Better than average dive bar... Four TVs, fifteen stools, twelve beers on draft, three different types of potato chips and bottomless bowls of popcorn.

Local Pub where a lot of clientele know each other. People are very friendly. Cold Beer is always ready!! Alexa & Angela are awesome Bartenders (so are the guys)!! We love to see the regular gang on Friday nights.

Just a tiny pug that is a long time staple in Carlsbad. Beers relatively cheap for the area with a friendly vibe. Bonus $2 beers everytime train goes by.

Super homey, quirky, awesome establishment. I had been coming to Carlsbad for around a year before actually stepping foot inside Village Pub, and boy was that wasted time! One of the best places in Carlsbad, hands down.

This bar is the diviest dive bar ever - which is exactly what they're going for! As some others have mentioned, it's TINY. Literally just a long, narrow bar that seats I'm guessing 12-15 people. That's it! It's dark, had a good, interesting mix of music playing, and there was a TV turned to a baseball game. We received a greeting immediately and had beers in hand fast, along with a bowl of fresh popcorn from the movie theater style machine. Why don't more businesses do this?! Genius! Seems like thus bar is loved by a good balance of both locals and curious tourists wanting to check out just how small it is. We come to the area often and will definitely be back!

Tiny, very local crowd, good fun sharing a couple beers and watching a game. It's easy to miss because it doesn't have a big ole entrance. I think there's a froyo place next to it. At least, there used to be.

Great dive bar. Bar tenders are friendly and you can tell they like their jobs. Can meet a lot of locals here. Only downside is that there are a severe lack of seats. I've been there with the entire back wall have people leaning against it.

It's a pub....kinda what you should expect. As far as pubs go, I liked this spot. Friendly atmosphere, friendly people.

I like the small town vibe of Village Pub but it was a bit run down. They should put some funds into the upkeep and maybe get a larger beer selection on draft. Service was friendly. However, I did see the bartender fill 2 beers that were ordered to be Sculpins, he filled them with 805, one all the way, the 2nd 3/4 and then topped it with Sculpin. I probably would've done the same thing, the guys ordering were pretty drunk and didn't need the extra ABV. Cash only!

Went 3 yrs ago.. da best dive bar.. went tonight Thursday- guy bartender 😏 let us know we were interrupting his nite - had zero interest in serving anybody… onto the next best bar ✌️
