One of my favorite spots in Austin for a drink with friends. The bartenders are some amazing folks who are personable and always provide great service. A great selection of beers, wells, and even nonalcoholic options! It’s always clean and a comfortable atmosphere in the late afternoons before it livens up at night. This is THE bar I will always recommend to friends and austin visitors.

Backlot is a true gem in the North campus area, just a quick stumble across Guadalupe from the renowned 37th Street Lights. The drinks are cold and well-priced and the staff are personable, in good spirits, and care about their customers. This is exemplified by the fact that after only a handful of visits, they already know my go-to order before I say anything. Everything from the atmosphere, layout, customer service, and drink offerings are earnest and appreciated by those who embibe there . If you live in the area, or are even just visiting, stop by and enjoy a drink with friends in a casual andwelcoming establishment.

Backlot is the quintessential local bar. On par with the greats like Crown and Anchor. Going by yourself or with friends, the comfort and fun you’ll experience has had me coming back throughout my time in Austin. Great place to meet new people or to just read a book and have a beer at an affordable price. A personal staple and a must try!

Great dive bar vibe and some of the best prices on beer. Not sure you can get meanwhile on tap for 5 bucks anywhere else. Bartenders were incredibly attentive and make you feel like a regular even though it was my first time here.

Bartenders are salt of the earth and an Estrella is 3 dollars. Cannot be beat. If you come in the winter time get a Hot Toddy and warm up. A cigarette on their patio makes a bad a good day and a good day a great day.

They have a list of local $3 draft beers all day everyday, a list of local and maybe imported $4 draft beers all day everyday, and I think some specialty cocktails. They're posted clearly on signs on the bar. Just look around and you'll find an excellent deal. Location is pretty good and you can park on the street and they have a tiny parking lot. It's right across the street from It's right across the street from 37th, in a cute neighborhood. This is University area so there are some young folks that go in there, but the age range is widely mixed. They also have an outdoor patio kind of on two sides. And a food truck with some pretty dank tacos.

The bar itself is cool, but the Spanish-speaking guy in the food truck overcharged me both times I bought food there. The first time, he ‘didn’t have change’. The second time, he tried to charge me $14 instead of $12. When I noticed, he had the audacity to try to charge me $13. These sums aren’t too big; it's just a disgusting behavior

Watch out for the guy at the food truck with the gold front teeth. He verbally harassed us in Spanish and tried to defend himself by saying he was surprised we could speak Spanish. Who else does he harass just because they can’t respond?
