This is a lovely place. We shared the mushroom & sausage Flammkuchen. It was excellent - thin crust, light on the creme fraiche, a great starter, surprisingly light. The pork schnitzel was first-rate - perfectly cooked, tender and tasty. The mushroom spaetzle is also very good with the mushrooms worked into the noodle dough. The dining room is cozy and comfortable - there are cushions for the dining chairs, if you want one. Tablecloths add to the homey touch. Service is outstanding; prices very reasonable. Based on a review in our local paper, we drove an hour to try out Elsasser. The review was spot-on and we were not disappointed! Restaurants like this one are few and far between. We will go back!

Visited for the first time last night. It was amazing! Very comfortable, host was friendly and outgoing. He explained the menu incredibly well to us new to German food. The food came out hot and was absolutely delicious! There was no feeling of being rushed to finish our meal. We will definitely return to try more things on the menu. Only suggestion we could think of is during daylight the restaurant doesn’t look open. Maybe lights in the window. When we left it was dark so then we could see inside and open. Can’t wait to return!

Wenn einem das Heimweh packt, dann ist man im Elsasser's gut aufgehoben. Eine gutes Angebot an leckeren deutschen Gerichten im gemütlichen Ambiente. Bemerkenswert gute Auswahl an deutschen Bieren. Hier bekommt man Weizenbier, Schwarzbier, Helles, Pilsener und sogar Kölsch. Chris ist ein toller Gastgeber und spricht auch sehr gut Deutsch. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Walking into this restaurant feels like you’ve been transported back in time! Chris is an absolute delight and reason enough to visit, but the food is also delicious and unique. I had the pork schnitzel, which was perfectly crisp over mixed spaetzle that was flavorful and fresh. The wine selection was diverse and tailored to individual preference. I’d recommend popping in if you’re in the area - you won’t be disappointed. When I’m back in Saratoga I’ll make a point to stop here again and hope that it’s karaoke night!

We had a FABULOUS time at Elsasser’s this evening. The ambience was great…staff were welcoming and engaging…and the food was spectacular. Super fresh and authentic. The owner, who we were fortunate enough to get as our waiter, made our experience top notch. I will be spreading the word about this gem of a restaurant!

We went for dinner on March 9th for the first time. The food was great including the specialty flat bread pizza we had as our appetizer. Prices for food and drink were very reasonable. Chris our host and server was amazingly friendly and made us feel so welcome.

My wife and I had a wonderful German dining experience this afternoon at this lovely, delicious gem of a bistro in quaint Greenwich, NY. In addition to a scrumptious dinner ( authentic sauerbraten, pork schnitzel, spaetzle, red cabbage)…. and drinks (aperol spritz…my wife’s favorite!), we were treated to live music provided by the owner, Chris and company. We will surely return soon!

My husband and I went here and loved it! The food is interesting and different -- who knew that Greenwich would have an Alsacian restaurant?! The service was great and we loved the Flammenkuchen. We will definitely return!

My husband & I had our 11yr wedding anniversary dinner at Elsasser's @ 111. It was our first time there. Being that we are not from the area. We stayed at an AirB&B not far from the restaurant. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted & welcomed by the staff. Even the customers greeted us, lol. Everyone was very friendly. The food was amazing & delicious 😋 Cooked to perfection. The dessert was delicious as well. My husband and I had a great time and we are looking forward to going back.

Went to Elsasser’s last evening for dinner. The flatbread pizzas were extremely good. The wine selections were spot on, and the beer selections were terrific. We will be making this a regular spot for us. Besides the flatbreads we had 2 sausages —chorizo and beef. They both were delicious. It was a real pleasant dinner and evening. Strongly recommend Elsasser’s in Greenwich, New York. Update: May 30, 2023 We have made Elsasser’s our regular restaurant to go to . The menu is great and the kitchen is always introducing new and delicious items. Pork Cordon Bleu, Hot or cold potato salad , soups, stews, garden and spinach spatzle, venison , quality steaks, and everything really delicious. Wine, Pilsner beers, great mixed drinks. We go often because we feel at home. Staff handles everything so very well. Great place…get there.

A wonderful, interesting, out of the ordinary German meal in a quaint historic building with fast, friendly service, cold beer, and really creative flatbreads. We tried the flatbread, schnitzel, Spaetzl, and even a pork Cordon Bleu and all were delicious. Cold beer was a nice complement. Sorry, we didn’t have room for dessert, but there are a couple of sweet flammkuchen on the menu for those who save room. Well worth a visit for tasty happy hour snacks, interesting cocktails or a full meal. What an unexpected treat right on Main Street in the center of Greenwich!

If you haven't been to Elsassers in Greenwitch, Run don't walk! A very warm and friendly atmosphere. The owner, Chris, makes you feel like you're in his home. The food is so good, I haven't had a dinner I didn't love! My biggest problem is choosing which one to have tonight... Reasonably priced wine, beer and cocktails. It's the "Cheers" of Greenwich. Listen, if you're in the mood to try something a little different from your regular fare, Elsasser's is a reason to open your palate. Still, this isn't the unexpected -- there is something comforting about the German "pizza" and brats: flavorful, fresh, and scrumptious. Great vibe to the place, knowledgeable and warm owner, and worth trying... again and again.

Went to Elsasser last night for girls night out. Had a great time!! The bartender, Katie was so sweet, personable, and informative. The owner, Chris, made up two of our drinks according to what tastes we liked. Hit the nail on the head with both of them... Our dinners were delish! We all tried something different and shared with each other. Everything tasted SOOOOO good. Someone else wrote"Run, don't walk ,to Elsasser's" and I couldn't agree more!! Looking forward to karaoke night!!!

Been in twice this week, the first for some fantastic hand crafted cocktails at the bar after dinner, and today for dinner itself. A well executed menu of German fare, which came out hot and fresh for a fantastic meal. Finished it off with some superb chocolate cake that is made locally. The staff is great, and owner was very engaging in conversation. All round a fun experience both times and I look forward to trying more of the menu next time.

Had a great family dinner, and everything was delicious: salads, flammkuchen, and main courses. The shnitzel was good, the sauerbraten was great, and the spatzl with shortribs was out of this world. Beer and wine selection is small but good, and the service was friendly, helpful, and fun.

We brought my mother here for Mother’s Day and had a fantastic meal! From the moment we walked in the atmosphere was relaxed, and I loved the style of the restaurant. At our seats we were well taken care of by the waitress, and the owner came over to us personally to ask us about ourselves and checked in on how we were doing. The food was amazing! My mother and I had pork schnitzel which was fresh, and tasted just like my grandma used to make, and it was like she was with us on Mother’s Day, too. My fiancé had the 3 brat meal and he enjoyed his very much too. We all commented on how the potato salad and cabbage salad were so good! Thank you for the great meal and service, we will definitely be back soon for another meal!

Such a treat! Food was EXCELLENT! I had pork and spaetzle with red cabbage. I have celiac and was able to order GF spaetzle! Incredible! My husband had short ribs and said it was phenomenal. We went to the area on a birthday trip and the owner, Chris, played Happy birthday on the flugelhorn, so cool! He was so welcoming and made us feel right at home. Service was excellent. A truly comfortable restaurant. Very fair pricing. We enjoyed it so much much we went back the next night!

Great food in the area, I have dined in and ordered takeout multiple times and it is always delicious. Perfect food for when the weather gets chilly. Spatzle bowl with schnitzel, egg, and lemon herb is my absolute favorite. Highly recommend making the trip. My only suggestion for improvement is the front door has a blackout sticker on it, the first time I went there I wasn’t sure which door to use or if it was even open, I wish the door was more open and welcoming especially for people walking by, the inside is cute and cozy.

This place is a gem! I was there sitting outside for the tractor parade tonight. And all my friends raved about how friendly the owner was. We were outside his establishment waiting for the parade and hanging out for a couple of hours. During that time we were in and out using the rest room and grabbing beers from the bar. Let’s start with Rose the bartender, she was amazing. Very attentive to her crowd and extremely knowledgeable about her craft. My friends were unsure of the carefully selected German Beer selection being offered. Rose was spot on in her descriptions of each beer, and recommendations. All of my friends walked about and couldn’t be happier with their choices! Secondly the owner Chris was extremely welcoming and seemed to know who was amongst the crowd both inside and out. He was an amazing conversationist and all around amazing host. As the night went in we ordered some pizzas they specialize in. Chris took my order and delivered them to me personally. I can not put into words how amazing those pizzas were! I can not wait to go back and enjoy a proper dinner here! This place is amazing and a hidden gem just outside of the capital district. I would recommend this restaurant to any one! Job well done to Chris, and the rest of the staff at this establishment!

What a great local gem in downtown Greenwich. Hands down some of the BEST pizza I’ve ever had. To be honest you don’t always think of pizza 🍕 + German food but the dough was so fresh, light, delicious and flavorful! Their variety of toppings and combinations was fun too. Great selection of beer and wine. The indoor decor was a whole cool vibe and the outdoor seating was lovely with plenty of people watching :) the owner was super friendly and accommodating! You must check it out if you’re in Greenwich or passing through. 👏🏼👏🏼

The owner Chris was not only welcoming but evidently passionate about his locally sourced, lovingly crafted menu offerings. Though we’re relatively inexperienced with German cuisine, he took the time to explain every dish, make recommendations and went above and beyond to accommodate our friends dietary restrictions. It’s an absolute must go and one of our new favorites!

I was born in Strasbourg, the capital of Alsace (Elsass in German) and spend a lot of years before moving to the US… and missing our traditional gastronomy… until now. Chris has managed to create a cozy restaurant with a great vibe, and awesome menu. Everything is very reasonably priced and tasty. We had several flammkueche, and, like in Alsace, the restaurateur is open to a few changes so do not hesitate to ask. I had the Cordon Bleu, made with real gruyère, served with red cabbage and potato salad. The red cabbage has a very interesting twist with a tad of vinegar. Every was great (only comment, our entrées could have been a little warmer, but not worth reducing the stars). Elsasser also has bretzels on the menu and they are not fat or expensive. Perfect with your beer. Christ, as a sommelier, prides himself in a fine selection of wine and he was spot on with a nice Gamay at a good price. I highly recommend this place and I wish Chris and his team all the success he deserves.

I can’t rave about this restaurant enough. My husband and I live around the corner and feel so fortunate to have this gem so close and in such a small town. I’ve eaten at 111 many times and have never had a bad dish. Every meal is complex and elevated while somehow feeling honest and home cooked. Chris’s food is rich and hardy without ever feeling heavy while always being well balanced. Chris has a curated wine list and never fails at a stellar recommendation. The atmosphere is both casual and classy so I feel comfortable either sitting in sweats at the bar or dressing up for a date night. And to top it all off, the prices are excellent. You absolutely won’t regret choosing Elsasser’s for your next night out.

A really nice surprise in a small town, easily worth the trip. German flair food seasoned well. Just a note, pizza isn't traditional, no mozzarella cheese, and the dough is flatbread, but my wife really enjoyed the Swiss cheese and spinach. The prices were very good. The owner chatted with us and was very personable, made the meal even better. I highly recommend the beef stew, it's a special for the winter, I also recommend finding this gem.

I can’t really do justice to how special this place is. Simple and surprising… We started with a flammküchen and cocktails, then had pork schnitzel and spätzle with short rib and two glasses of wine. These two entrees were the best version of either I’ve ever had. I’m sorry to give such outlandish praise - it contradicts the simplicity and humility of the place. Our bill was $108. Worth the drive in if you’re from out of town.

Hidden gem in Greenwich. The Flammkuchen blew us away, the French wine was perfect, and the short ribs were to die for. Finished with dessert Flammkuchen. Don't skip it. Owner knows exactly what he's doing. Small town, big flavors. Highly recommend Elsasser's!

Elsassers is on our repeat list - which is saying something given the preponderance of bar food in and around Saratoga. We appreciated that they continue to offer dishes from Alsace and Swabia - and have stuck with it. The flammkuchen is really hard to beat. Each time we visit we try a different topping. Paired with a salad (or have the salad as the topping), and you have a sweet meal. We love spätzel and can recommend the various types (spinach, mushroom…). Finally, the serving sizes are not overwhelming. Leaves room for beer and/or dessert!! The dining room is cozy and not too loud for conversation. It is reminiscent of dining rooms in southern Germany and eastern France. If you are dining alone, sit in the bar room and join the merriment! Staff is helpful and prices are reasonable.

For me, just okay. Food was trying hard to be Austrian but having been to that country a number of times, I felt it was falling short. Not bad, just not great. Servers were stressed and bouncing around a lot so that made the atmosphere a little tense.

Had the mushroom and sausage pizza to start with, it was one of the best I've ever eaten!! Also had the beef stroganoff and it was very good as well.

Almost a 5 star experience for us. The staff is great and the people very friendly. Very strange entrance as it completely blacked out, and what you think is the entrance is blocked by a bench. The interior is simple but beautiful and welcoming. The food is a mixed bag. My wife had the pork schnitzel, which was excellent. The breading cracked so loudly that the table next to us commented on it. She loved the german potato salad served with it. My Sauerbraten was bland, and the gravy was very thin. The accompanying red cabbage was good and very flavorful, but it over-powered the flavor of the sauerbraten. The pumpkin spatzle tasted nothing like pumpkin, but it was enjoyable. For dessert, we shared an apple and cinnamon flammkuchen, think of a quessadilla. This was perfectly cooked, the crepe like outer layer was crispy, the apple sweet and crisp. If we're in the neighborhood, we would definitely go back. The savory flammkuchen menu looks very appealing.

The food was delicious! The atmosphere was very quaint and nice. The owner very social! The entrance was hard to find .. the door is blacked out. But once inside a pleasant time. Will definitely visit again!

Went for birthday celebration. Was expecting more Alsatian choices. Very limited menu. Food seemed pre made and heated up. Schnitzel was awful thin and dry. Spaetzle was gummy and seemed reheated. The place was absolutely filthy. A deep coating of dust on the piano, huge cobwebs all over the window areas that literally connected to the piano. I wanted to leave but my friend was treating me to lunch. I wasn’t going to write a review but here it is. Do better when you’re representing a heritage / regional food. This was not it.
