We had an incredible meal here today! The food was absolutely excellent—the empanadas were the perfect starter, and the Bandeja Paisa was authentic, hearty, and delicious. To wash it all down, the maracuyá juice was fresh and hit the exact right tropical note. Beyond the food, the service was top-notch. Our waitress, Chiki, was wonderful and made sure we had everything we needed with a great attitude. Highly recommend this spot if you are looking for great flavors and a welcoming atmosphere!
A friend took me here for the first time and it did not disappoint! The service was great and food was delicious. Our server was Alejandra & she was very attentive and great. Definitely coming back to try more.
I really love the food at Las Palmas. I’ve tried different dishes and they’ve all seemed great. I’ve eaten at the restaurant and I’ve also ordered food to go. The service has always been friendly and helpful. I’m glad I live in Addison so I can visit sometimes.
Absolutely delicious food! The Sancocho was the standout - rich, hearty, and left me feeling energized and satisfied. The flavors took me straight to Colombia. What truly made the experience special was the spectacular service from Andrea, her warm attention and care made the whole atmosphere feel welcoming and vibrant. A must-visit spot for comfort food and genuine hospitality!
Katerine took my order and was very hospitable. She made a good recommendation on the juice I ordered too. The food came out in timely manner and tastes great. I will say it's best to order the pandebono the during morning time lol. The atmosphere is nice as well definitely feel like I stepped into a piece of Colombia.
Came here last night and can't stop thinking about this place. What an amazing restaurant! The price of food, atmosphere, service, music and energy was fantastic here. As a Colombian myself, I approve! Will be coming back here again soon. You will not be disappointed with the food and or experience here. Great for a quick lunch or a dinner with the family. 10/10!
Let’s get the negatives out of the way .. Service was not attentive at all which is what happens when you automatically add a gratuity !!!! Tips are earned . T to I insure P proper S service … we had to ask several times for our first drinks as well as coffee … never checked to make sure everything came out correctly … The Positive was the food …. AMAZING !!! Flavorful and Plentiful … most dishes could be shared .. Drinks were refreshing and authentic ….
The servers were very knowledgeable and took their time to explain the more exotic dishes. The atmosphere was great for casual lunch. Food came prompt, and was well prepared. Very pleasant experience. i recommend you try out their in-house juices. We had the horchata and the passion fruit and were delicious.
Service is friendly. Music playlist was nice. Menu Prices are overexaggerated particularly $17.99 for 2 chicken legs, meh. I can eat at 17.99 elsewhere like Fogo de Chao, all you can eat, market table. $20.99 for cheap tilapia? Nah. Absolutely not! And EYES on your bill, they charge you 20-25% tip at time of pay with a party of 2🤣And the waitress did NOT tell me, I caught on it. I requested it to be removed as I tip accordingly to the service i received. Dishonesty at its best🫣
Although I enjoyed the food, I was uncomfortable with a lot of things once I got there one hour before they closed. I walked into the restaurant and noticed that they were cleaning the floors. They suggested that I sit at a table as they had already organized half of the restaurant, which I was fine with, but the place smelled terrible. The restroom is right in front of the dining area, and the scent coming from it made the entire restaurant seem like someone was really sick. I felt nauseous due to the lack of ventilation and the strong smell, but I stayed because I was so hungry. They add in the 18% gratuity in the total. Additionally, they suggest giving more tips, and I don't like that because if someone doesn't read the receipt, end up confused giving tips twice. My waitress charged us the incorrect amount and brought us the order for another table because she was super distracted. They have excellent Colombian food and snacks. However, they struggle with organization and service. .
Today I went to Las Palmas Restaurant, and the service was awful. The restaurant was empty, there were three waitresses and none of them came to our table. When one finally showed up, she had a bad attitude and was very slow doing everything. My friend asked for a to-go box, and instead of bringing it, she went off to do a thousand other things. She even started recording videos — you could clearly see she was filming. She also kept going to the bathroom every five minutes. Then she went outside to her car for who knows what. She came back later and then finally brought the to-go box to my friend.🙄 Everything was extremely slow. The service was terrible, truly terrible. On top of that, they automatically added an 18% gratuity. As far as I understand, that is usually only done for parties of six or more. We were only four people and she still added the 18% tip on her own. No bueno 👎🏼👎🏼
My experience at this restaurant was extremely disappointing. We arrived as a group of four, and the restaurant was completely empty. It was our first time visiting — and unfortunately, it will also be our last. From the moment we arrived, the waitress had a very unfriendly and unwelcoming attitude. After taking our order, she disappeared, and another young woman ended up assisting us instead. When we asked for the check, it took an unusually long time to arrive, even though the restaurant was still empty. When we finally received it, we noticed that the waitress had automatically added an 18% gratuity. I asked her why, since we were only four people, and she said it was because the bill was split between four guests. This explanation is unacceptable. I normally tip at least 20% when I receive good service, but tipping should be based on the quality of service provided. A tip is earned through professionalism, kindness, and respect — not automatically added without consent, especially after such poor service. Overall, the lack of hospitality, professionalism, and transparency made this a very unpleasant experience. i wouldn't never recommend this place.
Today was my first time at this restaurant, but unfortunately I did not have a good experience. To begin with, the waitress was not very friendly, and all the others were extremely distracted. In this place, no one pays attention to whether the customer needs anything. We asked about beer because we were planning to stay there for a while, but the waitress told us that this place didn’t sell any beer. A moment later, we saw them bringing a bucket of beer to another table. And lastly, when we asked for the check, we had to ask four times because it seemed that all the girls we asked kept forgetting. Overall, the food was good, but the customer service was terrible.
Me and my husband drove there yesterday from Fort Worth looking for a good experience and great food but unfortunately everything went wrong. Our waitress from the beginning was not the friendliest and she seemed to not wanted to be there yesterday! I knew after she took our order that something was going to be wrong because she didn’t pay much attention to what we were saying. After about 25 mins my husband’s order came out (missing the side order of lentils soup he ordered), the girl who brought four to the table (different than our waitress) brought right after a bandeja pausa that I thought it was mine to the lady on the table next to us who also was barely just getting there and my food was still not out. My husband finished his plate, no food for me or his side of soup. I wasn’t happy at all and after prob 30 mins a different girl than the second brought my food and apologized for the late. I didn’t know if I was more irritated about the lack of costumer service or or for the inappropriate outfit she was wearing! All of the girls just getting there fir the second shift were wearing the same horrible blue thing that I don’t even know how you call something like that! The whole back was opened and her Brazilian thong was showing out (yes, that’s how bad it was) I have never been in a restaurant that’s it’s supposed to be family - kids friendly ambiance with employees dress like that! It was very disturbing and uncomfortable. There were a few tables with children and teenagers! If I was one of those parents I would have left with my children immediately. The music was loud and also inappropriate (dirty reggaeton ) horrible lyrics! I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone specifically to a family with children or teens. Food was just average, the ground beef in my bandeja was not good! I have never had one like that. Manager or owner was there sitting in a table with another guy and never mind to look around to see what was going on.
This place was not good for the 3 people. The food was not good everyone did not finish their food because of the roaches on the wall and flies flying around our food. Waiting staff wasn't a good staff didn't come to the table to make sure everything was ok. Drink are too expensive water should be free we had to paid for bottles of water which is not good you should have better prices
Ordered "morcilla with arepas" and "chicharron with arepas." To be safe, specified "Gluten Free" The items arrived without the arepas. I called to ask why, and they confirmed the arepas are gluten free, but said the "gluten free" comment confused the server. So they didn't send them. But, they sent the morcillas and chicharrones. They refused to deliver the arepas, refused a refund, and offered a "credit" on future purchases. Never again.
This is usually my go to Colombian food place however, they now have been blacklisted for me. I walked in last night at 9:40 to make a single to-go order. When i walked in there were 5-6 tables with customers sitting and eating still. I walked to the counter and was “greeted” with an eye roll and attitude. I asked if it was too late (closing was in 20 mins) to place a to go order. Immediately was told a sharp YES, it’s too late. I bet they want to clean the kitchen and may already have done that however, their posted hours are UNTIL 10pm. If employees want to be able to lock and walk out the door by 10 pm then they should change their hours of operation. The staff was very clearly going to be there past 10 already with the customers they still had in the restaurant. On top of that, the disgusting attitude that was given to me was unacceptable. You can’t work in customer service and then treat people so poorly AND be successful. Typically I don’t make a huge deal out of things but because I frequent and recommend this business, it’s been living rent free in my head all day so I needed to let the community know how Las Palmas treats the people who pay their bills. Keep your money in your wallet and find a different place to support.
I went to this Colombian restaurant last Sunday, and while the food tasted authentic and flavorful, the service was absolutely unacceptable. The waitresses were rude, unprofessional, and downright unpleasant. From the moment we walked in, their faces made it clear they didn’t want to be there. They never once checked in to see if we needed anything, and when we tried to get their attention, they acted annoyed and gave us looks of disgust. It felt less like dining out and more like we were bothering them by simply existing at their tables. On top of that, they automatically added an 18% gratuity to our bill, even though we were only a party of four. That explains everything—the staff doesn’t have to earn their tips, so they don’t bother giving decent service. They already know it’s forced onto your check whether you like it or not. This place might serve decent Colombian food, but the toxic attitude and shameless money-grabbing practice make it a restaurant I would never recommend. Unless you enjoy paying to be mistreated, do yourself a favor and stay away.
Las Pamas on Beltline in Addison TX: If you are white or any other race besides being Latino, this place is not for you. The waitress are so mean and will look at you like you should not be there. Very rude and hostile environment. They also add tip automatically to the bill, the food is overpriced and not that good. It is very hot as well, they only have fun’s running. El Portal in Carrollton has better food and service at reasonable prices. You have been warned!
