My family and I absolutely love Café Troia! The service is impeccable (Lisa and our server Moises were fantastic), the food is so delicious, and the atmosphere and décor is beautiful! Due to Covid in 2020 we had no choice but to reschedule our daughters’ wedding multiple times this year. Obviously, we also were no longer able to have a big wedding as originally planned, and instead had a very intimate but beautiful, small ceremony in our church with just very immediate family and a beautiful dinner afterwards at Café Troia. It truly was so special, but especially for our daughter and new son….the new bride and groom. Words just aren’t enough to say how grateful we are to Café Troia for making it as truly memorable and wonderful as they did. We have always enjoyed Café Troia over the years for dinner and have celebrated various occasions such as birthdays and dinner after our daughter’s graduation from Towson U a few years back. But this wedding dinner for our daughter and new son was amazing and so special, and we will always be very grateful to Café Troia for making it so, while keeping the safety restriction protocals in place. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts again Café Troia! So highly recommend Café Troia whether for lunch, dinner or for a very wonderful, special occasion!
We love Cafe Troia. The food and the service are exceptional. If we could afford to eat their food every night we would.
Wonderful meal delivered by the owner and her daughter for my wife's birthday. Let's support this jewel during these times.
We had an excellent meal at Cafe Troia. Our waiter was superb. A fine dining experience in Towson.
Menu had a lot of choices. Service was friendly. Dishes are delicious with lots of interesting flavor and ingredients.
Superb Italian cuisine, fresh, bursting with natural flavors. Personal, friendly, professional service! The owners are the best!
My Brother David and his future Wife had an engagement party at Cafe Troia in November 2017. The Service was perfectly orchestrated, Wine Pairings were on Point and courses came out perfectly timed. There were about 25 of us in the party and we felt right at home. Lisa even helped my Mom put together a menu that catered to vegetarian and gluten free diners whom were amongst us. Thanks so much to the staff for putting together a party that will be forever positively etched in our memories.
We ordered a wide variety off the menu; from lamb chops to veal to meatballs and spaghetti. The food was delicious but the service was even better. Our waiter, Moisés, was above and beyond what you typically see in staff. Eat here!
Food was amazing, I like the classic Italian feel. It’s literally one of the last places in Baltimore County where you can have a fine dining sit down experience. Very good for romantic nights away from the kids.
Oh my gosh. It is hard to impress me since I am a former waitress who worked for a restaurant that makes cook-to-order sauces and homemade pasta. I was pleasantly surprised with the eggplant parmesan. It was spiced well and the portion size was perfect. Bring a lot of friends and enjoy your meal.
Wonderful atmosphere. The eggplant gnocchi was beyond words. It melted in my mouth. We are looking forward to celebrating our anniversary here together again soon.
True Italian restaurant. I loved it. I was fortunate to meet one of the owners and she was extremely personable. The food was great, the service was great, and the red sangria was outstanding. I will be back, and so will my family.
We helped Cafe Troia celebrate its 30th anniversary by enjoying its find price dinner. We have been eating at Troia's ever since it was a deli across from its present location. We always had a wonderful meal. Last night was no exception. We could have licked the plate the muscles came in, likewise the cheese and asparagus ravioli. Our sever, Jose's attentiveness made the meal even better.
It was really nice. Went with my brother and sisters ;we had a good time. Food was good, wine fine and service good too. Perhaps a bit pricy but all in all I'd go back. The lemon Napolean at the end was a good finish.
I have my birthday dinner party at Cafe Toria on August 7,2021. Lisa and staff was very personable. Lisa assist will the menu for my guest and the staff assisted with decorations! Cafe Toria is so beautiful on the inside and outside. In addition, the food was truly amazing! Please go to Cafe Toria you would love!
Excellent food and service. Wondering Northern Italian cuisine in a beautifully appointed setting. A bit pricey, but worth it for the quality of the experience we had.
I went to Cafe Troia for a wine dinner and was quite impressed by the quality of dishes that were prepared and the level of service. I would definitely add Cafe Troia to any list of wonderful places to have a meal in Baltimore County.
This is our favorite restaurant in the Baltimore area, we make a point to dine here once or twice when we're down here from Philly. Food is hands down the best, staff is super friendly & accommodating. Definitely recommend checking this place out!
Love Cafe Troia! The atmosphere is elegant and service personal and friendly. The Eggplant Parmesian is my favorite. The sauces are homemade and fresh. Many menu items for all the diverse tastebuds. Chef Gaetano is the Best in Baltimore!
Great diner that offers a large variety of delicious dishes from the Italian cuisine. The portions are large , the prices are reasonable and the staff very friendly and professional.
Excellent food. Great service. Chef from Italy. Simple presentation, but good portions and thoughtfully prepared, traditional, Italian food. Outside seating available.
Dinner was delicious. The mussels in wine sauce we're fantastic. The bracciola entree was very authentic and delicious.
This is the real deal among authentic, high quality Italian cuisine. Also, hands down the best Tiramisu I've ever had, and I've had a LOT of Tiramisu in my life!
Love the quiet atmosphere. Grilled calamari is delicious! Goat cheese ravioli will make you come back for me.
Went here for a date night. Very elegant and very intimate. Great food too. Perfect spot for a nice dinner and conversation.
This is a charming small restaurant. I had a wonderful seafood meal with my aging parents and the staff took special care of them. I plan to return when I am next in town.
The good and service was excellent. Owner of La Fontaine Bleue and Bleues on the Water. 50 years. Great italian food.Tom and Nancy. Nancy's birthday.
Cafe Troia has a lovely atmosphere that is warm and pleasant. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and wine list. They are attentive and the service is always great. I've tried many of the dishes and haven't had one I didn't like yet.
This is the best Italian restaurant in town! Lovely atmosphere, great waiter, fabulous food and wine. It's clear that everyone at Cafe Troia really cares. The tomato sauce on the eggplant dish I ordered was authentic and memorable. I will look forward to returning soon.
I had a lovely experience - it was my first visit and everyone from the hostess to the waiter were wonderful! It was my birthday dinner and they were so welcoming and hospitable! The food was great and they accommodated to our changes! Nice, local spot for an Italian meal!
Had a very nice dinner here - very good food, excellent service, nice atmosphere. It's a cozy place. I liked everything I ordered and the portions were generous. I would definitely return. Nice place for good Italian food and friendly people!
My daughter's college graduation celebration was held at this restaurant several weeks ago. I was from out of town and had to conduct all the arrangements over the phone. The manager worked closely with me on all the arrangements and the event was a success. My guest loved the food and intimate atmosphere. Thanks to all the staff for the great service.
Every time I eat here it’s a wonderful experience. Great ambiance, authentic Italian food and wonderful service. Highly recommend any of the pasta dishes as they are made fresh and in house. Perfect restaurant for any occasion. It’s a place that should be at the top of your list to visit if you haven’t yet.
Great job with the social distance dining setup! All staff were masked there entire time we received service. Guests are required to wear a mask while walking through the restaurant to the back deck. Tables are definitely 6 feet apart at least, & the restaurant seemed pretty smart about scheduling. The food was quite good! We had the burata with sun-dried tomatoes (the latter were savory whole skinless, not the dried up kind), monkfish on risotto, orange carrots (excellent), & vitello con funghi (veal with mushrooms, beautifully prepared) with asparagus instead of potatoes. Because of the heat we decide to just go with bottle of prosecco for my friend's birthday. Dessert: the creme brulee was pretty standard but OMG the chocolate flan! It's a bit on the pricey side but not terrible. Next time I'm getting the pasta & meatballs - another table got that & it looked generous!
Delicious Italian food in a convenient location in downtown Towson. Our book club met there for dinner and we all enjoyed our food - fresh pasta, eggplant parmesan, lasagna and the fresh fish of the day. And we shared a generously-sized starter of fresh beet ravioli with a balsamic reduction, which was a wonderful and unique start to our meal accompanied by warm bread with an olive oil dipper. The place was quiet on a Tuesday and we enjoyed a leisurely meal and conversation with excellent service from our knowlegable waiter. And there is a public parking lot just next door!
Great food, excellent service, complimentary valet parking on weekends. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I could hardly hear there. Difficult to have a conversation. Seemed contradictory to the visual ambience inside.
I've gone here a couple of times for Valentines Day, and I really enjoy the service and setting. Great way to set the mood. Thank you Cafe Troia!
The food was excellent. The restaurant was out of Peroni (Italian beer- it was Friday night at 8 p.m.)!! Overall, nice.
Went there on a Thursday night. Food was very slow coming out of the kitchen - dinner for two took almost 2 hours. Beef braciole was quite tasty. Unfortunately the taglierini con gamberi was a plate of overcooked pasta swimming in a pool of olive oil with 4 lonely shrimp on top. And they were out of tiramisu - how does an Italian restaurant run out of tiramisu at 8 pm? Not in a hurry to go back.
This atmosphere and meal was so disappointing that I didn't remember to take pictures. There was no valet service that night so it took a long time to find parking and the food wasn't worth the hassle of having to look for parking. I was disappointed, I've heard good things about them I may consider giving them another try.
Service was great. The PEI mussels and Carpaccio were delicious. The pasta dishes seriously lacked in flavor.
My sister from North Carolina and I were looking forward to good authentic Italian food. While the pasta was tasty, the Eggplant Parmesan was not layers of tender sautéed eggplant and cheese. Our dinners turned out to be meat lasagna with (very few) chunks of eggplant —not what we expected. We were very disappointed. Of course, because of the times, we were unable to “send the order back”.
This was a very disappointing experience. I went in with high expectations, from the high reviews and well done website. The food was cold and poorly prepared, the sangria was weak, almost watery, and the server forgot one of our dishes. Other people seemed be enjoying themselves though, so maybe we just had some bad luck.
Expensive mediocre Italian food. You’re much better off going anywhere in Little Italy- just better bang for your buck. Dessert was obviously old; I got the flan and it had a thick, almost chewy skin on the bottom (top of the flan that probably sat in the fridge for 2 weeks)
I went during the weekday lunch hour. Food wasnt good at all...my eggplant parm it was lukewarm, when I asked whether the food was fresh or frozen, they said it was made ahead of time and the kitchen was busy. Not remotely worth the prices they are charging.
Had dinner with family last night. Food was fair. Rolls tasted stale. Food was bland. It was just not good. I was here a few years ago and it was excellent. Definitely not the same. Also, there was a dog barking in the front dining room that we could hear in the back. Won’t be back.
We ordered take out for a belated Valentine’s Day meal based in the reviews. We were extremely disappointed. The calamari Vesuvius was bland and overcooked. There was no hint of heat as the description suggested. Both the veal with mushrooms and beef with gnocchi were also flavorless. It was a disappointing first experience. We will not be ordering from here again.
Had dinner there last night and I am starving this morning. The food was awful! The waiter said he was sorry and would take it off the bill. We were there with a big group so I don't know if he did. I didn't want to make a big deal out of it in front of everyone. My friend ordered two glasses of wine. $27! One of the glasses was $16. Ridiculous! I won't go there again.
Made a reservation for 8pm. Driving from Philadelphia. We show up at 8 sharp, and waited till 8:30 with no table. Absolutely inexcusable. We even had to pay the valet guy for bringing the car around. We left and went to the Towson Tavern, excellent food and waitstaff. Saved an impromptu 20th b-day celebration.
Bruschetta was not toasted. Arancini tasted good but were not actual Arancini. Wine was served warm. Caprese had almost no oil on it. Pizza was not cooked enough.
