Great food choices. Mac n cheese 🧀 blue with Canadian bacon. Plenty of brussel sprouts choices and ban mi. 🍻 on tap. Plenty of 🆓🅿️. Large patio.
I can't say enough how much I love this place. They have done such consistently good service over the last few years that they moved to a new building and it has a great atmosphere. The decorations are fancy looking but without making you feel out of place if you come in wearing jeans and a T-shirt. The service provided is quick, informative, and honestly just refreshingly kind. The food is also great. On my most recent visit I had the trio and got the fancy pants burger, the Gouda burger, and the french brussel sprouts. It's a great place for a chill lunch with friends and a good date night meal.
Loved their flexible menu approach so you can try many things. $22 for 3 items was worth it. Got 2 meals out of it too. Friendly staff and food came quick for a busy night.
What a great spot! The food is delicious and the menu concept is a lot of fun. Really enjoyed the North Shore Slider. I want to give a special shoutout to Lauren and Scott, who helped me get my purse back after I left it at the restaurant. They were both so kind and made me feel at ease about the whole situation.
Love eating here. Can’t get enough of it. Always great food and great servers
The flavors here are seriously next level! Every time I’ve visited, the place has been bustling with people but ordering online has always been a breeze. I have to rave about the shoestring fries, they’re unreal. And those sliders served on ciabatta buns? Absolute perfection. I also really appreciate the way the menu is designed. You can mix and match two, three, or four smaller portions instead of being locked into one massive plate. Trying TASTE! was 100 percent the right move!
One of my all-time favorite places in SLO. The wines are local and delicious. And the food is amazing. You pick two, three, or four small items from the menu to build your meal. You can choose from an assortment of well built sliders, delicious Mac and cheese combos, fresh salads, flavored brussle sprouts, and more. I highly highly recommend. There is outdoor seating with heated lamps, a trendy indoor eating area, small bar, and of course wonderful service! I've used Taste as a perfect date spot, dinner with business execs, lunch spot with the girls, or a great place to grab a glass of wine and dessert solo. See you there!!
This place very pleasantly surprised me. I hosted a work event here for 32 people and the staff really made us feel prioritized. The food was outstanding -very sufficient portions! Everyone gave me credit for picking a solid location. I was hoping for good, but I really think they delivered great!
I love this place! A lot of different choices for food and it solves the "I don't know what I want to eat" dilemma by offering 2-4 different 'tastes' of dishes... Brunch was delicious and lunch/dinner is always good! Can't wait to go back again :)
I've been coming here for years and it's always been great. I'm not sure why there aren't more slider + Mac and cheese restaurants. It's a match made in heaven. Solid date night spotnor just casually hanging out with friends. I had the slamming Sammy slider, goude + sausage Mac and cheese, and Hail Cesar salad. All were excellent.
Taste is the place for choice. Tapas, or small plates of sliders, sandwiches, mac 'n cheese, carmelized Brussels sprouts, fries, soups, and salads done in so many delightful combinations. The idea is to select a Duo (any 2 items), a Trio (3 items) or a Quartet (4 items). After a long hard debate, I choosed a Quartet of an lamb slider with chevre cheese, French Brussels sprouts with bacon and chevre, mac ' n cheese, and a grilled asparagus arugula salad. One happy camper here. The only negatives are they get very busy at lunch, so there is a lot of noise. It's dark in there and for the second time in a row the mac ' n cheese is hot on top, but cold on the bottom. Good selection of wines and beers. Plenty of parking, and good service.
I love the concept of trying small amounts of many different things. My husband and I usually go for a trio( 3 items) we each have our own slider and usually a mac and cheese. Never have I been disappointed by trying something new here. I love the new seasonal menu! It's a small place with cozy atmosphere and we always leave happy and full.
Best food I've Ever had! Perfect sweet with spicy! Fresh ingredients! Amazing! We'll Done! Thank you to our server Landen!
Awesome place to meet up with friends or colleagues and enjoy a tasting menu of 1,2,3, or 4! The menu is large which might be a little overwhelming, but the flavors are great and offers custom options. We ordered a few sliders including the pineapple pulled pork special and a turkey roasted pepper slider, a small side of Gouda Mac and roasted brussel sprouts. Service is friendly and checked in frequently, and all the prices are very fair $8-15 on average per person.
Love how everyone greeted me by looking ate to ate to acknowledge me. I was promptly guided to order my food to go inside. I was told to Waite outside. I waited in my vehicle since it’s in the low 90sF. Well my Salmond salad was cautiously held and brought out all the way to my car. More importantly the to go contained did not compromise the integrity of my salad.
My favorite place in Paso Robles! It is a genius idea - pick anything on the menu and they will make it in a mini portion size. Mix and match - pick mini 2, 3 or 4 items. You can try more this way. It is great! I wish they had it in LA area.
My partner and I had a very pleasant dinner at Taste. We tried 2 sliders (forest burger and salmon Sammy), 2 Brussels sprouts (savory sprouts and spring sprouts), as well as the bet your burrata salad. Everything was very good, but I specially loved the sprouts. It had been a while since I had great Brussels sprouts such as these.
Sooooo TASTE!y !! I've loved this spot since they opened at a smaller location down the road and finally made it into their new digs and it is amazing! Very nice restaurant top to bottom. Great indoor seating, very nice bar area with a wide variety of spirits and they have a wonderful outside area dining area as well as more of a lounge/cocktail area, wonderful setup. The food has always been high quality. And they set it up where you pick 2, 3 or 4 items to create your custom plate or set it up for the table to share, it's really fun! This go, I had the Cubano with one of their brussel sprouts (they have about 4 types) and some fries, all delicious! My friend had the pesto chicken and a salad, she also said it was delicious. I have never had a bad meal there. And the service has always been spot on from start to finish. We were greeted perfectly and our waitress was friendly and super on it. Great atmosphere and amazing food, highly recommend!!
I had a wonderful time at taste. Service was great. The atmosphere is sunny upbeat friendly, even celebratory! I had the Caesar salad with salmon. Delicious! And then we had a bottle of sparkly white!
Taste is a great sit down restaurant for both good vibes and low-key eatery. It has a lot of options ranging from sliders, mac and cheese, brusselsprouts, salads, and even fish burgers. The menu is crafted where you can choose a duo, trio, or quartet and its very small portion sizes but can fill you up easily. Everyone usually recommends a mac and cheese, a fall or italian brusselsprouts and some kinda slider or fish burger The drinks are also pretty good if you wanna try them out. Parking is easy in the lot but if there is none there is free street parking on the side
Delicious and a great pit stop in the middle of an emotional emergency journey up the coast in my life. Preston our waitor was incredibly helpful and welcoming. Food was unbelievable, definitely try it.
One of the most excellent restaurants I have ever visited! They had well managed staff, excellent food options, a creative menu option, and even top notch hygiene. I went for the Lamb Burger and Truffle Fries and I loved it. Very overwhelming flavors on the Lamb Burger and to top it off with the Truffle Fries! I would also say the Quinoa and Ahi Tuna Salad was a very creative idea in general and would be served as a awesome side dish. Well done Taste! You met every expectation I had!
Not sure if I'm going to be able to accurately describe our dining experience but here goes. My wife and I are visiting from Las Vegas, we were downtown SLO doing some shopping and asked some locals to refer us to a great restaurant and we ended up at TASTE! we never would have imagined that our taste buds had started a journey of a lifetime. First of all the ambiance is amazing, our seating was on a cute little dining patio with hanging lights and candle-lit table for two. Our server honestly made the dining experience one that we will never forget, Ashley was so helpful with the menu and made some excellent suggestions, she offered us some beer samples that were very tasty and refreshing. We had the Parmesain Fries as an appetizer and a Trio entrée. The food was literally some of the most amazing tasting food that we have ever had the pleasure to enjoy. We give this restaurant 10 starts ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ and Ashley gets her own set of 10 stars for being the most amazing server we ever had in a restaurant experience hands down
Visited over the weekend to try something local that was not downtown, and what a pleasant choice! We were seated promptly, and the staff was super friendly. We ordered a trio and a duo with some beers. The trio was the BLT slider, another slider, and sweet potato fries. The duo was the California cowboy cobb and the benny burger. The food was delicious! The Chipotle aioli had a nice lil kick! Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and price was not bad!
The quartets are the way to go; get those and share with friends. The beef sliders are delicious, as is the chicken chipotle one
This place has amazing food and there are so many options to choose from. It does take a bit for the food to come out but definitely worth it! The trio is the perfect meal to get you completely full, especially if you get an appetizer to share for the table! Definitely come here with friends or family, it is a great experience!
Food is unique and different. Be adventurous and win a scrumptious meal. Had 3 choice meal, which had to take home one bacon slider and it tasted better reheated in microwave because cheese was melted but did have some wilted lettuce after. Sweet potato fries yummy
Great concept and delicious food. Service was fast and friendly. We went at lunch time and ordered the 4 choice option. Summer BBq slider, Chicken Cabo? Slider, very berry salad and the French style Brussels. Sliders are served on a ciabatta bun. The Brussel sprouts were by far my favorite. Great local wine list.
Taste! gets it that not everyone wants a mega serving of fries with their dish. Sometimes you want real food that satisfies, but doesn’t make you feel stuffed. The options to choose the quantity of food is so refreshing and the food is great!
Went on a sober girls weekend with two friends to SLO. We hit up TASTE the first night of our trip. We had 1 vegetarian, along with myself who has a very severe dairy intolerance. I found ordering very easy! The food was great and they have so many options! I was also happy to see 3 fun NA drinks on the menu! So many restaurants forget that not everyone drinks alcohol, but still wants to have fun drinks and TASTE did an awesome job on their small NA drink menu. They were delicious! I would definitely come back when in town.
Don’t know why but was skeptical upon arrival. Maybe busy street side location but inside it’s very inviting and comfortable. Really friendly staff. Service was perfect, attentive without being disruptive. Menu is unique to me and I loved it. You basically pick 2-4 options at a set price. Essentially making up ala cart to create your own dish. Recommend and would return.
Always a must stop when we’re in SLO. This was our first visit to their new location (right down the street from old one). We loved the new large patio! We started with the grilled Brie, which is always a must. It came with honey, fig and apricot spread, strawberries and baguette. So, so, so good to say the least! For dinner, I typically get the trio option and ordered a mac and cheese with Gouda, mushrooms and roasted red peppers, along with two chicken sandwich options. The portions are the perfect size and there is so much variety to choose from. Thanks to our server also for letting us finish our cocktails near the fire pit after we were done with dinner. Highly recommend TASTE! For the excellent, large menu and fantastic service we always have!
What a wonderful dining experience! We stopped at Taste Craft Eatery in SLO for lunch and it didn’t disappoint! We arrived around 1pm & were quickly seated in the beautiful setting. They have outdoor & indoor seating options. Our server was very friendly & through about the menu items since it was our first time there. She explained the mix & match options. Food was just amazing! We loved mix & match plates with choice of entrees & sides. Duo, Trio, or Quartet! Menu selection was great from sliders to salads! We just loved their Mac n cheese! You could customize it with your choice of cheese & toppings. Just out of this world. They were busy but our food arrived without any delay. They have great beer choices, few wines & other non alcoholic beverages. Keep up the good work! Can’t wait to see you guys in Bay Area! Open one soon😍
Really good food and good service. A fun environment, lots of college students, and the ability to mix and match up entre options so you can try everything is really fun. It is very loud, so not the best spot for an intimate dinner, but a fun place for a group. We had the ahi Caesar salad and salmon, beef, and chicken sliders. All were good. The ahi was exceptional!
This is a fun place, especially if you have a group. There are a variety of sliders which are fun to share. The sliders are super yummy, and fun to try new combinations. The restaurant is busy and a bit noisy. We chose inside seating, but there is outdoor seating, which, if the weather is good, would probably be quieter. All in all a fun place with good food. An experience that must be tried.
If you want wedding food that people actually enjoy (and talk about for weeks afterward), you have to hire Taste!. We were already fans of their restaurant in town, so we knew the food would be good, but they truly blew us away with their catering. Wedding food can so often be cold or uninspired, but Taste! is the complete opposite. Their menu is amazing, and every single dish was delicious. The filet mignon was raved about by everyone who ordered it. One of the things I was most impressed by was the service. I’ve been to so many weddings where half the room is finished eating before the other half even gets their plates, but Taste! had the food out so quickly and efficiently. The passed and stationary appetizers were a massive hit during cocktail hour—our guests couldn't get enough! From the quality of the ingredients to the speed of the staff, everything was 10/10. We are so glad we went with a local favorite. Highly recommend them to anyone who wants to ensure their guests leave happy and full!
Best lunch place here in slo. All food tastes great and it has such a cool atmosphere. A few tips: 1 Don't be fooled by the name "sliders" they fill you up really good 2 ALWAYS get the mac and cheese blue cheese or pepper jack on top is always good 3 the sliders come with what I would say is a whole salad on top and it kinda ruins the flavor vibe I'm not a spoiled brat who can't eat vegetables but in this case I pick most of the leafy greens off 4 my normal order (recommendations) are: The Benny burger, the beach club, and Mac and cheese with blue cheese.
This place had amazing sliders. I'm from Bay area, San Jose but I've never found such a good restaurant in San Jose so far. We are a vegetarian crowd and the two veggie burgers that they had were just amazing. More than anything the style of ordering was the best you could other order two three or four and it worked best if you're with family with kids. That how much plate was kids favorite. Our table was taken care by Preston and he did an amazing job.
Always love the food at Taste. I always get the same order. Jalapeño burger, jalapeño and pepper jack Mac and cheese and a salad. Never any complaints on the food. The service is always ok. I was told to sit anywhere in the restaurant and I sat down at a table in the back. The table hadn’t been cleaned and they never offered to clean it. I also had to ask for utensils which was really off. Maybe this was a one off but if you tell someone to sit anywhere at least clean the table when they sit down.
A and G, in town for A's cousin's wedding we're at the rehearsal dinner at Taste. We had sliders for dinner. G had steak sliders and A had chipotle chicken. Both were so good. We both had drinks. A's Old Fashion was on point, as was his 2 ounce shot of Bulleit Bourbon. G had a few frothier drinks and loved them. The service was great. The food was great. The outdoor seating with fire pits was really nice on a crisp autumn night. All in all, it was a beautiful dinner and I think it enhanced A's cousin's special weekend. Thanks Taste.
I love going to Taste. Every time I’ve been there it is delicious, great service, very inviting atmosphere and never too long of a wait. I really enjoy the ability to mix and match items on the menu because you try new things every visit as well as ordering your favorites. The bartenders are top notch, making great cocktails and giving suggestions for dinner. Not to mention they’ll always make you laugh. Their staff is a delight.
It wasn’t busy when we went, we went on a Saturday night around 8pm. Seating was quick and service staff were friendly. Food was great and the portions were perfect. Lots of outdoor dining even tables with fire pits. Beer was cold and not over priced. Highly recommended for sharing or if you want a small meal. Fig burger was amazing.
My wife and I recently visited Taste Craft Eatery before a comedy show at the Fremont, and it was a delightful experience from start to finish. Upon entering, we were immediately struck by the warm and inviting atmosphere, complete with charming decor and soft lighting. The moment we sat down, we were serenaded by Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You," setting the perfect tone for the evening. The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, making our first visit feel special. I opted for the quartet, allowing me to sample four different items from the menu. The shoestring fries were perfectly crispy, and the sliders were nothing short of amazing. My wife chose the pulled pork slider and a chicken sandwich, both of which she thoroughly enjoyed. However, the highlight of our meal was undoubtedly the dessert and the drinks from the bar. The cocktails were expertly crafted, and the dessert was a delightful way to cap off our dining experience. Overall, Taste Craft Eatery exceeded our expectations with its delicious food, fantastic atmosphere, and attentive service. It's a perfect spot for a pre-show meal, and we can't wait to return!
If you're visiting San Luis Obispo, Taste! Craft Eatery is a must-visit spot. Their burgers are absolutely delicious, bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. While the chicken burgers could use a bit of improvement, everything else on the menu more than makes up for it. The Mac n Cheese is particularly awesome—rich, creamy, and comforting. The atmosphere is inviting and cozy, and the staff is friendly and attentive, making the dining experience even better. Whether you're a local or just passing through, Taste! is definitely worth a stop.
Looking for catering services? Look no further than Taste! Recently, I organized a Celebration of Life event, and Kate and her team exceeded all expectations. They ensured every detail was perfect, reflecting an event my Grandmother would have cherished. The communication throughout was seamless, and their presentation and hosting on the day were impeccable. And let's not forget the highlight - the food received rave reviews from everyone!
Taste! lived up to its name delivering on tremendous flavor! As soon as you walk in you are greeted with happy and smiling servers in a semi fancy indoor restaurant. There is also plenty of outdoor seating. First we started off with a Shirley Temple which was regular and good. Then we got the Mac n cheese with feta and caramelized onions which was sooooo good. It was a little burnt which I loved! Then the pork bbq sandwich was my favorite part of the meal. The coleslaw was so fresh and tasty and went so well with the sweet BBQ sauce and the charred and tender savory pork. This was all served on a buttered ciabatta roll which was FIRE. Then the evie burger was also another pleasant combination of goat cheese and fig jam paired with some leafy greens and a medium rare beef patty. Again the same pattern that all the ingredients weee so fresh appeared again which I loved. The only problem was the slider as a whole was a little dry but overall so tasty. Then we ended off the night with a Creme brûlée which was SOOOOOOO good. The sugary crispy top and the creamy vanilla core just made it the perfect desert to end off the night. This restaurant was unique as it had a mix and match menu which I actually really liked! Keep in mind a trio would probably be enough for one hungry individual when ordering. The servers were kind, food was amazing, and prices were affordable, so overall I would definitely recommend TASTE! To others, and will go again:)!
We have been dining at Taste since it opened and have always loved the experience Here’s what we love: - robust-sized appetizers - truly large enough for 4 to share and get more than one or two bites. - great atmosphere! We loved the old location and were concerned that the “vibe” would change at the new place but they have managed to make a large venue intimate and perfect for date night. - never had better brussels. Every variation is just incredible. - I love the ability to choose smaller dishes, but more items that I know I will eat and love. We often get an appetizer to share and each get a “Choose 2” or “Choose 3” and we’re stuffed. BTW, both of us love to eat so portion size is definitely something we look for. - Drinks are always perfect - the menu style is very conducive to sharing dishes amongst friends. - love the decor and the bar area - very fun - price - for this kind of food, the price is fantastic! Things I would change if I could: - parking is definitely an issue; if you are dining with people who have mobility issues, I would definitely pull in and drop them off, then go and park on the street.
Great sliders, loved the mini ciabatta bread they came in. These are not normal little sliders but a medium size burger a little smaller than in and out burgers. They are not so small. Come in so many flavors and the ones we had were all very good. The Mac and cheese were good in terms of taste but dry, would not recommend. Same w the Brussels sprouts - dry. Wings and Brie platter as appetizers were very good, although the wings were a little small and not many included. Overall no issue w food. Would go back for that. The issue was the service. Very patchy. Our waitress came to greet us, take drinks order then to forge we to come back to take our food order. Then we hardly saw her except almost towards the end. She wasn’t new as she seems one of the more seasoned waiters but I guess they are there primarily to greet and smile. The waitstaff who came to deliver our order weren’t well trained, forgot plates, etc … and no one came to check on us unless we hailed them, which we really shouldn’t have to do numerous times. Some tables seemed to have good servers. We were not one of these.
I love the ambiance of TASTE! It’s very cute farmhouse/chic style with a twist of modern. The prices for drinks are extremely fair for this area. A glass of good white wine was only $10, and it was a good pour. My boyfriend and I chose to do the trio for $22. We got the Mac and cheese with guryere and mushrooms, Cobb salad, and the tri tip sandwich. The salad and sand which were good, the Mac and cheese was a little dry and burned on the top. We ordered a second trio which was the veggie sandwich, broccoli and cheddar Mac and cheese, and caprese salad. The veggie sandwich was not good, it was too bland. I would highly recommend adding a good cheese and roasted bell pepper to make it better. My boyfriend’s Mac and cheese was very dry and not a lot of flavor. They ended up giving us the butrata salad and not the caprese, which was fine…but it was saturated in dressing. I think there are certain items that are better than others, so if you know what to order, it’s totally worth it.
Enjoyed my meal here. Met some friends for a quick lunch. Lively atmosphere, busy at the lunch hour. I ordered two sliders, the Cubano and Eve. You can tell they enjoy blending flavors together and creating culinary delights. I only wish my Eve had a bit more savory burger flavor, the fig jam was a tad overpowering. The Cubano I highly recommend. But overall, a very pleasant time and a good place to meet friends for lunch.
Stopped by for lunch as we were passing through SLO. The mix and match option is clever. We were seated immediately, outside under their tents in the parking lot. Service was spotty, but they were packed and we weren't in a rush. The sweet potato fries were amazing! The sauce that accompanied it was to die for, it was a massive portion and well priced. As for the mix and match portion, we got the: Gouda burger, fancy pants burger, and mac and cheese with cheddar and BBQ pulled pork. The Gouda was hands down the best and came highly recommended - it didn't disappoint. The fancy pants burger was mediocre. What did disappoint was the mac and cheese - the top was hot but the bottom of the cup was cold. I don't know how they prepare it, but the temp difference was off putting. For that, I'm giving it 4 stars.
Food: 4/5 Ambiance: 4/5 My order: as shown in pictures, Mac n cheese, vegetarian slider and Cabo chicken slider along with Caramel brûlée as a dessert. Sliders were really good. Nice smoky flavor with just enough juicyness. Tasted amazing but having said that, whenever I had to add fries to my slider to make it more tasty then the slider doesn't make justice in taste enough. Garlic fries were good in taste but a little bit soggy. Sauce on the side was good and added perfect taste. Dessert is highly recommended. Smooth silky with icy caramlized sugar on top. Perfect way to end your meal. Waiters are good and suggestive. Overall good for a nice evening.
My wife and I had the quartet with salmon and chicken sliders. It was pretty good. My daughter had thr chicken salad. All very good. The quartet portion was a little light. Service and atmosphere was great!
Such a fun concept of mix and matching smaller dishes. Lots of slider options. The chicken popper was our fave. The brussel sprouts were delicious. Mac and cheese had a great cheesey crust on top, wished it was just a touch more creamy on the noodles. The grilled artichokes are yummy, the aioli dip is delicious!
We had many tasty items to choose from. Their signature custom Mac n Cheese bowls offer many options, and left me wanting a larger bowl. I had a trio combo with blue cheese & mushroom Mac, with the Daisy Duke and Apple Slider. The chicken was a thick piece of breast and was hard to eat because it squished out all my toppings. The Apple Burger left me wanting more meat, the patties were skimpy compared to the price. Don’t get me wrong, everything we had tasted great, there is just room for improvement on the portion sizes. The perfect combo appears to be a slider, a Mac, and a salad. As the greens they were not skimpy on. I will definitely return to sample some of their other creations.
Overall the food was incredible. I did a trio with the Cobb salad (delicious!), Fall Flyer (soooo good!!) and the Banh Mi (not with real pork belly, wouldn’t order again). Our waiter was great and we sat outside with 14 people and they served us well! Docking a star for two reasons: no espresso machine?! How does a fancy place that serves brunch only have basic coffee- huge miss. Also, the kids meal: cheese burger was a beef patty with cold shredded cheese on top, not melted, and the Mac and cheese was the same: noodles with shredded cheese on top, not really mixed or melted. I would 100% come back as the menu is so interesting and extensive, each visit would offer something different!
Overall, this place is nice and the food is quite good. The menu allows you to pick numerous options for one price, depending on how many options you want to eat. In my opinion, the menu is a little busy and could be tidied up a bit to make it a little easier to understand. Overall, the service has always been good and this place is a nice change from the normal chain restaurants. It has a bar in the middle of the restaurant which has seating as well. Bathrooms are clean. The parking lot has ample parking but is fairly narrow to navigate in and out of. Parking is there if you need it. Overall, I would give this place between a 4 and 5 star review. The food is ok, not great. The slider options vary quite a bit and some are better than others. If I were in charge of the menu, I would eliminate quite a few of the options and really try to excel at each of the offering plates on the menu. The one item I thought was exceptional was the garlic fries. These come piping hot and chefs have done an amazing job on creating a great flavor profile with this appetizer. Order this as soon as you sit down and enjoy the fries with your friends over a cold beer, cocktail, wine or soda.
Happened to come across Taste while browsing Yelp and decided to stop in for dinner. The place has a cool vibe—nothing over the top, but definitely not underdone either. You can dress up or keep it casual, which I really appreciate. Food-wise? A bit of a hit and miss, unfortunately. I went with the Trio and ordered the Burger in Paradise, Truffled Up Fries, and Gouda & Chorizo Mac N Cheese. The burger? Solid! The sauce had a great flavor, and the Gouda was a nice touch. The arugula and tomatoes tasted fresh, and the ciabatta bun and meat were cooked perfectly for my taste. The fries? Pleasant surprise! I’m not usually into string fries, but I actually liked these a lot. The truffle wasn’t overpowering, and they came out just right. The Mac N Cheese? Miss. Unfortunately, it lacked flavor. The chorizo felt like an afterthought, and the Gouda didn’t really come through. That said, the noodles were cooked perfectly—just wish the rest delivered. All in all: The service was great, the vibe was on point, and most of the food was well worth the price. This spot is officially on my go-to list.
I came here for lunch around 1:30pm on a Saturday. I was seated right away and my server, Grant was great right off the bat. I got water right away and my drink order was taken quickly along with food. I got the Young Woo which was recommended by my server and it was very flavorful and well presented. I also got the trio meal with truffle fries. I will say that the flavor was there, everything was well seasoned. The only issue that I had with the sliders was the ratio of bread to lettuce to meat. There was way too much lettuce in the sliders. It just felt like it was compensating for the lack of protein but I rather have had a well balanced slider than a whole salad in each slider. It was just comical. That aside, the ambience was nice, decor was chic with a modern vibe and outdoor seating available. My server Grant was excellent, he checked in after the first couple bites and got my boxes and my check right away when asked as well. Top notch service. The only thing I would improve is the slider ratio.
My friends and I shared some shoestring fries for appetizers, and they were cooked and seasoned perfectly. Delicious. Then I got a duo - the Benny Burger slider and a smoked gouda Mac and cheese. 1. The burger was thin and flavorless without the added sauce - it fell flat for me. I know it's a slider but it was a miniscule portion - even if I got two sliders this would not be enough for a full grown adult (and I'm 4'9, usually can't eat regular portions in one sitting) the Mac and cheese was delicious but the portion was again laughable. It was 3 small bites. For 17.00 ?? No thanks. The nice outdoor patio and atmosphere wasn't enough to save the mid food.
I think this restaurant was a bit pricey for just some slider sandwiches. I can't see when I would want to go out of my way to pay $25 for a few small sandwiches again. The quality was good, and the menu selection was generous, but I'd prefer single priced sliders. Even then, im not sure I'd spend the $6-$8 per slider order again. If all of my sliders were good, I may have rated better. I was very unimpressed and even disappointed by the bon mi sandwich. I was most excited to try that one, and then it was just pulled pork meat with pickles, and I dont know what else. It was not even near a bon mi sandwich at all. That felt wrong because we dont really have bon mi sandwiches around here, so I jumped to try this, but no. My aunt later told me she tried it too but didn't like it either. I liked the popper one a lot but wasn't impressed by the vacation one. I did think they had a good amount of protein. Truffle fries were unimpressive for me as well. They were oily and thin. All together, I think this could be a good date spot, but I also think $30 a person for sandwiches and a drink is a bit much. There are other options on the menu. I saw someone order a fish plate, and that looked good. Unfortunately, everyone that's eaten here has told me they got sandwiches, and I personally don't know if I will pay that much for those again. The hostess or casher was slightly dismissive since she prioritized taking phone orders over the guests in front of her while being the only one able to help at the front booth. It was irritating to pay so much for an order and see it getting cold on the shelf and not be able to get it since she was on the phone. 🫠 Hope this helps.
We had a mixed experience. The food was average overall. The hummus was particularly disappointing, as it was served salty and stale. The chicken sliders were just okay, nothing special. On a positive note, the fries were quite good. However, the staff, service, and ambience were exceptional and deserve 5 stars. The team was attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere was inviting and pleasant. While the food didn't meet my expectations, the excellent service and lovely ambience made the visit worthwhile.
It's a nice atmosphere, but I didn't think anything about the food stood out. The menu is a set price where you can pick any 2, 3, or 4 items from sections such as sliders, mac and cheese, salads, and brussels sprouts. I picked one each of slider, mac, and brussels. The slider was a bit dry and I couldn't really taste the meat; the mac was a bit watery and the main cheese/toppings were just baked on the top of (not into) the pasta; and the brussels were very rich and flavorful, so probably the highlight.
Burgers are good, but go to another place and pay $5 more for more food than the 5 bites you get. Cocktails were underwhelming. Pumpkin cheesecake was dry. Service was great but overall the establishment was sub par.
So many options. I got trio and chose a blue burger slider, French Brussel sprouts and the Mac and cheese. Let me start by saying these Brussels sprouts were the best thing I ate. Perfectly cooked with some crunch and very flavorful with the balsamic. Mac and cheese was good maybe my combo of cheeses wasn’t the best since the feta cheese was burnt on top. Was somewhat disappointed by the slider though. The bread was not soft and the ciabatta bread just overwhelmed the small patty. Oh and share some truffle fries, these were so good too. Staff was super friendly and service prompt. They had lots of outdoor seating and for a Monday lunch it was super busy.
To be quite honest, I don't think this is a family friendly restaurant at all. There's no kids menu and the only thing your kids can really purchase are a side of fries, a tiny side of mac & cheese that really has no flavor according to my daughter and myself or a plain burger now mind you all of those things to cost for just two items would be $17 for your child. My daughter did not like the mac & cheese at all so instead of just charging us for just a side of fries for which I asked they brought out a giant another plate of fries as her second side and continue to charge us $17 for a plate of fries. While my food was really good, I'm not sure if I'll be back. I understand not every restaurant is a family restaurant, but this was a Monday night and there was no one in there. The least they could do is cater to most of the community who does have children and offer something at a discount cost, knowing how expensive kids are and charging $17 for a quote on quote kids meal is a slap in the face. So disappointing.
So the food was decent, but nothing was special. Fries were solid. We all got a different version of the slider and a side. The burgers were under seasoned, and my wife got one that should have had chimichuri on it. There wasn't a drop of anything green on it. The main reason that I'm writing the review is because of the drink. It was happy hour, which our server specifically mentioned. Sign specifically mentioned that classic and specialty cocktails were $3 off. The drink I ordered specifically mentioned an upgrade to a higher quality liquor for $5, which I ordered. When I got the bill and noticed there was no happy hour discount, I asked our server why. She said that happy hour only applies to well drinks. That was not stated anywhere, and if you're going to offer me a happy hour menu, and I order off of it, it would be nice if you mention that the drink I am ordering doesn't count. If it's not written anywhere and you don't say it. How is the customer supposed to know. The right thing to do would have been to be kind, run the bill again with the discount, and let your customer know for next time. Instead she kind of just huffed and puffed when picking up my credit card and didn't return to pick up the signed bill or offer us water even though we were still there for another 15 min...
Can't rate the food since we didn't have any. We were seated at an outdoor table by the hostess. After nearly 10 minutes with no contact from a waitress/waiter, we bailed. I can't stand to be ignored.
This used to be our go-to spot for bringing guests, but after our last visit, we won't be coming back. Although the waitress was charming, our food arrived cold, the pre-dinner drinks were watered down and tasteless, the side salads were so oily as to be inedible, and the slider buns have changed from a tasty sourdough to a gluey brioche bun. We were so embarrassed to have brought guests to such an all-around disaster! We have more guests next week, and are doing research to find another people-pleasing restaurant that hasn't taken a nose-dive in quality.
We've been going back to Taste for a few years now. Started supporting them when it was at a smaller location down the street and just a little wine bar. Love the mix and match concept to try multiple different flavors with their duo/trio options. Last night was one of our most disappointing experiences, and will probably be hesitant at returning anytime soon. Two reasons: service and food. Starting with service: By the time our waitress made it to our table, we were ready to order. Asked her for waters with no ice and a high chair. She promptly brought out waters with ice. No big deal, we didn't feel the need to complain. Food came fairly quick, but we were still wrestling our toddler in our arms and not high chair. We kindly asked the server who brought out the food for a high chair. She was great and set it right up for us. Moving on to the food: We had ordered two trios and a starter. 5 of the 7 items were either burnt or too dry. I had high expectations for the 'tip o argentina,' but the entire edge was burnt. I attempted to see it I can "shave" off the edge, but ultimately decided to return to the kitchen. When we flagged it to our waitress, Tracy, she claimed that tri tip was just cooked through. We had to point out the burnt charr that flaked off. That no longer resembled meat at that point to be called "cooked through." She finally helped us trade it in for a different slider. Which was actually the only good tasting part of our entire meal. The other super disappointing dish of the night was the lamb kofta. Also overcooked with much charr and burnt bits. I ultimately shaved off the burnt pieces (picture attached) and to finish our meal without flagging further since our waitress didn't seem to care about the quality of what is being served. Overall, sad that we can no longer count on this place as one of our go to spots. Would feel utterly embarrassed if any of our out of town friends or family had the same experience per our recommendation.
This place is way too loud. You can't even talk to the person sitting next to you and the poor wait staff get orders wrong because they can't hear the customers. Not only were they piping in thumping rave type music, they also were blasting the TV over the music. It was awful for us and the staff. As customers drank, they got louder and louder trying to be heard over the TV and rave music. The food has changed. Sliders are way smaller than the last time we were here. My berry salad had a hot spicy dressing thay was completely different as well (and not good). The one bright spot was our server.
The food here was too expensive for me, so I settled for the light weight option of a $16 Caesar salad. The salad was clearly store bought and machine cut, because it was yellowing (and even browning) throughout it. The waitress handled things well and professionally. She started to point out to me that their dressing is brown, but I pointed out that some parts were clearly extremely brown and not liquid at all. I only ate two bites before I looked down from my phone and noticed how bad it was. It was honestly the worst salad I’ve ever even witnessed (no exaggeration needed) and it was at a restaurant that I only went to in hopes of finding some food that is affordably crafted.
We went to Taste for a birthday lunch with friends and were disappointed. The food wasn’t impressive — the watermelon was old, and the salad should be avoided. When we asked for a candle, the staff replied that they don’t give free desserts — even though we never asked for dessert. On top of that, they automatically added a 20% service charge, which should be up to the customer. Overall, not a place I would recommend.
Burned lamb sandwich served; manager said she would replace it but we were done as in well done! Why would they serve that and expect anyone to eat it without complaing? Quality control out the window. Noise bounces everywhere and no one can hear each other. I was really disappointed and others have recommended the place.
