This was an amazing spot 10/10! Patrick was our server amazing service, waiting for our flight we came in with suitcases which he took care for us, waters straight away, wait time for what we ordered matches quality for sure!
Thanks to BrewDog and their Beer Geek awards we were treated to an amazing lunch at Briar Common. The owners and chef let us try a number of their brews and snacks, as well as delicious main courses. The atmosphere was so relaxing and the service was so nice. I definitely recommend this spot if you're looking for good beer and good food. The buffalo cauliflower was easily my favorite. The Chicken & Waffles were a huge hit with our group.
Beer was great! It's what I went for, I did however get the Shawarma, which was pretty good but it was super wet, by the time I was done with it I had a puddle of water on my plate. So it is kind of a mess.
Holy s**t! Chris killed it. The food was phenomenal. The drinks were epic. The humming bird was a fantastic infused gin. The burgers were to die for. The whole menu is fantastic. The Brussels were amazeballs. I had the pastrami sandwich. The Reuben was on point. The fries! The chips! The relish! The food here was epic. I can't express how tasty the food is here. They are delivering some of the best food and drinks I've had in a long minute. Very pleased.
GET THEIR CAULIFLOWER WINGS!! I have been dreaming about going back to get their wings. Their rooftop is awesome and I can’t wait to go back and get more great food with my friends. Shoutout to their staff as well, very fun, and amazing group 🙌🥳 For more denver recommendations follow me on here or checkout my Instagram : Audrey.Pulliam
Just the cutest place with a lovely rooftop area in the River district. The food was delicious and they even split our salad into two plates. It was yummy, great vibe here. Liquor is served too if you want.
All the happiness in one place. This place has gluten free food and ciders! We sat up top outside with strung up lights and a breeze. There is a park across the street and this place is just perfect. The food was really good, surprisingly amazing buffalo cauliflower and incredible home made chips! I got the burger and I loved the gluten free bun. The has great kids mac'n'cheese as well. Our server was wonderful, he had a sense of humor, took our orders quickly, constantly bright water and was very professional. I highly recommend!
Loved it here! Great food- get the buffalo cauliflower. My friend and I both enjoyed the brussel sprouts. They even have mocktails which was a nice surprise and very tasty. The service was fast, friendly, and outstanding- we never saw the bottom of our glass. We came on a Saturday and it was packed so I’m glad we had a reservation. I’ll be back this summer for the rooftop patio.
Located pretty close to downtown Denver, this place has a lot to offer. We were sitting in outside patio and we really enjoyed food and service. They have a good selection of beer and very good menu. The service was excellent and even though we went there on Friday evening, we didn’t have to wait. For vegetarian people, they also have good options, such as cauliflower, wings, mac & cheese, and veggie burger with homemade patty
Love popping into the place for a beer or a bite. The staff has always been great and the beers are good as well. Easy to miss, but that’s what makes it a hidden gem in Jeff park. Pro tip, if you’re going to the Broncos game and planning to stop here for a beer, do yourself a favor and give yourself some extra time. This is so close to the stadium that a lot of people frequent here as a favorite spot.
This place is absolutely delicious. I love fries and order them at almost every restaurant.. these fries were top 3 out of anywhere I’ve gone. So crispy without the grease that usually can accompany them. The fried chicken sandwich (I opted for Nashville style) was spicy yet sweet because of some sort of honey they also put on it. I am 100% coming back here and I hope if you’re reading this review you will come here and try it for yourself!
Fantastic little brewery around the corner from our hotel. The staff is fantastic. They went above and beyond to get us our food and drinks as quickly as possible so we could make our event that evening. Would definitely recommend stopping by if you are in the area. Now for my standard comments. This location is clean and well kept. Indoor seating is comfortable.
My first time at Briar Common. I will be back and back again. From the minute we walked in the door we were welcomed with big smile and a table instantly. I had the fish and chips and friend had Ahi Tuna salad. Both were over the top delicious. Last, but certainly not least, Patrick was awesome. Great service!! Thank you so much for a great experience!
Stopped by for some food and drinks before the Metallica concert; great choice! The food was delicious, and the service really stood out. Patrick and Lars were super friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. Would definitely come back!
Patrick provided excellent customer service! The food was really good — we had the classic burgers and the ‘EARTH TO MÄRZEN’ to drink. Everything was delicious and the experience was great!
Only had a pretzel with beer cheese to eat. Quick service in a great atmosphere. Everyone seemed to be having fun and enjoying the place. Didn't get to try the rooftop area, will try to go back for that later. Tried several beers with our group enjoyed them all. Made it back to sit outside on the rooftop. Great view of the park and had great service again.
Love this neighborhood spot! I haven’t visited in a bit so we came tonight. My husband always gets a Reuben. I decided to try the Pork Katsu, a newer menu item and it is HUGE lol. Also delicious as usual. Great bartenders and service too.
We wen't twice in December... a weekday lunch and then for an evening dinner. Good service both times. Enjoyed a flight of their beer offerings, which was very tasty. The club sandwich was recommended and enjoyed! Both times, we ordered the cauliflower with blue cheese and bbq sauce - yummy! For dinner, we had the fish and chips (fries)...fish was cooked well. Had to request the malt vinegar, which oddly came out in a bowl. But otherwise, good. Small space, twinkle lights, cozy atmosphere, and super cute.
Today I’m with my team in Highland neighborhood doing promo work for Headband Movers and we decided to stop at Briar Commons for some brews! The brews were super refreshing and the staff were awesome! If you’re in the area I highly recommend stopping by for a quick beer or sit down for lunch!
This place NEVER disappoints me. It's my 2nd time here and another great time. This time i went on a Sunday Brunch. Again I ordered my favorite appetizer called The Buffalo Cauliflower and I'm normally not a fan of anything Cauliflower but WOW this is delicious! The sauce makes it the best and it's not like spicy at all even though it's Buffalo sauce and then melted blue cheese mixed with that Buffalo sauce is to die for. My mouth waters thinking about it. It's a big portion so at least 4 people can share. Also had the Colorado Benedict and the pork belly was very tender, very yummy dish. My wife had the black bean burger which was just so so she said. Drinks were super yummy and lots of choices amongst beer as well. Definitely recommend this place BUT MAKE SURE you make reservations because it's always packed .
1st visit & loved it! Incredible neighborhood spot and great place for any reason. The Buffalo cauliflower is a large app perfect for sharing. It's saucy! The grilled ham & cheese plus tomato bisque was a wonderful combo! Fulfilling choice for the colder Temps. The Scottish Ale was malty, easy drinking and flavorful. Can't wait to go back for their burgers and other brews!
We had lunch on the deck We had fast and friendly service, throughout our whole lunch. The Buffalo Cauliflower starter was tastefully balanced. It wasn’t too spicy or tart. Delicious! The Reuben sandwich and homemade potato chips were great! The caprese burger was amazing! It had mozzarella cheese and a tangy tomato jam! Very unique! Seating outside on the deck was perfect! Great location near the Aquarium, Childrens museum and Broncos stadium. Highly recommend for beer and uniquely crafted burgers, sandwiches and other dinner entrees!
Amethyst, Marina and Ryan were all top tier players in our fantastic experience at Briar Commons. We each had a strawberry rhubarb blonde beer, shared the buffalo cauliflower app and the fried chicken sandwich. Between the A+ hospitality, excellent service and delicious food, we came back a second time for the same meal over again. Briar Commons will definitely be a stop every time we come to Colorado! Thank you so much!!
👌🏼 Food went beyond expectations. Best Ahi salad I’ve ever had, and all the food and drinks were great. Service was also on point which says a lot since most places are really struggling with that nowadays. Overall a great experience for our group who was out celebrating a couple birthdays! 😊
As an aspiring vegetarian / practicing pescatarian, chicken wings are one of those things I miss. This place has THE BEST Buffalo cauliflower I've ever had. I'm not sure what they did, but the wing sauce almost tasted like it had stock or something in it, the outsides were crispy like a wing would be; and I didn't feel like I was eating cauliflower. They do a blue cheese dressing on the bottom of the plate and it was creamy mild and delicious! 😍 We had the brussel sprouts as an appetizer as well and they were phenomenal! The drinks were super tasty and very fresh. I had the fish and chips sandwich and it was pretty tasty. It's a big little sandwich packed with a decent size piece of house beer battered cod, French fries, coleslaw and tartar. It comes with a side of fries and I got some of their truffle aoli to dip then in. 😋 I feel like it was, A: Almost too big for anyone smaller than me to fit in their mouth. (It's a towering little sandwich) B: the bread was almost too much. I really wish they just offered fish and chips. (It was so tasty and I would love to try the tartar alone with the fish and maybe some malt vinegar) C: the tartar was overpowered by the coleslaw and brioche bun making the sandwich almost too sweet. Overall the sandwich was still very good, just lacking in areas. All in all the experience was wonderful. The atmosphere was great, the restaurant is beautiful and the patio looked splendid for a nice summer day. The service was a little slow, but it's definitely meant to be a casual dining experience, so really no complaints, just expect to have free time to enjoy your company.
Great neighborhood hangout. Very friendly energetic vibe. Large portions. Good cocktails and decent prices make it worth the visit
Really loved the vibe of this place. Admittedly, there was some issues with food temperature but it was all taken in stride. Portions are very generous and the beer list has some fun options. The stout brewed with locally roasted coffee was quite good.
We had such a great experience at Briar Common, thanks to our server Sarah! She was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made us feel so welcome from the moment we sat down. She checked in at all the right times, gave great recommendations, and had such a positive, genuine energy. Sarah truly elevated our experience and made our meal even more enjoyable. We can’t wait to come back and hope to have her as our server again!
Briar Patch is my new favorite place!! The service was absolutely first class- Jeff and Elle are amazing servers, super fun but professional. The drinks are splendid and the burgers are some of the best in Denver… scrumptious. All around a perfect experience. I can’t wait to come back! Cheers!
This place is one of the most perfect brewpubs in the country! Greg brews top notch beers, particularly his Belgians. The food is excellent and fits the food nicely. There is a full bar for my non-beer drinking friends, and all of the staff is friendly and helpful.
We hung out here for around three hours and it was great! The pomegranate spritz and the wings were incredible. Also, always a plus when you can easily hear the other people you are with since the music isn’t too loud. Overall, 10/10!
Everything was a 10/10 regarding my event here. I was a complicated person asking for a lot of assistance prior to the event, and they always came to me with patience and clear help! When it actually came to the event, everything was perfect. The bartender was 10/10 in being quick, efficient, and fun, and the food was ready, hot and restocked. The food was great, everyone loved it. We overall had a rowdier packed event, and they handled us so so well. Would HIGHLY recommend this for your next event. Thank you to the Briar team for making my engagment party unforgettable and SEAMLESS !!
The food was SO GOOD. We ordered several appetizers, mostly vegetarian, and they were all so delicious. We enjoyed everything we ordered (buffalo cauliflower, chicken schwarma, nachos, Brussels sprouts, broccolini), holy smokes-top notch. The service was also stellar.
I don't remember the name of the server. I visited this place some time ago, but his service was clean and friendly, offered us tastes of all the beers they had so we could pick the one we liked the most. The truffle fries were crispy and well seasoned, my burger was incredible. Thanks dude.
Nice little spot! The beers are great and the food is delicious. My husband had the chicken sandwich — it was so flavorful he almost ate his fingers! I had the eggs Benedict; the flavors were definitely there, but the egg could have been a little runnier. The rooftop patio is a great place to hang out, with a nice view of the park. Highly recommended!
Great brew pub. Went here before the Broncos Pats game for a couple of pregame beers and saw others with food. It looked great and we ordered and it was fabulous. Fried chicken sandwich was chicken thighs that were pounded and marinated in a sweet honey barbecue sauce, fried and topped with a homemade coleslaw. Among the best chicken sandwiches I have had and the price was very reasonable. Buddy got the turkey club and it was loaded with freshly carved turkey breast. Beer was good but this place is worth visiting for the food. If I lived here, I would be eating here often.
The food here is surprisingly good but the beer is even better. Highly recommended if you are in the area.
I had the Ruben with the rosemary fries. The sandwich was great, and fries tasted like fries that were cooked with some one yelling Rosemary! I'm a different room. The service was fantastic.
Food looked very attractive but was a bit underwhelming on taste. Service was quick and attentive. Happy hour options were not great. Beer was okay.
My husband and I came here on a beautiful afternoon and enjoyed sitting on their patio. We shared: - Buffalo Cauliflower - Buff and Bleu Burger - Crispy Brussels Sprouts Everything was good. The Buffalo Cauliflower was my favorite thing. I was very surprised how big of a portion this was. It seemed like an entire head of cauliflower. I would order this as an entree or with a large group to share.
Great staff and atmosphere, solid brews, and really good food (if a little pricey). Really enjoyed my beers, brewed here (especially the slightly spicy Sour Seoul!!). The menu is pushing it a bit in price (like $18 for a burger and fries, if you want those instead of chips), but they do give you a sizeable portion and everything tasted really great. You can tell from the menu descriptions that the chef puts in a little extra creativity to elevate each dish above the basic. Located in a cool area, right next to Jefferson Park- and they have a nice patio on the second floor that overlooks it! There was little or no AC on the 90+° day I went (it was slightly cooler inside at least), so be prepared to sweat a little if it’s a hot day!
We visited for lunch and cocktails as part of an anniversary trip. Generally we enjoyed our visit. The drinks were the best part. Chris was our bartender and walked us though the various homemade beers and infused spirits. The infused bourbon was great. We also liked our brussel sprouts. Unfortunately, the kitchen was terribly slow. The restaurant wasn't full, but it still took over 40 minutes for a beer-bq burger and a bean burger. My wife did enjoy her house made black bean burger and her beer flight. We recommend the restaurant and would come back on a day we have a lot of time to spare.
The food is amazing, but get a reservation if you want to eat here on the weekend. Took 30 minutes to get a drink and 1hr 15min to get food. Saw multiple other tables come in, get served, and leave while we waited for our food, so I think the bar tables are just a bit invisible here. Will come back regardless
Briar Common would stand as an impressive brewery alone, making a wide range of styles and crafting some tasty beers. (You can't go wrong with the Hoptimist, FWIW.) But it really separates itself with its very good food offerings. And as an added bonus, it is very family-friendly.
The service I give it 5 stars but unfortunately the food was not that great, don't get me wrong I don't want to sound like a Karen but the food didn't have taste at all. The place is super cute and nice it's just a bummer that for being my first time here the food looks good but doesn't taste good.
First, I want to start positive. They were super busy when we went. The staff were kind and personable, which was unique for a place so busy on a Friday night. The staff should be given a raise and commended for being so incredible and keeping up with everything like they did. The atmosphere was nice, but it was so crowded that people were bumping into each other, just leaving their seats and navigating in the restaurant. The first thought that popped into my mind was if seating inside was even up to fire code. The food was rough. I got the fried chicken sandwich. It was so sweet and drenched in honey on the outside that it was nearly unpalatable, but it was also very dry on the inside. The fries were solid. My wife got the boursin steak, which was served cold. Apparently, it was supposed to be. All this being said, if I was twenty-something and looking for a place to drink and hang with friends, the place would be great. For a sit-down meal to try something new, not so much.
Hate to leave a mediocre review because our server Alex was the best- brought samples of 4 different beers and was just an all around amazing waiter. My Nashville chicken sandwich was so meh, though. It had honey on it, which isn’t Nashville style at all, and absolutely zero spice. None. Dunno what the cook was taught, but it was not Nashville whatsoever. I could forgive all of that, though, if it hadn’t been so overcooked and thus super dry. Alex asked if everything tasted ok and I lied because I was so hungry. I couldn’t wait for another meal to be prepared. Maybe because it was NYE the regular cook wasn’t in the kitchen? I can forgive that but still I probably wouldn’t ever order a chicken sandwich again there.
We absolutely love Briar Common, don’t get us wrong. But when the restaurant is barely full and TWO LOUD WOMEN AT THE BAR are generating enough volume to fill the entire restaurant, yeah that’s terrible. And the bartenders need to quit encouraging it. I get this sounds like a “Karen” review, but it shouldn’t. If you’re going to brunch, you don’t want to pay money and not even be able to hear your own conversation because of TWO people. The other tables around us were equally annoyed and left, just like we did, because of them. Gross.
The nastiest bartenders and staff. We walked in at 7pm and they were sooooo rude about telling us to get out because they we’re closing. I totally understand if you’re closing but we were from out of town and didn’t know - saw the lights on and went to check it out - not only did you discourage all our local friends from coming back but you kind of ruined our night in Denver. So many other options so I’d advise going with another choice.
I came by last night to grab a bite and a beer. I was too late as the kitchen had closed early. The barmaid was very kind and apologetic. I said I would be back today. She was not behind the bar when I arrived, but she greeted me and thanked me for returning. I sat at the and Alec(?) came up to me a few minutes after I settled in. He was friendly and let me taste a few beers before I decided that I would start with the Mexican larger and then have the pale ale with dinner and finish with a whiskey. I got the fall soup to start. It was good, but not outstanding. I then asked his recommendation for dinner. Unfortunately his initial suggestions were not to my mood or had bacon (which I don’t do even thought I agree it is delish). He had already started to disengage with me and I had to ask questions a couple of times. I looked over my shoulder to see if he were more concerned about something behind me. He told me that a lot of people like the Ruben and that it is good. Look, it didn’t suck, buuuuut I have had many better Ruben’s on the west side alone. I asked him what kind of fries that had… he said French fries. I said no I mean are they shoestring or thin or thick or…? He said thick. They are not. Somewhere between shoestring and thin. What a disappointment. Not my “cup of tea”. For the crowing capper? He never asked if I wanted another beer. He looked at my glass a couple of times - I told him in the beginning what I was going to order - he just didn’t seem to care. Even when I was done and had pushed my plate to his side if the bar and had my card out he served two other drinks and checked out the guy next to me before he took care of me. I left a measly 19% tip (I never tip less than 30% and often even more). Please note, dear reader, that they were not busy. This is no way to earn my business. I shall not return.
