I've been in J.J. Dakota's a long time ago, however I can tell you that the parking lot & the bar is packed with people because I went in 2 times whenI saw all of the cars.
Came here on a Tuesday. The staff was great. The price for pool was excellent. The price for shiner was excellent. They also had karaoke going. Will definitely come back again.
Prices are great, staff is super friendly and awesome. My favorite place to shoot pool in Fort Worth. Definitely have them make you some caprisuns. You won't regret it I promise.
Love this place so much! Totally a chill place to relax, have a drink, play some pool or people watch, listen to some good music. Great prices too!
Had my birthday party on July 9th and everything was great 💯💯 loved it
I haven't been there in perhaps a year. Prior it was my go to. The tables are slightly under par from Rustys up the road but it depends on the individuals preferences as they are nearly half the cost and are still weekly tournament capable. Drink prices are great and for a bar atmosphere its there its definitely a billiards hall as they have tables, foosball, darts, shuffle board. The bar staff are friendly, the regulars are aswell. Like any establishment they arent liable for what kind of clientele happens to show up on a random Saturday night. But as for standard customers concerns they're a 5 star establishment.
We go to watch the pool tournaments. Everyone knows Everyone, staff knows most people. Clean, no smoking inside!
I shared my birthday here and the bartender was a delightful man. Thank u for making my night. The place was great 😊
I have been a patron for about 20 years, and I would not change a thing. Great service and drinks! Frank is the best bartender ever!
I hadn't been in 20 years, but it hasn't changed much. Just a cool place to have a drink and shoot some pool.
JJ Dakotas is my go to pool hall. Staff is friendly and doesn't put up with difficult people. I've been coming here 1-2 times a week for the past month. It's my new favorite hang spot. Drinks are good and the tables are well priced.
Fun place to hang out! The bartenders were great and the prices are right! Plenty of pool tables and TVs and other games. They don’t serve food but allow food to be brought in (no drinks though, for obvious reasons)
It's low key, concrete floors and lots of tables. The people working there are friendly, the patrons having fun but not intrusive. Even better, ice cold Shiner Bock beer on tap.
It was a chill hang out. Friendly staff and amazing drink prices. Recommend bringing your own pool stick though. We will definitely be going back.
Bullcrap on the BS awful reviews! This place rocks! People just want to have a good time and chill! Bartenders are amazing! Y'all rock!
Great place to play pool! But it's so damn cold in this play you could hang meat!

Ok as a woman you go into a bathroom this is that bathroom you want to be in. It is like QT bathroom on Crack. You meet amazing people in there, it always smells good and bonus they actually keep up with cleaning and refilling the TP rolls without being asked. Oh and an amazing pool hall and bar! If us girls are being honest the bathroom is the make it or break it! Omg and the staff here is hands down the best!!
JJ Dakota’s is hands down the best pool hall in Fort Worth. Plenty of tables, lots of space, and the atmosphere is just right—well lit and comfortable. The vibes are always good, and Bill, the owner, is incredibly kind and welcoming. The bar is a great touch for those who want to enjoy a drink while shooting pool. I’ve only ever had great experiences here—highly recommend!
Great service for a quick chill out while waiting on our truck to get maintenance.
Jess was the bartender, it was my first time there the Bar back’s name was Tristan and honestly it was cheap drinks. Super fast customer service great great people to be around just a solid 11 out of 10 experience for me. Jess and Tristan made it such a phenomenal experience for me because they were just so on top of everything
I went to JJ Dakota’s to watch the cotton bowl classic. My partner and I had a fantastic time. TVs are a little small, bathroom is a little rundown, but the prices were fair. After a tip I think I spent 60 dollars for two mixed drinks, 6 Dos Equis, and two hours of table time. Some things that happened I appreciated was there was an annoying man being obnoxious, he got cut off, continued to be annoying and the staff kicked him out pretty quick. We rented a table but decided to drink a little first, a group came and put their purses and coats on the pool table we were going to use. Before I was able to addressed the group and tell him to move, a staff member quickly came and had them move which I thought was nice. The bar has a long list of rules posted near the door, I agreed with most of them. Overall I had a great time.
The staff here is really awesome. The tables are well taken care of and play really well. Drinks are priced well, and it's a cool little spot to hang out and shoot some pool. We go with a big group and usually get 2 tables right next to each other. Great place to go with friends.
First time was last night with my lady. Walked in & were greeted quickly by the bartender Frank. He explained the house rules & made us feel welcomed. Crowd was very sociable & we made a few new acquaintances. Will definitely be going back soon
Awesome spot for pool. The bartenders are friendly and the best. Good sized crowd most of the time. Thanks JJs
I love that it's not too crowded. And everyone gets along. Always have a great time when I go. Recommend!
We absolutely love going to JJs! Paige & I have been going for over a year and we love the bartenders and the regulars we get to come out and see occasionally. Very uplifting environment. I encourage anyone and everyone to go out and enjoy some pool and drinks and just have a good time!
Jessica the bartender quite literally saved my chocolate starfish from a really creepy machinist knife enthusiast who wanted to take me to his house so he could "sharpen my knives like a man", I'm not a bigot or homophobic at all. This odd fellow just had serious Buffalo Bill vibes kicking, and I didn't want to get the hose again...it's just too soon since last time. But other than that, a very pleasant experience.

Pretty cool and chill place. You can go in by yourself and usually get some random conversation if you want. People are friendly and like talking, kind of like a dive bar, but it’s very well lit with quite a large beer selection.
Plenty of pool tables, pretty locals heavy crowd, but our bartender was nice and we felt welcome. Drinks are priced nicely.
Good pool place, decent tables. No food but will let you bring your own. Soda's are way over priced and served in a dixie cup with no refills.
I really liked this place a lot! They aren't exactly a cocktail lounge but the bar hosts a great variety and the prices are very reasonable. Actually, they are downright low prices. And the bartender was great. I wish I could remember his name but he sure did an excellent job and had a very good personality. The atmosphere is also excellent! You can tell this is the kind of place where the regulars have been going for a long time. It is smoke-free inside (yes!) which helps maintain the atmosphere and the equipment. Speaking of the equipment, they have plenty of pool tables so you could actually have a large tournament going on and still get a table for you and your friends. And like I said, it is well-maintained equipment. The only thing that they are lacking is perhaps food (c'mon, this is a pool hall. Do we really need food to be served? They allow you to order your own) and, most important, actual billiard and snooker tables. This is going to sound a bit critical but if "billiards" is in your name, I want to see actual billiards and not just pool tables. 4/5 stars well-earned! I will be back and I will be bringing my friends!

The place is clean and pool tables are great. I loved it. Just got to work on hospitality the the customers. Not all the customer's are the same.
Bar Tender Rude AF. It's 1:45 They Shutting The Bar Down. She Is Rushing. There Is No Line At All Probably 10 People In Here At The Most. Talking Bar Time. 2:00 Is 2:00.. It's Nice Nd Clean Though.
I don't go there anymore. I went in there early one day. All the tables were filthy. I left and went to another pool hall. Last time I went I got there at 8:45. Sign on the door said $5 cover 9-1. Guy at the door DEMANDED $5. I said the sign on the door says cover starts at 9. He said he didn't care. Told me to get out or he was going to throw me out. Don't hire people on steroids to work the front door! After that I never returned. And I use to go there all the time!
Tables are nice the bartenders are good and are friendly but the people begging for money in the parking lot and in front of the pool hall when ya get there or anytime you step out side, or when you leave just kills it for me. I'm there to have a good time shoot pool have a few drinks with friends not be hounded for money by homeless or the less fortunate when I get there, leave, or step out side ........., they really need to do something about it!

1 star only because it looks like a nice place but be fooled. The bartender was rude and doesn't know what a Georgia DL looks like. If you're not a local then they don't want you here.
Me and my wife went to J J Dakota's for the first time 4/16/17 cost us $18 just to get there using uber. ask the bar tender for a martini and a whiskey coke, the very " friendly " female bar tender explained they did not have the makings for a martini . that was fine so my wife asked for a sapphire & tonic the very " nice " female bar tender explained the bar did not carry sapphire gin, again we was fine with that. so wife settled on a lower grade of gin & tonic. our drinks was poured and served by the very " nice & friendly " female bar tender. however with mine and my wife's first taste of our drinks we both felt they was a bit lite on the booze. and that was ok, it happens from time to time to get a lite drink, so on our next round of the same drinks, a NEW " male " bar tender comes to take the order. i say to the male bar tender.... yes we would like another round of whiskey coke & gin and tonic however Sir i feel the last round of drinks was a bit lite could you please make these ones a bit heavier. the" male " bar tender says to me...LOOK before you order your drinks from me i suggest you DO NOT start off by insulting another bar tender, i said back to him.... i am not insulting anyone i was making a statement' nothing more, then the male bar tender began to banter with me. at this point if i had driven myself to the bar i would have paid my bill and walked out never to return in turn ending the whole darn thing.. however i asked my wife to call uber to come pick us up wife says to me.... yes but it will be 10-15 mins i do not wish to wait outside so lets see if this bar tenders drinks are better so at the least we can wait inside. i agreed,, the male bar tender brought the drinks the drinks were even weaker. so the reason 1 star rating. on what seemed to be a good drinking hole. Not only did this bar have rude customer service and drinks being on the lite side, the soda pop guns lines were filthy making the drink taste dirty.
Bartender with gauges and and glasses was very rude. First time in and won’t be back, very unwelcoming environment.
Wednesday October 5th. 630pm walked with my husband and instantly got kicked out / asked if he had a shirt with sleeves because he was wearing a tank top. No where on the building/ door or even here on google does it say you have to wear sleeves.(No tank tops) .. after reading some of the reviews I am glad we didn't stay.
Went into this place for a birthday party. The bartender Frank was totally rude . I will never be back and I will tell absolutely everyone that I know not to go to this establishment. Worst place EVER!!! He is entitled and arrogant and needs to learn to multi-task.
Walked in to shoot some pool wearing a tank top not a trashy 1 either and they said they wouldn't serve me. Trash!!! dont come here if you want to be yourself and feel comfortable.
I feel the customer service from the bar was very rude. It appeared to me like I wasn't welcomed in JJ's.
Wouldn’t even put the one star but it’s mandatory. There’s a certain way you treat your customers even when things are a bit rowdy. Frank talked down to me when I ordered my drink incorrectly EVEN THOUGH he knew EXACTLY what I was trying to order. Then Frank treated a friend who was trying to close out the birthday persons tab as if they were going to take his property when they had been there together ALL NIGHT. Frank was also very rude to someone who was just trying to close out his tab… First and last time visiting this establishment. thanks to Frank.
They are extremely picky and those what kind of people that they want to let in my husband's friend had a very small peice of tape on it and turned us away so if your colored and is married to a different race I wouldn't recommend at all
Turned away for wearing tank top, summer in Texas 2024, yet I see some lady with no sleeves sitting in the bar. Very stupid double standard rule
I used to love going here to shoot pool it was fun and friendly. Last visit was a nightmare. The place was empty but still we gave it go. The bartender had airpods in both ears and every time I tried to speak to her she kept saying huh, finally after the 5th attempt at the question Iasked her to remove the ear pieces so she could hear me. After that I went up to her more drinks and was standing at bar for 10 min before walking away because the bartender was no where to be found. Needless to say we left.
I came in at 1:00 AM hoping to get in two quick games of pool with friends before closing at 2:00 AM. I’ve been here before and never had issues, but this time the owner suddenly insisted on seeing my ID even though I’m 26 and he’s served me before. Strangely, he didn’t ask for IDs from the two friends I was with. I had to leave to grab my ID, which took about 20 minutes. By the time I got back and we ordered drinks, it was already 1:40ish. We barely had time to finish one game (which meant only two of us could even play), and then at 1:55 we were told to wrap everything up. It felt like a total waste of time and money, and the way it was handled gave me a ton of unnecessary stress and anxiety. I understand rules are rules, but the inconsistent enforcement and lack of flexibility ruined what was supposed to be a quick, fun visit :(
Do not come to this place unless you want to be kicked out with someone wearing an “I know the Owner too” shirt. Came with a buddy that was new to playing and our first interaction with another player was a threat to be kicked out, with a shirt as listed before. I attempted to apologize but was cussed out by the individual while his neighboring group of friends seemed to accept it as normal behavior. I was a regular, but seeing as this seemed to be a regular occurrence as when I mentioned to the bartender I would not be returning she said “I completely understand.” Rusty’s is right down the road, don’t waste your money here, the grass is definitely greener.
I got turned away for having a tank top on. It’s summer in Texas and I just wanted to cool off with a drink and a game of pool. Meanwhile my girl also has a tank top. So I don’t know what the difference was. I wanted to argue but I just left.
I only go out a couple of times a year and my best friend invited me here to play pool with her boyfriend. The bartender was super rude, I will never to here again as long as he's there. Older guy with white/grey hair. He has a huge chip on his shoulder and he thinks it's ok to yell profanities at people.
