They have a diverse menu of fast, fun food: including several specialty hamburgers; hot dogs; chicken strips and a large paper boat filled with Frito's chips, chili con Carne and superfluous finely shredded cheese. I ordered the barbecue-sauced hamburger, but I found the hickory-named sauce to be to sweet. When we visit the youngsters again, I will order the Swiss cheese-graced hamburger.

Food is great, service is amazing. May take a bit longer, but it's way better quality than most other fast food places.

Great little burger joint. I've driven past it probably 100 times or more and always said I was going to stop. Finally did and I'll say I was honestly impressed. I got the triple and for the size should have probably gone with the double. Burger was juicy and had great flavor. Also got the Frito pie which the chili was great, and a butterfinger shake. The shake made me feel like I was at a 50's diner. Service was exceptional although a little slow; but I'm assuming they cook everything fresh. Don't hold me to that because I honestly don't know. However that's the only conclusion I'm going with for the slow service. It smelt so good and I was way hungry I forgot to take pics lol.

We've lived in Abilene for 19 years and this was surprisingly our first visit to Mr. Burger. We ordered the Patty Melt, Hickory Smoked Burger, Grilled Ham & Cheese, and the kids chicken nuggets. All was prepared quickly and was hot when they brought it out. The food was excellent, most definitely would recommend, and we will be visiting again!

I got 2 single burger combos one with fries and the other with tater tots. They were both made fresh. Nice clean home styled and the staff is very nice. I just moved back home from Washington and this is one of the best burgers I've had since I have been home!!! Definitely 5 stars!!!!!

First time to eat here. Had burger, fries and tots. Was really good. We are going back to try the onion rings. Wish the patty melt was on the correct bread. But hey, we're in Texas so it's on texas toast. 🤪 We're definitely going back. Owner stopped at table and chatted with us. Nice small town feel.

Came in at 8:30 pm to sit down and eat and were greeted by friendly staff who took our order. In no time flat, we had our food and it was delicious. We were out of there in 20 minutes! This is one place that you can count on to always have good food at a great price, be super clean, and have a welcoming, well-trained staff. Love Mr. Burger!!

I want to say thank you to the lady who works here at the Mr. burger on buffalo gap rd in Abilene tx. My truck was giving me some issues and I coast into their parking lot and was working on my truck for probably 10-15 minutes and this young lady come out to the parking lot where I had been working and gave me a cup of ice water. Thank you very much for the drink I am sorry for not catching your name. It has been awhile since I have eaten here but last time I had is was very good! Mr Burger wowed us with their customer service tonight. We pulled in at 8:57pm and realized they turned off their sign light, thus they were closing. I was passing their menu when someone asked if they could help. We ordered and I even went to the wrong window to pay, they were nice about it. I felt bad so I kept apologizing for being late, they acted like it wasn’t a big deal. They served us with a smile and the food was great! We will definitely be back, just earlier next time!!

It's been 30 plia years since I've had a Mr. Burger burger. Still better than What-A-Burger in my opinion.

Both the Staff and food are amazing. I eat here at least 6 times a month. The bad reviews are just people being hateful or trying to get free food. Lot of them are on alot of restaurants giving one star reviews. Try it yourself and stop going just over reviews.

used to have lunch here every day... service was always exemplary, food was always hot, delicious, and fresh! Staff was always kind and courteous, place was always clean and tidy. i strongly recommend Mr. Burger, for the old heads in town its almost like Mr Gs but better. This was my first time visiting Mr Burger and it was a really good experience! I used the drive thru and ordered a corn dog, fried okra and a diet cherry vanilla dr pepper. It was happy hour, so my drink was 1/2 off ( Happy Hour is 3-4) As I was pulling up to the first window, a young fella poked his head out and smiled and waved me over. He was very friendly and just so precious! Whatever Mr Burger is paying him is not enough! I paid for my food and was given my drink and instructed to go around to the next window to pick up my order. As I was waiting, I took a sip of my drink and I kid you not, the flavor sent me back in time! Not sure what cherry juice they're using but it tasted like it used to when I was a kid! Not like the fake stuff you get at other places. That was the best diet cherry vanilla dp I've had in a long time! I received my order and headed on my way. The corndog was just a corndog, but it was hot and fresh. I didn't think to ask for mustard but it was still delicious. The fried okra was so hot and fresh and tasty! I might ask next if they can make them a little crisper but they were still excellent! I hope to go back soon and try a burger. And I'm already thinking about that drink!

Had been years since I ate at A Mr. Burger. I was an employee in 1989 in Hereford Tx. Still delicious new Items on the menu but loved it! Management was great and very friendly. Well maintained. Good burgers and fast, friendly service. Very busy at lunch. Popular with local residents and people that happen to be working in the area. The drive through is a little confusing if it's your first time and there are no instructions. If you go to the wrong window first, it confuses the whole business!

On a whim I decided to grab lunch here because, hey, with a name like Mr. Burger you kinda lay it all out there. For a Wednesday afternoon it wasn't too busy and the prices looked reasonable. The cashier was friendly enough and the turnaround was pretty quick. I ordered the double burger no cheese with fries. The taste wasn't spectacular but good for the cost. Honestly just the burger itself is three stars, nothing to brag about, but the positive experience I had pushed it up another star. I'd go back.

Got the grilled chicken and a foot long chili cheese dog. Both were really good. Chicken was tender and juicy. Hot dog was all beef and the bun was toasted and it was almost hidden under the cheese. Maybe a tad pricey but worth it. I'll be back.

I had the triple burger and it was great. The staff was nice and service was quick. The fries could have been better though. It tasted like the oil they were cooked in. Some house seasoning would have made them better.

Burger was traditional and good...pattie well-cooked and veggies were fresh. Also had the nachos, which weren't bad, but reminded me of a snack stand at a little league baseball game. However, the prices across the menu were very reasonable (even cheap!). A good place to grab a burger.

We ate there for lunch with a group of friends. The service was fine. My grilled chicken sandwich was good and the onion rings were crisp, but very dark and greasy. I wondered if the oil needed to be changed. I like a light color to my onion rings. My Husband's fries were light colored, and were good.

I had been told by a friend that they were very good so I convinced my wife and her sister to go for a bite between games and I wasn't disappointed. Onion rings were hot and fresh and my sandwich was very good.

I assumed the burrito was like a Taco Bell one. It was a an Allsups burrito. My daughter loved her food. I think I will stick with the burger from now on. Just thought I would try something different.

Took my daughter here for a dinner date. My burger was absolutely delicious. Well seasoned and cooked. The only complaint I have about our meal was my daughter's chicken tenders were way overcooked. The pricing here is reasonable and you definitely get your money's worth.

Worth the stop if you have a few extra minutes. My wife and I ordered fried pickles, a chicken fried steak sandwich meal and a single burger meal. It was around $23.00. It took a little while to prepare our order, but it was worth the wait.

This is the place we normally got to while in Abilene. The food is great for a great price. The last time we went it wasn't as great and the chicken was so hard my kids couldn't eat it and the burgers were plain, like no seasoning and they looked undercooked. Mr.Burger is really good. It’s a basic burger. Nothing exciting about it but you get a very good burger for their prices. I’ve been about 5 times and have only had one experience that wasn’t good. Our burgers this time were put together a little bad. The fried pickles were also very greasy this time. They forgot our fries to but got them out quick. Overall I love Mr.Burger and still will go. Flavor is there for everything. If you are looking for a basic burger that hits the spot, this is the place to go.

Mr. Burger is in a prime location off Buffalo Gap Rd. I’m pretty sure they get a lot of business from the area due to location. As for their food, it’s just okay. I ordered a double bacon cheese burger combo and a side of sweet potato fries. I think everything could have used more salt. On the plus side, the menu does have a lot to offer for a fast food restaurant. The employees there were very nice and double checked my order.

Not bad when it comes to service. The food's a bit bland. We had the double burger, fries, tots, and a "chocolate" ice cream. By chocolate I mean syrup on vanilla ice cream. Wait was short. Probably won't be eating here again, but there's always a possibility.

It has nice customer service. I waited unusually long for my food. I feel it is attributable to making good hamburgers. However, I simply don't know. It was generally a busy place with many orders coming in. The drive through queue was long.

It's okay. I had a Crispy Chicken Salad. It came on some kind of fried taco shell 🤷🏾‍♀️ with just lettuce, tomato chicken and cheese. The dressing wasn't even salad dressing. It was dipping sauce for nuggets or tenders. The fried mushrooms were...let's just say, I've honestly had better. I guess I expected too much. It was clean though. You can tell not too many black folks go there, because the workers seemed to have an attitude and the pictures on the walls. But hey, that's just me though. One girl did seem nice.

I really want to love this place. It has potential, food is decent, & the restaurant is close to my house. It seems like the majority of their staff are high school students who need more mentoring in the customer service department. I came up to the drive through, sat there for 3-4 mins & no one greeted me or acknowledged me. I spoke out & yelled, "hello?" Still nothing. I drove up to the window & was met by an annoyed teenager. She informed me that I hadn't placed my order & I told her no one acknowledged me. She proceeded to tell me that for fortune reference, they will get to me when they can & it may take a few minutes when they are busy (in a snooty tone). Before I could respond she shut the window on me & walked away. Although I was pissed, I wasn't about to have a verbal exchange with a teenager. I should've asked to speak to the manager but I didn't & that's was my bad.

I ordered the Patty melt as it was fabulous the last time we ate there but this time we were very dissatisfied. Barely any onions, the sauce was fairly blah and it was hard to taste the little Patty of meat compared to the 2 large pieces of Texas toast. We also ordered corn fritters and poppers. The poppers were good but the fritters tasted like they could have used another minute in tgefryer (still doughy)

Burgers are great, but their appetizers taste weird. I don't know if it's the oil they use, but I definitely suggest not wasting your money.

Was driving by after a delivery in the neighborhood across the street when I remembered I hadn't eaten yet. Decided to swing in for a steak sandwich and tots. For as small as the joint was, I was expecting a hand-battered, hammered thin, deliciously fried steak sandwich. I requested extra mayo as most places skimp on it the sauce. What I received tasted like it was frozen store bought steak... Same goes for the tots. There was a thin swipe of mayo on both sides of the patty, which I guess is acceptable. Not as much as I'd like but now I know. Tots really aren't worth talking about. Reading other reviews, I should have tried a burger and a shake. I'll give it another shot perhaps next time I go through that side of town.

I've eaten here twice now. Seemed pretty good the first time. That time I got a double burger and onion rings. I remember the onion rings were really good. I think that's why it left a good impression with me the first time. Second time I ate here, got a double burger and fries. Now I gotta say... Mr. Burger has more charm than flavor. The beef patties just aren't good quality in my opinion and I could discern no salt or pepper to add flavor to the meat. The fries are not worth getting. They remind me of the fries Burger King sold 20 years ago. I've not tried the tots yet. They may be really good. I'm just pretty sure I'll not be getting the burgers anymore, or the fries. My daughter likes their milkshakes though. The place definitely has charm and good onion rings. I think I just need to try some different menu options next time I find myself here.

Almost every time I have come here, the burgers are not hot and fresh and the bun is always cold. As if they had been cooked ahead of time and just sitting until someone orders it. Requested extra crispy tots and they couldn’t get those right either, not fresh. I want to support local but this place has gone downhill in their food quality.

I decided to give Mr. Burger's drive-thru a try in Abilene and unfortunately, it didn't quite live up to my expectations. The burger itself was decent, cooked well with a good flavor. But the drive-thru service was painfully slow, it took forever to get my order. The staff seemed a bit disorganized and it felt like they were not well-trained. The restaurant itself was also a bit cluttered and could use a good cleaning. On the bright side, the fries were crispy and seasoned just right. All in all, Mr. Burger serves up decent food, but the drive-thru service and overall cleanliness of the restaurant could use some work.

Extremely slow service, very apt to bungle the order, i.e., ordered French fries, got home with fried okra and fried green pickles. Last night my order for sweet tea was a Dr.Pepper. Question everything you order before leaving.

we went and i ordered and I think i got charged extra because i ordered jalapeno poppers but they didn't show on the ticket but kitchen had made them how would they get it if it wasn't rang in computer can malfunction the lady instead of checking made me pay for more and my husband burger was wrong on top of that.

I love the food at Mr. Burger. But the employees currently here at 6:13 p.m. were in the back with no one watching the front. I stood at the front for quite some time waiting for refills. Meanwhile, they're in the back singing and blasting the song Colt 45 and then cussing up a storm. I have 4 kids. While I am not perfect and have had an occasional bad word slip out, I have never in my life cussed where a customer can hear while at work. That is literally not how we should act in public or at a family establishment.

Took almost 45 mins in the drive through to get our food that wasn't very tasty. Fries were cold and over fried. Only reason the u got a 2 star and not a one is we have had decent experience here a few months back but this is the second time that it has been super slow and not worth the wait

Food was good and reasonable price but all the chairs were on the table when we walked in and an employee was sweeping. I thought they were getting ready to close(it was 1:45 on Saturday). Another party asked if they could take chairs down to sit so we did the same. We only waited a few minutes for our food and it was good but the same employee came out with a mop that had alot of cleaning solution in it and began moping around the four tables that were occupied. Yes restaurant was clean but smelling cleaning solution and being mopped around doesn't make for a good eating experience.

My first time there so didnt know what i wanted. The person waiting in me was good about giving me time to look over the menu but was not very friendly. When i asked what was on the nachos she just punched the computer and spouted off what was on it. The place was very clean however the mushrooms were over cooked and the chicken bites had no flavor. Not impressed at all.

This has gotta be the WORST BURGER in Abilene. I had the Mushroom Swiss burger. They use frozen patties with very little seasoning, canned mushrooms, and cold Swiss cheese. If I wanted a frozen unseasoned bland burger using patties you can get at Sam's I'd just make my own. At least the staff was friendly.

I have been going to this Mr burger for years. I always get the jalapeño chicken bite meal. Not only has it gone up in price but they have cut the serving size. I used to save the rest now I open the box disappointed. I thought It was just a bad day so I went back and it was the same. When I tried to address it they said the cook has been there the whole time and it’s exactly the same…..okay…. I never leave reviews but I tried to let yall know twice now…. I add jalapeños for an extra price and got five little cut ones. It’s jalapeños guys not gold. Maybe get the cheeseburger so he can’t make up his serving sizes.

I ordered a double cheeseburger with some toppings. Everything was correct but the meat was weirdly soft and mushy didn’t feel like it was cooked properly but it was. Tater tots were cold and oily. Service was slow I called in my order and still had to wait 20 minutes

We had never eaten at Mr Burger before so decided to try it. The gentleman that took our order was impatient and rushed us through our order. When my husband said what he wanted on his burger, the employee sighed and said hold on. The prices on the restaurants website did not accurately reflect the current prices but we understand things happen so we ordered our food. Two burgers and fried mushrooms. $36. When we got home my husbands burger was not correct so he pulled off everything he is allergic to and added his own condiments etc that had not been added. The bacon that he paid extra for, not there. Four fried mushrooms in the little baggie. Six fries in my little bag. I was excited to try the strawberry limeade. The strawberries tasted strange so I abandoned that drink and just drank water. Granted, we should have checked our food but to get it so wrong was surprising to us. I’m sad because we were excited to try something new to us.

mediocre for the price. a pretty thin burger, fries and a small drink for 17 dollars is kind of crazy. i ordered ialapeno poppers and i got actual fried jalapeño. a bit disappointed by that. overall fresh and fast but no thanks on the price. not worth it IMO.

Very disappointing. The restaurant was clean, but the cashier was unfriendly. Fries and fried pickles were good, but the onion rings tasted old. I don’t know if y’all were mad that you messed up my order and I caught it because it was the only thing I ordered to eat and my sons corn dog but I feel like this was unnecessary. Our first time and I'm sad to say we were disappointed. Ordered a Jr. Burger with cheese and bacon. The bacon was less than half a slice. Not sure if we were charged for it. Also ordered a Hickory Smoked Burger. I didn't realize it came completely plain. Dry bun and patty. It did however have a hint of Hickory flavor. I will try Mr. Burger again because the fries were pretty dang good. That saved our meal this time.

This place use to be amazing, one of our favorite places. However, every time we go there the Gen Y, 8 second attention span, lack of attention to detail is evident because our orders are always wrong. Tonight for instance ordered a double burger combo with bacon, ketchup, mustard, pickles, also chili cheese tots. Got my food and no chili cheese tots, the chili and cheese were added under my burger because the girl didn’t know how to add it to the tots on the register. Got my meal, no chili cheese any where. Went back up to the counter, talked to said Gen Y young man, watched him walk back to the kitchen, throw my receipt in the air, and come back out and tell me that I had to pay extra. Go back and look at the receipt tardo. What happened to attention to detail, pride in your work, the customer is always right. I will never be back and can’t believe this place is still open.

My husband and i grabbed a,late lunch....about 230... both his double meat and my single tasted like the patty was cooked at prenoon. Hard, dry, tasteless. Very unhappy. Gone downhill. Other better burger places just down the road.

Messed up on our order, but just handed it to us and closed the window at that. Had to wait another two minutes for her to come back to ask for napkins and forks. And had an attitude that we asked? We usually come every Saturday but won’t be back after this visit. Everything has gone down hill.. food, customer service, etc.

Sat. Nov 12, 2022 4pm - met by an extremely rude young woman at the first drive through window. She had an attitude the whole time while trying to charge my card. Specifically asked for no tomato and was given it anyway. The drink cups we were given were defective and broke from the bottom, dumping the cherry limeade in my new car and all over my husband. On top of that, to be charged the same for a full burger for a single beef patty, only to realize a McDonald's 1/4 lb patty tastes better.... Just rubbed salt in the wound. 0/10 do not recommend

I have tried just about every burger place in Abilene and so I can say with my own partial certainty that this is the worst of them all. The meat does not look nor taste real. The tea tastes like straight up syrup. Lastly, the fries taste like they were cooked in ancient oil.

Only giving 1 star because you have to in order to leave a review. Very disappointed. We have always loved this burger place and unfortunately after tonight's experience we will NOT be going back. The lady that took our order "Bre" was extremely rude. We got to the window and she didn't greet us just said here, here's your 1st drink(we had 5 drinks total) I asked her which one is this and she said I don't know I didn't take your order and slammed the window. She opened it back up and I mentioned the attitude she had was uncalled for and she said well the best I can do for you is give you an application because we are short handed and again, slammed the window. I let her know we understood the situation but she shouldn't be taking it out on paying customers because we are the reason she has a job. **Food was cold, order was wrong and for $40 I feel we could have had way better service/food at McDonald's.

They were rude and they messed up our order. Burger was wrong, had to ask for the ranch that is supposed to come with the fried jalapenos. They ignored us when we tried to get their attention and then didn't say a single word when they finally gave us the ranch. An apology would have been appreciated. They were too busy having a personal conversation to pay attention to the customer.

Terrible Service! Employee kept interrupting while I was trying to order at the drive thru window asking questions (“Is this a combo?) and having me repeat. After finally ordering, I pulled up and paid and was told to pull around (no thank you, have a nice day, nothing). At the next window, the girl opens the window and slings me a sack and shuts the window!! There was not appreciation of my business at this window either. To make matters worse, I get home and my order is not correct! I have experienced this several times here and won’t be back!

Went through the drive thru with my buddy because the shed was sold out needed a place to grab some food along with the fact that my buddy had to go back for his bacon which they forgot the hickory smoke burger which was thin as heck was ketchup meat onion and barbecue sauce for 4.78 your ripping people off a sonic Jr burger would have been more filling I wouldn't recommend this place at all

Workers were very rude especially after their mistake of forgetting to add one of my kids burgers in the bag and heading to a meeting. They expected me to drive back get the burger drop it off back home then head to my meeting. They then placed me on hold and they must have unhit mute cause he was telling her and the manager was laughing and said just hang up on her….. never going back

I cannot say that I'll ever visit or dine here ever again. The lack of customer service and respect is astounding and makes one wonder where are the owners. There's better service and quality of food at McDonald's. The servers regularly mess up your order and give you attitude for their mistakes. If I'm going to endure that treatment from a restaurant at least have better prices. Not worth wasting time or money. Frankly the only people I think eat there are people from the area, who probably don't know any better.

This is the most over-priced fast food burger joint I have been to. By the looks of the place you would expect awesome home cooked burgers. Don’t be fooled. Me and my girlfriend ordered burgers, and our two children opted for the chicken bites. Our kids LOVE anything chicken, but they did not enjoy the chicken bites. I ate one before handing it out and it was disgusting. The burgers were disgusting. Everything tasted like pure black pepper. The fries had no flavor. The sweet potato fries were just nasty. Neither of us ate more than a couple bites for $40+. Worst dining decision I’ve made in awhile, and will not be going back. One star is a compliment to this place.

Mediocre food at best, burgers that you can tell are not freshly grilled they sit in brining water on the grill until it's time to heat them up so they're all precooked. The fried foods taste overly fried the grease normally tastes old. I'm not even trying to be rude I used to love this place because it was quick and easy but really and truthfully it's never matched the first time I ever ate there

After today, I will not be returning to Mr. Burger. It was around 11:30, no one at drive thru at all but me. Placed my order, paid, drove around to the next window with no one in line and my hamburger was ready and at the window. Could tell right off, pre cooked, cheese not even melted, bun not even hot. Hamburger meat getting so thin and overcooked. Fries just lukewarm. I use to go her often because close to work, but no more.

Went there February 6, got two double combos and 2 orders of fried pickles paid over$30. Got home 22 miles away the pickles were salt bombs and the hamburgers tasted like plant meat!! Worst tasting stuff gave it to the dog and she wouldn’t eat it! NEVER WILL BE BACK. Now I know why the business is so slow there!!! And no fries with the combo meal!!!!!!!

I went through the drive thru to get a shake. I asked for military discount. They said only if you're in uniform, and come inside. What is that?? What if you're disabled?? You should either give the discount, or not.

I have tried to give this place a shot and have ordered food from here 5 different times. The food is mediocre at best and I have yet to have my order correct even though the order is ready back to me as it is given to me through the window. This last order will be my last time I will eat at this place. It is very frustrating to go somewhere and never get the order correct.

The at this place gave me food poisoning so bad that my body literally seized until it was all out of my system. Idk what it is but some ain’t right about this place I won’t be returning to find out

They charge a two year old for a cup of water. If I elaborate on this, my post will get flagged for antisemitism

I had food delivered it was the worst nachos nothing but grease and wilted lettuce and chips.... they don't reply to anything their business is horrible

This place packs the sodas so full of ice that there was less soda than a kids soda from other places. They charge full price but give the same size fries in the adult combos as in the kids meals. They make a big deal and charge more if you ask for an extra ranch. The slushes are so overly sweet they are impossible to enjoy. Oh, and the service is substandard (orders often wrong and unfriendlyemployees) . Hate this place.
