I just moved back to the states from Germany and don’t like fast food. I consider this a drive through special because it’s real steak 🥩 and food. Amazing and I’m glad it’s close to the base.

Steak Express has one of the best steaks, and beef tips in town. The burgers are very good. I only wish you had an option for a seedless buns. There are so many of us that have stomach issues and can’t eat sesame seed buns.

For a restaurant that delivers or drives through only, the food is great. Large baked potatoes, perfect prepared steaks, medium-sized salad, perfect rolls, and a 32-Oz sweet or unsweetened tea. 30 flavors of tea and bottles of soda are available also.

I came to Abilene on a business trip. I've never been a huge fan of West Texas, but this place was so good that I would consider moving here just so I could eat here every day! Yeah, it's THAT good.. as a former Sous Chef, I never thought I'd see a place that could make fine dining-caliber steaks at a fraction of the price, but Texas Steak Express pulls it off.. and my order was delivered in half the promised time (about 30 minutes) as hot and fresh as if it had been run straight to my table from the kitchen. You can't go wrong here.

I needed to charge my phone, wanted a nice meal while traveling and the place I had driven to was no longer in business. I asked a local for a referral and she told me about this place. Delicious! I was so hungry I didn't take any pictures of my meal, but just know you definitely get your money's worth and it's worth the wait. Very nice staff too.

Just great. I loved eating here when I was stationed at Dyess, but I moved many years ago. I kept a handful of their plastic cups, they are great water cups, and after 8 years I only had one left. My wife wanted to get replacements for a Christmas gift (I love these cups), and they sent some for free!! Truly impressed with their customer service, even for former ones.

Awesome, awesome food and service. My wife said they wer gud wen she was in Texas last n hellooooo great flavors, loved it. We'll definitely order for delivery or stop in again!! Highly recommend this restaurant. Great prices and less than $47 for 2 dinners.

Can honestly say, this is some of the best food I've had delivered in a long time. The food was delivered perfectly. Like it just came off the grill and they rushed it to my house, PERFECT. It was outstanding. If you havent tried it, treat yourself to some amazing burgers and steak tips. Their side shrimp was amazing too, like perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection.

This is the best steak places I have ever eaten at! The staff is so amazing! The food has been perfect EVERY SINGLE TIME!!. I have eaten there since they first opened over 20 years ago. My favorite is the Philly sandwich, better than any other in town. Their steak tips are fabulous too! Take advantage of the lunch special, it's more than enough food and not a bad price considering the price of beef nowadays.

There was a problem with the computer system; it scheduled my order as a pick-up when I intended delivery. I realized it late, and the store was very busy. But they graciously changed my order to delivery and rushed the food to me. I needed the order for an important meeting, and thanks to the quick actions of the staff, our meeting only started 5 minutes late. Thank you, Steak Express!

Just had another great meal from steak express! We ordered on the phone for delivery. We always pay in cash.The young woman who took the order was very efficient. The meal arrived quickly and was hot and ready to eat. The gentleman who bought it was very nice as well. We got the lunch special that they serve before 5. Great meal for a good price!

Ordered food for delivery it said it would take an hour to deliver- it was less then 30 minutes when it arrived food was HOT and delicious. We ordered sweet teas which were very good, I ordered a chocolate cake for dessert and it was also very good. Always a pleasure eating steak express

I was blown away at the quality and taste of my steak! I was surprised that it was cooked correctly and that's rare around here. The loaded baked potato and salad were also delicious. Delivery came quick and everything was hot. What more could I ask for?

My husband and I purchased the dinner for two special and it was absolutely phenomenal! It was our first time at this establishment- and it definitely did not disappoint. The customer service was amazing, and super helpful. The food tastes phenomenal; we ate the ribeye steak with shrimp with all the sides. I’d recommend anyone to try this place!

The Texas Express in Abilene TX is great! We ordered the before 5pm special. It comes with Hamburger steak gravy, baked potatoes, salad and a roll. If you order 2 you get a large drink. The meat was cooked a perfect medium. The baked potato was soft and tasty. The salad was fresh! My husband loves the rolls. Because it was delivered a little late he threw in 2 large cookies for free! We order from them again!

Steak express has the best experience and customer service that I have experienced in a while. Our order was accidentally dropped at the wrong house and instead of having a back and forth they did their research and their due diligence and figured out it was a mistake and gladly remade the order and sent it to us and even made sure to contact us on receiving the order. The food is delicious and was fresh and hot. the staff is amazing and was delivered asap after the mistake, will always highly recommend. I come from an east coast state that does not offer a quick and deliverable steakhouse and have no negative comments and never will.

Good place for hamburgers. I always get the hamburgers. Never been disappointed. My only complaint is the sweet tea is usually not very good. And I don’t think you should charge an extra $1 for soda. Still great food, but the Hispanic lady working the window Saturday 9/7 at about 4-5ish. I didn’t have the debit card I ordered with. I understand it’s a rule, but she acted like I pulled her arm off or something. Pretty rude to begin with. She called a man over he was a lot nicer n just asked me for the email confirmation. Why she couldn’t just do that idk.

Had some issues with my order, over cooked, and undercooked sides, missing sides and old brown salads. Called the store and spoke with the manager who was very apologetic and sent us new sides. The meat was amazing, it was just the sides. She also gave us a credit on our next order as well as a coupon. I appreciate the professionalism, and willingness to make things right.

Was my first time going into steak express I had no idea what was really on the menu or what sides were what or how it worked. The person at the counter wasn't that enthused that I didn't seem to know anything. Wasn't that much help. But a lady in the back did help a little and then the food came out. It was very good. Steak express for a quick yummy steak dinner for the family. I can't complain.

Great folks working here. Cheeseburger was good but not great. Overcooked for me. Their sign says they only grill their burgers medium well or well done. I like medium, so not a match for me. I also had the peach cobbler and it was pretty good but again not great. Seemed like canned peach pie filling to me. Over all I will not crave this place but I wouldn't turn it down either.

First time being here. I ordered a turkey burger and asked what it came with. They didn't say it came with cheese so I ordered it. When I was about to eat it I saw it came with cheese. I'm allergic so I called and they resolved it real quick by making a new one. They even threw in few extra goodies. I recommend this place. Food is great and will go back to try something else.

Grabbed a quick lunch for the wife on my day off. Lunch Special steak tips and stuffed baked potato. She was pleased with the steak, wanted more "fixins" for the potato and the salad was really just a cup of iceberg lettuce with about 3 pieces of shredded carrot and red cabbage. She was disappointed that there was no tomatoes or croutons. Still not a bad lunch just expecting a little more for the price.

First of all let me say as a business owner I understand you can't please 100% of your customers and I rarely leave reviews .We have been ordering steak express for years, just about every week. The food is good almost all of the time . We get the chicken or mixed grill with chicken and steak and the flavor is always good but the potatoes are under cooked majority of the time, but that is not my complaint, my complaint is that 9 out of 10 times there is something missing from the order, wether its plasticware, butter for the potatoes, honey butter for the rolls, steak sauce, or the salads or teas. They should slow down and double check the orders before they deliver them .

I don't recommend this place unless you want a standard subpar go to your cheap dads cookout burgers. Burgers have no seasoning and it tastes like they are broiled most likely. The sweet tea was good though.

First off call taker on the phone could have a better attitude on the phone. Everything with her is you should know what you want even its your first time. Waiting on the food to see what that is like. Now to the food. Its was excellent, hot and made to order. Your delivery guys was very nice and listen to what I had to say. He made up for the female taking the order. Now what about next time a first time customer call your business?

Good food and good service but if ordering online and the store is closed the online order wont tell you they are closed until your at checkout so it's kinda a pain/waste of time building a order then seeing it's closed.

They have three sizes of ribeye. This is their largest. Would hate to see how disappointing the small and the medium are... First time at this place. Everything else seems pretty good!

It was just okay. They forgot part of our meal that I paid extra for. I didn't know because they packed all of the toppings seperate from the burgers (which is super wasteful) and didn't pack the loaded part of my potato. Plus they stapled my bag so i couldnt check it without ripping open the bag before i drove off.. so that makes the staples senseless too. I called to tell them they forgot it and asked for a refund of the nearly $4 up charge I paid online for but they refused saying it wasn't possible to refund me for the upcharge difference and said they were closed too and had no drivers to come deliver it to me. So my only other option was to go get it another day when they are open again. I dont know if this is their tactic to get people to come a second time but we won't be coming back any time soon after how wasteful they are and the burgers werre pretty dry too. The gallon jugs got tea all over my truck because it was not wiped off properly before they handed it to me. And their is no menu on their building and the one they guve you has no prices. You basically have to order online....

Ordered a ribeye medium with a loaded baked potato, baked potato was way overcooked and steak was rare, called to complain and manager and employees were rude as hell. It's not my fault they hire a cook who can't!

The past couple of visits have been hit or miss... grilled chicken, steak and hamburgers, the chicken wasn't cooked completely, the hamburgers were dry and the steak was supposed to be medium rare but was dry and well done. My fiance and I use to eat here all the time. I don't know if the person in front of the grill is just having a bad day but... to spend almost $50 every time and get mediocre food, is disappointing.

Just ordered in the drive through line. The guy at the window demanded that we acknowledged his greeting. My husband started ordering and the employee asked us again how we were doing. That’s ok but he wouldnt take the order until we told him that we were well. So we ordered and the employee I guess assumed we knew how to order. ( This was the first time we were there). His attitude was that we were asking dumb questions. He asked us to move to the front if someone came in behind us in the drive through. We had to move up. Totally fine still. The employee brought the food to us and told us “Have a nice day”. Well he said it very short and to the point and immediately turned and walked away. Didn’t thank us for our order or anything. I have worked with the public and fast food for many years. This guy needs some customer service skills! The food order was correct. And smells great. I live 30 minutes away. Haven’t got home yet but I hope it tastes as good as it smells. I just hate to feel like someone is better and smarter than I am.

Food was good, we ordered loaded baked potatoes, paid extra and didn't anything but a potato. The manager is flat out rude. This was my 2nd time there, 2nd experience, 1st experience was asked if I was already i said yes, he flaked his hand and walked off. Like really? This time I believe his boss was there. His boss didn't talk greet or anything. Just asked what was going on. He said I asked about a military discount. So after all that, my food was lukewarm, I asked for tea with no ice, they gave me hot sweet tea... like coffee hot tea. Who does that... they only reason for the 2 stars is the gals upfront actually seem to care and did there job appropriately...

The grilled chicken was dry and didn't have good flavor. The salad was just lettice with nothing else. Very disappointing.

Food is fine , customer service service sucks. My husband is a regular and likes extra mayo on his burger (which comes in packets they don't put it on there)now he's been eating there at least twice a week..and the person who took his order at the drive thru, said and i quote " you know what? That's a lil excessive , im gonna have to charge you" for mayo packs that comes in box of like a 1000?? He canceled the order because who just makes up a charge out of the blue because YOU think that's excessive?? These packs are typically in little containers by the napkins where you can self serve in MOST restaurants. Hell his meal probably was way more than that box of mayo.

Horrible service! First the lady who always answer to take order was always so RUDE! My husband was deployed and get to come home for Christmas & New year. One of the place he would like to eat is Steak Express. He asked me to order for pick up on new year night 1/1/2021. Again the Rude lady took our order. When we go to pick up the lady told us it’s not done yet, which is fine we can wait...she asked us the make of our car we told her. After awhile she took out the food to us, we told her thank you & left. We were just ready to get home with the kids it was cold. A few minutes after we left we get a call from there telling us they gave us the wrong food. So we went back to the drive thru to take the food back. We get, it’s human people made mistakes & have mad day. New year night my husband eat the burger that he order & have had food poisoned & throw up all night. He haven’t been able to stop throwing up & stomach have been hurting! His supposed to be flying back to work on the 3rd. It was a bad experience for him when that’s what he been craving just a burger from there. Will never go there again!

The food was great but here's why I am giving a one rating...service. Monday, my mom and I ordered the half priced burgers. She ordered one and I ordered two. The service took much longer than usual. It took about 15 minutes. Mom received her order but I didn't receive mine. My order took another 15-20 minutes. Usually they offer you drinks while you wait..not this time. I think they forgot to put in my order. So finally, I received my order and only then did we get drinks. They apologized but I still felt disappointed. I sent them a message soon as I got home via Facebook Messenger. No response!

The Food is Great and Fairly Priced. Unfortunately the Service does not match the Food. The person who charged my card charged an incorrect amount. They called back and said they would put the money back on my card and then recharge me the correct amount. All they had to do was add the extra few dollars on another ticket. Instead they double charged and told me I would have to wait a few day's to get my money back on the card. A week later no money. I like the food, but not enough to put up with this bull. No more Steak express for me:)

Pretty disappointed. Ordered delivery for lunch and the meat was not seasoned and overcooked. No salt, pepper, or silverware was included. Unsweet tea was the sweetest tea I've ever had. Only one small container if butter for both my potato and roll. One of the most disappointing delivery experiences ever.

Last two times i have ordered here my steak has been over cooked order rare to med rare and get well done also when i called to order the lady on the phone calls me ma'am and the other employees are laughing in the background even when i corrected her nicely that i am clearly a male. Between the poor service and overcooked food $30 a person ill go elsewhere from now on.

Where do we start well let me start with when I arrived I had no idea it was carry out only as I approach the door some guy ( that I can only assume was a delivery driver since he has a uniform shirt on) yells at is that it's only drive through or delivery so we get back in the truck and attempt to go around the building well he's parked in the drving lane of the parking lot refuses to move we sit there for like two minutes so we finally go around him. When we get to the window the guy working it was pretty rude him self the whole experience was unpleasant but one of my guys wanted it and I will suffer through just about anything to keep one of my crew members Happy! Now onto the food I ordered a sirloin Rare first off there was nothing rare about it it was still straight up raw they literally slid it across the grill long enough for the outside to change color that's it and it was so tough I couldn't even cut it with a good sharp pocket knife also combined with the fact that I have had hamburger patties bigger than this steak it was just an all around disappointing experience I won't be back and I encourage others not to go here either!

Forgot some of my food after having 1 hour to prepare and deliver. I call to let them know that I am missing my food: 40 minutes go by with still no food. I speak with the manager at the time just for him to say the food is on it's way. Manager acted like he didn't care that a customer's food was taking as long as it did and had no remorse for the mistake his store made. On top of that, my wife's food was over-cooked. Not a great experience. I'd call to tell the manager, but they wouldn't care. It's a shame these people don't take pride like other steak expresses do in different cities.

Ordered dinner for myself and the family tonight. After about $100 total and over an hour wait time (it’s cool we knew the price and how long it would take) when we finally got it we were only missing almost half our order and when we called the business to get it cleared up they wanted to know if we wanted it or to put it on our next order?? Um, hello if we didn’t want it we probably wouldn’t have ordered it. Then when asked how long it would take “it’ll go out with our next delivery” mind you NO apologies were given!! Then told it would be faster if we came and got it. Right there I should have been offered my delivery fee back AT LEAST! And again, when we went and picked up our missing items NO APOLOGIES GIVEN! Will never order from this establishment again.

Placed order for lunch/dinner at 3:36. Received delivery at 4:28, family pack four burgers with dessert . Food quality was not up to par. All burgers were completely burnt. Called store back and ask for new burgers 30 min later still no food. Third phone call to store ask for a refund. A GM said food was on way that was a lie also. Delivery driver came to pick up food at 5:30 explained to me that my food was on it's way. Won't be ordering from you guys for a while. Poor customer service!!! Must have new ownership or management that really doesn't care.

When you order for delivery make sure you have at least 2 hours to wait, even though they say the waiting time is 50 minutes. Don't bother calling about your order, you'll get some rude worker on the other end telling you that your wrong. Then, when you finally get your food, better have a microwave to heat it up!!!

Got a steak, nothing but fat. Ordered a $60 meal for my wife and I and this is what I got. Luckily my salad was good.

The man that delivered food today for someone at my work needs to learn patience. He was a tall man with a beard and had a blue shirt on was a very rude man. He needs to learn patience and wait when someone is busy with something. When told him to give me a second, he huffed and puffed and walked over and throw the food over where there was no one. Plus our windows at my job don’t open. That was very disrespectful and rude.

So my daughter and son-in-law just went up there to pick my food up for me and the man at the window was VERY rude to them. And since when do you NOT get a free sweet tea with your meal if it's carryout??? Just rude!

I went through the drive-through ordered steak tips. They asked me to pull aside after waiting 15 minutes and watching people behind me receive their order then waited another 10 minutes decided to call and they kept putting me on hold. I eventually had to walk in and ask, did you guys forget about me. All she said is that they had to remake the order no apology. So we all ordered today spent well over $80 and the steak sandwich was so tough and mostly grisle couldn’t even eat it. When they finally got the order to us it was over an hour. Then they forgot to give the salad dressing. DO BETTER CUZ THIS TIME IT SUCKED!!!!!

1st time ordering from here. I was VERY disappointed. The med rare steak was dry/ tough & flavorless. Our loaded potatoes came with NOTHING. All we had was salt and pepper packages. Maybe today they was off but it was 1st and last time.

Will never order here again Took two and a half hours before I called to cancel the order, the manager promised me a discount attached to my phone number next time I called I call again and ask about the discount and it was never credited to my account and the manager on duty was very rude and treated me like I was running a scam I’m sure the food is good for their price but between hours for delivery and rude managers I never got to try and never will

Our family will not return. Peach cobbler crust was BURNT. We asked for a replacement and the general manager says no just offered a discount. This happened 7/4, we took pictures, threw it out. It’s only been 1.5 days so no reason they couldn’t replace. But we certainly don’t want to return after they upped the prices and burned the food then refused to correct their mistake. So why give us a discount?

I ordered Filet mignon and recieved this ny strip instead,i called to inform your staff that this is what i recieved and the manager kept saying he hasn't cooked any ny strip today and argued with me that this was filet mignon,that this is how their filet mignon looked which is bs. I paid more for a filet but got cheaper steak. You've lost customers.

Unfortunately, this particular experience was horrible. I will not be ordering from steak Xpress ever again. I always order my mom a dinner for her birthday here, especially since she can’t get out of the house right now. This was our first time ordering salmon. It was so over seasoned and SALTY that she cannot eat it, even after trying to remove the seasoning. I called back and spoke to a so called manager. He didn’t seem very empathetic at all. He did offer a small discount or to remake and give back the old salmon-and after expressing further frustration, then he gave me a bit more of a discount. I had no problem whatsoever returning the uneaten salmon. However, I feel they should’ve taken much more accountability, and refunded my full order minus the drinks of course. Because of this bad experience, I will never ever ever order again and I will make sure that I tell all of my family and friends not to. Your staff, MANAGEMENT ESPECIALLY should have empathy, especially for customers that are return customers and because of your higher prices. I live out of town and I could choose anywhere to spend my money; you are not the only establishment in Abilene Texas. Do better Steak Express! Take accountability and have empathy. Treat people as you would like to be treated.

I work at the front desk at a hotel here in Abilene. I referred the business to a guest. We are going on a 2 hour wait time after he was told 1 hour. To go with that we have called your establishment numerous times only to review no answer. I enjoy the food but this service is very poor

I was coming here every day and then I noticed that the quality went down hill fast and I think it’s the employees they have messing peoples orders up on purpose. This is the only place I have ever been where I ordered steak bites and it was all hard griddle fat chunks. Had to be on purpose. I went from leaving a good review and eating here daily to never coming back and warning the rest of Abilene about this place.

Food was so tough could not chew it , my wife steak was supposed to be medium it cremated. My steak tips had a good taste but I couldn't chew it. Like eating rubber ...... I took pictures in case you want to see them

Ordered Steak Express for dinner tonight. Usually don’t have a problem with them. Tonight though was a mess. 1-we told them to bring change for a $100- they didn’t 2-our oldest ordered a grilled chicken sandwich-the put the cheese on the bun(which was fine) then they put the bun on top of the chicken-the cheese melted and then cooled by the time it arrived glueing the bun together-he had to use sliced bread 3-lo ordered the kids chicken nuggets and only received 3 nuggets 4-hubs cheeseburger was dry and the patty had fallen apart by the time we received it. 5-I ordered a loaded baked potato-only received a potato, zero toppings or butter When we called and talked to the manager we were told, “we can send you out another bun for the chicken sandwich”. It takes an hr to get things delivered from them. The chicken would be cold by then. Then they proceeded to tell us that the topping for the potato were in the bag and we just weren’t looking. We had the bag dumped out on the table spread out. They don’t even address the other issues. Very disappointed
