Super yummy food, professional waiter, great beers on tap. If u like Spanish food go there
Delicious food, good drink selection, friendly service and atmosphere. There's one TV by the bar but easy to avoid - if you're seated elsewhere in the restaurant it's mostly screened from view.
This place make me feel happy. Great paella, and very nice staff. Good for Sangria on a weekend afternoon, dinner with friends, or maybe even a date.
Great restaurant with friendly service. Beautiful interior design. Great cocktails and sangria. Tasty tapas. Try their lamb chops.
Excellent service. Come here for tapas and cocktails. Manager and staff are very nice. Order the ceviche, tenderloin, anchovy open faced sandwich
Went there for the first time 4 weeks ago and had the sizzling shrimp, chicken pesto sandwich and the Berry Sangria. Delish!!!! Going back tonight.
Visited here w/some coworkers. We tasted a variety of sample sized dishes. Very tasty and Great service!
Amazing atmosphere, food and drinks... The staff is friendly and fun. Always a great time whether with friends or a group.
The short rib is out of this world! Great selection of tapas. Bartender makes a great Manhattan too!
I like the interior design and how clean it is (along with the great Spanish music playing!). Tapas were nice and healthy.
Love the food. Wine selection is good. Always a fun time at the bar!
Pretty great experience for the second time. I'd give it a 4.5 but that's not an option. Definitely recommend you try it if you are in to tapas
Went during Restaurant week, lunch was great! The waiters and host did really well servicing us considering they were juggling waiting on tables, tending at the bar, and greeting guests. The cuisine isn't really authentic Spanish, but still tasty. Recommend the garlic shrimp and calamari!
Enjoyed a Wednesday date night at this tapas restaurant. Recommend lamb meatballs, beef and barley soup, duck, and especially the rice and beans. Good selection of Spanish wines at a reasonable prices. Friendly and attentive service. I'll be back for lunch.
Excellent food at a very reasonable price. The crab/mango/avo was as flavorful as it was colorful. The ceviche was prepped and played perfectly, the salmon was a generous portion and cooked perfectly. The garlic shrimp was sizzling hot, and great when paired with the bread. And of course the sangria was smooth when washing down my dinner. Shawn provided excellent and attentive service for the bar and high tops area. Definitely recommend for dates or work dinners, any occasion really.
Delicious food and drink, and great service! I love their outside patio area! The dishes are small (tapas are meant to be so) but still very filling. I found that splitting 3-4 for every two people is sufficient. I personally love the gorditas and ceviche, and for drinks, the sangria.
Excellent service, good ambience, and great food! We got several tapas dishes to share between a party of 3, plus a pitcher of the sangria royale. The cauliflower & broccoli fritters, and the sizzling shrimp particularly stood out to me. The dulce de leche crepe with berries was amazing! I really appreciated the fact that the ambient music was kept low, making it easy to have a conversation.
Went here for a date night and was VERY pleasantly surprised. We had no trouble getting a Saturday night reservation day-of. Our waitress was very nice and super helpful in recommending gluten free dishes for my fiancée. We ordered from a special menu which included one small plate, two regular plates, and a dessert for $33. A steal, if you ask me. I highly recommend the meatballs, the goat cheese & tomato sauce, and the churros. My god, the churros. Fiancée says the almond flour chocolate cake was also incredible. My only regret from this place was that we didn't try the port flight. We'll have to fix that next time.
Delicious tapas! Especially loved the lamb meatballs and beef tenderloin with figs, apricots, and prunes. The sangria was absolutely incredible and made in-house with Cava! Can't wait to come back and try everything else on the menu!! @TheBiteSite
Great tapas selection, some of the best and most authentic I've had outside of Spain! The wine selection is great, and I've always had friendly and knowledgeable servers. Ever since Tapeo closed down on Newbury Street, this is my go-to tapas bar.
The tapas were very good and the rose sparkling we had was excellent. The chicken and beef empanadas were very tasty. The duck was very good and beef short rib was great. The service was excellent and will definitely will be back.
The Tortilla and the Gambas All Ajillo were fastastic! And the white sangria was flavorful and refreshing, perfect for a summer night! The owner, Ricardo, was very friendly. Looking forward to more great drinks and tapas next time. Thank you Kika!
excellent food, great service! they had a good vegetarian selection, and I love the Tapas style of being able to order small dishes to share. They also had a pretty extensive alcohol selection.
Super attentive staff, the day I went there there was not much of a crowd. I think the lunch crowd is more hectic. Located in Kendall square, it's more towards east cambridge, leaning towards the Charles river. Price is reasonable, cocktails are reasonable as well. Very delicious food. Wait staff is attentive and knowledgeable. Wheelchair accessible as well.
Im not happy they ran out of bacon wrapped dates just as Im having my last supper in Cambridge. Patatas bravas were passable but not as tasty as Chicago's Iberico. Babareeba is supposed to be the most authentic says my student Pablo Cortez Blanco who was born in Madrid.
If you like Tapas, this has got great food. Outdoor seating is nice, my only issue is that things we're a little slow.
Great Tapas and Sangria on tap. Suggest you eat something before coming here as the small plates add up and can be pricey
Did a quick busy dinner here and the food was really good, but the wine selection is where this place shines.
Showed up for lunch on the weekend. Friendly service and tasty tapas. Fantastic decor.
Delicious. Ends up being on the expensive side since you have to order quite a few things to make a whole meal. Outdoor seating in the summer.
Trendy tapas restaurant on Kendall Square. I met up with friends here for a few hours over drinks and dinner. The menu had a nice selection of tapas, including vegetarian options. Drinks were great, and the ambiance was nice for meeting with friends. The staff was helpful and accommodating. I'd visit again.
Good tapas. Good drinks. I think the restaurant would benefit if it toned down the decor - it's a little too red and white on the walls and a little too well-lit. My tapas should be served in a half-lit room with beige stucco walls.
Really delicious food but the portions were a tad overpriced, and smaller than I expected. I know tapas are usually smaller plates but these surprised me. However, what we did get was SO delicious! The sangria was also great.
I enjoyed the food and the atmosphere, however the service was a bit slow and the pacing of the meal seemed sporadic. The red sangria was pretty good, but some of the other drinks were hit or miss (the white sangria wasn't as good).
One of the best lunch deals in Kendall Square. A wonderful Churrasco Seared Beef Tenderloin Sandwich, Spicy Chimichurri Sauce, Pimiento Peppers, Served with Mixed Greens with Light Vinaigrette for $9. Service is slow but the result is worth the wait. Sit outside if its a sunny day, but bring your sun glasses--very bright!
We visited it 2 months ago and had a good time. We went back 2 days ago. The service went downhill. Food was good, but slow. Also, the waiter seemed in a hurry all the time.
Food was average and service was not very friendly. It was an okay dinner with not much to complain about, but service could be better and food is not worth the price.
There were some interesting and delicious menu items. But like everything else in Kendall Square, everything is getting pricey.
Pros: good service, nice outdoor patio and convenient location in Kendall Sq. - Cons: small portions, bad Paella (no saffron, chicken tasted funny). The place is nice and has speedy service. I enjoyed dining in the patio during a hot summer night. I ordered paella for 2 and 2 appetizers which was barely enough. The paella was just bad, no saffron and the chicken tasted funny. Chorrizo and shrimp were ok, while the artichoke were canned (I guess their personal touch). It's a tapas place and expect portions not to be abundant.
Food is quite satisfying. I even smiled after I had had the baby lamb chops. Tips were automatically added, which I didn’t quite understand. Wasn’t it a bit impolite and unpleasant? I would have tipped a couple of dollars more. Not sure whether I will visit this place again due to their gratuity policy. After all, there are some other really good tappas around the area.
I've been there twice in the past 4 months. Both times the food and service were great. However, both times there was an off-putting odor as soon as you walk in. I'm not sure if it's an air freshener, cleaner or body spray, but it's strong and unappetizing.
Is amazing that being an " Spanish TAPAS restaurant the server don't know Spanish. The wine selection is quite limited to half a dozen wines from Spain, and the menu looks more like a fast food than an Spanish rest. Service was ok...the servers need to be more customer focus and attentive. There a lot of room for improvement.
Tapas used to be more popular in Boston. But then again, Tapas are usually not financially sustainable. This place is a typical "hit or miss" sort of venue. Don't bother. Ask around if you're really craving a good and diversified tapas experience.
The host was unwelcoming, the waiter rushed us, the food was bland and way to expensive for the quality, did not receive the exact desert I ordered which took 20mins to get to the table and to top it off, they automatically add the tip!😡 $75 for piss pour food and service. Do not waste your time or money coming here.
My fiancé and I had a dinner last night. When we walked in, we stood at the hostess desk for about 4-6 minutes with out anyone talking to us. Even though the whole place was pretty much empty and while we are watching the staff members chit chatting few from us. After all, the Salmon and lamp chop we had, it was not cooked enough, we both got sick overnight.
Terrible service. The owner, mostly playing the role of the host, is really unwelcoming and sets the tone for the rest of his staff. Really sad to see what this place has become over the last two years as they do have good food & drinks.
The food was really good. The service was horrible. The waiter would ask if we wanted something and then turn around and walk off before we had a chance to answer. Other servers in the room may have been more accommodating, but our experience made us feel extremely unwelcome. Then to top it off, our four top had automatic gratuity added to the bill.
I went to Kika Tapas on July 4th this year and I would like to share my bad experience. My boyfriend and I love to eat tapas and came across this restaurant while googling for a good restaurant around the Cambridge area. It had good reviews and it had a good location as we wanted to walk to the Charles River area to hear the Boston Pops and see the fireworks (a few blocks down). We got to the restaurant around 7:15pm and were planning on being out by 9pm to walk and see the fireworks. The restaurant looked nice and we sat outside. But then, we noticed the bad service... The waiter was trying to push more tapas on us and said "that will not be enough". He talked like if we didn't know about tapas and we explained that we've had tapas many times before and knew they were small plates. Once we had some, we order a couple more we liked to share. Then he said "I told you so" in a manner that really upset me. But that was not it... The service the whole evening was slow even though there was not many people there. So when it was close to 9pm, and we noticed we were not getting regular visits to see how we were doing, refill our waters, etc, we called the waiter and asked him to start bringing our check because we wanted to see the fireworks by the river. But to bring out check, it took another 20+ mins. So 9:30pm came and yes, we were still sitting there AND THE FIREWORKS STARTED! We could barely see them as the buildings were covering the view! Of course, our waiter show up THEN bringing the check and said, "well there are the fireworks" smiling. REALLY!? I told you all along I wanted to see them by the river and order the check upfront because of that. I was visiting from North Carolina and I was SO so bummed I missed what was going to be the biggest highlight of my trip, the Boston fireworks by the river, due to poor, slow service. I am SO upset about the service - slow and a server with an attitude and it left me with such a bad taste in my mouth about the whole experience. I will NEVER come back here and I recommend you don't either. The food was ok (I've had better tapas) and the service was horrible.
Perhaps one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. Found a piece of plastic in my first tapa, and the waiter/manager just said "oh...well that happens" WTF. Then made a condescending remark about me not confusing the pepper for a piece of plastic in my 2nd tapa. And he just straight up forgot to bring out my 3rd. Even if I were to forgive the rude service, incompetence, and random piece of plastic in my food,...the food was also just awful. Not worth eating. I've given this place several chances. And it's just gotten worse over the years. Kika...you stink
To bad to describe. When we told the waiter that the food was far away from true spanish tapas her response was “this is America” which I consider an insult to spanish speaking people. We only trued to explain to her that it was truly different fron spanish tapas. The so called “ croquetas” never in the world as far away to the true coquetas in spain as everithing in the menu. . But what can you expect from a lady that just says “this is america” never so far from the true america that welcomes all and accepts reviews or complaints from the customers to be better each time you vist the place. We have been to Madrid and Barcelona nothing so far from real tapas as this place. I would never recommend this place even to my dearest enemy. As to tips the went all the way after so bad service she told us that a tip of 15% was a policy for a party of six. The problem was that we were only 5 FIVE!!. And as she said “ This is america” well ..... it is and we have the right to disclose the bad aervice and foods on the places we go.
