recoger su pelo pues camina por la linea de comida y su pelo es muy largo deve poner atencion en su persona.
I heard many good things about this place that the food is delicious. My husband and I went to try it. It was a little disappointing that they didn't have anything with refills on the drinks. The gorditas are good but not spectacular, like my mom said. They only have the meat inside, no beans, no cheese, no lettuce, just plain meat. The sopes were better, the picadillo one was really good. The chicharron was ok on the gordita. It was not crunchy. The deshebrada had good flavor but very dry. The puerco in green salsa tasted like flowers, not my style. If there is a next time, I would go for the sopes. The music was cutting off, and it was kind of loud, not good to have conversations.
These gorditas were really good. They have a wide array of guisados to choose from. I chose Rajas con queso, green chili with cheese and nopales con Chile Colorado same as cactus with red Chile. I chose one made from corn and the other flour. I can honestly tell you both kinds were delicious, now it's up to you to choose your meat or guisado and corn or flour. They also have very tasty flautas with sour cream, cheese and guacamole. Drinks are plentiful. Service was great, and prices are very competitive to other restaurants like these. Gorditas were around $5 each while flautas are $10 to $15 depending on size. Try Gorditas Mo Torreon and judge for yourself.
If you are looking for a little taste of authentic Mexican food... stop looking! Because Gorditas Mi Torreón in San Antonio is the perfect place to eat food that will make you feel like you are I. Mexico! They make Gorditas Torreón style by hand, and they have so many different fillings to choose from, mole, carne guisada, chicharrón, and more! Their staff is attentive and love that they will help you choosing your food if you have never been there. You must try this place if you are craving authentic Mexican food! Thank me later!
The nopales with carne de puerco were salty, the service was good. I liked the thin gordita but the Chicken was dry and not stuffed... for the price the value could be better.
I got the flautas which were made well and very big but they topped them with a mountain of onions and some sauce that made them soggy. No sides
Come here regularly and this time I was so disappointed. I order the chicharron prensado and got large, large chunks of cueritos(like the ones that come in a jar)mixed in 🤮 ended up giving the gordita to my spouse who did eat it but took the Cueritos out. I’ll Probably give them a try again but order something else.
I used to come here pretty often. Now I don't bc It takes longer for me to pay than to eat. You guys need to add a 2nd cashier bc ppl want to go in and out. We don't want to stand next to ppl who are eating just for us to pay. Do you know how uncomfortable that is? Fix that issue and I'll be returning. Stop toasting the gorditas!!! They are supposed to be nice and smooth. Not like a tostada.
I got the carne with chile Gordita. I think one of them was raw and it was chewy and I got really sick. They didn’t mention the aguas frescas didn’t have refills. It was $4. Our waitress came often to refill families coffee but she had a bad vibe or as if it was a burden to her. I would come again but would just order the picadillo one.
The mole is too sweet and has a bad taste, i couldn't finish it. The asados gave me diarrhea, and the jamaican was really sour.
The pictures looks great but when you actually get there, you realize their menu is very limited. The chicken flautas I give 1 star, no flavor, the sauce on top is the only thing that gave flavor, and for vegetarians you only get two options bean and cheese or potatoes and rojo salsa, that's it. The beef gorditas were good I was told from my husband, the only thing worth getting there is the lemonade(sadly their drinks are also limited) it's fresh squeezed. I will not ever be going back. One and done.
1st time trying. Saw them on Facebook/ tik tok. Corn on gorditas was hard. Not soft. Bean& cheese was good except for hard tortilla. Chicharron was chewy, more like pork meat not Chicharron, maybe they ran out. Asada was also hard & chewy. Unfortunately, won't be going back. They were very fast. Didn't wait for very long.
I ordered a 2 gorditas 1 with chicharron prensado and other with carne con Chile. The carne con Chile had no flavor and was very hard. I asked the waitress if she could exchange for another. She took the bad gordita, but the owner’s son came back and told me since I had already bit the gordita he couldn’t replace. I asked him how I would have known about the taste without biting it but he didn’t answer. I paid my bill, left a tip and left. I felt disrespected and very unsatisfied to what could have been an otherwise good experience.
Took about 1 hour and 15 minutes to be served 6 gorditas. It was two adults and 2 kids, i ordered the nopales with pork and a picadillo one. Not sure why it took so long because it wasn't too busy. The day after i got sick and had an upset stomach. The food also didn't taste like anything and the flour gordita was so hard and toasted i couldn't even chew it.
The picadillo was extremely bland. And seems like the ground meat had been boiled. Even the chicken in flautas was extremely dry without any flavor as well. Very bland food overall.
🤬$16 for 5 rolled small taquitos called Flautas , way over priced lmao . No thanks ❗Should be $5 nothing Spectacular about this item except greed
Beware you can get sick on this place. Mole is very sweet, gorditas sometimes are very hard to eat they charge for everything even lemons
Did not make my order the way it was supposed to be made!! No lettuce no tomato no sour cream!!! Don’t sell it if you can’t make it!
Do your self a favor don't eat there broken coffee cup's food not good at all.
On TWO separate visits to this location, I was shortchanged by the cashier when paying with cash. To avoid potential discrepancies, it is recommended that customers double-check carefully count their change before departing the checkout/cashier area. These woman do it on purpose! Cashier Amber was the last one that did it to me. How in the hell do you hire people that can't count?
Their guisos are good, but the vessel (gordita) leaves much to be desired, sometimes is so hard to bite that I only eat the filling, I have been there more than 10 times but only 2 of them happy with what I get, they are also pricey, we need a good gorditas place in San Antonio!
I've never met an owner with such terrible service and such belittling expressions. I don't know if she was having a bad day, but even if she was, it's her business. I think she should make the people who visit feel "welcoming." The food is delicious, it really is. The owner's service is terrible, it's a shame. I don't think I'll ever return because of the way she treated me.
Gorditas have no flavor, there's nothing special about them, ( my 12 year old can make them better) you have to pay extra for cheese, the worst salsa I ever tested...no gorditas de fajita, yeah, not a joke, they don't serve fajitas. Nah, no me equivoque de restaurant, si esa es tu excusa para los q te dan bad reviews q pena d lugar.
I really hope the owners take into consideration this review! I had some flautas, they looked delicious! But tasted horrible! Repollo quenched in straight water, no flavor pure whole head of cabbage , if you see the picture, that juice in the bottom was pure, straight water, the flautas are huge! But if their huge and nasty defeats the purpose. Your just loosing material because its horrible taste so it goes to waste, over filled with beef, it would be a good thing it the beef would have flavor but no flavor, it tasted like unsalted, dried, over cooked, refrigerated shredded beef. The tortilla was stale. What is the point of investing so much material if you guys just going to make it taste bad? Makes no sense.. Great service but horrible food.
