Great food.Great service would definitely be back. I had their Beef fajita and they are amazing 😋
Nice neighborhood restaurant, has become a go-to stop for Tex-mex after a trip and on the way home. Fast service, nice staff, clean. Lots and lots of options, so be prepared to look at the menu for a bit. I'm impressed by how tasty and tender the beef is (quesadillas, taco al carbon) for a lower priced restaurant. Great value for good food.
Quiet atmosphere, hot and hardy portions at a great price point! I love the chicken flautas and my husband loves the tacos. We absolutely love our date nights out here at El Dorado. They know what we want a soon as we walk in. We appreciate knowing we will get great service and with a smile and some joking around when we stop in!
Great food and great folks! Very attentive and quick - even when busy! Vast menu with TONS of options.
We love this neighborhood Mexican restaurant! The staff are so friendly and the food is excellent. It’s a great family environment, as well. The happy hour prices are a nice bonus!
This restaurant has become my favorite Mexican restaurant. We primarily go during the week, and we pretty much always have one of the 500 lunch specials that they offer. The food is always great. I have enjoyed everything that we ordered. The lunch portion is substantial and average cost is about $10. The service is top notch, and they welcome you like family.
El Dorado Mexican Restaurant #2, located right beside Kroger, is a fantastic choice for anyone craving delicious Mexican cuisine. The restaurant offers plenty of parking, which is always a plus, especially when visiting during busy times. Upon entering, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, with friendly and attentive staff ready to make your experience enjoyable. One standout feature of El Dorado is their super hot salsa. If you're a fan of spicy food, definitely ask for it you'll be more than pleased. It packs quite the punch, and the portion size is generous, ensuring that you won't run out anytime soon. For those who enjoy bold flavors, this salsa is a must-try. The food itself is simply excellent. The queso puff is a standout with its crispy exterior, gooey and cheesy on top. The chalupa is piled high with fresh ingredients, offering a perfect balance of flavors and textures. The beans deserve special mention for their creamy, smooth texture, and the rice was surprisingly delicious. I’m not typically one to eat much rice, but I couldn't resist here. It was perfectly seasoned and complemented the meal nicely. Service is consistently friendly, and the staff is quick to refill drinks or bring anything else you might need. Whether you're dining in or picking up, El Dorado Mexican Restaurant #2 offers a satisfying and flavorful experience. The generous portion sizes, especially of the salsa and side dishes, ensure that you leave feeling full and content. If you're in the area, don't miss out on this local gem it's well worth a visit!
*update* revisited and still think food is good. We had nachos and a dish called "El Mariachi" it's a queso covered burrito served with rice and beans. I like this place. Food is good, service is great and employees are amazing. I have been several times and have yet to have either bad service or food.
Food was excellent and a ton of value. My fish Cancun was perfectly cooked tilapia loaded with shrimp and crab meat. It also came with charro beans which were some of the best I’ve had, rice and guacamole/pico, all for $20. We really enjoyed the included salsa and crunchy chips, we also ordered Queso that was delicious. The service was great, we were greeted and seated immediately, they were very attentive. I will definitely be back here and I recommend it to anyone checking these reviews.
This was our third time in this restaurant in over a year. It was great! They had like 30 lunch specials. I had a good size portion of beef fajitas for 12 bucks. My husband had a combo plate with a bowl of carrots beans and two other plates for 10 dollars. It was kind of empty, but I really hope that it picks up. It will be my new neighborhood place. Great chips and salsa too. They were so kind. I have only been out the hospital for a few days. This was a great first meal.
My companion and I decided to try El Dorado in Kroger Shopping Center because we had passed by it while traveling down Hobbs Road a few times (beside the fact that we like Mexican cuisine). There were plenty of places to park on this particular day. We entered the restaurant and it is a large, open one -- meaning that there is no separation of larger parties to smaller ones. There were a couple of larger parties, which could be loud at times and those parties were next to the smaller parties. The loudness of their conversations can interfere with cozy conversation. The servers weren't as courteous as other Mexican Restaurants, nor were they as helpful. As you will notice when you're seated, the menu has no shortage of choices of their dishes. If you have questions as to the taste or the portions, our two servers gave "middle of the road" answers. This was our first visit, which we shared with our servers, and we did not receive any good opinions as to what we should try or lean towards. It almost seemed as if it is was an inconvenience that we had even asked. (Hint to their servers: a portion of your tip derives from this assistance.) The meal didn't take long to arrive, but being that there weren't many tables being served, the 10-minute wait wasn't bad. The food came out hot and was really good -- about what you'd find at other Mexican restaurants. We were warned not to touch the plates because they were very hot. We appreciated that. After digging in, I was almost half-way into the dish when I found a piece of bone in my food. My companion and I found that a bit off-putting. I promptly rose from my seat and notified the manager (who was at the register) of the piece of bone that I found. After investigating the object, he asked what it was. I, then, repeated that it was a piece of bone that I had just found in my dish. He apologized and that was it. The manager did not offer a refund for my dish or a discount or anything for the inconvenience. We finished our meal, received our check right away (we did not ask for it), and our table was cleared. We, then, walked to the register and I told the cashier (the manager had left) of the bone that I had found in my food; he, also, apologized. No offer to discount the meal nor take make it right. Overall, our opinion of this particular restaurant is this: There is nothing very special about this one. If you don't want to travel very far from the area around Hobbs Road and you want the same taste as you would from a further Mexican restaurant, then you'll be alright.
We've tried this restaurant a third time last night and really wanted it to be better than the past experiences. Once again, we walked away disappointed. $7.45 for queso that was very gritty and $9.95 for margaritas that just don't compare to others in the area. We did enjoy the salsa and the fajitas were a good portion but meal was too expensive for quality of food. I will say, our service was very good but unfortunately that is not enough to bring us back.
My first time ordering here and LAST time. Horrible customer service. I called to speak to a manger because my order was wrong. A Hispanic guy answered the phone and said no manger is there today. I told him my order was wrong he told me to content DoorDash. I told him I can bring my food back and get it replaced and he said it’s not his problem. I will be contacting my bank and door dash for a refund. Unacceptable! Won’t be ordering from here ever again.
Our second, and final time here. If you can't even get a quesadilla right, why are you in the business? The quesadilla was an absolute joke, barely any filling and the steak flavorless. It was also supposed to come with sour cream, which it didn't. We also got chili con queso and it was just plain starchy tasting cheese. This place is ripping people off.
