Small, cute place with convenient store attached just like in Mexico. Michelada grande is huge! Good service & quick.
Best Mexican food I've had in North DFW. I recommend the al pastor con piña tacos or burrito.
Great food. This is family and I go to spot for some authentic Mexican food and we've been coming for years. Recommend: Birria Tacos, Fajita Plate, Taco Plate, Gorditas, Tortas
Delicious, authentic food. I had the three taco plate worth two barbacoa and one carnitas tacos along with rice and beans. Delicious.
Awesome fast service with all the food favorites. I ordered biotechnology, papa and refried bean taco. It was perfect. Had to go order chicken quedadillas. The best! If you want real food that tastes homemade, head over. Guarantee definitely a favorite
The best authentic Mexican food you will ever find. A hidden gem that I was introduced to within my first year in Denton. Forget Tex-Mex! This is the real deal. A lot of interesting meats to choose from (I'm sure they are great I'm just not a big meat eater!), but my favorite are the cactus (nopales) tacos! Gorditas are amazing! Seems most customers are Mexican (good sign!), but they have never rolled their eyes at the gringo trying to sprinkle in whatever Spanish I can muster :) And if you get a couple tacos it will satisfy your stomach and your wallet far more than fast food junk!
Came in with our Taco Group and tried a good selection of tacos. The el pastor were my favorite. Each one is tried has great flavor and were just all around really good tacos. We also had to chips and salsa and I love salsa is served warm! Definitely worth the stop to try this place out!
I have popped in for a taco plate with rice and beans at a great price. The tortas very huge and filling. I have been here before but always failed to write a review. The tacos are good, I really enjoy the salsas. The salsa Verde is very savory. The place is a small mom and pop that's part of a little market.
Food is really good I had a shrimp cocktail and it was delicious the shrimp were fresh I got a small size too small for me so definitely getting the large one next time, my bf got 4 gorditas de chicharrón they were bigger size than what we get in other places, the michelada is delicious! Service is great, it’s sharing the place with a gas station so if you wanna get a different drink u can just go get it, small but enough tables. If you want real authentic Mexican food this is the place.
Always amazing tacos and salsa is homemade. Service is quick and they do take out orders over the phone. I love getting their al pastor tacos with a Mexican coke and my boyfriend gets their tortas. Seating is tight during peak hours since it shares space with a convenience store. Always great food, highly recommend for good tacos/Mexican food in Denton.
We ordered de Torta Texana w/fries and the chicken quesadilla plate. The price did not reflect the quality - you don’t get a lot of food and it was just okay. As you can tell by the pictures, they weren’t very generous with the meat on the torta, or the rice and beans with the chicken quesadilla. The torta was $10.99, the fries $4.99, and the quesadilla plate $11.99. They also charge a card fee. We did order the food to go so it’s possible that impacted the size of the rice and beans. Not sure. I would say overall… we would rate it a 7/10.
Good, but 3 tiny tacos and a drink for $14 is a little too pricey to me .
I've been a loyal customer for over 15 years. I've always loved their food and its seasoning, but it must be said that they don't put enough salsa anymore. Imagine six salsas for an order of over $120, more than 27 products, just to start. The sopes used to be soft and crunchy, but now they're so hard that kids can't even bite them. I don't know if they reheat them to sell them, but it's ridiculous how hard they are. The Cuban tortas used to be juicy, but now they are so dry that even chewing them is difficult. I'm disappointed to see how their quality has declined over time. I hope the owners pay attention and dedicate themselves again, as they did in the beginning, to paying attention to the quality of their food.
I’m a big fan of Mom and Pop business so I always go in hoping to really enjoy my experience, unfortunately this time it was a miss . The atmosphere is great a taqueria connected to a convenience store Banda music blaring and a high energy in the kitchen . The wait was super long for 3 tacos ordered 1 large 2 small and they looked exactly the same in size .The flavor was lacking and had a bizarre after taste . I hope the best for them but it just didn’t cut it for me …. I’m from San Antonio Tx , I guess I’m just spoiled .
The menudo cost me $40 for two and it didn't even have hominy. For that price it should be great. At least this time it was served with lime not lemon. El Viejon Cocina right down the road will ask u if u want hominy and its only $16. The only reason I didn't go there was they were not open yet. Friendlier employees and great atmosphere. Will be my last time ordering menuda there.
To start off, my parents are from Mexico so I have high expectations when it comes to food such as tacos. I got some Al pastor and barbacoa tacos. I was highly disappointed. I was confused because the barbacoa tacos looked more like carne asada. It definitely didn’t taste like barbacoa. Al pastor were ok, i guess. Super greasy tacos. Definitely could use some work. Salsa was ok, definitely not spicy enough. Expensive!! i paid about $10 for 4 small tacos and 1 bottled soda. One tiny slice of lime for 4 tacos? What? $0.89 for 4 small pieces? Yikes. Edit: the al pastor tacos gave me bad heart burn lol that never happens
