Came here on a weekend trip. I seen it on TikTok and wanted to try it and when I say great food and service the food was so good. The portions were huge and the gentleman that served us our food was very polite and welcoming. I would definitely recommend stopping here if you’re in the area.

Second order & they don't miss!! Family run business with a great vibe. Every opportunity I get to be lazy I'm up in there because the food is ABSOLUTELY hitting!!! Great prices as well. I GUARANTEE you will Love the food & the prices!!!!!

Excellent Customer service we catered an event for NYPD for our Women's History Luncheon and it was beautiful and the food was sooooo good. Mike was the absolute best and got us everything we needed with very short notice we really appreciate him. I'm a customer for life.

Called before we came to see if they had food left because it was Easter Sunday afternoon. We came right after and was greeted by the entire family when we walked in. EVERYONE was courteous and friendly and it was nice seeing the family together supporting eachother. They insisted that we sit and enjoy our meal, so we did. Nakia took our order and was friendly and bubbly even though her name was being called every 5 seconds! I had to give her a big hug before we left. Customer service was 10 outta 10. Now the food...this was our second time here and we traveled here from the Bronx because the food was fresh and delicious! The portions are generous and worth every penny! I had the catfish, cabbage, and collard greens. We also had a side of yams and everything was seasoned to perfection. The fish was fried just right. I was beyond pleased with everything, and highly recommend this establishment. There was a food truck that they own outside the restaurant catch it if you can, you're sure to be happy with the cuisine. Fyi- parking on their block is tough be prepared to drive around if you plan to sit indoors. Also there is counter seating and a few two top tables to dine at inside. I'd call before coming if you're in a group of 3 or more.

Amazing experience. I have been following this place for years. So I absolutely had to come to their resteraunt. Their food truck is just as good. Love the hospitality. You have to try the lemonades (cucumber, strawberry or peach) and the banana pudding. The catfish is my favorite!

The welcome we received—Rebecca behind the counter, I believe—was warm, friendly, and truly inviting. The atmosphere felt like ladies’ night, fun and comfortable all at once. The food was absolutely amazing. I had the fried fish and chips, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. My niece went with the fried chicken, collard greens, and mac and cheese, and everything was a hit. And let me not forget the peach lemonade—not overly sweet, just right, and so good! If you’re ever in Brooklyn, definitely check this place out. You won’t be disappointed!

Nice spot, Ill have to visit in the summer when I want to sit and eat in. Tried the turkey wings, Mac n cheese and candied yams. Delicious. Ordered oxtail rasta pasta for a friend and tried it. Ill be ordering oxtails for sure. The gent in the restaurant was super gracious, the portions are plentiful as always (the plate were ny seconds from yesterday's meal (olives were mine)) and I am happy that I can visit them more often via the truck.

Phenomenal soul food in a tiny counter-serve spot by the projects. Best fried catfish I’ve ever had—crispy on the outside, succulent and tender on the inside, in generous portions. I’m not usually big on collard greens, but these were so savory I surprised myself how fast I made them disappear. Elegant decor, efficient but attentive service, authentic vibes.

We had a wonderful experience!! The fried Whiting was amazing and the half and half lemonade is delicious AND you get one free refill! The room itself is small , black&white space with a soda fountain type counter. The outdoor space is spacious with heaters and a big screen. A great black- owned establishment- we will be back indeed!!

This is by far my favorite place to eat! I typically eat from their food truck once a week along with my other coworkers from the post office. Once their post is made on IG I get on the speaker and say the fish truck is here… we love them! From cat fish sandwiches, catfish dinner with greens and mac (my favorite)…I always get catfish and have never been disappointed. I’ve tried their banana pudding and that was really good! But y’all I’ve had their turkey wings and Omgosh, FALL OFF THE BONE! They have really great food and lemonade and the price is right!

I ate so much I was uncomfortable 😮‍💨 my Husband and I had the fried chicken dinner and fried catfish with mac, yams, cabbage, and greens… the food was WELL seasoned! We had zero complaints. We took the subway and walked all the way from Times Square. It was worth it! We’ll be visiting every time we go to NYC. They even sent me on my way with a small dessert! Got catfish, shrimp, potato salad, mac and cheese platter. Catfish was breaded well, tasted delish, and the mac and cheese was seasoned well. Potato salad had a good amount of tartar sauce and combined well with the catfish. Take the time to drop by this place if you're in the area if you want some great fish and chips. It'll give you bang for your buck.

This was my first time dining at GG's but it won't be my last. The staff was friendly and attentive. The food was very well seasoned. My friends and I enjoyed the vibes, drinks, and delicious food. We loved the catfish nuggets and all the dipping sauces as well as the oxtails, mac n cheese, potato salad, collard greens, and rice and peas. We will be back!

They lose a star because the fries were trash. I got the the catfish combo. Really enjoyed the fried fish with the tarter sauce. Such a good combo. However… the fries were not fried and felt like it was microwaved or something. Limp fries with the oil from the catfish, everything kind of just got mushy. I did really enjoy the starberry lemonade. Looks watered down but it was not too sweet and just right. I’d come back and try again. Could have been a busy day since I grabbed food from their food truck on the upper East side.

Ordered catering for my mom’s birthday. Very nice people. Very accommodating. But the fish and greens had no flavor. Will try again another time as I believe they were just very busy.

Food is always good but sometimes the Cat fish is too salty. Either way I keep going back so I don’t mind. Sometimes I wish they could be a little nicer over the phone and smile a little more in person. Still my favorite place to eat.

The food I had today was so good. I had the mac and cheese fried chicken and collard greens. The fried chicken was seasoned very well, the mac and cheese was on point and the collard greens had me putting hot sauce on them lol that's how good they were. This place did not disappoint at all. I will be back!!!

I just recently moved from the south and in my opinion it’s a bit hard to find GOOD soul food out here, that’s actually ran by people with soul if you picking up what I’m putting down. My usual go to spot is Taste Of Heaven however they run out of sides fast and it leaves me with no soul food after a long day of work. I stumbled upon this spot after days of searching and reading reviews. This spot has good food with fast and nice customer service.

05/09/25 My first time because, somehow, I've always missed the truck. My husband and I managed to get to the restaurant and it was great. The service was friendly, the fish & grits (Mr. had salmon, I had catfish) and we got a sample of a cake. It was worth the drive.

The guy at the counter was very professional and outgoing having conversations with everyone that came into the building. I ordered two plates; one with fried whiting, Mac and cheese, with candy yams. the other plate was the honey glazed salmon with potato salad and collard greens. Anyone that knows me knows I'm a fatty lol so I had to grab the banana pudding as well. To get more into my review the food smelled really good and I enjoyed the flavor of the fish and some of the sides .. I want to be honest about my review the sides were not truly seasoned to my taste but the food was decent to me I would possibly order other sides the next time I go just because the main portion was not bad at all and had wonderful flavor speaking of the fried fish. My friend stated the salmon and the collard greens were really good but the potato salad was not to his liking. Now let's speak about portions. The amount of food they give in these plates will have you in a sleep coma. The portions were definitely worth it for the price I paid for two plates and two drinks with dessert $64. The food was hot it wasn't like I order $64 worth of food and received a cold plate. Please give these guys a try and find your faves. I do plan to go back for the fish and to try other sides! OVER ALL WORTH IT!!

I was extremely hungry, saw the food truck and picked up some lunch. Honestly, I've tasted better. The food was palatable but nothing spectacular. I had fried shrimp and fries. Definitely not worth $19. Once was enough for me. I don't think I'll be a repeat customer. If I see the food truck again I'll keep walking.

Used the truck on Jay Street. Didn't want to argue with the guy but just be aware he handles money and food with the same gloves. Money wasted at this point but lesson learned.

Home base of the Establishment has nice modern decor .. Old school music selection but not best seating. Customer service is not welcoming as a light skin women was irrate and combative.( bad day maybe) I Order chicken and fries $13 & Change .. I am submitting this complaint to report serious concerns about the food handling and sanitation practices at GG’s Fish & Chips. Based on what I personally observed, there appear to be questionable food storage and handling practices that could potentially put customers at risk. Food safety should be a top priority for any restaurant, and what I witnessed raises concerns about whether proper health and sanitation standards are being followed. In addition to these food safety concerns, the behavior of staff and management toward customers was extremely unprofessional. When questions or concerns were raised, the response came across as dismissive and intimidating rather than responsible and transparent. This kind of conduct only adds to the concern about how the establishment is being operated. Restaurants that serve the public have an obligation to maintain clean facilities, follow proper food safety procedures, and treat customers with professionalism. I believe this location should be reviewed to ensure that all health codes and food safety standards are being properly followed. I respectfully request that the appropriate department investigate this matter to ensure the safety and well-being of the public.
