I love coming to Glen's when I can. I came here for the first time with my ex-husband when I lived in Babylon with him, now I go with one of my friends who lives here when I visit. They are never a disappointment for breakfast. It used to be cash only but they take cards now. You will not regret coming here!
Out for breakfast with my boys. My older son suggested this place. I've driven past it many times. All I can say is wow. The food is incredible, service is personalized, and the atmosphere is like home. The Banana bread French toast was out of this world. ❤️
Love Glens, food is amazing. Staff is friendly and attentive. We had breakfast and had the Banana Nut French Toast… amazing. They have a Thanksgiving on a Roll that is great so definitely come for either breakfast or lunch back! Great addition to Babylon Village
I liked this place a lot didn’t order anything to crazy but a lot of breakfast options for everyone. Was very pleased with the food as well as the service. The inside is very comfortable. The prices are fantastic. I will be a return customer for sure.
I have been going to this diner since I was a little kid and the only thing better than the memories is the food. Everything is amazing and the portions are very generous. In addition to that it gives a meaning to tradition and a meaning to a community restaurant. When you mentions Glens for breakfast, everyone knows what you are talking about! Love love love this place. Would give it 6 stars if I could!
Have been coming here for many years. My absolute favorite brunch spot on the island. The roasted root vegetables and eggs benedict are my fav! Pancakes and juevos rancheros are amazing too! Mom and pop homey feel. Fast, friendly, and informative service. Prices are great too! Can't recommend enough times!
Small and busy at peak lunch hour, but the food is so good & there is so much charm here. Not at all your typical diner food. Everything tastes fresh and homemade. This place has been around forever and for good reason. I'm 4th generation Babylonian (now living on the North Shore), but my grandparents knew the owners and my mother and aunt knew their children. It's nice to see a long time establishment still thriving in a town where some things still come and go.
Food was excellent once again! Third time there and every single time it has been absolutely perfect. Food is steaming hot and cooked exactly how you ordered it. Best part, it tastes like homemade food! Very clean and staff is super friendly. I've past this place hundreds of times and sadly never tried til recently. All the delicious meals I've missed out on til now.
Our favorite for over 30+ years! Every time we come to Long Island from Florida to visit our old stomping grounds we put it on our "must do" list. Great staff and the blue monkey pancakes and cinnamon raisin French toast are our fan favorites!!
Staff and food are the best! Atmosphere is old school and 2nd to none. Everyone from customers to cooks are extremely friendly, can’t wait to visit again.
Very difficult to fine great service. This place has the most friendliest staff. They’re on top of everything to ensure you have a perfect experience. I come here 4 times a week for breakfast. I just moved to the area and I would not attempt to try another breakfast spot. They’re that good! Breakfast is homemade and perfect size.
Glens dinette has fresh prepared food. I'm always happy with whatever I order there & it's a very family friendly, cozy place. My favorite breakfast is the Eggs Florentine & my favorite salad is Gorgonzola, my favorite lunch is uptown ciabatta. The wait staff is very friendly & efficient. If you haven't been there yet, you must go try it. You will Love it.
amazing service and food was great as well.
OMG! Glen's has been a Babylon-staple for I don't know how long. There isn't anything on the menu that I wouldn't recommend and absolutely love the home-made hash! Just don't order it well-done - they flatten it like a piece of paper. If you want the outside more well-done you have to be very specific about how you like it. Otherwise, food is AMAZING! There is often a long wait on the weekends so wander to Babylon Bean first to get a good cup of coffee while you wait to be seated at Glen's. Absolutely worth any wait!
Absolutely fabulous great food, we went for breakfast and it was all plentiful and delicious.
What a sweet little diner this is. I was pleasantly surprised as I sat down here to have a little breakfast while my daughter was having surgery. I just needed to get away from the hospital for a while. I’m so happy I found this gorgeous, nostalgic, quaint place. The food was very simple but very good. Thank you!!!!!
I have been going here almost 30 years. Family friendly atmosphere. The owner Hapi and his wife are wonderful people and a great asset to the Babylon community. Oh ,yeah.....food is awesome 👌
Their waffles and chicken special was one of the best we have had! The corned beef hash was perfectly browned. We left pleased with all our dishes. Wait staff was pleasant and stayed on top of coffee. We will definitely visit again if in the neighborhood.
First time here….This place is a real gem. Old school greasy spoon vibe. Food was great. Service was excellent. Staff was friendly and sweet. Place was charming and clean Highly recommended.
Been coming to Glenns for years. Love the quaint “homey” atmosphere. With all the big overpriced and over hyped flashy diners out there, this place is a welcome respite. The owners are usually on the premise and are friendly and attentive as is all the staff, many who have been there for years. The food is simple but really flavorful and well presented. Coffee never stops. Love to bring my family and friends here. Yes, sometimes a bit of a wait but, worth it and seating is usually quick. This is one of those special, locally owned mom and pop type diners, that are quickly disappearing from our small towns and villages. Gotta check this out! ❤️
Awesome little diner out in Babylon LI. The food is amazing, customer service is super friendly and on point. Definitely going back there when I make my way back to Babylon. Check them out if you're in the area, you won't be disappointed!
Parking was a bit inconvenient, but it was worth it. The food was fresh, the home fries were super tasty, and the coffee was definitely of good quality . I definitely recommend giving it a try !!
This place is SO much better than a normal diner. Every dish is outstanding. One of my favorite restaurants!
What can I say…LOVE THIS PLACE!! The servers are on top of everything…the food is great !! The Spinach Feta omelette is amazing…the Mediterranean Salad another winner !!! Pumpkin pancakes like no other !!! A amazing addition to Babylon!!
Classic retro diner. We have wanted to dine here for years now. Happy we finally made it. Food was excellent and staff was very friendly. You know a place is great when there are always people outside waiting to get a table. We will be back!
It's a great place to go for breakfast. If you're in the area don't pass it up. Can get very busy in the morning.
I was surprised to notice I've never left a review of Glenn's bc I've been coming here for 25 years! Usually breakfast at the counter. Never a bad experience. Not even once.
Super busy breakfast time and we still had great food and great service.
A classic sandwich (“The Jughead”) at a classic eatery. You can never go wrong at Glen’s. In fact the usually “sharp and snappy” waitresses have even gotten kinder and gentler over the years (yes, years!). While lunch is a treat here, you must come by for the breakfast...to die for (try the Blue Monkeys, and see for yourself)
Wow, this is an iconic NY place to eat! And the food was amazing, service was above and beyond, and very reasonably priced! Thanks for taking care of us!!!
We were in Babylon on a Saturday in the a.m. when my girlfriend asked if I wanted to stop for breakfast somewhere. I said you're in for a treat and took her to Glen's. Of course there was a wait , but worth it. After Huevos Ranchero and a Spanish omelette between us we were stuffed and ready for a nap. The food, the ambiance and service never seem to fail.
Talk about a breakfast staple in Long Island!!! Conveniently located in the heart of Babylon next to all sorts of stores, this is THE spot for breakfast and lunch. For breakfast it's a must to get the Idaho, it's their specialty plate filled with home fries, bacon, shallots, cheese, and two eggs on top. Yummmmmm
Got seated right away and they have amazing food. The staff were all very nice too!
My new favorite place. The staff are amazing and sweet. The decor in side is amazing and old school. Everyone knows everyone. The food 😋
This place is such a vibe! It’s a classic dinette. I love sitting at the counter. They have the best bacon and their staff is always so welcoming and warm!
Just good old home town feel and food. Love this place, you just feel at home
Glen's Dinette is Amazing!!.. My wife and I have made it our Saturday Date for Breakfast just about every week!!!.. "ALL" the staff is incredible!!!.. Food is Awesome!!!... It's really hard to find a Great Breakfast spot on Long Island, but you can Definitely find it at Glen's in Babylon.. We look forward to Breakfast Every Saturday!!! Definitely Check ✔️ out Glen's in Babylon Village you won't regret it!!!
Amazing food, perfect diner vibes. Sit at the counter for a great view of the griddle
Old fashioned decor, tons to look at, friendly, old school diner. Excellent food too .
Food is the BEST! Just had breakfast with my son and husband. My son ordered a double order of French toast and absolutely loved it. I had a very generous order of pancakes. I ate one took the other 3 home to enjoy tomorrow. My husband had the eggs and bacon which he loves! We have been loyal customers for many many years. Our favorite place for breakfast and lunch. Our server was kind, attentive & very personable which just made our day. Of course we will go back again & again. The owner and his wife are have a terrific establishment and it shows by how many customers they always have. 👏👏👏☺️
THE IDAHO!!! Just had to announce that so everyone knows what to order when they go, especially first timers! The Idaho is one of man’s best works and consists of a heaping plate of home fries with cheese, scallions, (bacon if you choose) with eggs on top and toast on the side. Seriously one of the best breakfast places on Long Island. The service is also pretty quick and all of the wait staff is so friendly. The second picture is of the veggie burger my 13 year old niece ordered. She said she enjoyed it as well! Please note this place is CASH ONLY!
Had the Best Birthday Breakfast at Glenn’s Diner this morning. Food was excellent and the staff was Awesome!! Highly recommend to all hungry people. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Their food is awesome! I had banana pecan French toast!! Soo good! The place is small has counter seating too. We like to go once a month and hang. The food is good and the service is on top of it! Realize on a weekend you may wait. Which makes it a very busy feel.
Booth or bar, great for family and dates! Food is always good. No wonder it’s always packed!
Been going to Glen’s for over 25 years. Wait staff is amazing. Always a great meal.
Always enjoy eating here! Really love the eggs Benedict and the apple cinnamon French toast. Bought a souvenir mug and it's one of my favorites. Highly recommend this place
Glen’s Dinette is a fantastic spot for breakfast, my family and I recently had an excellent experience there. From the moment we walked in, the service was top notch & our waitress was helpful, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was fresh and delicious. A few standout items were the Crab cake Benedict and the corned beef hash. Both were cooked just right. I highly recommend Glen’s Dinette to anyone looking for a delicious breakfast in a welcoming atmosphere. One thing to keep in mind, they are a cash only restaurant, so plan accordingly!
I was traveling with a coworker the other day and we stopped in at Glen’s for lunch. It was 12 noon and the place was packed which to me, is a sign of a great place to eat. We opted to sit at the counter so we wouldn’t have to wait for a table due to our limited time to stop. Chrissy (Hope I spelled it right, forgive me if I didn’t) waited on us and despite the hustle of the lunch rush was very friendly, courteous and right on point with her suggestion of the meatloaf special. The atmosphere at Glen’s has a hometown, nostalgic feel with lots of memorabilia to look at while you wait for your food. The chalkboard and sign above the refrigerated case behind the counter really nails the feeling of this new found foodie gem in my opinion. Prices are average, food was excellent for my first time there but have no reason to believe it wouldn’t be on my next visit and there will be plenty more visits in the future. Be nice or go home and Life is short, eat the Bacon says it all.
Great food. Good service. Maybe a little pricey.
Best Cuban sandwich around. Seriously, it’s not to be missed. The food is good in general and the place is cute. I’ll say this though, the waitresses (one or two in particular) don’t ever crack a smile or great you warmly. It’s just like a cranky waitress from an old timey movie. They often rush you out of there and usually give a full table of people just one menu to share.
If you're looking for a local breakfast spot that won't disappoint, Glen's is the place for you. The decor and overall feel of the place is nostalgic. Be prepared to wait in line on a weekend morning or afternoon, the place is always packed - but for a good reason! You can't go wrong by ordering "The Idaho" - eggs cooked how you want over a heaping of potatoes, bacon and lots of cheese, with a side of toast. Cash only.
Only got a coffee but it was very good. Place is not very spacious but atmosphere is great. Old school classic dinette. Not many places like this around anymore. Employees are very friendly. No gimmicks, no new wave fusion cuisine, no "modern" decor, just good food at a good price served by good people.
A good old fashioned Dinette. Very retro. Food was okay prices okay service okay. Kind of average in my opinion but still worth a try. Got the eggs and full hash menu option. Hash was supposed to be homemade but tasted more like a can variety. Not horrible but not anything special. Nice portion though. Three meals came to $70 with $10 tip.
This place was so good and it was so nice and a fun experience! i recommend going here!
Food was good. Service was fast, friendly and good even for it being very busy.
Love this diner, the history, as well as the vintage feel to it. I just wish their hours were open til later.
Good food. Slightly overpriced. Nice enough staff.
Outstanding place, with really great food. Staff is amazing with the exception of the tall blonde woman with an attitude. Fire her and the place will be perfect.
A friend of mine recently took me to Glen's Dinette, which he has frequently gone. Service was very good, and also very helpful. I had a chance to talk to the owner while waiting to be seated. I asked some questions about the different coffee options. While he was making, espressos and lattes, and coffee specialties, and explain how he did it, very interesting. We were then then seated, breakfast was very good and we had a wonderful morning.
My boyfriend and I decided to get breakfast early Saturday morning which I thought would be a terrible idea. To my lovely surprise, there was seating for us at the bar. I also thought the service would be slow, but it was quite the opposite. The wait staff was super attentive and even made accommodations without issue. Also, the decor is 50s themed and feels like a blast from the past. After we enjoyed our delicious dishes, we walked out and saw a huge line waiting at the door. Safe to say we came at the perfect time but clearly this is one of the most popular breakfast spots in town!
Stopped in with my wife and friends at Glen’s Dinette in Babylon. We were greeted warmly and served quickly — classic diner hospitality. My crew kept it simple with eggs, potatoes, and toast, while I went all in on The Idaho. Savory, cheesy, and filling, with marble rye toast that was perfectly toasted and buttered. A dish that delivers. The space feels like a 1960s diner with modern touches. Prices are fair, service was friendly and attentive with refills offered more than once. For me, it’s a strong 4 stars. To give it 5, I’d want to try more of their standout dishes — like the banana blueberry pancakes that caught my eye. If those live up to the hype, my rating could climb. For now, when I’m in Babylon and want breakfast, Glen’s is my spot.
Glen's Dinette is surrounded by Neighborhood Charm that extends into the dining area. The food is typical with one shortcoming that could easily be fixed... Food: 2/5 - The few times I've visited for breakfast the food has had an aftertaste that comes from the grill not being really clean when it's cooked on. For example on today's meal, the sausage had that taste. To test, I cut off the outsides and ate it. The taste was not present. It could also be tasted in the home fries and the eggs. My spouse noticed the same thing. It has a greasy taste and the scrambled eggs had a dull look. Service 4/5 - Attentive and because of the size of the restaurant they are always close by. Refills of coffee were no problem. Ambiance 4/5 - The booths are comfortable and you get the feel that you are nestled in a local staple of the community. Glen's has been around for quite some time and the walls are decorated with photos and knickknacks from the past. Seating is limited so if you go at a peak time there may be a wait. Value - 3/5 - Not too expensive. Cleanliness 2/5 - Aside from the aftertaste issue in the food, the restrooms are basically clean but you can tell their is some grime in the grout on the floor. The restaurant isn't' filthy but it's far from spotless as could be witnessed at the server area just outside the restrooms. Parking 2/5 - Depending on when you go, it can be tricky if you're not familiar with the area. There are metered spots right outside that only accept coins. There's a lot across the street which technically is for customers visiting stores in that lot. Parking there isn't likely to be a problem. The lot is pretty big near the back of it. There are some other free parking areas in walking distance if you look them up on your favorite map app. Overall 3/5 - The food is the thing thing keeps me coming back repeatedly. However I must say, that this place does some brisk business for the locals so perhaps that "greasy spoon taste" is just fine for you. For me, I probably will visit again in a year or two to see if things have changed. It's a place I would really like to be a regular at if the food taste issue was fixed. Top 1 Recommendation for the restaurant: Make sure there is a regimented process around cleaning the grill and frequently changing out frying oils.
Small and cramped. Food was just ok nothing to rave about not a”have to go back again soon “ kinda place
We've been here before... classic and very cool, old dinette. We came for breakfast and were seated promptly, and our server was great. I got the Mediterranean omelet... it was a flat square of eggs with not much fillings. I think there were 2 olives in it. The potatoes were barely edible. Small, crispy, dry almost burnt chunks. I realized why so many other diners got French fries with their breakfast. My husband wasn't thrilled with his meal either. Bummer.
I had one extremely bad experience here. I will lead with the bad story, then go to my other experiences. back in, I believe 2014 or 2015, I was invited to go to glen's by my friend as her +1. she was going with her father, her father's coworker, and the coworker's son. we are all Hispanic. we are placing our orders, many of us ask for coffee. we are given our coffees. the milk is poured into a little container, so we pour the milk ourselves. I am the first to pour milk into my coffee. I drink the coffee. coffee does not taste right. then the others pour their milk, and they have the same complaint. we realized we were given spoiled milk. the waitress comes by, I tell her "can we have a new milk and coffee? we were given spoiled milk." she rolls her eyes at me, comes back with good milk. as a young adult back then, I honestly did write it off as an accident, and maybe our waitress just had a busy day and thought we were just being whiny about our milk. but the more I shared this story with friends, the more I was told by all my friends that this was more than just an accident, that this was on purpose. and that saddens me. because I have so many nice memories of glen's. this establishment closes around 3, so I remember my high school friends and I rushing to glen's after school to get a meal. my friend brought with her a glen's mug when she moved upstate to remember the good times. TL;DR some employees at glen's may be racist, so just be careful.
I don’t feel the food here has ever been much to rave about. Like others in their reviews, I don’t see the hype nor reason to wait long periods of time to eat at this place. Yes it’s cute, homey and quaint but I think I may have had my last breakfast there. Ordered an omelet. When it arrived I was disappointed on the appearance. The brown, overcooked, round omelet ( edges tucked in and squared) looked like a dirty potholder next to very bland-looking potatoes. All served on a small plate. Everything tasted as dry as it all looked. The omelet was hanging over the edge of the plate, with a small amount of potatoes (maybe because the plate size). For the price I paid (13.00), I feel that the quality did not even come close to having a satisfied experience.
I've been coming here for years. Staff and atmosphere is amazing but The food definitely changed. The pancakes tasted as if someone cleaned the grill with chemicals, and then made the pancakes on top. Undercooked.
very nice staff! and cute diner vibe. the food not so good. Had eggs with sausage. Sausage tasted like a spam hot dog, if that ever existed…the home fries tasted old and the coffee tastes burnt. very disapointing.
Not sure why this place gets 4+ stars. The food is bland, fruit cup had overripe fruits and with a piece of tosted onion on it. The capuccinos were lattes. The pancake is what you expect it to be but nothing to rave about. I get that they are busy on a saturday morning but I had to ask 3 people to get a cup of water. And in the end you leave the place smelling like you were in the kitchen cooking.
Excellent..better breakfast than the usual diner
I went to Glenn‘s today everybody raves about it, but my opinion on it is the food wasn’t so good. And the waitress felt like she was being bothered
The service was not great, we asked if something had potatoes with it and was told it did, however it came with root vegetables instead. The crab Benedict smelled fishy and felt a little undercooked. The pancakes were raw in the center and the blueberries didn’t taste fresh. Expected better for the review but was quite disappointed. When we were discussing that we were unhappy with the food within ourselves, we overheard the staff talk about it but there was no attempt to speak to us to see if everything was fine.
Waitress was impersonal and dismissive, we weren't "regulars" and were treated like outsiders. Hash and waffles were undercooked, eggs and the tea were cold. This place seems to survive on its location and its "locals" so I wouldn't go there at all unless you live there and can't cook.
Ordered pickup/carry-out for lunch - batter dipped cod & fries . . . got COLD over cooked cod COVERED IN AMERICAN CHEESE on a burnt roll. Coleslaw was WARM and shiny like it sat out for 2-3 hours. First time getting food from them . . . and the last!!!! Actually only got 1 star, since it wouldn't let me post with NONE
If I could give 0 stars I would give 0. Waited outside for my birthday breakfast for over 2 hours, with “20 minute” all they can offer for a bullshit excuse. Table for 5, yet they can call in 6 people after us for “table for 4”. Extremely Unprofessional, will never recommend to anyone.
