Avis sur Flying Fish Dallas
I have eaten at Flying Fish a couple of times and both times it was excellent. The food was great and for the most part, has unique flavors. The staff was very friendly and service was fast. The grilled veggies are awesome. I had the fish tacos on my last visit and they were good, a lot of fish inside and the slaw on top was good too. I like the feel of the place too, customer pics on the wall and all the Billy basses everywhere up front is nifty.
When I tell you this place is phenomenal 😍 the food is fresh and hot at all times... Went on my lunch break got the whole catfish basket it was so good!!! 2 days later I had to go back 🤔 I will highly recommend this place!!!
Great place to have lunch. Food was good and margaritas are better
1st here! Great selection on the Menu to choose from. I forgot to take a picture of my order! I was too busy eating it all up! Yummo Grilled Tilapia Tacos & the Fried Catfish was great. Will definitely come back. Fast Friendly Service & Clean. Love the nostalgia atmosphere.
I just like it here. Good food, cool atmosphere and I like the bluesey kind of music.
Everything here is spectacular. Customer service, food, friendly staffs. Food is delicious. We make a point to eat here for lunch when we're in the area. Plus, super law enforcement friendly. They NEVER disappoint!!!
Amazing as always. My kids loved the grilled salmon; but I went with the grouper (garlic butter). The fried okra was awesome, and the hush puppies were hot and moist. Key Lime pie was not tart enough, but really dense and creamy with an amazing crust.
Place was fantastic. I went to place on Luther ave had whole catfish and gumbo it was exactly what I was looking for. Everything from hush puppies to beans and rice sides were hot came out fast and people were nice. They are clearing my dirty plates as I type this. I highly recommend. In a great neighborhood
Always a great lunch or dinner! Hot food, crispy catfish , grilled veggies, red beans & rice. Get the gator bites or gator queso...wow! Join the club, fill the punch card, get 2 for one dinners for buying an extra drink! SCORE!
My preferences are the fried and boiled shrimp. You get plenty of thin-cut and perfectly fried fries. The cocktail sauce is fresh and delicious. All registered customers receive a monthly Grub Club Coupon offer of BOGO Entree (up to $14.95) on the 1st Monday. You must use it by the 3rd Monday.
I’ve never tried fried catfish till this place caught my eye, but my experience is neutral since it had no flavor but it was real tender, every bite just melted in my mouth the tarter and cocktail help a lot to gulp it down but overall great service with everything probably buy the catfish here since I order 2 catfish fillets I got over sized sticks instead with fries n pups for 11.37 no drink included did not order one
The lobster stew is amazing, and the frog legs are delicious as well. I ordered a large order today because I had family coming into town, and it was hot a fresh. We also had the fried fish and shrimp. The wait time is reasonable and the employees are friendly. The lady who took my order today is always helpful and courteous. When she has time she greets people at their table and even knows some by name. Great customer service and people who care about their customers. Definitely recommend trying this location.
So funny story. I'm sitting here in Cayman island and ordered a "local catch" fried red snapper.... And it made me wonder where does flying fish get it's supply of snapper that it's better than what I just ate with this ocean views in front of me. I mean seriously, the closest thing was in Barcelo which is south of Cancun, and it still didn't match flying fish. Please try the whole snapper fried. Please.
Very reasonable priced Breakfasts. Tasty selection. A fun neighborhood morning hangout to start your day. Recommended to Seniors.
Pretty good food. My wife and I went on a date and she had the shrimp and catfish meal and I had the 4 catfish. The fillets were decent sizes and the hush puppies were amazing. I got 6 extra for $1. All in all a good place to visit.
This hidden gem of a restaurant is tucked inside one of Dallas’ premier neighborhoods, conveniently located near NorthPark Mall and Dallas Love Field Airport. I found the prices to be a great bargain compared to some of the more well-known Cajun seafood spots in the area. Not only do you get more for your money, but the restaurant also offers a modern yet local feel. The décor is thoughtfully designed, featuring local artwork and photos of fishermen from the area, adding an authentic touch. While it’s not your typical five-star restaurant that’s common in this part of town, the quality and value are outstanding—I could have easily spent $50-$60 elsewhere for a similar meal.
Favorite place. Good food. Good prices. Cajun kitchen vibe. Casual and ice cold beer on draft.
I really like this place it's located in Texas and it has a monthly coupon buy one get one free.
By far, this is my favorite spot to grab food. I was shocked when I learned it was a chain because it really doesn't ever feel like one. It is definitely worth the price—about $12 for a catfish, poor boy fries, and hush puppies—it's really hard to beat. I highly recommend any of the poor boys and tacos as well. Also, I love that they allow you to hang pictures on the wall of a big catch or successful hunt! It's super cool, and I will always be a customer! If you are traveling to DFW and want a convenient and inexpensive taste of southern seafood and soul food, this is a great option!
Love this place. Very laid back. Like your going to an old fashioned Southern Fish Fry. Great grilled seafood plates. Love all the different options. If you have never been, make sure you bring Billy Bass singing fish 🤣 The "lake trash" dessert is absolutely delicious. Of course you have to have it a la mode!!!
Wednesday is all-you-can-eat catfish. The fish are thick and flaky pieces.
First time ordering boil from here, let me tell you, it was AMAZING!!! Crawfish was spicy but the right amount of spicy. The corn and potatoes were great, both tasted fresh. It was my first time eating crawfish so I got a little 1 on 1 on how to eat it lol. Great customer service from both the ladies that answered my million questions. I’ll be a regular from now on 😋
2nd time coming here to eat with my father. Great place, food is always fresh and service is awesome too.
If your in real estate it’s a great place to grease palms, but gosh darn the food is about as mid as it gets.
Really like this place, I go at least once a month. Join their awards program and get a free meal once a month.
Super awesome staff. Knowledgeable on the menu and recommended some great dishes. I chose the catfish tacos! 🌮 The rice and beans were good, but I think the next time I will order something else. I didn’t like the crunchy shells for the tacos. Not ideal for fish for me. Soft corn tortillas in my opinion would be better. Just my thoughts on that. But still good.
Red fish was greasy and fresh not enough season. It has a fresh taste
I've been a customer there for about three years, and all I gotta say about this place is that not only that their food is great, but they also provide an outstanding customer service! Although, the environment of the restaurant may be unique, but that doesn't stop me from visiting this place again as it is one of the greatest seafood restaurants I've been to! Their catfish combo, frog legs, cajun fries, and spicy gator poboy sandwich are a way to go (just saying)! Update: I went back there two days ago, and thanks to a young lady's friendly service, I would be more than happy to give this place more than 5 stars, if I had the option to! Food is great, as always, but Syrena's (I think that was her name) service was the greatest! Definitely will be coming here more often!!
Tried this place for breakfast. I thought the whole atmosphere was great. Ordering was done at the register and you get a buzzer for when your food is ready. I got the gumbo and grits. It was so good. What a match that I would have never thought of. The gumbo was a little salty but mixed together with the grits it balanced out. I thought the atmosphere was pretty cool. After having enjoyed my breakfast so muchI would love to come back sometime and try the lunch/dinner menu here.
Fresh fish and oysters! Old school atmosphere and very laid back and reasonable. This is one of our favorite spots!
The grilled trout, red beans & rice is terrific; friendly staff, clean, nicely priced.
Wonderful atmosphere that truly respect its Caujun Roots so elegant that it gives europhic sensations each bite. Coming from the South East ... AYE BOI THAT GUMBO ....OUTTTTTTA THIS WORLD. Also big shout out Chef MiKa .....he holds it down n throws Down in the back & keeps a good crew as well. SoFlo 954 Broward
Yunni’s greeting was so warm and welcoming! She went above and beyond to answer my questions about allergens with a smile on her face. All the staff here was amazing and this is how my fav fish place to go! Highly recommend! Thanks girls!
Makes seafood the star. The menu is packed with fresh options—sushi, oysters, and creative specials that don’t feel like copy-paste. Portions are generous without being overkill, and the flavors are clean, bright, and well-balanced. The atmosphere walks the line between casual and upscale, so it works for a date night or just treating yourself. Service is quick, staff know their stuff, and the cocktails pair perfectly. Prices lean higher, but the quality justifies it.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 So Fun and So Yummy! 🐟🍤🍟 We LOVE Flying Fish! The fish on the walls make it such a fun place to eat — you can’t help but smile when you walk in! 🎣 The catfish is crispy and delicious, the French fries and hush puppies are the perfect sides, and we especially love making our own cocktail sauce just the way we like it! 😋🔥 It’s always a good time and good food at Flying Fish. We can’t wait to come back! 🐠🍽️❤️
I ordered the Trout Almondine with grilled vegetables and red beans and rice. I added pico de gallo and tartar sauce. I filled an insulated to go cup with Sprite from the soda fountain. I just had a total knee replacement surgery two months ago and was about to go back to the hospital the next morning for a knee manipulation under anesthesia procedure. I wanted a light meal and this meal didn't disappoint! One of the employees opened the door for me when they saw that I was using a cane for support. Once the meal was ready to pickup at the front, I asked the cashier if he could bring the tray to my table. He was friendly and helpful. Everyone was very hospitable at this location including other customers. I enjoyed eating my dinner and then left. I had intended to have leftovers for the next day, but I ended up eating almost everything on my plate. It was a good choice for a pre surgery meal.
Wow, talk about throwback, loved the atmosphere of the place, the food was excellent and fast service. Great music while you eat also. Their grilled menu is to die for. I've eaten here numerous times and mostly do grilled. So far, the grilled grouper is my fave. highly recommended, and I will go back. They serve some great breakfast also, cut off is 10:30
Very delicious seafood spot in a very nice area located in a glamorous shopping center. Everyone here is dressed dapperly but casual clothing is perfectly fine. The employees are very friendly and will help you decide what food to order of your new. I definitely recommend the catfish.
Grilled shrimp salad, crawfish, gumbo, jambalaya & frozen margaritas are faves. The atmosphere is eclectic, cozy, and you can tell the regulars love it. Fun place for a date night or dinner out with friends. Their spicy Mexican shrimp cocktail was chock full of luscious fresh shrimp too. This place can easily be labeled a must-go with the history on the walls, phenomenal fresh seafood, welcoming and super friendly staff and just plain fun you have at Flying Fish. 10/10 recommend a visit to experience it!
Have loved the flying fish for fried catfish but lately the size of their filets has gotten ridiculously tiny. I can put two filets in the palm of my hand without them hanging off. Still taste great but very disappointing for the price. I don't recommend the flying fish any longer due to this.
Straight up great fish fry joint with an excellent breakfast, well known among HP-area business execs. Family friendly and easy
Neat place!! Went for breakfast with our classic truck club and the front seating had plenty for our group. The place is set up as a walk up order then they give you a pager to to back and get your food. I got the seafood gumbo omlete. Very tasty and full of flavor. Basically a cheese omlete with gumbo poured over the top. Not spicy hot. Friend got just basic eggs and sausage and said it was good. Sausage wasn't spicy almost bland. The prices extremely reasonable considering it's location. My omlete with hash browns and a coffee. $10. Would absolutely go back. Fun atmosphere and good food.
The Preston Center location is my favorite Flying Fish location. The service was great and the mud bugs and crab were delicious! I will go and grab some more crab and shrimp for sure. The mud bugs were good....but a bit small....but it was early in the season. No biggie...still good. I will go back again. It is located in an area where there is a ton of places to shop and eat and snack. Great location and great seafood.
Some of the BEST fish 🐟 I've had in the country!! It was worth the DART #36 bus ride from downtown. We ordered the Tilapia and Salmon; both double protein meals. Granted, they both were a little over $40 together, but since we were from up north, we didn't mind paying this time. Had we lived in Dallas, we might not want to pay this all the time.
Saturday the food tasted fresh, hot, and delightful! Sunday (today) was half of that… Both orders were made online! However, what’s the point of giving a selection for sweet tea, if you’re only going to give unsweetened tea???!!!
Wonderful food and customer service. My mom and I here and other locations a few times a month for almost 2 decades. The only issue I have at the Luther lane location is the horrible seating arrangement which is nonfunctional during busy lunch hours.. Second, the restrooms smell so bad, the stench of the sulfur/poop billows into the main dining area. There has been an ongoing plumbing issue at this location for years and it’s getting worse and worse. Almost lost my appetite and had to sit near the busy front door area for clean, fresh air. Please contact whomever you’re leasing from to fix/update the bathrooms. I’m pretty sure you are paying TOP dollar in rent in this zip code, bathrooms need to match.
So this is my Dad’s go to lunch spot. He loves this place and the buy 8 get 1 free punchcard. The atmosphere is pretty awesome and authentic with some great photos of fishermen on the walls along with wacky signs. The catfish is good although I found the batter to be a little bland, but the fish is fresh and flakey. Great hush puppies and onion rings. Definitely get the o-rings over the fries. It has a comprehensive menu and also serves breakfast until 10:30am and they sell beer and margaritas for the drinking and dinner crowd.
I enjoyed across this location a few years ago and decided to gove this place a try because my wife wanted fish. This place is spacious, welcoming and has plenty seating inside and out on the patio. My wife and I ordered the fish & shrimp basket. There is an option for 4 shrimp & 2 fish and I got it to go. As I waited I admired the decor of this location and its features with large windows to enjoy the scenery. They also had an area for private dining. The menu displayed endless selection of seafood and other items. The service quick and patient with me as this was my first time here. Home: We enjoyed our baskets. The fish was fried to perfection and flakey. But it needed a touch more of seasoning. I love the French fries but my wife did not care for the style of fries cooked. I mean ... it is a matter of preference. The shrimp were the perfect size and delicious. The hush puppies were tasteless. The price was fitting for what I bought. Overall- I would go back to try a different dish
Counter-service fish place, good menu, great rewards program. If you’re looking for good and cheap, this is it. Mostly indoor seating, a few tables outdoor. This location also listed breakfast available in the morning starting at 7a. The Plano location and the Cypress Waters location are much nicer; this one is a bit more crowded. Certainly not ‘fancy.’ This is not a place to bring your date; this is a place to bring your spouse when you want a good meal and you’re ’house poor.’
Busy place, okay fish. Had the grill rainbow trout. No favor, dry. Mexican cocktail was not very good. A lot of sauce with onions, avocado and some shrimps. Nothing Mexican about it. Not worth the $12. Catfish basket was very fishy. Poor boy Gator had No flavor. The only good thing with the hush puppies. Friendly staff, busy kitchen.
This is an oldie but goodie neighborhood staple. Last here over 10 years ago and it’s exactly the same (in the best way). The decor and setup is wharf-style: you walk in, place your order, then wait for your buzzer to go off when your food is ready. The staff is down-to-earth and helpful. I ordered the fried catfish with fries with coleslaw. The catfish was undercooked and too soft for my liking, but the fries could rival McDonald’s, crispy and addictive. The coleslaw was chunky, creamy, simple, and good. I also ordered a half-pound of snow crab on the side and it was so good. Fresh, meaty, and paired with a perfectly salty, delicious butter. Despite the hiccup with the catfish, the nostalgia alone made this visit worth it.
This is a quick service establishment. You order at the register and pick up your food when it's ready. You seat yourself. The cashier was nice and helpful. The decor is reminiscent of a fishing shack ... cute. The fried pickles are good! The fish and fries need seasoning. The food tasted like they battered it...put in grease and then put it on your plate. No seasoning. Bring your on seasoning, and you'll be OK
I recently visited this location with a business associate to pick up our food, and we decided to dine in as the restaurant was not busy. However, we were told by the manager, "If it were busy, I wouldn’t allow you to sit here and eat." This was after the lunch rush, and the restaurant was nearly empty. We intentionally chose one of the smaller tables, being mindful not to occupy space meant for larger parties. Throughout our meal, the manager continued to watch us, which made the experience uncomfortable. This was surprising, as we’ve dined in and ordered takeout from this establishment before without any issues. Given the lack of other patrons, it’s unclear why this situation arose, but the manager's behavior felt unprofessional and unwelcoming.
How did this place get good reviews? We visited at 9 pm. The food was not fresh. Ordered crab legs and immediately after receiving my food I could smell that it wasn't fresh. Corn was old and we returned the food no refund had to order something else no apologies were offered. By 10:05 they was mopping around us and putting up the chairs. My friends stay in the neighborhood and it was our first time trying will definitely not be visiting again. The staff needs to be retrained on customer service. We should have eaten at a different place. The restaurant next door seemed more appealing.
If you don’t know how to cook crawfish, don’t serve them. This order was dry, not properly seasoned, and most importantly had not been purged before boiling.
I dont know where all of these 5 star reviews are coming from. Maybe other locations? I visited the Preston Center location this afternoon and it was not great at all. 3 people at the table, all had the same experience. Food was subpar. We actually got up and left our full plates to walk down a few shops and grab some tacos. Do not recommend.
When I walk in to pickup my food from the designated area and instead of greeting me the cashier watches me and ask if that’s my food. lol I used my card and my name is specified as the person the food was made for. My main issue is I’ve frequented this place on lunch a few times and never saw them ask anyone else that. I just placed a work lunch order here yesterday for Jeff and decided to eat here today but yea I’ll leave it to the crowd you are accustomed to. I like to spend my money where I’m appreciated.
Everywhere you go, prices keep rising while quality goes down. I recently ordered the Snapper Veracruz, and what I received was completely disappointing. The first picture shows what I actually got—a soggy, over-fried piece of fish with no sauce. One side was dry and hard, the other soggy and scaly, with no flavor at all. The second picture is what they advertise on their website, which looks nothing like what I was served. And for $35, that’s unacceptable.
Go to Big Shucks where they have fresher food and no funky smell with fairer portions and prices. They sell you a 14$ basket and it's mostly frozen bagged fries. They're not even fresh fries. The filet is small. Their taco plate has more food for the same price. So for the same price you get 3x the protein and no stale frozen fries. Great for my grandpa's meal but left me hungry. I threw the fries away because they were just hard and not very good. It's better to buy frozen fries at the store and make them yourself so you don't get something that's been sitting out and overcooked with soggy grease. Their customer service is awful. I live 20 minutes away and their solution is I can spend 40 minutes there and back for a refund. Really? So I spend 40+ on food from them and half my order is two cups of frozen french fries that are limp and luke warm with lots of grease. The place smelled like old fish when you walk by before you even walk in.
