A great place to enjoy both Asian tea and food. It is also a nice gallery for all tea container exhibitions.
Great vegan ramen and tea selection!
Exquisite tea flight and desserts, with a wonderful and knowledgeable staff. Highly recommend!
A cosy and quiet tea shop. The food is almost as good as their tea and the service is always attentive.
A very tasty Japanese, tea, food, sake and a big variety of healthy drinks just the 0lace to go for every occasion. Very knowledgeable and helpful stuff and if you are extra lucky you will mingle with the fabulous owners.
The staff were so helpful in assisting me while I picked out a tea. They gave me a green tea hand wash that was so refreshing, I even wiped my face with it. The owner was friendly and talkative. We had an excellent experience.
This place is incredible. As a Healdsburg regular and someone is values health The Taste of Tea is a refreshing alternative to the trendy consumption alcohol/wine. The staff, especially Aly, is knowledgeable and friendly. Do yourself a favor and just walk through the door.
The service was absolutely amazing and the food was super delicious. I had the onigiri and the miso ramen and both were perfect. 5/5 and will definetly come back
Lovely location to enjoy teas from around the world and delicious food. A friend and I shared a tea flight and small bite dishes. A nice place in the heart of wine country.
An opulent elegant experience the manner of presentation the method and the making of the food is so detailed and wonderful we had to come again. The sheer variety available to drink eat make this place a must visit multiple times.
First time I've been here and let me tell you. It's amazing. It may be a bit slow, but it is worth it. If you want speedier service in a place like this go to another tea shop that don't put love in their teas. FYI.
Excellent food and tea! Kendahl, Celine, and Alexis know what they are doing and will provide the best service. Definitely recommend going here.
Two Lions loves this spot too!...Peaceful, high quality Japanese style cuisine and magnificent tea selections. All prepared with class and style.
This is a great place to visit if you like tea. They are very knowledgeable and friendly. They also serve food too. I have not tried the food but it looks good.
Numerous tea selections and delicious Japanese food. Service is excellent and nice decor inside - highly recommend this gem!
Some of the best tea in Sonoma County, with fantastic food to match. The prices are reasonable, and everyone is welcoming and kind.
Real Japanese comfort food, several noodle and rice dishes, no sushi bar. Great selection of tea and some sakes.
Friendly, delightful hosts. Great food and beer. The pork ramen was delicious as was the donburi.
It was amazing! The owners and workers were kind and their tea and food was delightful. I definitely recommend this place to dine.
Really good food. Decor is fairly unique for the area. Ramen and tea are yum.
A hidden gem of a spot serving up the best imported teas and uncontestable BEST ramen in Sonoma County.
I love everything about this place! Been there three or for times and looking forward to going again. I noticed some beautiful Japanese bowls & tea cups for sale here and bought a couple. The ramen is delicious and the tea selection is phenomenal. They have a relaxation area with foot soaks that I want to try next time.
Amazing restaurant! Four of us went here for dinner on a Saturday night (after putting our names down for a 45-min wait elsewhere) after walking past it and were glad that we found this - no wait. Amazing service, amazing drinks (fruit-flavored sake was a hit), and really good food for both vegetarians and omnivores. The owners of the restaurant even came by to check in on all of their diners, which was very kind of them. We will definitely be back!
We did a day trip to Healdsburg and made a reservation for a table outside for Sunday lunch. It was quite simply one of the most refined, peaceful, elegant and perfectly prepared meals and experiences we’ve had at a restaurant since pre-COVID. Each staff member was kind, seemed well taken care of/happy to be there, and clearly trained in hospitality and service. The tea selection was incredible- we enjoyed a robust and earthy Japanese green tea. The ramen and yaki noodle dishes were made with high quality ingredients and perfectly spicy (we asked for spice). Our 5 year old enjoyed the yaki noodles on the kids menu, and the kids tea. The icing on the cake was the delightful, modern serving ware: from the glass tea cups to the chopstick holders. Thank you so much for a wonderful meal and experience- we can’t wait to return next time we’re in Healdsburg!
I really appreciate having knowledgeable staff that willingly and pleasantly work with food allergies. They offer riced cauliflower if you don't want the rice. I was able to enjoy a lovely meal and a delicious special tea! My friend really enjoyed her ramen dish.
We walked by and noticed this place somewhat by chance, not knowing it was a restaurant, but don't let the name fool you! This place is a fantastic Japanese restaurant. They have a great unique cocktail menu specializing in sake/tea combinations that are extremely delicious. On top of that, they offer Japanese craft beer which I have never seen in any other restaurant in the United States. The owner takes a lot of pride in the menu and will gladly talk to you about how sake is made, its history in Japan, and probably anything else! I highly recommend this place, and makes all other Japanese eateries seem run-of-the-mill.
This is without a doubt the best ramen that my taste buds have had the privilege to experience. Of all the ramen/soup restaurants that I have tried in my 27 years, this restaurant holds the absolute best tasting ramen. Words fail to describe the wondrous decadent stupendous flavor, it is a MUST try for all ramen lovers. I deeply regret taking this long to give the restaurant a chance, I sincerely hope you do not make the same mistake.
Living in Sonoma County means I get to eat some of the best foods I've even eaten and dine at some of the nicest restaurants the area has to offer, but this place...this spot had one of the, if not the best, dining experience I've had yet. From start to finish, front of house staff, the food quality and plating, the tea cocktails, the everything was absolutely perfect. I cannot recommend this place strongly enough.
Surprisingly good. I was shocked by the quality of the food, the tea, and the service. Worth going out of your way to this place. The sashimi is very good. My wife and daughter loved the ramen.
Been to Healdsburg many times, passed by this place many times but never went in. I am so ad that I did. Greeted with many hellos and smiles. The new young waitress was the best staff member, she was trying her best to be informative and helpful about their teas their process of brewing. My wife and I decided to try some food snacks, which were fabulous. Then the mochi desserts were the best I have ever had. This place is a must see🙂
for NorCal, this place is fantastic! As a Japanese American who has eaten in Japan, this is one of the few good authentic Japanese restaurants. It's the only good Japanese food I've had in NorCal. The owners travel to Asia to buy their teas and their food menu had been expanding. They are nice and friendly people.
I had the lunch special chicken teriyaki rice bowl. It was perfect. Veggies were crispy, sauce was wonderful. Not too sweet, the perfect ginger compliment. Service was kind and generous.
The Taste of Tea proved a lovely late lunch stop. It was a chilly, damp afternoon and the ramen was the perfect remedy for the cold. We tried the special Miso ramen and the sukiyaki, both delicious and beautifully presented. The lad had yaki soba and was quite pleased with the fried tofu. We also had Onigiri and handmade gyoza, both tasty and fresh. The tea was quite enjoyable too, rounding out a stop that will only be the first of many for us.
Best experience I’ve had yet. Huge tea menu with knowledgeable and helpful staff. Small selection of food but all executed fantastically. And an atmosphere that leaves you feeling warm and welcome. Perfect 10 out of 10
The Taste of Tea serves us some delicious Japanese comfort foods in the middle of Healdsburg. They're located in a great area with lots of shops, wine tasting rooms, and restaurants. We came for lunch before wine tasting. I enjoyed my miso ramen and matcha tea. They have so many teas to choose from for all needs -- relaxing, energizing, soothing, etc. I fell in love with this tea room!
Just got back from Japan a month ago and this ramen wasn’t far off! Broth was super flavorful, the egg was delicious and roasted corn was a great touch. They also have a gluten free option for the noodles and that was awesome. Their drinks were fantastic and the service was top of the line. And we loved the outdoor seating. Will come back if I ever come back Healdsburg
Incredible and yummy experience. Had the Bento box. Portions were okay. But food was DELICIOUS. The drinks you need to try the unicorn Sake drink. Wow! The wait staff were super awesome trained in the culture and had cool facts/tidbits about the food and cuisine. Wish I could go back and try different dishes.
Love this place and love all the customizable ramen options. And the tea is so great. As a pescatarian, there are so many options at this place. Also, love their little tea and goodies shop. Such a lovely spot.
My favorite place for ramen. They also have a variety of other dishes, but I typically get the pork ramen and have also had the amazing cold soba noodles with vegetables when it's on the menu as a summer special. Wonderful tea selection, my favorite is iced Mint Melody. Owners and staff are very sweet. They have one of the nicest & well-constructed parklets in town. A good place to go for mid-range food and a break from wine.
Wonderful Japanese food, with the most gracious service in town! This is a great place for an early dinner with both indoor and outdoor seating. It’s excellent value for the money. All the entrees we’ve had are fabulous and for dessert don’t miss the spectacular sponge cake!
We ordered from their online shop and tea is amazing quality! I highly recommend ordering:)
Really good ramen and the sweet curry is a favorite that I return for over and over. My only complaint is the online hours state a totally different closing time than the front door posted hours. Might consider making your hours consistent and those that reflect the hours that you will actually serve people. We thought we had arrived for dinner well before closing, and we were told they stopped seating. But that’s my only suggestion! Really friendly staff and a wonderful cozy place to eat.
My boyfriend and I came here just for the tea but ended up having appetizers, ramen, and sorbet. It was such a lovely experience and we will definitely be coming back when we have the chance. The service really stood out as everyone was so friendly and helpful in accounting for food allergies or helping with decisions (there are a lot of tea options). We didn’t feel overwhelmed or crowded though which was very appreciated and created a relaxing dining experience. All the food that we received was beautifully plated and arrived promptly. We had so much fun here, it felt like a fine dining experience but for a much more reasonable price. We ended up spending the entire time talking about the food and drinks- we definitely recommend you savor the experience if you decide to eat here.
Delicious food and excellent service. We found this place when looking for a late lunch. Could not have been more satisfied with the experience! Staff took care of my elderly mom who accidentally selected a ramen that was too spicy. Offered us other choices, not all on the menu, which proved to be just right for her taste. She and I left very happy with our discovery. Can't wait to return when next in town.
Coming from Bay Area, didn’t have super high expectations for Ramen in Healdsburg, but it was yum. The egg yolk was cooked exactly the way a Ramen egg should be cooked (golden and a teeny bit on runny side). Noodles were a level of chewy that made me happy! A repeat customer for sure if I have a ramen craving here!
Have been a customer for years, but the expanded dinner options in the parklet was amazing! Friendly service, delicious food and beverage options. They have really nailed relaxing, comforting and uplifting as a vibe. Highly recommend!! Our group ordered the classic ramens (miso, pork) as well as the gyoza ramen with a garlic shoyu base which was my favorite. The sake flights are also very good! We shared the fundamentals and it was a well curated, tasty accompaniment.
This is a family owned and operated authentic Japanese bistro and Tea house. The food is great, service is excellent and tea variety and quality is outstanding. It’s a place to visit and enjoy frequently.
GREAT service and wonderful food! I live locally and work down the road from Taste of Tea and eat there often. And I just adore the food and the people. Today, I ordered the teriyaki chicken bowl (one of my go-to's) and got swamped at work so I didn't get a min to go grab it and after about 30 minutes, they very kindly brought it over to me! What an amazingly thoughtful thing to do. Thank you to everyone at Taste of Tea for serving great food and being lovely people.
Such a wonderful experience. The pork ramen was delicious, and so was the honeybush tea. They have great indoor and outdoor seating. I highly recommend the taste of tea.
I LOVE the food at Taste of Tea, in Healdsburg. Their food never disappoints. My favorite item is their Gyoza Ramen, which has a wonderful broth and is bountiful enough to take home for another meal. Another tasty dish is their ahi poke bowl. Always made with fresh ingredients. The staff are always friendly and welcoming.
Had a delightful lunch with friends today. The service was outstanding, we elected to sit inside, but they have a beautiful little outdoor dining area. And the food was good and reasonably priced. In the photo is a mini pokey bowl, Wakame salad. Plenty of food and very, very reasonable..
If you are in need of Ramen or tea or Japanese food then this is the place. Highly recommended if you are in Healdsburg. Jocelin was my absolutely amazing waitress. She made recommendations that hit the taste buds perfectly. This place is absolutely amazing.
Adorable Japanese place, excellent service and lovely food! Definitely worth a visit! Their ramen was delicious, as was their curry and udon. And the drinks...wow! I also like how the tables aren't too close together so we actually had privacy from other diners. And great vegetarian and vegan options. Highly recommend.
Excellent service and friendly staff. Oh and the food was good as well! Was a small mix up with my order and they promptly fixed it. Learning about their teas and how they source them was fascinating. Typically my husband and I go to San Francisco twice a year for our tea. We may have to change that habit!
What a lovely place. Great service, great food. Their boba teas were done perfectly, the ramen was delicious. Highly recommend it.
Very unpretentious place holds secrets to the best ramen and tea north of San Francisco, possibly in the whole greater bay area. Our favorite place in this part of the world. Wonderful selection teas, great Japanese comfort food and always excellent service. The unagi don is the best preparation of eel I’ve ever had. The ramen’s are savory and delicious yet light and refreshing. We just signed up for their tea sampling experience which was tasty and educational. In addition to dining with them we buy loose leaf teas from them all the time to take home.
Great spot for a quick bite as we drove thru norcal. I wanted something not california coastal or italian haha. Ordered cold ramen and it was delicious with good portion. Service was great too. Would come again
Lovely spot. My Dad and I came here for our weekly lunch date. The server was very kind and attentive. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. $15 for an Udon Ramen. Veggie options. And great desserts!
The perfect stop in Healdsburg for tasty foods and a mind boggling assortment of tea related drinks … even if you think you are not much of a tea drinker. Service is very customized and personable. It’s like stepping into Japan. Been stopping here for over a decade and never disappoints.
Came here 30 min before closing! Good: - Shoyu ramen spicy was solid, small potion size but it had a good kick - The staff were really nice and came by a lot to help and our food came out decently quickly - The ambiance was quiet and good for catching up Bad: - Boba was a little flavorless, but it was good since it didn’t seem as sweet Overall enjoyed the experience but it wasn’t the best ramen I’ve had
Cool spot for Ramen and tea. We found this lively place while driving by Healdsburg our son is big fan of Onigiri this place has great selection of beverages especially artisans tea which I quite pleased. Order house special Miso ramen and sukiyaki ramen they are both quite tasty. The service is great our server is so polite and really helpful with the menu makes sure that we are ok. We definitely be back againand will recommend this place to our friends.
Some of the best ramen I've ever had. The chef and owner are very eager to make food that their customers will love and enjoy. The atmosphere is relaxing and the decor is charming. They have fantastic saké cocktails I definitely recommend. This is a don't miss place for sure!
Superb Japanese food! Nice outdoor seating which is well shaded. Super dog friendly. Service excellent! We had the salmon ramen and the soba salmon salad. Both were excellent! I don't know how they cook the salmon perfectly!! Can't wait to come back. Great location, just a short walk from the plaza!
Much more than tea. We have been going to The Taste of Tea for many years and appreciate the fresh flavors of their ramen and all of their dishes. The service is attentive and helpful with menu choices. Their outdoor parklet is one of the best in Healdsburg.

I love this place! So cozy and perfect for sipping tea. We discovered the shop while on a foodie tour of Healdsburg. The tea tasting was so fun and educational. The small bites were delicious! After buying some tea to take home, we decided we would come back the next day to try the ramen. Such a great decision!! I had the salmon yuzu ramen, perfectly spicy and citrusy. My husband had the shoyu ramen, classically delicious! We will definitely make a point of eating here again in order to try more dishes!

Good ramen! Really good and fun place to try out!
I love having a seat at the bar, watch the tea preparations, and chatting with the friendly servers. The shiso ochazuke is great, and I love the selection of mochi ice cream flavors!
My family and really enjoyed this spot. Never wouldve found it without google. Great food and such a variety of tea! If you come here, you have to try there MarTEAni's! They are absolutely refreshing!
Casual atmosphere, interesting sake flights, quality meal ingredients, but somewhat bland flavor.
Matcha was below my expectations, the taste of oat milk overpowered the matcha flavor. But the ramen I got was amazing. And very beautifully served. So far the best ramen I've eaten. Also the portion wasn't too big, which I think is good, they seem to give more importance to quality, not the quantity.
My wife loved the flavor of the duck ramen. I was neutral, but the staff was friendly as were the proprietors. I did feel the value factor was just a bit lacking, and wasn't a fan of the sake cocktail which was really more of a tea cocktail. I would come here again but stick to a glass of sake and the traditional ramen.
We first saw the shop in November of 2014 when it was under construction. The tea selection is great (all varieties, many flavors, hot or iced) and the opening bites looked tasty. The two iced teas we tried (Earl Green for me and Royal Petals for her) were flavorful. We didn't have a chance to try the relaxation room (tea-based day spa) this time around but will schedule it in on our next trip.
Pretty good ramen. We got take out and it was cold by the time it got home. Not a huge deal, but for our first time it wasn't the best impression. We look forward to dining in next time.
We had dinner outdoors here. The food was delicious. I loved the eel Bento box and the tea that I was recommended. The outdoor seating is a bit tight so it didn't feel like I could have private conversations while dining.
Took my partner for a nice date and came across this place by chance! The staff was so nice and knowledgeable, very attentive with tea times and descriptions! Had great vegan options. Can't wait to come back! This place is amazing! The matcha is perfect too, with nondairy options [coconut, oat] and for the boba as well. Beautiful place. We'll be back! Pros: Atmosphere, Service, Food Cons: Smaller food portion [could have used a bit more noodles for the price!]

Interesting concept. Refined atmosphere, creative menu options, good service. Food was good, but missing soul.
Interesting tea bar, but my drink took a long time to make. Seems like a little too much effort is out into things that don't affect the overall customer experience much (large flatscreen TVs playing slideshows about tea.
We both had the Ramen and felt they could’ve done a better job with the broth
Fascinating blend of casual tea and science of the tea process from growing to brewing. I appreciated the variety of teas offered as hot or cold beverages. The lunch menu is nice, I recommend their house ramen. I would have liked to order the appetizer that was served with our meal, but it was not available as a dish.
First off, the pros of this restaurant: Good atmosphere and very friendly and accommodating staff. It’s a very small place so when we got there at 4:45pm they said they were booked until 6pm, which was fine with us, we went across the street to get appetizers and drinks. When we can back around 6:15, they sat us immediately. The service was great, very efficient. My issues: The ramen. Unfortunately, it’s pricey but that’s what is expected in this area. HOWEVER. If i’m going to pay $18-25 for a bowl of ramen I expect some flavor and complexity. My favorite part of my meal was the egg which was cooked perfectly. Other than that, it was disappointing and very underwhelming. It tasted like they just sprinkled half a Top Ramen flavor packet into the broth. The pork was super thin, noodles were “eh”. Maybe Chef Tokugawa wasn’t in that night? Maybe I got the “wrong” ramen choice? Maybe this restaurant isn’t known for their ramen and specializes in tea or something? Whatever the case, I wish I had known how bland it would be and gotten something else. :/ (We ordered the miso ramen and the curry ramen).
I had the pork ramen. It was ok, not great. Definitely not worth the $20. I've never wanted to add salt to ramen before! The noodles were soft, not chewy at all. And they used char siu instead of chashu! That was weird... for those that don't know what they are, char siu is the red bbq pork, it's sweet too (never seen it in soup before, it's often used in pork buns, but also stands up on its own as a main dish especially when made with good meat). Chashu is the slow cooked pork that's usually in ramen. Also, they had the swirly store bought fish cake which are too soft/smushy and very fishy tasting. I would have thought the bowl would be bigger for the price too. The interior is nice, and so were the people. I wanted to like this place, but I don't think I'll be back.
We really liked our drinks (raw sake, lavender tea and bubble tea). Service and staff were great but the food was just fine. Skewers, onigiri, Donbury, sashimi plate and bento.
Lovely little restaurant. The $9 onigiri were ok but my gosh, $9!? Not worth it. Can’t say any of the dishes we got were worth the price tag that accompanied them. Their pastries were tiny and overpriced too. Some are merely repackaged into their own bags, not even made there. I could literally go to Daiso and find the same snack. The tea tho? Def a great place for a fun tea with a friend. I didn’t do the tea flight but that’s what I’d go back for. They had an incredible tea menu that featured many small tea farmers from around the world. Tea is what this place is good for. Go try some. You can even buy in bulk to take home!

I was disappointed in their Teriyaki chicken, which didn't have any teriyaki sauce on it. I asked if they had forgotten to put it on mine, and they said no, that they don't use it anymore because customers complained that it was too sweet. Interesting way to solve the problem.
Two types of ramen and a tea pot was ordered. One ramen was bland, and the other was too salty. Teapot was prepoured before coming to the table so was weak. Due to poor service, we were never able to tonget more hot water. Service was non-existent to the point that we did not know who of the group of 4 people talking at the register was our waiter. We ending our night giving up and walking up to the counter to pay and leave I think the service was bad because we had a small child since the table next to us had much better service.
Eh. Ordered the vegan ramen, two of their “happy hour” skewer sets at $5 each even though the server told us $2.50 (they only honoured the 2.50 for one set on our check), and had a pot of oolong tea at $6. Ramen we think was reasonably priced since ramen is expensive normally anyways ($13 for vegan miso broth with tofu). But the pot of tea is overpriced since it’s just steeped with about a spoonful of leaf and you can get a whole box for the same price, and the skewers are severely. (The chicken one is three small pieces of meat interspersed with three small cuts of green onion? And the beef is three thin pieces wrapped around maybe a quarter of a slice of green pepper, each. $2.50 for either of those seems grossly overvalued) One thing that was good about us being the only customers between 4:30 and 5:45ish pm on a Saturday is that we got pretty regular hot water refills for the tea. The darker-haired waitress (as far as I could tell for identifiers, she also spoke Spanish) hustled more outside the restaurant to get customers and hand out samples. If it wasn’t for the regular tea, since we were the only ones there and felt like we were constantly being watched & the servers seemed unsure about how to ring up prices, it was a pretty uncomfortable experience. Won’t be back.
-Overpriced and not authentic, more like mall food. -The entrees and appetizers were tiny. -The food tasted plain and nothing special. -The service was so so. The wait staff seemed young and just regurgitated what they were told. -When asked for togarashi, the waitress literally brought out a "pinch" -The female manager or owner just looked past us and no greetings whatsoever. This is not a place for authentic Japanese food.
