I am a regular customer and every time I order my food tastes amazing and everything is Halal also fresh. As a Uyghur, I highly recommend this restaurant hopefully their business will go well in the future.

Instant new favorite. The location is a bit disorienting, but the decor and table settings are charmingly traditional. For the food, the spices were delicious without being overwhelming, generous portions of both lamb and vegetables and the noodles were very fresh and perfectly cooked. Highly recommend and definitely will be back to try the rest of the menu and delicious teas.

This is truly an amazing place! Everything was nice and flavorful! Really loved the lamb skewer! If you are in the Flushing area and looking for a place to eat, this is definitely worth a try!

Great food and this time in an area closer to downtown Flushing. Its also more spacious too and dont have to talk too loud over each other. The go to dishes like the lamb polo skewer and big plate chicken were great. Also got to try the fried eggplant which is something new on the menu. It was zesty with a little kick and we easily cleared the plate

New Nurlan Uyghur Restaurant is a hidden gem! We tried their Big Plate Chicken and Mushroom Meat Laghman with beef—both were absolutely delicious, packed with rich flavors and perfectly cooked. The noodles were fresh and the portions were generous. The service was friendly and attentive, making the experience even better. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to enjoy authentic Uyghur cuisine!

The dishes we ordered were lamb platter, spicy lagman and manta. All were delicious. Price is on the higher end compared to other uyghur places in the proximity. Little to non customer service provided so the 5 stars are based on food only.

Enjoyed the 2 main dishes we ordered and the lamb skewers. Nan Qordag (Mutton Stew over Nan flatbread) was delicious. We really enjoyed the Eggplant Meat Laghman (茄子拉麵), chewy tasty noodles and wonderful tasting eggplant bites with mutton slices. Small comfortable restaurant in the lower floor of the Best Western hotel. We will be back to try more of the menu.

I wasn't expecting this to taste amazing. It's located in the hotel. My wife's hometown is Yinchaun. If you ever went it's known for their lamb. This spot is the closest thing you can get for authentic lamb. It's amazing.

I live in Taipei and eat a lot of chinese-style food. I have to say that the food at this place is absolutely amazing. I got the beef eggplant with rice and the lamb skewers. Both of them full of flavors. Portion is big. For the muslim brothers, this place states that it is halal 👍

Food was fantastic and very authentic. Beef Kawap and Big Plate Chicken were really delicious and highly recommended!! This restaurant is a bit pricey, but the portion of each dish is huge and worth the price. Nice homy decor and friendly staff!

The best grilled lamb kawap and eggplant meat laghman in all of New York, and the only lamb polo I’ve found that suits my taste (without raisins).

Nurlan is a really good restaurant by queens botanical garden on main street. Is new nurlan as good? Definitely met and exceeded expectations. It has the same authentic food but with a bigger menu and a change in venue. It is located inside the best western hotel and has a nice decor. The food is going to be on the spicier side, even the dishes that aren't labeled as "spicy" will have some kick to it. Not as hot as szechuan but be careful if you're not good with spice. Some of the standouts are the noodles and the eggplant. The eggplant was exceptionally good and prepared in an interesting way that made the final product flavorful and have a meaty texture. I want to say it was dessicated first and then seasoned but I definitely want to try more of this kind of style for eggplant preparation. The laghman noodles are pretty much lamein noodles, hand pulled noodles. They have great texture and go well with broth and the meat. They taste fresh and are really filling. The spicy fish was very tasty and cooked well. The spice builds up after a while but it's a good dish. The only thing I would say wasn't the best was the nan. It's not like indian naan like the name would suggest. The bread is very hard and tough and I would recommend getting rice or noodles instead. The meat pies, the gosh nan, are good but the rest of the menu was stronger. Worth a try as a table appetizer if you're hungry with a group though. Overall, it's a unique restaurant in flushing with amazing Xinjiang chinese uighur food that's definitely worth trying out.

Pretty good food, especially the beef with onions and tomatoes. It was very fresh and the seasoning was great. Very decent service. Unfortunately, the children helping the cook and the waiters there kept fighting over some item(maybe a phone) and they were loud. Very good overall.

The food is amazing here!! Our goto place for Uyghur food. They have the top quality lamb - we ordered lamb kewap, lamb polo, steamed bbq and we love each of them. Highly recommend

The chicken polo is absolutely divine. The rice is bursting with flavor and the chicken is perfectly crispy. I would definitely come back and try the lamb version too.

It is my first time here to enjoy the Uyghur cuisine. I am huge fan of Uyghur food. And whether the taste of food or the dinning atmosphere are the best I have been experienced. A fantastic place to take a try! Thank you for bringing me a good dinning experience!

I am a huge fan of Uyghur cuisine and this is top tier even in Xinjiang, China. Super thrilled that the beloved Nurlan has not disappeared but just moved to a new location. Definitely one of my favorite spots in the city.

Let me first say, this place was hard to find when first visiting. It's in a hotel, lower level. I've been to this place twice, they are consistent with their food and service. Friendly service and delicious food. Very authentic and hearty. Portions are big ans shareable. Everytime I got to flushing, I'm always in the mood for Uyghur food, and it always hits the spot. Pricing is great too. Definitely check them out.

Recommend the ding ding noodles and the big plate chicken. Food was flavorful and slightly numbing — nice halal option in flushing when you’re craving noodles. Will need to come back for the baked meat buns and kebabs

This is a really delicious Xinjiang restaurant. It is located in the basement of a hotel. The space is small but beautifully decorated, filled with authentic Xinjiang touches. The atmosphere is cozy and warm, with patterned carpets, copper teapots, and a few traditional ornaments that make it feel inviting. There were four of us that day. We had just finished a long hike and were tired and very hungry. We ordered a medium Big Plate Chicken, five Lamb Kawaps (skewers), four Meat Samsas, and one Lamb Polo (rice). The Big Plate Chicken was very tender and flavorful. The sauce was rich and spicy, maybe a bit too spicy for me. I drank around seven or eight cups of water during the meal, but that also showed how tasty it was. The handmade noodles served with the chicken were perfectly chewy and absorbed the sauce beautifully. If it had been slightly less spicy, it would have been perfect. The Onion Meat Samsa was one of the dishes I looked forward to the most. It did not look exactly like what I expected. Instead of a round shape, it was more like a quarter circle. Every chef has their own way of making it, so that was not a problem at all. The taste was amazing. The filling was juicy and flavorful. The lamb had no strong smell, and the onion added a sweet and aromatic note. One of my friends ordered the Squash Meat Samsa, and they said it was also delicious. The Lamb Kawaps and Lamb Polo were both classic and satisfying. The skewers were grilled to perfection, smoky on the outside and juicy inside. The Lamb Polo had a nice flavor, although I felt the lamb might have been steamed separately instead of cooked together with the rice, so it missed a little of that deep, combined aroma. Even so, it was still tasty and enjoyable. Overall, this restaurant is definitely worth visiting, especially if you enjoy Xinjiang cuisine. If you are not good with spicy food, it is a good idea to tell the staff to make it milder. The dishes here taste homemade but rich in authentic flavor, a great place to enjoy a hearty meal after a long day.

The restaurant is located on the lower level of Best Western. The Lamb Laghman was tasty although it was somewhat difficult to eat with chopsticks. Nonetheless I enjoyed the flavors and the texture and mouthfeel of the thick noodles.

Wow I’ve had a lot of lamb noodles and this place ranks up there as #2! Sauce was on point and very flavorful. Lamb kabobs were flavorful and tender, unlike other places. All the other dishes were great too. I will definitely come back!!

Came with my daughter and wanted to eat the usual as it was my third time coming. Showed a picture that I thought was from New Nurlan at first because I coudn't remember which dish it was. I thought it was a chain and related to the other one near Queens Botanical Gardens. The owner said it's a different place so I looked for other pictures and showed him another, which was this correct place. He still looked at it and said it's not this place because he was linking it to the other restaurant and takeout containers can look the same. I called him back to show the photo of the receipt (clearly states name and address of place) and of the wide doors with my kids from last year. After looking at it carefully, he understood he made a mistake for the second picture. Silently, he must have felt bad. He took care of us well after. The food was good as usual, if not, even better than the last time. My daughter enjoyed the food for the first time actually at the place. First visit was with friend and second was takeout. She finished everything even though her mouth was burning from the additional spice. The skewers here are the best. The way she scraped her plate explains everything. Originally she wanted to eat her favorite xi'an noodles but I wanted her to try this place in person. She was so grumpy on the way here but ended up loving it. I won't take away stars for the cold attitude since I offended the owner/server in the beginning. Loving this food won't change. Oh and my daughter loves spicy so she added extra spicy chili oil.

As someone who was born and raised in Xinjiang, I have to say this is the most authentic Xinjiang food I've had outside of Xinjiang. The familiar and comforting soul of Xinjiang cuisine is well replicated. The price is also very reasonable.

It was my 3rd time coming. Came with my 9 year old this time. The skewers are sooooo good. Love the spices on there. Asked for extra spicy but not spicy enough for me as usual. I like to come here from Long Island just for the skewers and order the same stir fried noodles every time. The spicy chili oil on the side added a nice kick to everything. My daughter enjoyed everything~ Wish they had a place like this in Long Island. I'll try something else on the menu next time.. maybe.

This restaurant is tucked away in the basement, accessible through a small entrance that’s easy to miss—but it truly proves the saying that "good wine needs no bush." Their Xinjiang cuisine is absolutely delicious, with generous portions and no real flaws to speak of. The decor, featuring many cultural elements from Xinjiang, adds to the immersive dining experience. The only area for improvement is the service: with just one person handling payments, service, and sometimes even food delivery, it can occasionally feel a bit slow or impersonal. Still, I hope they continue to maintain their outstanding food quality, and with some enhancements to service, more people will discover and enjoy this hidden gem.

We truly loved the food. The lamb was the highlight, exceptionally tender and incredibly fresh. It was rich yet clean in flavor, with a melt-in-your-mouth texture that showed great care in both sourcing and preparation. While the service could be improved, as it was a bit slow and seemed understaffed, it did not take away from the overall experience. The quality of the food more than makes up for the wait, and it is absolutely worth it.

Was getting hot pot with friends and one asked to stop in here afterwards to pick up kebabs for later. We each decided to try a bite and ended up eating the whole takeout order before we left the building. They are perplexingly juicy and flavorful. I've since been back loads of times. Really like the Big Plate Chicken/大盘鸡 and was surprised by how much I enjoyed the unassumingly plain-looking boiled lamb/手抓羊肉. Start with the kebabs and 大盘鸡 then work your way through the menu and see what clicks for you. It's all great.

First time at Nurlan and had a fantastic experience. The food was really good, and the staff were nice and friendly. The atmosphere was very authentic, with beautiful decorations. However, the restroom was not clean. Despite this, I will definitely come back again.

First time trying this location and I could immediately tell that the food here tastes much better than the food in the other Nurlan location across the Queens Botanical Garden. I ordered to-go and decided to go with light options as a majority of the menu consisted of heavy meat-based rice or noodles items. I also wanted to try multiple items as the other location had a limited menu. At this visit, I ordered an Onion Meat Samsa ($4.99), a Fried Leek Dumpling ($4.99), a skewer of Chicken Kawap ($4.99) and a skewer of Lamb Kawap ($4.99). Each and every item from my order tasted phenomenal! My favorite items were definitely the Onion Meat Samsa and the Chicken Kawap. I'd really say that if you want to grab a quick snack, then the Onion Meat Samsa needs to be the choice. The Fried Leek Dumpling IS NOT the kind of dumplings that you've had in the past (meaning those steamed and fried dumplings). You do have to be mindful that the Uyghur cuisine is very different from what the rest of China eats. If you're looking for something vegetarian, then the Fried Leek Dumpling has to be your go-to item. The Chicken Kawap is spicy and adds the perfect kick to my taste bud. Oh, and yeah, you need to order a minimum of two skewers. Something that I do need to mention is that the decor of the restaurant seems a little different from those usual fine dining restaurants. Sometimes, it may get eerily quiet, except for the commotion going on in the kitchen. I also think it's a family owned restaurant - the person who took my order and handed me my food was mostly working in the kitchen, and did not stay consistently at the front house, which seemed odd to me as this is a fine dining restaurant. They were kind though and had also packed my food very neatly. I'd definitely be back to taste more items from their menu.

First time trying Uyghur cuisine and it was fire. These folks really came through with some banger halal food. The restaurant is inside a Best Western hotel down in the basement. Only one person working the front and most of the tables were full. We took our order to go. This is a really unique cuisine you do not find everywhere. Portions were good and the flavors felt authentic, comforting, and satisfying. Lamb polo was solid. Tender lamb with carrots, not spicy, and great for kids. The steamed BBQ had similar meat to the lamb polo, served with corn and onions. Lamb and beef kawap were good, though personally a little heavy on the cumin for me. Laghman was simply great. Chewy hand pulled noodles with rich, spicy meat and veggies. Chili chicken was good. Sauteed beef with scallions was pretty good on its own, though I liked the other dishes more. Overall, really enjoyed this spot. Authentic Uyghur flavors, halal and something different from the usual. Definitely worth trying if you are in the area.

We love Uyghur food especially Lamb Polo. The polo here is the best I had in NYC. We also ordered the lamb soup which is good but a bit too salty, however the lamb is very tender and tasty. The lamb kawaps were very good, juicy and tasty, but the lamp chop was tough and tasteless which I don’t understand. Shouldn’t they be marinated the same way? We also ordered thin-skin steamed mantas, the onion and meat one is very good, but the squash meat one was lack of flavor. Next time I’ll stick with the onion meat ones. Overall, the food is very good, worth a trip.

Definitely a hidden gem I never hear about in Flushing. The food is spiced perfectly and very flavorful. The prices are reasonable with a large portion size. The atmosphere varies but it can get very packed during rush hours with long weight times. Spicy laghman noodles with lamb recommended!

7/10 - Asked them for fastest items since CSM was starting in 30 - Chicken pollo was an 8, Lamb fried rice was like a 6. Bit bland for my liking but it was tender - Got sick shortly after with the Norovirus, but my friends didnt get sick. So im not sure if its the restaurants fault. Customer service is super friendly though, straight to the point

Unfortunately, this was a very unpleasant dining experience, mainly due to the poor service. From the moment we walked in, there was no greeting or guidance at all. The restaurant was not busy, yet we had to seat ourselves, which already felt unwelcoming. Throughout the meal, the staff was cold and disengaged. The server was rarely present, showed no friendliness, and appeared only when serving other tables. When I asked questions about the menu, the response was impatient and dismissive. We were repeatedly rushed to place our order, and it felt like we were being discouraged from ordering additional dishes. There was no effort to explain the food or provide basic service. At the end of the meal, I tipped based on my actual dining experience, which I believe is reasonable and fair. However, this seemed to upset the server, making the situation even more uncomfortable. Tipping should reflect service quality, not be treated as an obligation. The food itself was acceptable, but not memorable, and certainly not worth enduring such poor service. If you are curious about the food, I would strongly recommend ordering pickup instead of dining in. I will not be returning.

This store has extremely poor customer service. The food did not look like the picture on the menu, and the chicken tasted old. We also had to ask for basic items because the server did not bring them to us. When we chose not to leave a tip, he confronted us and made disrespectful comments about our religion, even saying we were not Muslims because we didn’t tip him. Tipping should be based on the quality of service and is not mandatory. His behavior was unprofessional, inappropriate, and completely unacceptable. UPDATE: Whether you own the place or not is beside the point. We asked if tipping was mandatory, and your server could not clearly say that it was. If it truly is mandatory, it should be clearly stated beforehand. What cannot be justified under any circumstance is bringing our religion into the situation. There is no connection between tipping and someone’s faith. As the owner, it is your responsibility to address that behavior.

This dining experience felt very disappointing, mainly because we did not feel respected as customers. From start to finish, the service was unfriendly and indifferent. There was no sense of hospitality, and interactions with the staff felt cold and dismissive rather than welcoming. As a customer, it made the entire meal uncomfortable and unpleasant. The food itself was very average. It was not bad, but definitely not memorable or special. There are many better Xinjiang/Uyghur restaurants in the area, such as Urumqi Taste, which offer both better flavor and a more respectful dining experience. Compared to those options, this place does not stand out at all. Good food should come with at least basic courtesy and respect. Unfortunately, this restaurant failed to deliver either. Based on this experience, I would not return and would not recommend dining in.

To be honest, I’ve NEVER BEEN THOUGH a place with that WORST SERVICE EVER. When we tried to order food and ask questions, the waiter was focused on his phone and slowly walked to us, saying, " Can’t you read the menu?” The food was average to me, but my friends liked it. He never filled our water bottles or checked if we needed help. And then when we asked Pack to go and get the check, he only gave us one box and a bag without a check, if even enough to pack or even help. The MOST TERRIBLE part is that when we asked for the birthday cake we bought and saved in their fridge, the waiter even said, “You guys said check first, pay and sign first, I may help later.” I swear to god, we’ve never been through that KIND OF SERVICE ever, it’s my friend’s birthday. I feel extremely sorry for her to experience that. Guys, we’re the customers, we pay we serve ourselves and even get attitude from the waiter. Please think before you step it or plan to go.

Don't walk, RUN!!! Avoid this place at all costs. When we walked in, no one greeted us, offered menus, or served water even after we asked. The waitress was extremely impatient and dismissive, rushed us to order and then made my order wrong (welp). The skewers we ordered tasted off, and when we raised our concerns, the waitress responded with a very dismissive and confrontational attitude: "Nothing was wrong with our food, and if anything, it was your taste" and then just walked off. The overall experience felt hostile - and if you scroll down thru other reviews, you'll see how they just regularly attack those customers who disliked their food and service with insults (hello Google?). VERY DISTURBING. And yes, I'm sure mine will get one too - prove me wrong :)

Blaming on customers is the only thing this restaurant will do whenever you made a comment on their food. Even it does taste bad, he will not accept it. Okay fine, you guys are always right and hope your business will last forever with this attitude.

I’m really surprised at the reviews of this place. This was the most bland Uyghur food I’ve ever encountered. Custer service was non-existent. The male waiter was truly awful and made us feel uncomfortable. This was the first time my dinner guest tried Uyghur food and the waiter made every interaction negative. It wasn’t just us, other guests were trying to ask for a check but he was busy on his cell phone. I would never come here again and recommend you skipping it as well. The bathroom had a strange smell. The lamb polo /rice was really disappointing. The noodles lacked depth of taste and required a lot of extra chili pepper and salt. The decor was okay but if you prefer a dining experience where you are valued, try somewhere else. Lots of better halal options in the area. Also, you’ll struggle to find parking.
