We had a fun group dinner via Google hangout and a delicious meal from Kathmandu! We had a menu from the chef - chicken and lamb curries, dal, naan, momos and delicious sauces (tamarind, cilantro and hot sauce) and Kathmandu special! Thank you! We loved it.

Dining at Kathmandu Restaurant was a culinary experience I'll never forget. My meal, the Chicken Tikka, was a masterpiece of flavors, perfectly cooked and richly seasoned, making each bite a delight. Love the food. I came back down to Albany from Oregon to help my son. I have been eating dinner here almost every night. The Dal soup, Moo Ken is the best! It is slightly different each night as they make everything when you order it. The Chatamari is now my addiction. Do not miss the Chatamari. It comes with two sauces, mild and a bit spicy. Fantastic. I order chai without the milk as I need to avoid dairy and this is also very good. They are willing to make dishes without the dairy for you and are very flexible. I avoid wheat also, and there is plenty on the menu. Atmosphere is very unique and well done - it is up lifting. I will miss it when I go back up to Oregon. Don't have anything like it near home.

Great service, great traditional Nepalese food. Everything tasted as if someone's mom was cooking in the kitchen. I think the owner's wife was cooking everything in the back, made to order. Looking forward to my next visit!

This was my first time having Tibetan food. All of the food was homemade. The food was rich and flavorful. My friend and I ordered the momo, samosas, daal soup, naan, cinnamon lassi and banana lassi. Everything was delicious! The service was fantastic. I don't remember his name however, he was attentive and informative on the foods. The atmosphere and aesthetics of the restaurants were beautiful. I will definitely be back.

Great Place for an Exotic Spicy Treat. I've been going to Kathmandu since 2000. Good for a party of both vegetarians and meat eaters especially if the meat eaters like spicy lamb. The vegetarian items are all clearly marked on the menu which is great. The food is on the heavy side, so I need work out extra hard after eating there; but wow does it taste good! A family run place, I got a kick out of watching the kids grow up over the years. A tip if you need to stay up all night for your job: forget ordering extra shots at Starbucks -- instead order two pots of Chai with dinner; guaranteed to keep you awake all night. I regularly ate at this place when I was working at a "startup" tech company and needed to put in 18 hour days.

this is the wonderful place we take all our friends especially when we just return from Nepal to tell the stories. The food is excellent authentic fresh and homemade, incl. their rice beer and the family exudes the sweet home feeling of the Himalayas. We love you Kathmandu Restaurant!

Food was great. It has a very nice environment. A little pricey but completely reasonable for the quality. When I think pad thai I think a dry noodle dish, which doesn't sound appealing. Got the pad thai for $11 or so as it was one of the cheaper options. It was very well flavored. It looked a little oily but tasted perfect and fortunately not dry.

I look forward to eating here again! The only downside was they didn't have any bottles of red wine, just white.

Most of the soups and noodles are really good, but the barbecue paneer is disappointing (they have a plate of veggies with 1 piece of paneer). Super friendly wait staff, and the rest of the food was amazing. Clean location in a convenient venue as well - absolutely will visit again!

Great service. I ordered yak butter milk tea and what I was served tasted like back tea with a large chuck of salted butter melted in it. The feed didn't taste very fresh. That said the place is cozy and the environment feels authentic.

The joint was full of smoke, the dishes took 2 hours to arrive, the service was non-existent. It wasn't like there was 100 people in the place. It seems like a minimal decent experience should be achievable under the circumstances. Blah. We've been there a few times before and rooted for the place, but this was really bad.

They cheated us with their evil practices. They took our order and decided to tell us after delivering our food that they were out of rice. She did not even apologize. She expected us to eat our curry without the rice. It's ridiculous. We had to ask for roti afterwards and she did not even offer us any. This is definitely the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Now, I am Nepalese and they are also. She was paying more attention to the other group of customers than us as I noticed. I hated it. When we ordered our drink, she brought us the smaller portion even though we ordered the big one. Her excuse-"I can't reseal the big bottle after opening it." She tells me that the bigger and smaller portions cost the same. She charged me $15 dollars for those three smaller portions. We were planning to divide the bigger portions between each other, but she was trying to make extra money by charging us more. I am never returning to this place again. Food is not that great for their prices either. Be cautious, they have shady practices.
