Awesome local dive bar with a strong pour, pool tables , juke box always playing and the occasional riffraff. You can even bring your own food, cause they dont serve any. Taco shop next door; and a laundry mat, a grocery store and a 7.11. Look how productive you are, getting drunk!

This is a staple in Carlsbad and it seems the people who have problems are expecting something different than what Golden Tee is or are a high maintenance problem themselves. This is a dive bar and it’s meant to be a dive bar. If you want something else, go to the village or a hotel bar. The bartenders here work incredibly hard, and deal with problematic people in a swift but courteous manner. The drinks are always poured correctly, the tab is always correct. They’re professional and I have never felt unsafe here even at night stopping in by myself. Both male employees with long hair and the bald Mexican guy have always been fantastic and take care of business. Recommend this place if you’re in a no frills, calm mood just looking to be comfortable. Great job, guys!

Hidden gem. Nice people,dive bar with atmosphere. Golf game,pool table, foosball, video game and a photo booth. Dot the bartender makes a great bloody Mary and screwdriver.

I love this bar. It's a time capsule. Never changes. I live in Charleston, SC but I travel to Camp Pendleton on business and I stay in Carlsbad just so I can come back to this bar. Nice crowd, friendly people. It's what I like.

Great local dive bar. 1st time in after moving to the area, gonna be the go to if we want a quick drink and game of pool!

One of the few dive bars still around. Dated decor, relatively cheap drinks and mostly locals. No food is served here except bags of chips from behind the bar, but you can bring food in from the Mexican place next door.

Definitely a filthy dive bar!! At first the bartender was attentive, but then didn’t check on us again & I was wanting a second drink…which wasn’t happening…so we left. AND we tipped more than 20% at the beginning so that didn’t matter either 😳😜🤣

Great for a one time dive bar stop if you don't mind being charged double, contact management, be told they'll be "in-contact" with no response, then spend three weeks trying to get your money back before giving up after realizing that this place just sucks. I went here for years, watching the service deteriorate, and dealing with it, but overcharging your guests and avoiding them when they physically go to the establishment for reimbursement several times is absolutely disgusting management. I love dive bars that exist for industry workers, but this is no longer one of them.

The bartender kicked my elderly mother out of the bar for not ordering a drink right away. She has been playing pool there for years and usually gets a cranberry juice. She has been a loyal patron and did not deserve to be treated this way.

We have been to this bar many many times. With each experience getting progressively worse. We first walk in, it’s hot and smells like feet. The bartender has long black hair and is rude. Bar patrons ( specifically Asian man with long nasty black hair) Walking behind the bar! As well as starting confrontations with a service member! This is ABSOLUTELY unacceptable. Along with other patrons. And no this guy does not work there. That is extremely UNPROFESSIONAL and ILLEGAL. another drunk or high man threw his beer bottle at a woman and caused a confrontation. The bar tender did nothing. This is an unsafe place and dangerous, filled with meth heads. This place needs a bar rescues or to just be flat out shut down. Would give 0 stars if possible. We will NEVER return.

I’ve been her 3 times over the last 2 weeks I have had fun here, people and bartenders for the most part nice. Tonight, not so much. I had 2 Margaritas, and water. I tipped $9, between both. The Bartender with long black hair served me. I went to the bathroom, the Co-Ed bathroom, because the other one is for men. I found no toilet tissue, and used a seat cover, only a few left. I let this Bartender know this. I left a Clean seat cover for him to see. I am a Registered nurse for 39yrs. I brought out an unused seat cover & showed him. He said, “that isn’t my job”, and pointed to the alley, and said there is another bathroom there. This is unacceptable behavior from an Employee. I went to my seat near the pool tables, to return a text message. He walked up to me, took the rest of my drink, and said I have to leave because “I was disrespectful”, for bringing this to his attention. I paid for each margarita with Anejo Tequilla, not cheap, and tipped him $9.00 dollars. I have lived in Carlsbad for 14 years, frequent different places, because unfortunately I am getting a Divorce, and have trouble sleeping. I call it “the walk about”. I hope this doesn’t happen to another woman, not the end of the world of course, but he was very unkind to me, and didn’t care. I will not come back. Sincerely, Erin Engle. Today, Jan 1, 2023 I came again. The same guy with long hair was outside smoking. He apparently read my review, and was upset. I tried to explain “why” I wrote it. He had only excuses, no apology. Coke infested bar. When you see 3 people not all the same sex going to the bathroom and no one says anything about it. And we were approached as well if we wanted a bump. My friend wanted to go in because they have pool tables, but it was super crowded, Why it's still open amazases me. There are always fights.

Waited 10+ minutes bartenders ignoring me. Bar was not busy. Bought 2 drinks totaling $16, paid with a 20 and received no change (from the long haired bartender). Also watched the bartender in a red dale earnheart jacket give free drinks to multiple women while I couldn’t even buy one. Annoyed.
